Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Das Polfoss hat einen urigen Charme und ein tolles Ambiente. Man fühlt sich inmitten der Natur, die Ausstattung der Räume ist liebevoll. Wir haben dort, zu einem für Norwegen vernünftigen Preis, einen leckeren Burger gegessen. Toll finde ich, dass den ganzen Tag der Kaffee inklusive ist und man somit sehr schön die Außenterrasse am Nachmittag nutzen kann.
Zu unserem Besuch war eine Reisegruppe vor Ort, die sehr laut war und somit das Ambiente wirklich stark störte. Dafür kann das Hotel aber nichts, war einfach Pech. Selbst das Personal hatte beim Dinner Mitleid mit uns und bot an den Raum zu wechseln.

Schönes Hotel im Wald und an einem Fluss mit kleinem Wasserfall gelegen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend direkt vor dem Hotel kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und sehr gut. Die allgemeinen Bereiche im Hotel waren richtig schön und traditionell eingerichtet. Es gibt zudem eine tolle Terrasse mit Blick auf den Fluss.
Das Zimmer war ziemlich schäbig, sollte man nicht denken wenn man den Rest des Hotels sieht. Die E-Ladesäule vor dem Hotel hat nicht funktioniert und es wurden je Versuch 10 NOK einkassiert (Betreiber ist aber nicht das Hotel). Kein Kühlschrank, kein Wasser, kaum Platz und ein durchgelegenes Bett.
Sehr freundliches Personal, tolle Sauna direkt am Wasserfall, leckeres Abendessen in Lodge-Atmosphäre.
Bardzo miła obsługa - wychodzi na przeciw klietom. Byliśmy późno a dostaliśmy ciepłą kolację, mimo, że kuchnia była zamknięta.
W pokoju nie dało się otworzyć okna bo były zainstalowane moskitiery. Stylizacja na alpejski kurort gdy styl norweski jest o wiele ciekawszy jest bezcelowe.

Das Frühstück war ausreichend.
Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Die Spülung der WCs ist aus anderen Zimmern deutlich zu hören.
Die Badezimmer könnten eine Modernisierung gebrauchen.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026El Hotel se encuentra en un paraje natural muy bonito. Nuestras habitaciones tenían vistas al río y a la cascada. Además el hotel dispone de Sauna y Jacuzzi al aire libre, con vistas al río, que resultan muy agradables. El personal fue amable y atento en todo momento. Aparcamiento en el mismo hotel. Muy recomendable si se visita la zona.

המלון קטן ונעים מאוד, החללים המרכזיים מעוצבים בסגנון רטרו - יפה וחמים, אך לא מיושן. החדרים מינימליים בעיצובם ומוארים מאוד.
רוב הצוות היה שירותי ומאיר פנים.
ארוחת בוקר טעימה, מגוונת במידה הנכונה.
באחד הבקרים השירותים בכמה מהחדרים ששהינו בהם (היינו קבוצה) - היו מקולקלים ולא ניתן היה להוריד מים.
בארוחת הערב אחד המלצרים לא התייחס ברצינות מספקת לבעיית אלרגיה של אחת האורחות. היינו צריכים לשאול שוב ושוב וקיבלנו תשובות לא נכונות.

We had a nice river view from our room too.
We tried the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious.
Keep in mind that the hotel is old, so noise isolation is not the best. We were at the end of the corridor so we were not too disturbed by it though.
Also we really wanted to try the spa after a long day but sadly the jacuzzi was not working this specific day.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Wat een fantastisch hotel in een al net zo fantastische omgeving. We raakten in gesprek met de Nederlandse eigenaar die vol passie vertelde over het hotel en zijn uitdaging om hier zoiets moois van te maken. Het is allemaal geheel in stijl met de omgeving. Een echte aanrader!

