Garden Villa Talalla

Garden Villa is s lovely place to stay, only a few moments walk from the beautiful and unspoilt Talalla beach. Gaby and her staff are very friendly, warm and welcoming and looked after me extremely well during my 6 week stay. I was volunteering for a local charity with variable start times and they were very accommodating by putting on an early hearty breakfast for me every day, which included the most the amazing fruit platter! My room was spacious, well equipped and very clean with a quiet balcony overlooking the pool and beautiful garden, which is full of lovely tropical plants and flowers. A very peaceful place to sit and relax in. Diva and Lucky, the two labradors, were very friendly too, always happy to see me, giving me a very warm welcome whenever I returned. Nothing was too much trouble to make my stay as comfortable as possible and I highly recommend Garden Villa as a great place to stay. I hope to return again one day.

Gabby was very warm and welcoming, making our stay feel truly special. Diva and Lucky - the on-site canine security - were a highlight for us as a family of dog lovers. The location, rooms, restaurant were all perfect - would definitely recommend!

That the assistant lady was a bit rude when the monkeys took something from my balcony which kind of ruined sunrise beach walk. No response whenever I messaged on WhatsApp.

We spent four nights in a spacious and nice ground-floor room with a small terrace facing the pool. Gaby the host, is incredibly kind and helpful, we felt at home right away.

This accommodation is very cool and I highly recommend it. The staff and the owner Gaby are great. The dogs Lucki and Diva became our great friends :)

Perfect location for families - their level of service in general is top! Breakfast choice is very broad (what is not always the case in Srilanka) - and the pool can rescue your day when Talalla waves are too big for your kids.

The staff are amazing, really friendly. We had a lovely room by the pool which was cleaned beautifully every day. Breakfast was a varied fruit plate and we chose an omelette each morning which was delicious.Paid extra for specialist coffee, but reasonably priced.The two dogs are friendly and caused no issues. Very close to the beach.

Gutes Frühstück, unter deutscher Leitung weiß man hier, was der Tourist gerne hat. :-) Gepflegte Zimmer mit guter Ablagemöglichkeit, und Schrank mit Kleiderbügeln , Sitzecke, Balkon mit Relaxstuhl Deutsch ist auch die Hundeliebe. Tägliche Reinigung der Zimmer mit vielen schönen Handtüchern, für Pool und Bad Toller Garten mit Pool Wirklich funktionsfähiges Moskitonetz, ordentlich groß. Alleinreisende Damen fühlen sich hier auch sehr wohl. Nachmittags kann man sich auch italienisch verwöhnen lassen. Die Bushaltestelle ist vorne an der Hauptstraße , die Busse fahren häufig in beide Richtungen, so braucht man nicht die etwas überteuerten Tuktuks vor der Türe (Pick me an die Hauptstraße bestellen, klappt prima) Das Bäckertuktuk kommt auch hier vorbei.

wirklich italienische Küche, etwas teuerer als sonst . Wir haben sie leider nur einmal genutzt, da uns die beiden, ganz lieben großen Hunde deutlich zu aufdringlich am Tisch waren. Die Gummimatte im Bett (wir haben sie entfernt ) Der Dieselgenerator des Nachbarhotels läuft leider zu viel. Es kommen 3% Gebühr auf die Kreditkartenzahlung, das wussten wir nicht. Für uns war es nach fast 4 Wochen Sri Lanka Rund Reise nicht die passende Adresse, für viele andere, vielleicht die absolut richtige Wahl, mit Luxus den es nicht überall gibt.

Emplacement exceptionnel à deux pas de la plage ! Piscine calme et chambre spacieuse. Deux chiens sur place qui sont devenus les meilleurs amis de notre bébé (bien qu’ils peuvent être un peu encombrants). On recommande la méditation avec Valeska!

Un peu cher. Si vous vous faites masser au spa; demandez la masseuse du spa et non quelqu’un de l’extérieur (surtout pour de la réflexologie).

Gabi ist unglaublich herzlich, hilfsbereit und kümmert sich toll um einen. Man hat das Gefühl, dort nicht allein zu sein (auch als Alleinreisende). Alles ist toll ausgestattet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail arrangiert! :)

Les chambres, la piscine ainsi que le personnel sri lankais sont très appréciables et contribuent à un cadre agréable.

