We loved everything, but the service was truly on another level. Mikhail took wonderful care of us during every meal, and Valentina gave me one of the best massages I’ve had. The bar manager and reception staff were wonderful too. We enjoyed every moment at the hotel.
I honestly can’t think of a single thing I didn’t like.
Location, presentation, amenities and service
To maintain a good temperature, you needed the balcony door open.
The hotel property and staff are amazing; the location and services offered are excellent, and everyone is friendly. I loved the dog hosting option too, although I didn't bring my pet. I recommend the hotel for a winter experience for skiing or a sports experience during the summer.
We came in the summer season; the hotel offers many sports activities; however, it doesn't offer low-impact sports activities and tours during the summer time.
Larga spa area
No allergen information provided. Staff didn’t read our special request for a gluten free diet. The gluten free breakfast wasn’t ready. We booked a takeaway breakfast with a 5:00am pick up. When we came to collect it, no one was on reception. It took 20 minutes to find someone. We paid a €6 service fee to have a set of cutlery delivered to our room. Now the biggest issue: some guests had an assigned table for breakfast, usually the best table near the window, but we couldn’t book a table for ourselves. When we asked staff why some people could book a table and we couldn’t, there was no logical answer.
The guides were excellent for the walking and bike tours. Everything about the hotel was 1st class. Dinner menu was a little confusing at first
Perfect location to base out of to tour the dolomites. We were able to easily drive to the lifts and hikes in the area. The room was so sophisticated and comfortable. We enjoyed the spa and pool as well. We highly recommend this hotel.

Cocktails great Francesco, Mirko thank u again. Went beyond to help with everything. Food was lovely as always. Can’t wait to return next year.

Perfekt
The hotel fulfills expectations on every level. The service is highly professional from arrival at the front desk, followed by the food and beverage department and on to the support staff. We took four rooms for a week, and my adult children each had a superior room which were in the newer wing, each of which was large and beautifully appointed. One had an enormous terrace and two had large balconies which were all perfect for late afternoon sun. We on the other hand took a Dolomites suite, which being set on a corner was an odd shape and didn’t get the sun at the end of the day. Whilst it was a large room with 2 bathrooms and a separate sitting area I really didn’t like the orientation. A purely personal gripe, but the bed and the wall facing it were at an odd tangent. I also thought the electric fire a bit unnecessary. If you are going to include a fire make it a real one as they do at the Almhof Schneider in Lech. Frankly a superior room might be better than the suite. The rooms were always spotlessly made up on our return from a day on the slopes and the turn down service always a nice touch. Drinks in the bar pre dinner were always good, and the restaurant experience under Nadia’s supervision impeccable. My daughter is intolerant to many things, and nothing was too much trouble to Nadia or the kitchen. The daily dinner selection is huge. On leaving the hotel the reception called to say we had left some luggage in one of the rooms, and one of their drivers drove towards us as we drove back to the hotel which was extremely helpful. Overall this is a stunning 5 star hotel which delivers on every level. Any negativity in my review is much more to do with my personal preference than outright criticism. The skiing experience in Selva is so far above the more well known and popular ski resorts in France and Austria. So without a doubt we’ll be back next year.
Location, design, personal, breakfast is excellent! Wine selection View from our suitep
Spa rules Restrict to wear seimsuits, really, bearing in mind that all tourists are internationals with their own culture We choose this hotel mostly for spa facilities - whic our son of 14Y cannot visit … after whole day of skiing without visit sauna make all of my family unhappy For all under 16Y access only pool with small sauna (where swimsuits become bot so “dangerous” as in adults saunas
Hotel: the hotel was perfect for our family of 4, 2 adults 2 teens. We had a large suiite, really spacious and modern with 2 separate sleeping areas and 2 bathrooms. The spa is really lovely with a choice of saunas, steams and relaxation areas. It never seemed crowded, a perfect way to end a day on the slopes. Our package was half board, a daily breakfast with everything you’d want, and quality evening meals offering an array of traditional and European foods. You can eat as much or as little as you want from the buffet or à la carte menu. Overall the hotel has a quality feel, a large inviting bar area and modern ski locker room. Location: the only consideration is that the hotel Is not ski in ski out, however the daily private shuttle Is prompt and efficient and the nearest lifts are only a short walk away. Service:the service in the hotel has been all in all fantastic, I want to highlight Nadia our waitress in the restaurant, she is absolutely superb, makes you feel so welcome, she would be an asset in any restaurant or fine dining establishment, absolute quality. She was away one evening and I had to ask for someone to take our food request and had no desert due to the waitress not being attentive. Skiing: the ski area is so vast, I would however say if you are a beginner then some of the runs will be challenging, if you are intermediate or advanced then you will absolutely love the Dolomites, the snow quality this week has been absolutely superb and the Sallaronda is a great tour for anyone to complete.
