Every day, the same porotta for breakfast. If you’re looking for a peaceful night’s sleep, you might want to reconsider—especially if you’re staying downstairs, as you can enjoy train horns and sounds throughout the night. You probably won’t need an alarm either, because the loud footsteps from people walking upstairs will do the job for you. 😅 You can’t eat inside the room, and if you want to drink water from a glass, you’ll need to bring your own. No coffee or tea pouches either, so I’m honestly not sure how this place received such good recommendations. The AC also wasn’t cooling properly. The staff were okay, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for more than ₹2,000 (around £20). Definitely not worth paying more than that.

Close to beach and city center.. Selva helped us to look after all logistics, breakfast, tuk tuk etc.. value for money..

Coffee/Tea packets inside the room would have been nice..

We don't have enough good things to say about our stay here in Allepy! Selva was so incredibly kind and made us feel right at home, always greeting us with a smile, asking how we were doing, and making sure everything with the room was up to standard. The location was very convenient, as it's 5 minutes from the beach (go after 8pm when all the food stalls open up) and 10 minutes away from various cafes/restaurants, but still incredibly quiet and peaceful. The breakfast every morning was delicious and definitely an added bonus. Thanks again for the amazing stay:)

We found the room a little disappointing as the outside of the hotel and photos reflected more quality. Cockroach in bathroom. Reception staff helpfully booked us an excursion on the backwaters for 3000 rs which we were told was all inclusive and the use of a tuk tuk there and back was discussed. However when reaching the landing area the tuk tuk driver needed paying. This was put down to a misunderstanding by management but left us out of budget as it was an unexpected charge. The excursion itself was a bit dull and overpriced compared to backwater trips we took on Munroe island. The local beach is having lots of construction work nearby so we didn't spend much time there. Next time visiting Alleppey we would choose to stay at the backwater side of town where there are more amenities. Breakfast was ok but we had to ask for everything and didn't realise that we could have ordered a western breakfast (omelette & toast) had we not read previous guest reviews. Perhaps a menu card of what options were available would have been helpful

Superb value. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. I stupidly left items in the wardrobe when I checked out, and the team made the effort to track me down and hand them back to me. Short walk to beach, restaurants and bars.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location for the train station and beach cafes. It was a bit far from the boat jetty but we knew that beforehand. You can get easily get a tuk tuk there.

The property needs a bit of an overhaul.

Big, clean rooms. Lovely staff. Really appreciated they let us keep bags with them before our train. Also a great breakfast. You could choose between toast with butter or Indian style breakfast with Parotta. Both were brilliant. One of the best places we’ve stayed at in India. Would 100% recommend.

Crossing railway tracks to get to the beach, the rubbish in that road was disappointing but not the hotel’s responsibility, just saddened me.

Staff are very welcoming and nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a restaurant called the Catamaran is a 10-15 min walk from here where there is the views of sunset and food is delicious

After travelling around India over 5 weeks and staying in up to 15 hotels this by far was the best. Cleanest and comfortable room with big bathroom and great Shower. Toiletries were a nice touch also. Good breakfast(Indian) and great host. Thanks for a great stay wish were able to stay longer.

Bit remote but hosts gave us recommendations for a nice restaurant nearby, and beach 5 mins away but you have to cross the rail lines.

Staff is friendly definitely, simple but good breakfast Unfortunately, general clearness of property can be better.

Location - my window was 10 metres away from railway, noisy 24h. A bit expensive for what it was really.

Everything about this place was exceptional, however for me, the standout point was the staff. Even before I’d checked in Akmal was amazing, providing guidance and advice. Recommended a tour for the backwaters and went about and beyond to take me to the train station and help book my train ticket - he is an exceptional addition to the property. Aside from the staff, the location was great; a few minutes walk from the beach. Place was very clean, my room was lovely and comfortable and had everything I was after. Would highly recommend.

Spacious and modern room, short walk from the beach. Staff and owner went above and beyond to help us - with planning, transfers and local activities. Breakfast was delicious.

Super host (Akmal), he’s a great, kind guy. He offered to take me to the ATM and gave advice on places to go etc. The bed was really comfy, I like a firm mattress and the bedding was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again 👌

The property was very near the train line so I was worried this would keep me awake but actually I didn’t disturb me - but just note it is near the train line.

The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful. The accommodation was clean and tidy

Akmal was an amazing host nothing was too much trouble for him he went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. The rooms had smart TV so could watch anything in English the shower was powerful and hot and the ac unit was very quiet very clean tidy and comfortable would stay again for the money 10/10

Absolutely loved our stay at Oceana Hills Residency in Alleppey! The place has a warm, homely vibe and the owner was super polite, friendly, and genuinely helpful. He even dropped us to the railway station early morning when no cab or auto was available – that really meant a lot! The staff here is equally lovely – always smiling and ready to help with anything. And oh, the coffee – just amazing! A perfect start to the day. Location-wise, it's great too – just a 10-minute walk to Alleppey Beach and around 2 km from the railway station. Rooms were clean, cozy, and great for the price. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Alleppey. Definitely coming back here next time!

We even experienced a "Red Alert" rain during our visit, but the team remained incredibly cordial and reassuring, ensuring our comfort despite the weather. Even in such an unexpected situation, the business owner was present with a smiling face, prioritizing our comfort.