Cependant, malgré ces points positifs, nous ne nous sommes pas sentis totalement à l’aise durant notre séjour de cinq nuits. Nous avons eu le sentiment que l’accueil était un peu réservé à notre égard. Peut-être cela était-il lié au fait que nous n’avons pas dîné au restaurant de l’établissement ni pris de consommations sur place. C’est notre deuxième séjour au Sri Lanka et nous avons toujours été habitués à des attitudes chaleureuses, ce qui explique sans doute notre déception cette fois-ci. Cela a quelque peu atténué notre expérience globale.

Wat een paradijs! We hebben het hier geweldig gehad, en daarom zelfs met 4 nachten verlengd. De locatie is fantastisch, dichtbij een mooi en schoon (!) strand en met verschillende eetgelegenheden op loopafstand (en ook een restaurant bij het hotel). De eigenaresse en het andere personeel waren ontzettend, vriendelijk, attent en altijd behulpzaam! We hebben uiteindelijk twee kamers gehad omdat we langer wilden blijven dan we geboekt hadden, beiden kamers waren schoon, heel ruim, met fijne badkamer, airconditioning en een zitje buiten (terras/balkon). De kamer werd dagelijks goed schoongemaakt. Het zwembad is fantastisch en wordt omringd door prachtige bloemen en planten. We vonden het ontbijt lekker; curd & honing, heerlijk vers fruit, toast met boter/jam, ei en koffie & thee. Wij vonden de omgeving heerlijk rustig en er waren voldoende faciliteiten bij het strand (paar eettenten en meerdere plekken met strandbedden met dak), maar mocht je wat meer strandtentjes willen dan moet je met de tuktuk naar een andere badplaats. We hebben hier een hele fijne tijd gehad en raden het zeker aan! Het is nog mooier dan de foto's op booking!

Het restaurant bij het hotel is goed, maar qua prijs-kwaliteitverhouding was het voor Sri Lanka wat uit verhouding; de bruschetta is niet helemaal wat je verwacht te krijgen en de portie pasta (wel heerlijk!) is niet heel groot, maar heeft wel een Europese prijs.

Lovely large 2 bed apartment with amazing views. Kitchen and seating area. Spa area right next door and also yoga each morning. Lovely restaurant focusing on Italian food but also had other choices. Nice swimming pool and a very short walk to a fantastic beach with free sun beds. The sea can be a little rough sometimes for swimming.

Talalla war unsere letzte Station und ideal, um sich nach der Rundreise auszuruhen. Wir haben uns in dem großen, sauberen Zimmer mit Balkon sehr wohlgefühlt und den idyllischen Garten und Pool genossen. Gaby war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück hat uns immer gut geschmeckt. Das Einzige, was beachtet werden sollte, ist, dass sich diese Unterkunft wohl nicht so gut eignet für Menschen, die keine Hunde mögen, da Gaby zwei Labradore hat. Der Strand in Talalla ist sehr lang und schön und (noch?) sind dort relativ wenige Menschen unterwegs. Es gibt mehrere günstige Lokale mit sehr gutem Essen. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Garden villa, as per the name, is set in a beautiful lush green garden with a wonderful pool and comfy sun loungers with pool towels alongside. My room was exceptional with even the smallest details considered. The mattress and pillows were comfy, I had a large wardrobe, plug sockets near the bed, a safe, fridge and beautiful large bathroom with practical storage for everything you could need. The room is stocked with a hairdryer, a yoga mat and an umbrella. There was a lovely private terrace where you can sit out and enjoy the sun and a wooden clothes rack to dry wet swimsuits etc. Nothing is too much to ask of the Garden Villa team. I was volunteering for a local charity and Gaby and her team put on an early breakfast for me every day for a month to make sure I could get to work on time. The restaurant serves wonderful food at a good price that I enjoyed on many occasions with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are warm and friendly and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable. I would definitely stay again if I was returning to Tallala. And of course I must mentioned Lucky and Diva the labradors who were the stars of the show and I will miss their warm welcomes when I got ‘home’.

We stayed for 9 nights and loved the whole place, talalla is super chilled and quiet with a great beach and safe swimming, I swam a1km each day. Gaby runs a super guest house with lovley big rooms, european standard bathroom, good ac and constant hot water. The on-site italian restaraunt was great and the whole place supetr friendley.

One very small update would be to replace the provided small plastic bottles of shampoo and shower gel with fixed dispensers in the shower that can be refilled thus cutting down on single use plastic.

