Super endroit où le propriétaire nous a bien accueilli. Sur place vous découvrirez une vue incroyable sur l’océan avec le sable qui touche votre chambre. La nourriture est egalement très bonne 😁 La piscine est également super car les vagues sont généralement trop violentes pour se baigner dans l’océan

Le domaine est à 20-25 min à pied du centre mais pas mal de restaurant se trouve autour. Hors saison c’est très calme.

Le responsable de l’établissement et sa sœur sont d’une hospitalité louable ! La cabane en front de mer est spacieuse et donne sur une plage magnifique. La vue est le vrai point fort de cet hébergement. Le lit est confortable et les draps et linges de toilettes sont d’une propreté impeccable.

S’il faut trouver des choses à améliorer : la poignée de porte de la chambre et la chasse d’eau des toilettes sont rongées par les embruns et mériteraient un petit coup de décapant ou de ponçage. De l’eau minérale aurait été appréciée. Un savon classique était à disposition. Une petite dose de shampoing aurait été également la bienvenue. Pas de wifi.

We had a wonderful and relaxing calm stay at Alpha Monkey hotel. The cabanas were located right at the beach, which was extraordinary. We stayed there in off-season, so the beach was nearly empty besides some cute hermit crabs. Another big plus was the sea-water pool surrounded by Plants and palms sometimes visited by monkeys. So they definitely earned the name.

Only thing which we have to mentioned is, that the bathroom is very basic and a could need some renovation.

One of my favorite places in Sri Lanka! We were upgraded to a cabana right on the beach which was everything you could want for a relaxing stay. The cabana is not air conditioned but there’s a mosquito net over the bed, good air flow, and a fan so it was very comfortable! There’s also a massive pool that they fill during high season and the hosts are friendly :)

Tutto meraviglioso, sono rimasta 5 giorni perché era davvero troppo bello, direttamente sulla spiaggia, con casetta privata, era luglio ed ero completamente da sola in tutta la spiaggia, era pieno di varani, paguri e tartarughe, sinceramente è stato un paradiso, il proprietario e sua moglie estremamente gentili, hanno un parente che guida il tuck tuck che vi può portare in centro a comprare frutta per fare colazione ma nel caso non ne abbiate voglia la moglie cucina benissimo, tutto eccezionale!! Ce anche una grande piscina, Lo consiglio !! Il proprietario l’ultimo giorno mi ha anche fatto un regalino😭❤️ miglior pernottamento di sempre

Wat een paradijs! We verbleven in een supercoole open kamer met zicht op zee. Je bent hier volop onderdeel van de natuur en hoort de zee ruisen. De eigenaar is enorm vriendelijk en dacht goed mee met onze wensen. We kregen elke dag een cocktail van het huis. In de omgeving zijn genoeg plekjes om te eten, maar we hebben elke dag bij de Alpha Monkey gegeten want de kaart is uitgebreid, het eten heerlijk en de locatie perfect. Het strand bij deze locatie is breed en rustig, her en der liggen wat rotsen in zee maar er zijn ook hele fijne plekken om te zwemmen. De Ayurveda-massage die we hebben geboekt was geweldig. Ook een aanrader: kayakken in de lagune tegen zonsondergang. De Alpha Monkey komt absoluut op ons lijstje van favoriete plekken aan de kust!

Unser Aufenthalt mit der Familie war wunderbar. Die paar Häuser liegen an einem sehr paradiesischen Strand, der sich allerdings nur bedingt zum baden eignet, da es teilweise Felsen im Wasser hat. Die Gastgeberfamilie ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und sie sorgen sich sehr um den Ort und die gesamte Anlage. Das srilankesische Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Die einfache aber sehr funktionale Einrichtung vom Haus hat uns besonders gefallen. Ein sehr guter Ort um zur Ruhe zu kommen.

Perfect accommodation for those who want to be in contact with nature. No front wall with a direct view of the beach and ocean. Visits by squirrels and other animals possible 😁. Friendly, kind owner. A saltwater pool with a diving board and a deep center, ideal for children's enjoyment, perfectly complements the beach, which is beautiful, but not safe for swimming. It is about a 10-minute walk to the bathing place at the breakwater. The friendly staff still maintain a nice environment in the area. A great choice for us, the nicest accommodation in SL.

Sehr schmutzig, viele kakalaken und andere Tiere im Zimmer , großer Frosch wohnt in der Kloschuessel, schmutzige Vorhänge, rudimentäre Ausstattung !