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026Very good placement for hikes, they are all about 20 min with the car and around the hotel you can check the river and waterfall along with some more hiking routes! Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The toilets were very noisy.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026The location is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings are amazing.
Breakfast was okay. The selection was quite small, but sufficient, and the pastries were really delicious.
Unfortunately, the hotel was not comfortable for us. The soundproofing is very poor. We could hear people through the walls, and the vacuum toilets in the other rooms were extremely loud. It was difficult to sleep and there was very little feeling of privacy.
The “queen-size bed” was two separate beds pushed together and they moved apart very easily. The bathroom door has no lock at all. There was also no safe and not even a small waste bin in the room.
The room and especially the many decorative objects were dusty. The boutique style looks nice, but all these decorations need much better cleaning.
Our room was also cleaned while we were away even though we had not put a housekeeping sign on the door. When we came back, the bed had been made and our clothes, which we had left around the room, had been picked up and folded. We understand that housekeeping is normal, but personally we were uncomfortable that our belongings had been handled.
The main entrance is locked after 23:00, but nobody told us about this. We only got inside because we found another entrance ourselves.
The spa costs extra even for hotel guests. Norwegian was also not consistently available among the staff. This was not a problem for us because we speak English, and the staff were very nice, but it may matter to other guests.
Overall, the biggest problems were noise, lack of privacy and poor room comfort.

Beskrivningen och prisnivån låg inte i paritet med upplevelsen av det. Det borde inte ha kostat så mycket.
Friendly staff, clean big room, comfortable mattress and pillows hard and good.
No isolation between the room , i could hear every word they said.
Toilets are like in an airplane, loud vacuumed noise. Could hear every flush my neighbor did, couldn't flush in the night to not weaken up my room mate or the whole floor.
This type of toilet don't belongs to the hotel room.
Mysigt, bra frukost, fin utskilt från uteplatsen. Prisvärt.

Nydelig, gammelt hotell med flott turområde rundt. I tillegg veldig lett å ha med hunder.
Synd apanasjene og badstue stengte så tidlig som 22:00 og at det koster hele 200kr per person for å bruke det.
Un vero e proprio chalet di montagna arredato con gusto e con un ristorante in cui si mangia davvero benissimo. Purtroppo la SPA non è inclusa; forse il costo vale il servizio ma non abbiamo ritenuto di verificare.
Amazing location, friendly staff (Dutch owners/managers), comfortable beds.
Room was a bit smaller than expected, would have liked to have more space.
Water kettle with coffee available in the room would be a plus.
The shower drain was clogged so the water was spreading throughout the bathroom. We alerted the staff so that they could fix it. Hopefully it was fixed eventually, we didn't stay longer than a day to check.
Price could have been a bit lower.

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Beautifully located hotel where we were able to relax and recharge before the next stage of our journey during a two-week vacation in Norway.
The dining area and lounge were tastefully decorated, offering a cozy atmosphere and a lovely view of the nearby waterfall.
The buffet breakfast was delicious, and the bathroom was modern and well equipped, featuring a very spacious shower.
We would be delighted to return here on future trips and would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers!
A wonderful place to stay and one of the highlights of our trip.

Bivala sva v butičnem hotelu sredi neokrnjene narave, tik ob brzicah potoka. Navdušila sta naju odlična večerja, bogat in okusen zajtrk ter možnost sprostitve v jacuzziju. Edina manjša pomanjkljivost je šumenje potoka, ki je ponoči lahko nekoliko glasno.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026This hotel is located next to a waterfall and stream. Excellent location. The ambience reflects the luxury of the olden days. Lots of antiques and was a treat to walk around the hotel. The rooms were clean with some uniqueness in each of the amenities. Very friendly staff and reasonable breakfast spread.

Noisy, in 3 different ways: 1) Thin walls, so you can hear the neighbours. 2) Toilets with vacuum pump, so flushing takes a very noisy 2-3 seconds, making it awkward to use during the night. 3) Close to a waterfall - noisy if you open the window.
Limited choice of dishes, soup of the day (broccoli soup) was of poor quality, other dishes were fine.