Un hotel muy tranquilo y muy familiar con una dueña y trabajadores muy cercanos, amables y atentos. Ubicacion perfecta, a 3 minutos andando de la playa de Talalla. Para movernos utilizamos Pickme o tuktuk. Desayuno y comida de 10. Se nota que el hotel esta construido con mimo. Además, te ayudan a organizar tus dias y te recomiendan sitios de interes. La dueña tiene dos perritos muy juguetones. Diva y Lucky te alegran la llegada siempre! Lo recomendamos!!

Gaby und ihr Team waren jederzeit sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gabys Liebe zum Detail merkt man überall. Ihr Cappuccino ist ein Traum. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Besonders toll fanden wir auch, dass sie nach dem Zyklon persönlich die Locals der betroffenen Regionen unterstützt. Die Zimmer waren stets sauber, wurden täglich gereinigt, es gab Handtücher für Pool und Strand. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Massage im Haus ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen. Die Unterkunft ist 2 Minuten zu Fuß vom wunderschönen Strand entfernt. Es gibt mehrere Restaurants in der Nähe.

Der schönste Aufenthalt unserer fast vierwöchigen Rundreise. Ein echtes Zuhause auf Reisen. Die Villa liegt nur wenige Meter vom Strand entfernt – wir konnten jederzeit einfach mit Badesachen hin- und zurücklaufen. Direkt am Strand gibt es 2–3 Restaurants, ohne viel laufen zu müssen, mit einem kleinen Spaziergang sogar noch mehr Auswahl. Für uns als Familie und für Schwimmer (nicht Surfer) ist der Strand absolut traumhaft: ruhig, weitläufig, perfekt zum Schwimmen – auch mit Kleinkind – und ideal zum Spielen im Sand. Die Villa selbst ist wunderschön. Die Zimmer sind außergewöhnlich groß, mit viel Platz – etwas, das wir so auf der Reise kaum erlebt haben. Ob auf dem eigenen Balkon oder der oberen Terrasse: perfekt, um morgens die Yogamatte auszurollen. Der Blick geht in den Garten, zum Pool und in den Dschungel – einfach wunderschön, auch zum Sonnenuntergang. Die Betten sind groß, bequem und mit Moskitonetzen ausgestattet. Es gibt schöne Möbel, viel Ablagefläche, Safe, Kühlschrank sowie ein europäisches, sehr hochwertiges Bad. Klimaanlage und Ventilator funktionieren einwandfrei. Im Garten erwartet einen ein wunderschöner Pool, absolute Ruhe und ein großartiges Team, das jederzeit hilft. Das Frühstück ist eines der besten unserer gesamten Reise – geschmacklich wie optisch ein Highlight. Der Kaffee aus der italienischen Siebträgermaschine ist vermutlich einer der besten in Sri Lanka. Abends kann man im hauseigenen italienischen Restaurant essen – für uns das einzige Restaurant in Sri Lanka, in dem italienisches Essen wirklich authentisch geschmeckt hat. Massagen können im Haus gebucht werden, es gibt einen Wäscheservice, Unterstützung bei Ausflügen und bei der Suche nach Yogaklassen. Für uns war es ein Ort zum Ankommen und Abschalten, ohne große Aktivitäten – einfach genießen. Der Abschied fühlte sich an, als würde man sein Zuhause verlassen. Wir wünschen von Herzen, dass dieser besondere Ort noch viele Jahre genauso geführt wird.

Eine liebe Gastgeberin, die ihr Hotel wunderbar führt! Das Zimmer ist geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet was man brauchen könnte. Sogar eine Yogamatte ist vorhanden, Pool- und Strandhandtücher werden ausgegeben! Es ist einfach an alles gedacht! Das Restaurant serviert italienische Küche - richtig leckere Pizza und Pasta. Die Unterkunft ist tierfreundlich

Le personnel gentil et compréhensif

Nous sommes extrêmement déçus par notre séjour. 1 - À notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par deux gros chiens qui nous ont sauté dessus, alors que l’établissement n’accepte pas les animaux. Ces chiens étaient constamment présents, envahissants, jusqu’à mettre le nez sur notre table et circuler sur nos espaces privés. 2 - Dans la chambre, il n’y avait même pas de draps ou couette à notre arrivée uniquement un drap housse – une première durant tout notre voyage au Sri Lanka – et il a fallu insister longuement pour en obtenir. Nous n’avons pas eu d eau chaude uniquement au moment du départ le lendemain, sous prétexte que la chaudière solaire ne fonctionnait pas. Mais le plus choquant reste la découverte d’une caméra pointée vers notre espace privé / terrasse, visible de nuit car elle était en fonctionnement. Arrivés tard le soir, sans éclairage pour accéder à la chambre, c’est justement cette caméra que nous avons aperçue en premier. Nous ne comprenons absolument pas comment cet hébergement peut avoir autant de bons avis. Pour nous, cette expérience a été très anxiogène et inacceptable.

