Le personnel est tres aimable et arrangeant. Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien décorées et confortables. Le petit déjeuner est varié, frais et très bon. Les environs sont calmes et petit plus avec un charmant petit spa a quelque mètre.

L'hôtel est calme. Les chambres sont grandes et bien agencées.Le personnel propose les services nécessaires pour passer un agréable séjour. La piscine est un plus. Le quartier dispose de nombreux restaurants agréables.Tam Coc est à 15' en scooter.

Les chambres sont un peu sombres mais la végétation de l'hôtel est juste magique.

Heerlijke plek, prachtig tropisch zwembad. Alles kleinschalig, leuke familie die het verblijf runnen. De eigenaars zijn Vietnamees-Australisch. Onze kinderen speelde met de kinderen van de eigenaars. Hele relaxte sfeer op een perfecte locatie. Weg van de drukte maar heel dichtbij gezellige restaurants. Alles op wandel en fiets afstand, GRAB werkt er ook goed.

De lokatie is top! In een rustig straatje, maar wel vlakbij restaurantjes en de spa en vlakbij Trang An en Tam Coc. De huisjes zijn super, zwembad perfect en heel lief en behulpzaam personeel. Ontbijt is erg lekker!

It is a wonderful peaceful place to spend sometime. The setting is beautiful and the location worked very well for us. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and relaxing. Free bikes so you can explore the beautiful surrounding area. The staff were very friendly. We had a couple of issues and they sorted them very quickly. Would definitely recommend The Wooden Gate.

The restaurant set up was not as we expected. Staff weren't always there to serve you. Limited menu. However, there are lots of local restaurants nearby to walk or cycle to.

I absolutely LOVED staying here!! The property is just beautiful, it’s quiet and green, it felt like we were in a private oasis. The pool was the perfect place for cooling off every afternoon.

The only issue was not having internet access in our room (2 bedroom villa, our room was upstairs) or tv, but it was sort of like being forced off-grid for a bit, which is never a bad thing.

La chambre était vraiment très sombre alors que les photos montrent une chambre lumineuse. Durant notre séjour, il y avait des coupures de wifi et d'électricité (donc pas de clim ni de ventilateurs..). Il était difficile d'aérer la chambre

Peaceful surroundings. The jungle vibe was very relaxing, lovely pool and nicely decorated rooms with linen bedding and comfortable beds. Good spacious rooms and bathrooms. Free bikes to use- in good condition too! Free breakfast was very nice, good selection. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room was not as advertised and when reading other reviews, the staff knows this too, despite of trying to pretend they didn’t understand what I was talking about. The rooms are tiny and there’s no private kitchenette (there is a shared one). Also the WiFi was a disaster. Service, or the complete lack of it, was the worst. I didn’t stay here as the room was tiny and definitely not as described. The staff knows this but didn’t give a refund. I rather lost my money and stayed elsewhere than stayed here.

Lovely small bed & breakfast. Location worked for us, great to have use of bicycles that were well maintained.

Loved the fact it was tucked away from the hustle and bustle - it was like being in your own little tropical oasis. After a hotel stay it was good to have more living space and really helpful having access to a washing machine. Pool was fantastic for cooling down after sightseeing. Lan was a great host with lots of local knowledge and good suggestions about where to go and when. We can highly recommend the mango smoothies!

Breakfast options were a bit limited but that’s only to be expected with a smaller venue and we’d been very spoilt for choice in Hanoi.

Wie leider so häufig sind die Kleinigkeiten, die optimierbar sind: das Frühstück ist überschaubar und wenig einfallsreich. Die Klimaanlagen sind sehr schwach und es wird nachts sehr warm. Die Waschmaschine riecht leider und dementsprechend auch die Wäsche. Am (schönen) Pool gibt es eine riesige unbequeme Sitzbank, aber keine Liegen (nur einzelne, kaputte Beachbarliegen). Hier fehlt die Liebe zum Detail.