We had the most lovely experience here from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. The staff on reception (Deborah) and others the most helpful we have had on a ski trip and elsewhere in a longtime. Thank u! From Fabio also in the rent boot room who helped us with ease get ready to hit the slopes to the lovely Nadia who every night was so happy and professional helping us with the delicious menu at dinner. What a tremendous team at this hotel. The hotel and facilities were ideal for us for the short stay we had. Half board was perfect, great selection for breakfast and dinner. We did not have to venture out at all. The prices for drinks, I thought for a ski resort was very reasonable indeed. The spa had a huge selection of steam rooms and saunas. Loved the activity board also this was a fantastic idea. We look forward to venturing back soon.
Excellent hotel, already reserve room for the next year skiing season
Love everything
Friendliness of the staff
Spa and rooms were great
Hotel Granbaita is marketed and priced as a luxury, five-star Dolomites experience. It is not and it represents very poor value for money. From the outset, the accommodation felt substandard. The bed linen and toilet paper were both extremely rough, bordering on hostel quality. We raised this directly with staff and asked for it to be remedied; no one followed up and nothing changed. For a hotel charging at this level, basic comfort should not require repeated requests. The hallways and interiors are deeply uninviting. Long, narrow corridors resemble a hospital rather than an alpine retreat, a feeling reinforced by harsh lighting and worn carpets that genuinely recall The Shining. There is no warmth or cohesion in the design. Instead, the hotel is filled with odd, randomly dispersed sculptures and artwork that add to the sterile, impersonal atmosphere rather than elevating it. The spa area smelled unpleasant, and instead of addressing the underlying issue, the hotel seemed to mask it with an overpowering, synthetic cologne — the same scent was sprayed into guest rooms, making the problem worse rather than better. The hotel’s size is clearly part of the problem: it is far too large to deliver the attentive service and intimacy one expects in the Dolomites. Despite booking well in advance, we were placed far apart, with no consideration given to keeping rooms together. Food – the biggest disappointment The dining experience was, frankly, unacceptable. • Breakfast was mediocre at best: limited fresh fruit, dry pastries, and eggs that were inconsistent day to day. • On one occasion we ordered overnight oats — the result was genuinely inedible. • Dinner service was the low point of the stay. Protein courses were repeatedly poorly cooked and oddly paired with strange, baby-food-like purées (clearly visible in the photos). • The antipasto buffet featured raw seafood left sitting out for extended periods, raising serious concerns about freshness and food safety. • The so-called “dessert night” felt entirely mass-produced. Items appeared either shop-bought or prepared days in advance, lacking freshness, skill, or care. One night we were excited to order our beloved Kaiserschmarrn. What came out was 4 pieces of oily, flat, cold pancake. A complete disservice to the dish and cuisine. What made this worse was the response when we raised concerns: waitstaff and management consistently dismissed feedback with “that’s just how it is.” This attitude is incompatible with a hotel positioning itself at the top end of the market. Service With the exception of the drivers and one waiter, service was poor. Staff were often dismissive, defensive, and uninterested in resolving issues. There was no sense of hospitality, warmth, or pride, qualities that define truly great alpine hotels. Comparison matters We stayed at Hotel Tyrol earlier on the same trip and had a wonderful experience. Warm service, excellent food, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality. That contrast makes Granbaita’s shortcomings impossible to ignore. Bottom line Granbaita is too big, too impersonal, and too poorly managed to justify its pricing or five-star branding. Between the uncomfortable rooms, unpleasant smells, cheap furnishings, weak service, and consistently bad food, this hotel fails to deliver the experience one expects in the Dolomites. We would not return and cannot recommend it to anyone seeking quality, comfort, or value.
one of the best experiences we have had. great staff, great food, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good showers. half board was absolutely a delight for us.
We LOVED absolutely everything. The attention to detail, the decor, the hospitality, the food. 10/10 experience.
That we had to leave !

Everything is perfect! The staff is incredible!! Cointing days to come back
Nothing
Osonlje ljubazno, doručak i večera izvrsni! Sauna i bazen savršeni…vraćamo se ponovo!