Alles war einfach perfekt. Gaby ist eine außergewöhnlich herzliche Gastgeberin und die Garden Villa ist wunderschön, ruhig und sehr gepflegt. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Die Atmosphäre und die Liebe zum Detail (nicht nur vom zimmer service) machen diesen Ort zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Absolute Empfehlung auch die Lasagne und die Mango-Marmelade zu probieren !

Tout est très bien pensé dans l’aménagement. Chambre très spacieuse. Jardin et piscine magnifique. Le staff est super. Le restaurant propose d’excellents plats. Sans oublier Lucky et diva 🥰

Hemos pasado tres noches excelentes en Garden Villa Talalla. Habitaciones enormes, el baño muy bien equipado. Los exteriores se pueden disfrutar mucho. Nos ha encantado conocer a los dos perros, que son muy cariñosos y dan mucha alegría al lugar. La dueña y todos los trabajadores nos han dado un trato excelente. La playa de Talalla, a 2’ caminando es un lugar excelente para relajarse, con un maravilloso mix de gentes locales y turistas. Lo recomendaríamos sin dudarlo a cualquier amigo!

Top Unterkunft mit richtig toller Gastgeberin Gaby. Gaby ist sehr bemüht um ihre Gäste. Sie hat uns sogar mit unserem Baby ins Krankenhaus begleitet. Sie hat für meinen Mann auch einen Arzt organisiert. Lage ist sehr gut- 2 min vom Strand entfernt. Das gesamte Team der Garden Villa ist äußerst nett und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer werden jeden Tag gereinigt. Alles ist sehr sauber. Der Pool ist auch wirklich toll. Danke für den Aufenthalt! Klare Empfehlung !!

Ein Ort zum Runterfahren. Man fühlt sich herzlich willkommen und das Frühstück ist grossartig. Am Morgen am Strand ein Schwumm und friedlich in den Tag starten.

Modern, zeer comfortabel hotel gelegen op letterlijk 50 meter van een paradijselijk en rustig strand gelegen in de baai van Talalla. Gastvrouw Gaby was de ganse dag in de weer om ons verblijf zo comfortabel en waardevol te maken als mogelijk. Zowel het ontbijt als het avondeten was overheerlijk. De binnentuin met zwembad en ligstoelen zijn prachtig gedecoreerd met bloemen en planten.

Super Villa z pięknym czystym basenem wśród zieleni. Blisko do oceanu 100m. Pokój bardzo duży a wnim znajdziesz wszystko co potrzebujesz a nawet więcej. Jak ktoś lubi ciszę i spokój to to jest miejsce dla Ciebie, ponieważ na tej pięknej plaży nikogo nie ma.

Spacious room. Beautiful gardens and pool. Wonderful hospitality. Gaby is a lovely host. Extremely kind and friendly. Her staff are quiet and unobtrusive. Loved having Diva and Lucky the house dogs around. The food cooked by the chef and Gaby's Italian was fresh and tasty. The mini bar prices are reasonable and there is a small supermarket around the corner. The location is perfectly situated just back from the beach. Gaby will help you arrange transfers, massages (onsite) and is a wealth of information. Staying here, feels like staying at Gaby's home.