La posizione è fantastica e la camera affacciava proprio sulla spiaggia e l’oceano. Staff molto gentile e disponibile

Ehrlich gesagt nur die tolle Lage direkt am Meer.

Ich bin absolut enttäuscht von diesem Hotel. Schon bei der Ankunft begann der Ärger, da ich nicht einmal das Zimmer bekommen habe, das ich ursprünglich gebucht hatte. Der Zustand des Zimmers war schlichtweg unzumutbar: Es gab außer einem schmutzigen Tisch und einem extrem dreckigen, fleckigen Bett praktisch keine Ausstattung. Die Vorhänge waren voller widerlicher Flecken, und die Handtücher sahen genauso schlimm aus – stark verschmutzt und unappetitlich. Das Schlimmste war jedoch, dass es im Zimmer und Bad nur so von Kakerlaken wimmelte. Unter diesen Umständen war ein Aufenthalt absolut unmöglich. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt daher sofort vor Ort storniert und mir eine andere Unterkunft gesucht. Dieses Hotel kann ich auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen.

Das Personal ist freundlich, die Lage ist sehr schön, direkt am Strand, sehr ruhig.

Keine warme Dusche! Das WLAN funktionierte nur im Restaurant-Bereich.

Es war mein Traum in einem Bungalow direkt am Strand zu übernachten und den habe ich mir hier erfüllt. Großartige Lage, besonders für lange Strandspaziergänge und Menschen, die Natur lieben! Den Pool und direkten Strandzugang mit Restaurant und Liegen fand ich super.

Die Ausstattung ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und sehr dürftig… kein Regal/ Kommode/Schrank, wirklich nur ein Bett und ein kleiner Tisch. Es wirkt nicht so sauber, weil alles sehr alt ist, aber für ein echtes Naturerlebnis war es ausreichend. Man muss wissen, dass die rauschenden Wellen in der Nacht sehr laut sind.

A little aged, the whole cabana complex is situated directly at the beach - a dream location if you like sand, nature and relaxed staff. There are several restaurants in walking distance and an endless beach to take walks. There even is a nice swimmingpool in the complex to enjoy some swimming.

Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Meerblick, das unmittelbar am Strand lag. Besonders hat uns die idyllische Lage sowie der Pool gefallen, der besonders praktisch aufgrund der starken Strömungen im Meer war. Am Strand stehen Liegen zur Verfügung.

L’emplacement de dingue et personnel très agréable et conciliant.

Le côté peut-être un peu trop mode crusoe. L’hygiène tout est ouvert les fourmis, pas de fenêtre.

L'emplacement, excentré, au calme, les pieds dans l'eau. Le côté cabane dans les arbres Lever de soleil magnifique. La chambre ouverte sur l'extérieur, sur l'océan, c'est juste sublime. Le lit immense et confortable. C'est un coin de Paradis.

Le manque d'étagères et de porte-manteaux. Mais c'est partout pareil au Sri-Lanka.

Superbe emplacement direct sur la plage. Personnel très sympathique. Excellent petit déjeuner et repas Sri Lankais proposés.

Nous avons réservé au dernier moment. Il ne restait que la chambre économique. Très basique, peu équipée. Si vous n’avez pas l’esprit « Robinson », évitez… Le bruit de la mer est très présent la nuit, ça a son charme, mais en cas de sommeil léger, prévoir des bouchons d’oreille.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand. Salzwasserpool fand ich toll weil man nur bedingt im Meer schwimmen kann. Die Einfachheit der Zimmer hat auch seinen Charm (keine Klima, kaltes Wasser zum Duschen, keine Glasgenster). Der Besitzer war sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut.

Die Matratze war in einem üblen Zustand. Über dem Zimmer war ein weiteres Zimmer dazwischen nur ein Bretterboden. Man hört jeden Schritt.

after reading all the great reviews we kind of expected something different when it came to service and our room. the only good thing about our stay was the location of the hotel directly at the beach. our room was very run down and dirty, with a used ashtray on the table and the walls in the toilet looked terrible. Downstairs most of the light bulbs didn’t work and the door didn’t fully close. the building our room was in also looks quite run down and would need some renovation, general attention or some love to details. the bed was comfortable and the fan at the ceiling worked and made the temperature okay (there is no AC which was not a problem for us). we still tried to get into the bed as fast as possible to not have any bugs in there with us. you can hear the waves which is nice as well. the rest of the hotel looked better from the outside though, we did not go into the pool. when we arrived and checked in nothing was really explained to us and we didn’t feel as welcomed as we did in almost any other place, when we checked out we got a nice framed picture though which was a nice gesture.