Great room, location and staff. Restaurant and amenities were great
Very nice and definetly luxury hotel. Strongly reccommend to book half-pansion rate — restaurant is excellent and you clearly do not need to go for dinner to anywhere else. The spa, pools and saunas are excellent as well

Great location near to Selva, lovely walks nearby, lots of activities in the village and the hotel staff were warm, friendly and professional , a pleasure to stay here. The attention to detail was incredible and my wife and i loved the outdoor pool. May consider coming back in winter for the skiing.
There wasnt really anything I could think of.
The hotel is very excellent and the reception staff were very kind, polite and very fast. The hotel has a great location, is clean and has very luxurious decorations. I highly recommend it to all visitors looking for luxury and services.
No air conditioning, very cold
Came to ski. Renting equipment was so easy, but wished they also had snowboards. Convenient free shuttle to mountain for both drop and pickup but they will not take you anywhere else. You can walk to quite a few restaurants or take a taxi to some neighboring towns. We are not breakfast people so wished we could book the room only but they insisted it was 1/2 or full board. Tried to order our breakfast in room but got charged $40 for something that we did not even want. The spa with steam rooms and pool is quite special so I recommend one day for using this amazing facility.
We had an amazing time! The hotel is beautiful and the spa is amazing, as are the treatments- I had 2. The food is great with a huge selection- half board has both menu options and buffet options, all included. Bar /lounge area is fun also with a huge selection. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the service of all of the staff is wonderful and feels very family like. After a few days the waiters knew what we liked to drink and had it waiting for us at the table!! The hotel has everything you need for family or romantic getaway with lots of activities and options. The area that the hotel is located in is small and not central so outings are limited in walking distance- which for us was great. Aside from skiing, we didn’t leave the hotel, a huge bonus when you don’t want to have to walk around to find a restaurant every night like we usually do with other places!! The staff will drive you to and pick you up from 3 very convenient locations for ski making the hotel super easy for skiing. You can rent gear from the hotel and they give you lockers so nothing is needed from outside the hotel. There is also a way to ski back to the hotel if you want. We left at 3am and there was a HUGE breakfast box waiting for us to take with us as well as a printed birthday greeting and gift for my husband (the day we left was his birthday- I didn’t mention it, they noticed from his passport and did this themselves). What a lovely, friendly, family feel but luxury hotel. Everything you need for a perfect ski vacation!!
Stunning property...convenient location, great food
Very little to dislike...one thing I missed was no butcher museli
Beautiful hotel and spa! In the spa you can find various kinds of sauna, whirpool and indoor and outdoor pool + relax area. I had a great massage from Marlene - highly recommended! I will definately come back again. They have spa package also for those who don’t stay at the hotel!
Everything - the most sensational hotel experience from start to finish. My husband and I don’t regularly do 5 star hotels but as it was a honeymoon we stayed one night as a treat. We arrived and bags were taken up to the room for us and we were given a welcome drink and delicious snack whilst being given a talk about the facilities and things to do. Our room was compact but immaculate. Unfortunately I feel unwell during the stay so wasn’t able to go down for dinner in the beautiful restaurant but not to worry as the amazing Granbaita staff brought up a menu to the room and gave us meals from the restaurant in the room, which arrived on a trolly that converted into a table! They were incredibly tasty and presented like a Michelin star restaurant! The spa area and pool - the greatest we’ve ever experienced. Spacious and so well laid out. My husband went into the sauna area and said it was the best steam room he’d ever seen. The breakfast offerings were amazing too, with a great selection and the chef can cook you things like eggs Benedict if you want, with no additional cost! Overall, the Granbaita was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. It was super quiet (we went during ski off season) and the location amongst the mountains was stunning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nothing
We loved the suite. It was spacious and cosy. Great bathroom accessories by [comfort zone]. And great housekeeping.
We expected for 5 star hotel to also have great food. I mean food selection at the buffet was good (especially cheeses and salami) but cooked food was below average. If you choose dinner, just stay at buffet. One remake also on breakfast and dinner service. It was slow. Really slow. Except with Dora. We had her only for the first night. Shame she moved to another region.
This is high living, a great place to stay and great facilities and staff
Way too hot in general and particularly in the bedroom. Had to ask for the air con temperature to be lowered, which was done, but still hot and difficult to sleep comfortably.
Breakfast was excellent as was the location within easy walking distance of shops, grocery store, bakery, etc. Facilities with indoor/oudoor pool were great but as North Americans we don't understand or appreciate all of the different types of saunas (including a "Hay sauna/steam room" which must carry mold and cause allergies) offered. Our room with separate sitting area on ground level with two walk out patios was fabulous though there was a lot of wasted space and too little counter space in the bathroom. The amount of activities offered, and included in the nightly rate, are fabulous including an e-bike tour that we went on (only the two of us with the hotel instructor/guide).
