Chokling ArtHouse - The Treasure of Himalayas

I did not like anything about this property and it was a very disappointing stay.

The room and linens including curtains were extremely dirty, the bedsheet had holes and the washroom was not clean. Compared to the price paid, it was totally not worth as you can find many stays nearby or walking distance from the Landing Site at a better price with much better facility.

The neighbourhood area

The staff and owner were very rude

The location is excellent. Close to landing site and cafes but also needing a short good walk to reach them. The beautiful Chokling monastery is next door and the Dhauladhar range can be seen clearly from the room.

The room was dirty with dust on furniture. The pillow cover, towels, bed sheet were stained, I asked them to put fresh covers. I asked them to dust the coffee table. There was no tea or coffee sachets. I asked them to provide and they did all these when asked. What was worse is that housekeeping and room service is non existent. I had to call several times at the kitchen and then several times at the reception to get even a cup of coffee. I am very very disappointed with my experience at Chokling Art House. Its clearly short staffed with very un professional personnel. Plus there is a lot of noise from banging doors, talking in the corridor. Clearly not meant for a peaceful gateway.

I had a great time at Chokling art house, I met the best people here. Attended such fun events organised by the cafe. So glad to have met Muskan and Suraj for taking care of me and always helping me out with a beautiful smile on their faces.

Property feels very spacious and wonderfully located near monastery.

The only thing I missed in this stay was the evening vibe. They don't really have anything to make the evenings a little joyful.

It’s beautiful right opposite the monastery. It’s also so very peaceful. I didn’t realise how much I needed to hear the birds. The staff are so helpful and friendly and were so flexible with me. Big shout out to Muskan & Shashank for being so amazing. The food oh my!! Everything I ordered was so tasty honestly. I’m so glad I booked to stay here.

The location is breathtaking that one can spend a day or two in the property itself and still call it a vacation spent well, the beautiful view of the renowned monestary which in itself one of the tourist attraction point and getting to live right in front of it🤌🤌 plus the view of dhauladhar range getting to see right from the window of my room was cherry on the top. Special thanks to Muskan Gupta social media manager and overall manager of the property, her friendly nature helped me get comfortable right from the moment I entered the property and her knowledge of everything around in Bir was commendable she suggested me so many offbeat places and all the cafes she suggested saved me so much money and the amazing food I got to eat because of her recommendations made my trip more comfortable and amazing. The fact that we became so comfortable with each other that we were hanging out as if we both are on trip together and it didn’t feel like I was on a solo trip and an amazing photographer she’s Thank you so much Muskan for making my this trip full of memories and unforgettable This is exactly what I came for in Bir

Chokling Art House truly lives up to its name, offering some of the most beautiful artwork I’ve come across. The property also stands out for its excellent internet connectivity, with multiple WiFi options available, making it very convenient for guests. The views are absolutely stunning—a serene monastery right in front and breathtaking snow-covered mountains in the backdrop, creating a peaceful and picturesque atmosphere. I had a wonderful stay overall. A special mention to the manager, Muskan, who was an exceptional host. She went above and beyond by recommending great places to visit and cafes, and even joined me to explore around. It genuinely felt like I made a great friend during my stay. The location is another big advantage, as it’s close to all major attractions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a blend of comfort, art, and scenic beauty.

Everything about the stay was wonderful, but a good cup of tea would have truly been the cherry on top.

The hotel was located near to all tourist attraction. The view of chokling monastry in golden hours added more to the charm.

I did not like the property at all It costed me almost 5k per night for a bedroom and the cleanliness was just 0 There were flies in bathroom, the window of bathroom was open There was no wifi The TV was not working Room’s window was not closing No condiments were given The bathroom’s door had a see through hole

Chokling Arthouse is probably the best property in terms of the quality of stay in Bir. It’s beautifully designed, everything and every decor is insanely intentional. Unlike other “Arthouses”, this one actually holds its name up- Every painting and piece is done by an artist that was passing by, and stayed here, including the pieces done by the resident artist, Sarthak. Its a beautiful retreat for artists and humans seeking a blissful place in Bir. The dorms are very backpacker friendly and affordable and do not compromise on comfort at all, the studio rooms are designed, again, with intention and give out the views of dhauladhar and the chokling monastery. The monastery triples the experience and serenity of the arthouse, there’s always kids playing around, and people meditating. Evening are beautiful here with probably the best sunset in bir second to landing site. This is the best bir has to offer and i was so glad i came here and met some amazing people and especially the manager, Shashank. He is sweet and hospitable and will tell you stories the more you talk. And at last, the food is really really good, especially the chai. Even after moving out from here, we came to the cafe for teas almost every evening.

I visited Chokling ArtHouse during my stay in Bir and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful places I found there. The atmosphere is calm and artistic and you can feel the Tibetan culture around you. The food was fresh and tasty and the staff were very warm and welcoming. It is a nice place to sit, relax and enjoy the mountain vibe.

Peaceful, cozy and good staff

For someone who wants to experience calmness and just soak in some clear skies with a great view, this is the location. Not too far from the centre, walking distance, good food taste as well. Just being opposite the Monastery gives a different feeling altogether, you won't know it unless you experience it first-hand.

This is a great place to stay, especially if you’re working remotely. The Wi-Fi is reliable and fast, making it easy to get work done. The property is squeaky clean and very well maintained and the staff are helpful and always ready to assist. Shoutout to Suraj. One of the highlights is the terrace/common area. you can relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a beautiful view of the Chokling Monastery. Plus it’s just a short 2-minute walk to the market, so getting essentials is super convenient. Highly recommended for a comfortable and peaceful stay.

I came for a P3 paragliding course and wanted a chill place to stay, where it's a peaceful and can meet great people. I got all of that from this place, the staff and the owner were very helpful, the overall vibe of the place was amazing. I loved this stay.

Location: having the chokling monastery next door against the backdrop of the dhauladhar range is such a treat to the eyes. Plus, the proximity to market, yet the quiet comfort of the immediate area, a wonderful contrast. Interiors: tasteful decor. Staff: helpful. Food service: fast and tasty.

The check-in time is not at par with the usual bus/ flight reaching times. Making it difficult for customers to checkin immediately after long journeys. Power supply cut off most of the time. So the hotel is totally dependent on generator. No lift probably.

The artistic touch of this place along with the Chokling Monestry view is what makes it stand out. Loved the stay, great host.

The monastery in front of the property is what makes you feel that the property is worth staying in, but you remove the monastery and it is just another property in Bir

Though booking.com has sent me the confirmation, the property asked me to make the payment to get confirmation.The dorm bathroom wasn't clean. Pillow had stains on them. The bedsheets, though they claim are washed everyday, looked very unclean and old. The staff clearly lacks training on basic sense of professionalism. There were guys who were drunk and creating nuisance till 3 AM in the morning. The night staff did nothing they are almost absent. When complained, they behaved as if they are doing a favor to the guests

Our stay at the property was so good. It was quite peaceful and located at a very beautiful place, You can enjoy the mountain view and see the chokling monastry from the room window. The food was very delicious. We had lunch and dinner at our stay and its quite reasonable as well. If you are travelling with friends or family, I would highly recommend to stay at the place

If you select breakfast option with your stay, you will get very limited option in menu. There were no activities planed for the evening, even though it was mentioned in the description.