L’emplacement est incroyable sur la plage, avec plein de petits espaces pour se reposer. La piscine est super avec le plongeoir c’est super avec les enfants. Très pratique à côté de pas mal de resto à pied et du lagon. Personnel très sympathique. Avec une très belle intention lors du départ un joli cadeau qui nous as vraiment fait plaisir.

Les cabanes sont vraiment vétustes, ça a son charme mais ça mérite un bon coup de propre dans l’ensemble des chambres et salle de bains. La plage est superbe, c’est la plus belle que l’on ai vu. Mais on ne peut pas se baigner, rocher dangereux et beaucoup de courant. Repas et petit déjeuner extrêmement long, 1h en moyenne pour être servi.

The location is stunning. The roar of the ocean at night is glorious. Chaminda and Deshani are great hosts. The food was outstanding. The coastline is beautiful and dramatic. The pool is perfect. Pietu is a great Ayurvedic masseur. We had a magical, restful 4 days of beautiful walks on a dramatic coastline.

Avere una casa sulla spiaggia è stata un’esperienza unica! La struttura é composta da capanne private sulla spiaggia, una grande zona comune con tavoli per la colazione, bellissima natura circostante e anche una piscina! Ovviamente deve piacere il contatto con la natura perché si tratta di una casa sull’albero, con varie aperture all’esterno, quindi non è raro incontrare scoiattoli e altri animaletti! Il personale è stato davvero gentile e ci dispiace essere rimasti solo 2 notti!

Non c’è acqua calda, ma essendo al mare non è stato un grosso problema!

C’était selon moi la mieux car seulement trois sont directement sur la plage. Douche chaude, draps propres Vous êtes rapidement au niveau des restaurants situés sur la plage (3/4 minutes à pied) Et l’établissement fait également restaurant :) Piscine d’eau salée bien agréable

Perfect location on the beach with a view to the sea less than 100m away. Room basic but comfortable. Staff friendly and hospitable.

This was my favourite place I stayed all trip - the owner made the stay even better. We spoke about cricket and he kindly gifted us a picture of Vishnu. Great location and hotel complex. I want to come back.

We stayed at Alpha Monkey Tree house for 6 nights and wished we had stayed longer; we loved our spacious and clean room and surroundings and the quiet moments we shared on our covered deck. We loved the very clean and quiet northern end of Tangalle Beach where the Tree House is located with it's restaurant and bar on the beach. The food and service is great. The gardens and sanded areas are raked every day ensuring a fresh and clean look. The Treehouse is one of the few places where there are no stray dogs wandering around on the beach. But you will see GIANT, harmless Lizards wandering through the resort gardens and across paths and family groups of Monkeys who move across palms and roof tops but do not come near guests. Everyone was very kind to us. Alpha Monkey Tree House offers guests a perfect beach resort holiday experience at a very reasonable price.

Die Lage direkt am wunderschönen Strand von Tangalle ist einzigartig! Vom Zimmer aus hatte ich einen tollen Blick aufs Meer. Der Besitzer war sehr nett.

Das Zimmer an sich traumhaft. Direkter Blick aufs Meer. Großes Zimmer mit Outdoordusche. Waren alleine in dem Hotel und es war super schön. Tangalle in dieser Region super schön und entsinnt.

- Sauberkeit Toilette, könnte mal eine neue Klobrille vertragen - Mückennetz könnte mal ausgetauscht werden (wir haben unser eigenes benutzt)

We zaten in de familiebungalow op het strand. Mijn favoriete accommodatie van onze hele reis in Sri Lanka. Het is simpel, maar de locatie is de luxe! Heerlijk wakker worden zo aan de oceaan. Het zwembad en de ontelbare heremietkreeftjes en schelpen op het strand waren een groot succes bij onze kinderen! En wat een bijzondere eigenaar, die het meeste geld wat hij verdient doneert aan goede doelen... Na thuiskomst hebben we het nog vaak over de Alpha Monkey... Een enorme aanrader als je van rust, eenvoud en de natuur houdt!

Un excellent rapport qualité prix, logement vue sur mer et sur une magnifique plage pour un montant très raisonnable. Les logements (cabanes), piscine et restaurant sont très agréables et avec beaucoup de charme. Si vous cherchez de la tranquillité et du repos vous serez servis! Les gérants sont aux petits soins et super gentils, je recommande fortement!

