Sabay Beach

My second time returning to this beautiful serene oasis in the Kampot riverside. A truly tranquil place to escape and take a break from the hectic life of travelling. It is a real treat with incredible service yet again from Pheakdey, Misi and Andrews and the rest of the staff (I'm sorry I forgot the lovely ladies name on the bar/in reception) Food is out of this world, nice gym and yoga equipment for a great start to the morning. Highly recommend. I'll be back soon 🤗

Lovely people and very helpful

I liked the property but was surprised by the number of steps and their steepness to my room and around the property that I don’t think are highlighted in the information. Certainly need to be very mobile to get about the place.

The food was great and the staff were very nice. The room was our favourite but! Staying up in a treehouse was lovely! We hired a bike and explored Bokor Mountain and the town. Lovely couple of days

Wonderful resort

Unfortunately i became unwell during my stay, but the team and Nicholas (Owner), went out of their way to help me. What i also loved was it was quiet there, great food and drinks, great environment and comfortable beds. Felt like being in a jungle on the riverfront.

absolutely incredible property - the staff stayed back to ensure smooth checkin at 11pm at night ( our bus was delayed) we were celebrating our friends birthday and they were kind enough to have the most gorgeous birthday decorations in the room and the staff was constantly available for any help and services and in general the propoerty is so absolutely gorgeous with free kayaking and sitting by the river. so quite and serene.

A beautiful hideaway in Kampot ! The treehouses are really nice, original, comfortable and fun ! The place looks like a jungle with trees and greenery everywhere. The staff is super nice, the on site restaurant has really good food. Its really the place you want to stay if you are looking for quiet and relaxing

I was expecting a lot but definitely underestimated - it's even better than I thought! From the unique, extremely clean tree house to the amazing view from the restaurant to the delicious food and the amazingly friendly staff - this place deserves 100 stars! Can't imagine why someone would stay anywhere else when you can enjoy this and be in the bustling city center in 10 min. for only $3. The owner is very luck to have Pheakaday running it for them. He is a shining example of the friendliness this country offers! Don't even look at anything else. Come here!

The resort is set up on the bank of a massive river with free kayak for guests’ use. The rooms are specious, well lit, and nicely appointed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant were good value. It’s just a bit too far from everything else (7km from the city center and night market. Need to have a motorbike to commute around. There are free kayaks for guests and a multiple decks by the river to enjoy a swim.

Unsere Erwartungen an das Sabay Beach waren hoch und die Vorfreude groß, aber wir wurden enttäuscht. Um von Kampot zur Anlage zu kommen, braucht man ein Tuk Tuk, welches 3,75 € einfach kostet. Unser Strandbungalow war die mit Abstand teuerste Unterkunft während unserer fast 3wöchingen Kambodscharundreise. Selbst 4* oder 5* Hotels waren deutlich günstier bzw. hatten ein viel besseres Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen, teilweise ungepflegt und müsste dringend saniert werden. Gegen 6:00 sind wir vom Vorbeter der Moschee geweckt worden, an den anderen Tagen von lauten Motorbooten. Im Fluss fliest viel Plastikmüll, der einem das Schwimmen verleidet. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, aber die Portionen klein. Der Kaffee musste zusätzlich zum Frühstück teuer bezahlt werden. Auf meiner Intervention hin, wurde der Kaffee dann von der Rechnung genommen.

A quiet stay in nature. The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant had amazing views and every meal was incredible. The staff was the highlight of the stay. They were friendly, attentive and very helpful.

Wifi was a bit slow in our room, and the water pressure could have been better.

Property seclusion and setting offered a great place to unwind and relax.

