Reviewed Aug 5, 2026We had a comfortable stay at Vagary Chalet. It offers great amenities, including a dining area with free usage of utensils and drinking water, books, an iron, and Wi-Fi. The clean room featured a great bed, a cold AC, and thoughtful touches like a hair dryer and prayer mats. Breakfast on the weekend was tasty and filling. The chalet is close to the beach, shops, and water sports facilities. Comfortable bed: Good mattress and pillows with a cold Daikin air conditioner. Room perks: Power extension cord, hair dryer, broom, hot flask, and cups. Bathroom extras: Fresh towels, slippers, and a prayer mat upon request. Shared facilities: Free hot and cold drinking water, eating utensils, books, and Wi-Fi. Weekend breakfast: Served Friday through Sunday. Menu options- Nasi lemak, fried kway teow, toast, cereal, cakes, coffee, and tea. Nearby food: Local food stalls, convenience shops, and a duty-free shop are a short walk away Beach access: Just a short walk to the beach. Water sports: Affordable island hopping, snorkeling, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. Extra tours: Helpful staff can arrange island trips and hornbill feeding nearby.
Sometimes monkeys visit the chalet looking for food, but thankfully the attentive staff quickly chase them away. 😃

Reviewed Jul 4, 2026Bilik selesa, bersih & wangi. Lokasi strategik dekat dgn pantai, kedai makan & tempat menarik sekitar pulau. Nak keluar makan hanya berjalan kaki. Staff baik. Breakfast simple & sedap. Resort cantik & bnyk port nk ootd. Kemudahan seperti iron, sejadah & extension serta mesin coway juga disediakan.
Kalau bwk kereta tiada parking disediakan.

Reviewed May 14, 2026I like the location, however the way to Vagary under repair project forces us to take the old road, making a long detour, but that wasn't a big problem for us. Beside the road, there were many Malay vendors selling food and drinks, and a duty-free shop. In the mornings, you could see hornbills flying around eating fruit. The location is also very close to the sea; it's a short walk to the beach. many water sports facilities, and you can take a boat to the island. So I was very satisfied with my stay here! I especially want to mention the delicious breakfast! My family loved it! The staff there very nice 👍

Reviewed Feb 14, 2026Attention to detail was Fab. So clean everywhere. Perfect location for beach and restaurants. Scooter hire right nextdoor. Really helpful and welcoming at reception. He even called the pink mini bus to pick us up at the door saving us a walk 😁 Could've stayed longer.

Reviewed Feb 12, 2026If you are looking for a quiet, no frills, beach cabin, this one is good. We were only there two nights for a quick day at the beach. This place provided beach mats and umbrellas, which is a very nice touch. We loved the little porch, but wish we had two chairs so we could sit out there together. Hot and cold water was provided by the front desk for drinks, along with bbq facilities and sink to wash dishes. There are outdoor showers so you can rinse off before heading into your cabin room. Bed was comfortable and cabin was clean. We spent our beach day on Coral Beach and it was beautiful.
Only one chair on the deck. TV only showed local channels. We would have liked being able to heat water in the room for tea & coffee (they did provide a small thermos for bringing water back to the room, which was a decent alternative).

Reviewed Jan 12, 2026The motel is clean, well maintained, and the room comes with all the basic facilities. If they have mini fridges, they will be perfect..LOL. Thre was one main person that seems to be doing every thing..I believe he's also the manager. He helped us with check in, cooked / prepared breakfast, and even called our taxi. He's one of the big reason our stay there was so good.

Reviewed Dec 8, 2025The location was excellent just off of town but in a quiet side road. We only met Samsun who was there all of the time and he was nice and friendly. The shower was hot, the AC worked great and the bed was comfy. Just around the corner is a self service laundry and also scooter hire for MYR 50 per day. Best Restaurant is Daddy's which is a 10 minute stroll away, excellent food, staff and sitting by the sea, watching the sun set is incredible.
Nothing to complain about but if I had to say something it would be that our room wasn't cleaned, the bins weren't emptied and the towels/sheets not changed in the 6 nights we were there. We managed fine and I'm sure if we'd have asked they would have done all of these things.