We had an amazing stay! The accommodation is located right on the beach and is absolutely beautiful. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. The food was delicious – the fish and chicken bbq was a treat. The swimming pool was perfect for relaxing. At night, we could sleep with the doors open and fall asleep to the soothing sound of the ocean in the background – truly magical. As a special touch, we even received a lovely farewell gift, something we will always remember. Without a doubt, this was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. We would love to come back again! 🌴✨

The sea is rather wild and the rocks make it dangerous to swim, but for this there is the pool. Some of the facilities could get a little maintenance, but nothing critical. Simple and good value for moneY.

Nous avions la chambre vue mer avec salle de bain extérieure. La vue est magnifique! Les équipements étaient simples mais fonctionnels et le lit grand et confortable. La nourriture était très bonne. Le personnel est adorable: ils nous ont donné beaucoup de conseils pour des activités. C’est un endroit simple, à taille humaine avec une jolie piscine et une très belle plage . Tout ce que nous aimons!

Unwirkliche Unterkunft in einem offenen Baumhaus mit Meerblick - unglaublich tolles Erlebnis. Die Unterkunft ist einfach aber hat alles, was man benötigt. Hier zählt vor allem das einmalige Erlebnis des schlafens unter (fast) freiem Himmel (Dach und Moskitonetz sind natürlich vorhanden) mit dem immerwährenden Rauschen des Meeres. Der strandabschnitt liegt etwas außerhalb von Tangalle (kann man gut laufen) und ist deswegen super ruhig und wunderschön. Die Inhaber sind lieb, das Frühstück hervorragend. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!

Die Moskitonetze könnten mal getauscht werden, es zeigen sich kleine Löcher.

Dit was een van onze fijnste verblijven op Sri Lanka, een klein paradijsje aan zee. Wakker worden óp het strand met het geluid van de zee en wuivende palmbomen was voor ons wel een van de hoogtepunten van de reis. Het zoutwaterzwembad is heerlijk verkoelend wanneer de zee te ruig is om in te zwemmen. Ontbijt en diner zijn beiden goed.

Voor mij was het geen issue, maar mijn reisgenoten vonden de open kamers wel een beetje spannend ivm insecten en andere wildlife. Er is wel een klamboe. Let hier dus op als je hier zelf moeite mee hebt.

Er was helaas geen eetgelegenheid bij het verblijf zelf maar dat kan ook komen omdat wij er buiten het seizoen waren.

L'emplacement est juste dingue! Nous avions un bungalow face à la l'océan sur 2 étages (le bas assez sombre et un peu humide, réservé à la salle de bain). L'étage est super grand et complètement ouvert sur l'extérieur (pas de vitres) et la belle terrasse. On entend le bruit des vagues, c'est magique! Une sorte de cabane de Robinson. La piscine est fraîche et agréable. La plage était carrément déserte. Idéal pour se déconnecter de la frénésie. Nous n'y sommes restés qu'une seule nuit et n'en sommes pas sortis🌴☀️🌊. Excellent poisson grillé le soir.

Drôle d'idée de mettre des cailloux autour des wc 🤔 (c'était juste pour trouver quelque chose de négatif).

Un séjour très ressourçant au bord de la plage! Les cabanes sont simples mais ont beaucoup de charme. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, nous y avons superbement bien mangé et la vue sur la mer depuis notre chambre était incroyable. Une super adresse !

Nous avons séjourné au The Alpha Monkey Hotel & Tree House à Tangalle et avons eu un véritable coup de cœur pour cet endroit ! Nous avions réservé la Chambre Double avec Salle de Bains Privative, perchée en hauteur avec de grandes fenêtres face à la mer. Aucun regret : nous avons eu le privilège de nous réveiller en douceur face aux vagues, sans être dérangés par leur bruit, juste bercés par la nature. La salle de bain extérieure est un vrai plus. La nourriture était excellente : nous avons déjeuner dans la partie restauration, complètement ouverte sur l’extérieur, face à la mer et les pieds dans le sable… un cadre magique. Notre seul regret ? Ne pas être restés plus longtemps. Nous n’avons passé qu’une nuit sur place et cela nous a paru beaucoup trop court. Si nous devions revenir, nous réserverions sans hésiter pour au moins 3 nuits, pour profiter pleinement de la sérénité des lieux et de l’atmosphère unique de ce petit paradis qu'est Tangalle. Un endroit que nous recommandons les yeux fermés, surtout à ceux en quête de calme, de nature et d’authenticité en bord de mer.