From the moment I arrived, the staff openly mocked me, loudly, shamelessly, and without a single trace of respect. It wasn’t subtle curiosity, it was blatant, repeated laughter directed at me because of my skin color. One of their colleagues even admitted it and told me he had asked them to stop laughing, yet it continued. We still went through with the check in, hoping things would improve. They didn’t. Even at that stage, the experience was abominable and absolutely not up to standard. Let me be clear, being different can attract curiosity, and that’s human. But there is a line. You can smile, you can observe, but you do not laugh out loud at someone in such a humiliating, degrading way, completely disregarding the impact it may have on them. It is unacceptable to work in tourism if you are not prepared to welcome people from all over the world with basic respect. What I experienced reflects a serious lack of emotional intelligence. An apology message was sent afterward, but the damage was already done. I left in tears and didn’t even stay a single night. Even the most beautiful place in the world means nothing without respect. I would rather receive a warm welcome in a modest place than face such disrespect in a palace. On top of that, the hotel is extremely far from the city center, which only adds to the inconvenience. I strongly advise anyone who values basic human decency and respect to avoid this place. Pas grand chose de positif. Très éloigné du centre et de tout. Les petits déjeuners sont très chers et pas copieux du tout. Le cadre est sympathique mais ça ne fait pas tout.

Fun room & bathroom fitout, organic tea was a nice tough, beautiful garden outlook. We only stayed 1 night, though we ate here a couple of times. Nice glass noodle salad in the restaurant with a magnificent view over the river & sunset. Attentive staff.

Beautiful location, peaceful and so tastefully decorated. The customer’s comfort has clearly been thought about.

The restaurant was excellent. The access to kayaks was good. It was very quiet with lots of places to relax and the views of the river and mountains were beautiful.

The trade-off for solitude is that you are quite far away from the city of Kampot. This means a little extra time is needed to book transportation or to request Grab food for delivery. Not a lot of grocery options nearby so, again, you have to plan ahead if you want extra food and drink.

Steps up to tree house not advisable for elderly or children.

Two of us staged in the family room and the downstairs bed was really comfortable. When it wasn’t too busy down by the river it was lovely and chilled.

The hotel lock the outside gate at 10pm every night but lock in with a padlock from the inside, they provide a key to unlock it but it’s so difficult to do from the outside and they need to update this ASAP. There’s only 4 sunbeds available but a lot more guests. A lot of mosquitoes in the room so they need mosquito nets around the bed as we got bit a lot during the night

The tree house and view, it was what i was after and it was away from the busy part of town.

i am sure the bed linen was not changed and some one had slept in it, i did take some photos. that was on one side of the bed as i was tired and had arrived late I slept on the other side telling myself its not a five star and I will survive and it is not life or death situation.

Superbe espace collectif, le restaurant est très bon du petit déjeuner au dîner ! Coucher de soleil incroyable Personnel très accueillant, aidant pour toutes les réservations ! Chambre avec une bonne literie, un frigidaire et climatisation 👌 Propre même si nécessiterait quelques rafraîchissements!

Notre chambre était au niveau de la rue parfois un peu bruyant le matin. Quelques animaux habitants sous le plafond très bruyant le soir malheureusement les aléas des logements sous les tropiques!

L’emplacement et le restaurant.

Het ontvangst is voortreffelijk, het personeel is heel vriendelijk en persoonlijk. Het eten in het restaurant is heel goed. Voor een paar dagen zit je hier heerlijk aan de rivier. Verwacht ondanks dat geen 4 sterren locatie. Er hangt een chille vibe, de boomhut is helemaal leuk en ligt tussen de (mango) bomen.

Voor wat je krijgt vind ik de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding een beetje uit balans en had ik een andere verwachting. De kamer is heel klein en ik miste een koelkastje. Wij waren er 4 nachten wat ik zelf een beetje te lang vond.

Great atmosphere Largely attentive staff Great food and drink options It was wonderful to relax by the beach. It's rare to find a single room that can comfortably fit 3 people so we were very grateful.

Whilst not the fault of the resort those seeking to book should be aware of mosquitos. Not hundreds but there are a few. This can't really be avoided in these types of tropical areas. Lots of very steep stairs and unless I missed it I could not see a lift. If those seeking to book are of limited mobility I would keep this in mind.