Die Lage außerhalb von Ninh Binh war mit Grab gut zu erreichen; vor Ort gab es im Hotel kostenlose Fahrräder (unsere allerdings ohne Licht und Schloß), um die flache Umgebung zu erkunden. Der Gärtner hat vorher noch Luft aufgepumpt :-) Auch nach dem Auschecken durften wir die Räder bis zur abendlichen Abreise nutzen, ebenso Pool und Dusche. Das Gepäck wurde aufbewahrt. Zimmer C1 mit Terrasse zum begrünten, tropisch anmutenden Innenhof war gemütlich eingerichtet: großzügig mit schönem Bad (große Wanne), breitem Bett, hübschen Bodenfliesen und vielen Ablagemöglichkeiten. Schöner Pool, Badetücher und Liegestühle werden bereitgestellt. Das Personal war insgesamt sehr freundlich.

Beim Check-In gab es Unstimmigkeiten mit dem gebuchten Zimmer, das als "Deluxe-Doppelzimmer mit Balkon" angeboten wurde. Wir bekamen aber die "Familiensuite" im EG mit zusätzlichem Stockbett und Terrasse. Zwar letztlich in Ordnung, aber die obere Etage wäre angenehmer und das Zimmer etwas hübscher gewesen. Nachdem die Managerin angerufen wurde, bot sie an, für die Folgenacht in das gebuchte Zimmer umzuziehen, was wir aber der Umstände wegen ablehnten. Sie sagte, bei ihnen wären alle Kategorien gleich - auf booking.com wird aber offenbar unterschieden. Das Frühstück war nicht ganz so nach unserem Geschmack, eines der schlechtesten in Vietnam (vielleicht nur unsere falsche Wahl). Im Zimmer gab es leider keine Tee-/Kaffeeration, um den Wasserkocher zu nutzen, Tassen fehlten ebenso (bekamen wir dann an der Rezeption). Nach der ersten Nacht wurden die Handtücher gewechselt, das Bett aber nicht gemacht. Andersrum wäre es sinnvoller gewesen. Sonst nichts zu bemängeln!

Very calm and serene place. It is walkable to Trang An main road with good restaurants and bars while being in a very calm back road. Unfortunately we had to end our stay earlier as we had a change of plans but we were extremely well treated at The Wooden Gate! If you want to stay away from Tam Coc's busy streets this is a great choice!

Very good location, plenty of room in our apartment. Staff friendly and loved the pool.

Communication with older staff, no blame we don't speak Vietnamese but it meant things got lost in translation. Couldn't order a drink from the bar even though it was only 7pm,placed an order for one breakfast option and received something different. Nothing terrible by any means but explains the rating

Frühstück ist a la carte und man erhält nur ein Gericht und ein Getränk. Hier könnte man zumindest eine Getränke flatmate anbieten. Die Zimmer sind etwas „feucht“ durch das Klima und das Grün im Hotel. Hier wird geholfen, da jeder Zimmer über einen Lufttrockner verfügt.

Bien placé dans une petite rue calme. Le jardin est super luxuriant. C'est vraiment orné de plantes et de végétation. Les chambres sont grandes, bien équipées. Des vélos sont prêtés qui permettent ainsi de se balader vers les sites touristiques. Présence de très bons restaurants locaux à proximité (2/3 min en vélo)

Een heerlijke setting, beetje weg van de drukte doch meer dan voldoende horeca op wandel/fietsafstand. Heel gezellig ingerichte binnentuin. Leuk dat je voor ongeveer 5 euro per dag een brommertje kan huren. Onze kamer was ongelooflijk ruim en gezellig ingericht. Fijn om een balkonnetje te hebben. Ontbijt dien je avond op voorhand te bestellen. Was zeker ok, maar niet voldoende. Hou er rekening mee dat er mensen achteraan de erf wonen. Zelf vond ik dat al eens rumoerig worden en de rust verstoren. Maar hoe dan ook een topverblijf!