Bed was too hard for my liking and the sheets are scratchy/itchy, but I often find both of these when I travel. Lots of rain but if you are prepared, you don't have to let it stop you from doing most things.
Food was exceptional both Breakfast and Dinner, there is nothing to dislike about this stay, everything exceeded my expectations. All the staff treated extremely well and went beyond!
NOTHING, everything was in top shape
We were blown away with our stay at Granbaita! It was our first time to the Dolomites and we loved the location, staff, restaurant, food (book the half board, I didn’t realize we’d want to eat at the hotel each night but we upgraded once we got there and it was SO worth it). We went during shoulder season but we were blown away with this hotel for the price. We absolutely loved the sauna space, renting the E-mountain bikes, and all of the activities they had available for us. Our room was stunning and large with a pretty view. We had wonderful service during our entire stay and I just can’t say enough great things. We will definitely stay here again one day.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is big and comfortable. The place is fancy and nice
Wonderful location and great hospitality by all of the hotel staff. In particular, we were taken great care of by Giovanni during every single one of our amazing meals. The man does not rest! The mountain views were absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to go back.
It was a fantastic experience all round.
We loved the staff, furnishings, e-bike activities and amazing spa.
The food was not to expectation. The main tuna and deer medallions were truly inedible and the buffet left much to be desired. Need to have more temperature control in the rooms. Rooms are too hot for sleeping comfortably.
If there was a sixth star, Gran Baita in Val Gardena has it. World class experience delivered with sincerity of heart in balance with the unforgettable beauty of the Dolomites. Take one of the many classes- Marco, Sommelier extraordinaire, leads a memorable tasting of regional wines.
We are currently sitting at the hotel bar, and marveling at finding Hotel Granbaita. This place is simply fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the property is first rate. Our room was beautiful, with great amenities and views. The staff was beyond helpful arranging hiking and biking tours, and the hotel is perfectly located. We weren’t sure what to expect because we stumbled onto this property doing online research, but it is an absolute gem. Don’t miss it!
Incredible service from start to finish. Felt like upscale camp with daily activities board catering to all levels of fitness and activity. We hiked three out of four days there and felt like family by the end. Restaurant was impeccable. Spa service was good, but not great. I would recommend this property to all friends and family. Impressive all around!
The staff were excellent The breakfast options were amazing Room was nice size with a patio Close to the town center
Since there was no air conditioning, you had to sleep with the pation door open. Two problems 1)The lights on the patio could not be turned off. I had to put a towel over the lights. 2) A cat kept coming into my room since the patio door was partially open. The trash cans were super small. For the size of the room, they need to be much bigger. As a solo traveler, I don't like having rooms on the first floor. The hotel should keep that in mind
The hotel atmosphere was good the staff were ok. However the ski hire shop man & the shuttle bus driver were excellent.
I found our meals well organized and good. I like that we had assigned seats but might want to move around a little.
nothing
great committed service; good selection for breakfast; good variety for dinner menu or a la carte; wonderful spa
room temperature at night was too high (I am assuming this is due to the central heating provided)
We stayed for a week with 2 kids in this wonderful hotel. First I would like to mention good points about this property, because there are quite a few. The hotel is newly renovated in an impressive way. The design, smart architectural solutions, the quality of the materials and the furniture in the main areas are of the very high standards. The reception staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. We stayed in an old room (there are also new suites), but it was still well maintained, clean and spacious for our family. The beds are very good, the sleep quality is excellent. The only thing I missed was a proper, not broken make-up mirror and a good light in a bathroom. You can rent the skies and other equipment at the hotel and it went very smooth. The shuttle service is also very good. The bar and the lounge area are very inviting, the barmens were professional, friendly and the bar was well-stocked. Spa area (saunas) are very good, the quality of the massages was excellent, but I have a feeling they are understaffed (booking a day in advance was not possible). The pool area was OK, but it felt that its a bit outdated. A few essential aspects though must be improved to match the ambition of one of the few 5 star hotels in the area. The FOOD: the quality of the food during a dinner was not consistent. Some dishes were good, others were bland, sloppy. The buffet was diverse, but sometimes I had a feeling the dishes were prepared a day before. The breakfast was good. We've also noticed that there is a lack of a senior staff in a dining area. Comparing to other hotels of this level, where the cooperation between the kitchen and the dining service staff is a well-oiled machine, here it is not the case. It takes some time to fix that.