Wow, alleen maar wow. Het hotel is van en wordt gerund door een wat oudere Duitse vrouw en dat is te zien. Deutsche grundlichkeit! Het is schoon, de kamers zijn ruim, de service is onberispelijk, goed ontbijt, etc

Niks NB wij waren er in augustus. Dat is buiten het hoogseizoen, het was er zeer rustig, op het enorme strand waren we regelmatig de enige aanwezigen. Prachtig natuurlijk maar er waren wel wat restaurants etc gesloten. Ook de surfschool was gesloten.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, just a few steps from a beautiful beach. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very comfortable, well-equipped, and the pool is a real highlight. Special mention to the breakfast and the pizzas – simply delicious! We stayed for two nights but could have easily stayed longer.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel, sans la moindre fausse note. Gabi a été une hôte attentionnée et irréprochable. Tout était d’une propreté remarquable : la chambre, le jardin, l’espace restauration, jusqu’à la piscine. Des serviettes étaient prévues aussi bien pour la plage que pour la piscine, ce qui est très appréciable. La chambre était très spacieuse, avec un grand balcon agréable pour se détendre. Le petit-déjeuner était généreux, avec une délicieuse confiture maison et une belle assiette de fruits préparée avec soin. Un grand merci pour cette belle hospitalité.

Talalla est très calme en basse saison, peu de lieu où se restaurer, heureusement que Gabi fait aussi restaurant le soir.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It’s beautifully equipped with excellent amenities, including a lovely pool, a relaxing outdoor area, and a charming dining spot. The rooms are spacious, featuring a comfortable bed and a modern, well-equipped bathroom. It is located just steps away from Talalla Beach, a serene and uncrowded beach that felt refreshingly quiet compared to more touristy spots. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with a delicious spread that included a fresh fruit platter, toast, and eggs made to order.

We loved this place only stayed a night should have been a week. Gaby is a great host and her hotel is exceptional. Garden Villa Talalla is a beautiful little hotel close to a nice section of the beach of Talalla. Gaby and her team are very welcoming and made our stay most enjoyable. We loved the breakfast served in the patio adjacent to the pool. Highly recommend to stay at Garden Villa.

What a beautiful place! The pool was heavenly, super clean as was my room. Very spacious with lots of extras. This was one of my favourite stays out of many in Sri Lanka. The owner Gaby gave me a warm welcome, a lovely welcome drink and I got a free room upgrade. Also just a five minutes walk from Talalla beach which is beautiful. Also the included breakfast was superb and so beautifully presented! I had three nights and wish I could have stayed longer. Will hopefully return.

Comfortable, spacy rooms, well equipped and clean. Good breakfest served in the garden and availability of good coffee. Almost perfect location, very close to one of the best Sri Lanka's beaches.

Everything. The owner has build the property to her own high standards and has created a lovely environment. Pool superb, with pool and beach towels available free of charge and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Great breakfast. Good Italian food, wine and coffee which is very unusual. Loved it.

Difficult to fault

Everything was good: spacious and spotless room which was cleaned every day (rare in Sri Lanka), great shower with warm water and good pressure, reasonably priced mini bar and restaurant, super friendly and helpfull owner Gaby, location 1 min from the beautiful Talalla Beach, clean and refreshing pool.

A great location less than 2 minutes from the beach, Gaby provided us with a lovely breakfast and we ate twice in her restaurant which was great. Wine is available there too at a very reasonable price. The pool and surrounding gardens are fantastic and very relaxing. A good shower and a nice terrace with comfortable seating was very welcomed. There's a good little shop only 3 minutes walk away too

The location is perfect, right next to the beach with a little supermarket just around the corner. Gaby the owner was wonderful, she even arranged for me to have a haircut with her regular hairdresser.

After staying at many small Sri Lankan independent hotel / guest houses, from the very north to the south this is undoubtedly the best. One of 2 reviews from me as most other being average: This place is perfectly run, perfectly maintained, great pool and great breakfasts! The evening restaurant offers a mix of Italian and Sri Lankan dishes and after a few weeks traveling nothing beats a homemade Lasagna with a glass of Red! The Beach at 2 mins away is also nr perfect. Even with the rough seas experienced on this coast there is a northern corner that is calm enough to enjoy a good swim. Well done team and Gaby, you run a great establishment. I hope to return with many friends. T

She was always available to help with anything we needed and had some great recommendations for places to see around the area as well. She invited us in very warmly and felt like family when it was time to finally leave. We would definitely stay here again! The room was gorgeous, very large, and had everything you could want (with European quality/standards too!). The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was luxurious with a separate shower area so the floor did not get wet in the main area. The shower head and hot water were great as well! Breakfasts with Gaby were delicious and the perfect balance of variety and quantity. We really appreciated the homemade jam and beautiful flower decorations as well! We will be dreaming of this room and this experience as we continue our travels in Asia. Thank you again for an amazing stay!