Certains équipements necessiteraient un rafraîchissement (peinture du coin commun, lieu de baignade)

Le personnel top. Le bar/ restauration. Les équipements à disposition pour les loisirs et le cadre.

La chambre : La literie n'était pas super confort ( trop molle en règle générale). Il y a des entrées un peu partout dans la cabane laissant le champ libre aux moustiques, geckos. Le lit dispose d'une moustiquaire mais celle-ci est trouée. Il n' y a pas de frigo donc pas de possibilité de conserver une boisson fraîche en chambre. La salle de bain: qui se trouve au rez-de-chaussée contient un mur qui n'est pas totalement fermé. Cela découle sur le fait que le soir et le matin (tôt) il y a pas mal de moustiques.

Magical place to stay.

The tree houses are beautiful, quaint and well cared for. The residence is very pretty and the staff is beyond nice. Having breakfast overlooking the river is beautiful.

Since it is so far out of town, laundry service should be available at the hotel. Also, there is a lot of plastic in the river. This is not sabay’s responsability of course but all hotel owners should work together in dealing with this problem.

Die Lage am Fluss ist phantastisch. Abseits des Trubels von Kampot findet man Ruhe und Entspannung. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die wirklich excellente Küche ist besonders zu empfehlen. Internationale Spezialitäten in hervorragender Qualität zu adäquaten Preisen sind den Aufenthalt wert.

Ein professioneller Internetauftritt kann leider nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen daß die Anlage in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Strandhütte,die wir bewohnten war schief, da hätte eine Wasserwaage beim Bau gute Hilfe geleistet. Die Treppenstufen in unterschiedlicher Höhe und mit grossen Abständen kann beim nächtlichen Besuch der eine Etage tiefer gelegenen Toilette leicht zum lebensgefährlichen Akt werden. Die Mitnahme einer Taschenlampe ist unerlässlich. Diese ist in der schlecht beleuchteten Hütte auch hilfreich beim Auffinden von Mäusedreck in den Ecken und Ritzen. Die Mäuse, oder ähnliches Getier, sitzen in der Decke zwischen dem äusseren Blechdach und der inneren Bambusverkleidung. Nachts beginnt es zu trappeln und rascheln und es tropft auch von der Decke. Die Sickergrube hinter der Hütte verbreitet sehr unangenehme Gerüche. Tatsächlich kann das wirklich hilfsbereite und immer zuvorkommende Personal hier wenig ausrichten. Eine Grundsanierung wäre hier dringend erforderlich. Über in diesen Breitengraden übliches Getier wie Frösche, Schlangen und Mücken darf man sich selbstverständlich nicht beklagen. Tatsächlich war das Preis- Leistungsverhältniss für die Wohnqualität in unserer Hütte im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes , doch ziehmlich in Schieflage. Schlechter kann ein wesentlich günstigeres Zimmer hier im Umkreis sicherlich nicht sein.

Sehr naturnahe und gemütliche Unterkunft. Fantasischer Bungalow direkt am Fluss. Sehr freundliches Personal.jeder einzelne. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Servicepersonal. Das Küchenpersonal weiss auf jeden Fall was es macht. Das Essen ist fantastisch. Traditionelle kambodianische Küche ins Sternesegment gerückt. Und zur abwechslung auch europäische Küche vom Feinsten. Ein echter Genuss in herrvoragender Atmosphere und wunderschöner Aussicht über den Fluss in die Berge in Richtung Sonnenuntergang. Bravo.

Friendly staff always helpful. My son enjoyed a lot at playground and little space around reception. Food was amazing also we relaxed at sunset time at the restaurant. It was amazing time. I would like to go back again and next time we love to stay at treehouse.

The shower room did not drain properly, so water always accumulated and it was difficult to shower smoothly. The shower was positioned high, which was inconvenient for me.

Fantastic little hotel with an idyllic location on the river. Very chilled vibe, delicious food and wonderful staff. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Go there !! You won’t be disappointed.
