All over very good hotel,And owner to familiar..Nice stay..From next time always I will prefer to stay at this Hotel...
Staff is very polite and supportive. Good room and locations. Comfortable stay.
Excelllent location
A bid basic, breakfast only at 9 am, they ask a few thing from the street and you eat it in your windowless room
Decent Property, if you want to stay closer to the Temple than these are the best options available.
Overall condition of the room.
Incredibly convenient location, lots of food nearby and short walk to the Golden Temple and the lovely pedestrian area. Lots of space in the room.
Cleanliness could be better, and upper floors are only via steep stairs—no elevator.
This hotel really hits the spot on location being just a few minutes from the Golden temple. Also, quite next to the middle of the shopping area. Apart from that, it offers a "resonable" review on staff, cleaning, breakfast and amenities. To me, the lack of payment by card is a turnoff (when you think about it, you're paying quite a lot in ruppees, so that shouldn't be an excuse for the tax interest). Most of the ATM's around the hotel go cashless very fast as you're in the city center so make sure you have enough money on you... Also, there's no lift in the building of 4 stories, behare of this if you're staying above the second floor (I stayed on the third).
We were put on the third floor which was not what we expected and they had no alternative. Very big steps. Unclean, stained bed sheets. Despite asking to clean was not done.
Location as it is just walking distance to Golden Temple and market.
Rooms are quite compact and there is no ventilation. Cleanliness is another concern property being very old
Close to the Golden Temple. Friendly staff. Lots of stairs but you soon get used to it although I guess it depends which floor you’re on!
Nothing
Next to temple
A bit improvised
Friendly and helpful staff. Location near to Golden Temple
To be fair, it's only £20 per night, easy walk to Golden Temple and the guys at reception are friendly and helpful enough.
But it will never escape its surroundings. The grime, dirt and noise together with the congestion is just a feature of the area. The gloomy rooms have no natural light, the staircase is awkward, the wifi only really works in the lobby. Their airport pick-up service left a lot to be desired and could be improved by the simple expedient of the driver waiting at arrivals with a sign with your name on it. As opposed to phoning us, telling us to go to public parking (how are we to know that's not the car park you see on emerging but one 400 metres away).
Nice hotel . Room was neat and clean.Near by golden temple nd jallianwala bagh.staff was very helpful.value of money.Fully satisfy . Definitely recommended
Great location, delicious food and walking from the temple and jallianwala bagh.comfy stay . I really like it and definitely recommend.
Very good property near by golden temple staff is very friendly room is clean & m.s vandana great
We did not like it. Please read the detailed review below.
First of all, the area is very shady and not safe at all. The name of the hotel is Malhotra guest house. On the booking.com, it is listed as Malhotra inn. Then, the rooms were not clean, furniture was old and dusty, bedding smelled, there was an unwashed spot on the duvet. I kept the pillow away for the whole night because it was smelling really bad. They did not provide us bathing towels in the beginning. Our room key was in some other room when we checked in. We never got our free breakfast. The bathroom was the worst. It was not clean. The plumbing is rusty. No ventilation. They switch on the geyser only in the morning, so no 24 hours hot water. The water coming out of the geyser is only lukewarm. When we informed reception, they said it is that way. They switch off the all the air conditioning systems in winter. The window opens on a narrow street with pollution. There is no real ventilation. The room was smelling weird throughout the night. I felt suffocated. While sleeping, I could feel the spring of the mattress all the time. In the morning, there was cigarette smell coming from the bathroom window. I booked this hotel based on the reviews. This is the only hotel near the golden temple with the highest rating. There are so many people who have given 10 stars. Based on my experience, it is not possible. I speculate all these reviews are fake. I am attaching photos of the room.
The location is very central.
The window doesn’t give on anything and there is zero natural light, which gives the room a feeling of darkness / stuffiness. The staff woke us up in the morning for breakfast twice, no idea why… also a bit hard to communicate with them.
The staff was nice.
-there is no real window in the room, the ac did not really function and the fan in the bathroom was doing a poor job so it was taking ages for the shower to dry after using it, also the towels stayed dumped and never really dry out -you could smell mobile from the bedsheets
Very well managed and secure
Narrow steep stairs and no lift. Older people (I am over 70) should be put in lower rooms.