Soggiorno fantastico, posizione a 5 minuti a piedi dalla strada principale. È facile raggiungere tam coc o Trang an, si può prendere la bici gratuita di giorno oppure un Grab se è buio. Silenziosa , ottima per rilassarsi dopo una giornata intensa. Arredata con gusto e immersa tra la vegetazione

The wooden gate is a total pleasure to stay at. Fantastic staff, great little villas sleep 5. Great breakfast fee bikes and really easy to get to sightseeing and food spots.

Location was perfect, central and quiet. Staff were lovely and it was a highlight to be met by the caretaker on our late night arrival. Breakfast was yummy, the pool was divine and the room was gorgeous

This is a very well-maintained and pleasant accommodation near Hang Mua. All the staff are friendly, and the meals and drinks provided are excellent. It's perfect for a quiet rest. It was the most comfortable place during my 10 days in Ninh Binh.

Very peaceful spot that felt secluded even though it's in the heart of Ninh Binh. Comfortable beds and clean floors and bathrooms. Great space for a family of four. Bikeable to many great cafes and restaurants and a short drive to attractions. Loved the pool, the cat and the daily breakfasts. Excellent friendly service

We loved our stay at the wooden gate - it was a relaxing and peaceful. The family room was spacious and beautiful. The bicycles were great and we toured around the lovely area with our kids. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was super nice.

The Wooden Gate is lovely, our room was spacious and very comfortable with a big bathroom. So easy going, the staff were lovely, most didn’t speak English but that wasn’t an issue, Lan was on hand via WhatsApp and nothing was a problem. Great bonus with the availability of a washer/dryer too. Bikes are available and walking around was easy. Lots of nice eateries within walking distance, where you could sit out on the river. Just perfect…..there was a lovely feeling of community

Location was beautiful, they had free bikes to rent which we rode around to access nearby sites. The staff were very friendly, and they went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay

Beautifully maintained gardens and lovely boho decor in the rooms. Apart from Lan (who was available over what's app) the other staff didn't speak much English but were friendly and we were able to communicate over translator app. The pool area was a nice oasis to sit beside. You have hire scooters and use the free bikes to get to places like dragon mountain and Trang An boat rides as it's slightly too far for walking but that wasn't a problem for us

Amazing place to stay in Ninh Binh! No need to look elsewhere!

We had a lovely stay at The Wooden Gate. Very clean rooms and grounds. Lovely staff. Walking distance to restaurants. Loved having the use of free cycles, we cycled around the local rice fields and to Trang An. Good breakfast. Great to have use of the washer and dryer. Lan was very helpful and booked our bus tickets to go to Sapa for us.

Der wunderschöne Garten , wir haben uns wie in einer Oase gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind sehr großzügig und gemütlich , Moskitonetz , Ventilatoren , Klimaanlage top und relativ leise .Dusche & Badewanne . Täglich frische Handtücher, Bett wurde nicht gemacht. Hat uns nicht gestört . Alles sehr sauber . Kleine Teeküche mit Kühlschrank. Täglich 2 kleine Flaschen Wasser . Unser Appartement war im 1.stock mit Balkon , Sitzplatz und sitzpolstern. Frühstück einfach , aber sehr gut. Fahrräder jederzeit verfügbar , wir durften sie einfach selbst nehmen . In der Umgebung nette Restaurant s verfügbar, Taschenlampe oder Stirnlampe mitnehmen . Waschmaschine und Trockner jederzeit gratis verfügbar und zugänglich . Schöner Pool, wunderschöne Gartenanlage , die täglich gereinigt wird . Sitzgelegenheiten am Pool . Überdachter , offener Frühstücksraum- Kamin für kühlere , nasse Tage .

Loved our stay here. Lan was very helpful and kind throughout. Lovely, clean place, and good location- not too close to the main buzz of town and in a quiet location. The breakfast is a la carte(you order the night before from a set menu) and pretty decent.

The rooms are a bit dark for reading/working etc, and you can hear other guests through the walls. Other than that, very comfortable.

The staff is really kind and helpful. Bicycles were good. Food was delicious.