What a little paradise! The lovely host created a beautiful place to relax and feel at home. Spacious, clean and very well equipped rooms, especially considering the low prices. Also the garden is beautiful and very well taken care of. We stayed there for a week, reading at the pool and enjoying the beach, which is a 1 min walk away. Great breakfast and the restaurant offering italian dishes was a welcome change to all the rice and curry.

Great accommodation - exactly as per photos. The room was very large with a big private balcony. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water. The pool was wonderful and very clean. Comfortable sun loungers with good quality parasols in a pretty, well kept garden. Plenty of monkeys to entertain you. The breakfast was good with great Italian coffee. Melinda the Manager was really friendly, engaging & had a good sense of humour. Nice, quiet location and only a very short walk to the beach and a few restaurants.

Worth noting that AC is extra at this accommodation but that being said there was a ceiling fan and also a wall mounted fan so we didn't need it anyway.

Peaceful, tranquil, and a fantastic pool. Everything was spotlessly clean and Gaby and her staff couldn’t do enough to help.

The manager, Milinda, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean, we could play inside with our child. The pool was very clean and we enjoyed it very much. Breakfast was great too!

The location was a little disappointing not many good restaurants around (but a really nice one just a few steps from the property called Fire Fly). The waves were very big at the time we visited so we couldn’t enjoy swimming in the sea.

Gabi, the owner, is very kind and welcoming - always ready to help you! The rooms are spotless, well equipped and they are well isolated so the room keeps a good temperature even without using the AC. The basic breakfast provides fresh products and a good presentation. Finally the location is 2-3 minutes walking distance to the beach - on top of that you can also use the swimming pool.

A beautiful villa in a pretty quiet village surrounded by tropical green and monkeys. The rooms are big, clean and well decorated and we liked the balcony. At the end, the owner as well as the staff make you feel comfortable and breakfast is super!

We had a wonderful stay at the Garden Villa and can totally recommend this place. Most likely the best place to stay when visiting Talalla. The hotel staff is super friendly, the breakfast is delicious and the pool within the super green garden is really nice. Rooms are well equipped, clean and come with mosquito nets. The beautiful beach and good restaurants are only a 2 minute walk away.

Beautiful pool and gardens. Very short walk to the beach. Immaculately clean, large comfortable room with balcony. Thoughtful touches in the room like tea, filtered water, torch, toiletries and plug in mosquito repellent. Good bathroom with plenty of hot water. Friendly, helpful host (Gabi). The proper coffee machine. Good breakfast. Lovely and quiet, but a couple of eating options very nearby.

Wish we could have stayed for longer

The host was helpful to us prior our arrival, but once there compared to the amazing hospitality we received at previous homestays in Sri Lanka it was just a 2/10 and this for the triple of the price we paid in some homestays. The breakfast is also not comparable to the other accomodations we have been, which had way more quantity and weren’t that pricey. We just has breakfast once at the Hotel and choosed to go out for the next days at the breakfast outside the hotel offered just better quantity and quality for a much better price. Overall it is just not comparable to the amazing hospitality we got from the locals, where the hosts are so helpful. It is the little things during our stay at the villa garden that have brought us dissapointment like asking for the prices of the laundry 3 times. We had dinner at the hotel once and were sit down with the owner and the other guests, which was very uncomfortable since we werent expecting it, and is just a “german” action. Chanaka, the manager, was extremely helpful and friendly with us, making our stay comfortable. However we were disappointed with the owner’s lack of hospitality and kindness.

It would have been nice to be able to pay on card or through .com, i managed to make a online payment in the end as cash is king in this area.

This small and very private seeming hotel is a tranquil oasis built and run to an exquisite standard by the owner (Gabi, the charming German owner is clearly an accepted and much respected member of this small community - far from being an expat). All of Gabi's support staff operate to a quiet level of excellence that is so appealing it makes on wish one could linger here for months, not mere days. Garden Villa is situated on a quiet country lane no more than four minutes stroll to the tranquility and outstanding beauty of Talalla Beach. This is in every way a haven (unless of course you prefer the scruffy crush and higher charges of Mirissa).

Gabbi and Chanuka were the most wonderful hosts, a real home from home. The property, pool and garden is beautiful. We booked the triple room, which was huge and had a great size balcony too. Location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach which is one the most peaceful we have seen on our trip. Proper coffee was such a treat and the breakfast was delicious. We can’t wait to try and make our own Sri Lankan omelettes at home! Highly recommend and thank you for making it such a special experience