Clean rooms, fresh sheets, clean towels staff eager to please Warm and extremely helpful.Hot water kettle, hair dryer. a clean ensuite bathroom a small cupboard. Heritage street is a short walk
None. Rooms have to be accessed by a steep staircase- disabled unfriendly ; however considering that the hotel is right in the middle of the bazaar just a few hundred metres from Harmandir Sahib and Jallianwala bagh space constraints are perfectly understandable
The room is excellently situated, right beside the Jallianwallah Bagh and very near to the Golden Temple. It is very convenient to take breaks during multiple visits to the temple. There is a very bustling market as well as iconic restaurants within walking distance. And the hotel staff/ owner is very very service-oriented and efficient. They arranged a cab for me for 4 days for my onward journey which has been very satisfactory.
The only drawback is the fact that there is no lift/ elevator. As I had requested to have rooms together, I was accommodated on the 3rd floor as per my confirmation. So which it wasn't unexpected, the high floor was a bit of a hassle for climbing up and down multiple times, especially as the steps were narrow and steep. But the staff did everything they could to alleviate the trouble, and carried our luggage up and down themselves.
Good location. Clean, staff.
Bed not comfortable. Sometimes no a/c , no elevator, food was not tasty.
Good location, helpful staff.
Room had no windows, a little stuffy.
The location is very fantastic - 5 to 7 minute walk to the Golden Temple. It's in the middle of a bazaar but my room on the 3rd floor even though facing the road was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. For some reason, they gave me 2 bananas both the days saying its for people who book through Booking.com?!
The mattress was terrible. It needs to be replaced. The room had a musky smell likely coz the windows were not opened in a long time due to the AC. The shower knob in the bathroom was broken and when I switched to the Shower mode, the whole panel came off and I couldn't turn the Shower mode off again. The toilet seat was also loose and broken. The following items from my Booking reservation were not available in the room - Fireplace, slippers, sitting area, dining area, dining table, drying rack for clothing, hand sanitizer. I am wondering if they gave me different room then what I was supposed to get?
Great location with only few minutes walk to the Golden Temple. Room was well air conditioned. The staff were very friendly, approachable and accommodating. Quite flexible too as they allowed me to extend my stay at short notice.
Rooms were lacking a few basic kitchen appliances. And they’re also not the biggest (might feel cramped for some)
Okay everything about this property is already told in the other positive reviews. Do stay, it is central, the rooms are nice, do pay the extra for the deluxe room - it is worth it. The staff here are wonderfully helpful and kind. I arrived earlier than check-in but with food poisoning from the aircraft breakfast…….i just knew it was going to be bad. I am so grateful that they took pity on me and gave me a room to ‘die in’. Later when I was over the worst we moved to the room, now ready, that we had booked. I honestly don’t know what I would have done had they not been so kind. What an amazing way to start our three month trip. Thank you so very much xx
Lower levels have road noise - but this is central Amritsar, it’s crazy and joyous. If it’s going to bother you book a deluxe room or bring earplugs There’s also a wonderful air conditioned restaurant about fifty steps away. On the left as you walk in to the centre
It's very close to the Golden Temple. Enable us to go early morning at 2.30am to avoid queue to go into the Golden Temple. Aircond was really cold. Water heater didn't work well.
Water heater didn't work well, despite turning on all the switches.
Great staff Well maintained rooms Very Close to temple jallianwala bagh n market also 👍
Nothing all good
Great hotel. Everything was nice. would surely choose it again next time we visit amritsar. Great location, great service, friendly staff. Good value for the money. Thanks Mr mahir for arranging our taxi and guide us so well.Very comfortable. Would definitely recommend Thank you!"
Nothing
The staff and Mr owner were all very friendly and helpful and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The hotel is well situated, being close to golden temple and market and the tourist sites. We would definitely stay there again.
Great location just next to the main street and a few minutes walk to the Golden Temple nd main sights. Lots of restaurants nearby. The owner was friendly and helpful. Decent size room. For the price we paid it was ok.
The shower pressure was terrible so we had to use the bucket and scoop. The dogs in the alley opposite barked on and off all night so kept us awake a lot. Cleanliness could have been a bit better in the bathroom.
Proximity to the Golden temple(Sri Harimandir Sahib)
Good location
- The room was poorly maintained with lots of issues. - You had to call yourself an external number to order breakfast. - The staff service was unmemorable. - Lots of street noise during the night