There were sometimes small issues with the water supply, but not for days only for hours. Everything alse was perfect

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this property. Amazing garden and pool setting, very nice design of the rooms (although furniture slightly dated), friendly hosts, free washing service, free bikes.

Although outside of Tam Coc, mass tourism has already left its unpleasant scars in this village... Although in a quiet side street, construction work is ongoing... partially very loud and heavy construction work on a Saturday evening even after 11pm. Staff onsite does not speak english, translate apps work and a connection via whatsapp to somebody who speaks english exists though.

Everything was great! The staff were terrific, very friendly and helpful, breakfast was perfect, very tasty and adequate in size. The room was fantastic - large with plenty of space to relax spread out, all the facilities were excellent. Great little pool, the surrounds were well maintained. The location is central to most attractions and some great little local eateries.

So eine tolle Unterkunft! Perfekt gelegen fernab des Trubels, aber nahe an den Mua Caves und Trang An. Wunderschöne kleine Anlage, sehr gepflegt. Unser Zimmer war groß und sauber. Besonders aber war auch das Team: Die Besitzerin meldete sich schon vorab per WhatsApp und organisierte einen Fahrer, der uns vom Bahnhof abholte - und war auch sonst für alle Fragen erreichbar. Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort waren sehr freundlich und machten ein köstliches Frühstück!

The cat was a bit of a pain at meals times begging for food but seems to happen everywhere. No tv for the kids, but not a big deal. Hubby is over 6ft so hit his head a couple times.

Too many mozzies but that could have been due to recent rain. Location was a bit remote with no other restaurants nearby but hotel food was good quality.

C'est la seconde fois que j'y reviens. Toujours aussi bien. Le personnel est très aidant. Ils arrangent les transports depuis Hanoï. La nourriture est convenable. Bon petit déjeuner. Les vélos sont très confortables et bien entretenus.

La dernière fois (février) et encore cette fois (août) la chambre est vraiment humide. Les draps sont très humides. Un déshumidificateur ne ferait pas de mal.

El único pero sería la humedad pero fácilmente se soluciona con humificador o aire acondicionado.

Hôtel très bien situé avec un jardin luxuriant. Très bon petit déjeuner et hôtes très accueillants !

一踏入這個住宿就像來到一個與世隔絕的世外桃源，游泳池很美，房間也很美，浴室非常地大甚至有自然的採光，浴缸比一般大很多而且躺起來很舒適，還有兩組蓮蓬頭可以同時使用。租機車的話一天150越南幣，叫grab很快就會來，要去河內的話一人250越南幣，可以自己選時間。早餐大約有快要10種可以選擇，飲料有果汁果昔和咖啡茶等，可以選兩杯。 老闆的英文沒有很好但很親近，一切都非常地美好。

El alojamiento es muy bonito y está decorado con mucho gusto, además tiene una piscina muy agradable. Ofrece servicio de bicicletas y lavandería gratuito y un desayuno muy rico, lo que le da un plus.

La parte negativa es que el personal es muy serio y poco cercano. En comparación con el resto de alojamientos en los que hemos estado en Vietnam, en los que el personal es de lo más simpático y atento, en este alojamiento no es así, lo que nos resultó muy raro. Otra parte negativa es la ubicación, aunque está cerca de todos los lugares de interés en bicicleta (no caminando), los caminos para llegar al alojamiento son oscuros si se hace de noche, además de que no hay mucha oferta de restauración cerca de la zona.

Gorgeous little place with friendly, helpful staff. Organised transport for us and even made us an early breakfast when we had to leave for the airport. Lovely pool and great location, handy to Trang An and Mua Cave. Free bikes and they will do washing for free also. Breakfast was simple but adequate and tasty. Would definitely stay again.

Some decent sun lounges would improve the pool experience.

Great relaxing place to stay. Bikes made it super easy to explore the area. Staff especially the night man very helpful. Great at responding to messages for advice and helped book onward travel.

The garden is beautiful, nice to hang out at the pool and watch the goats "on the mountain" Also the room and the bathroom are spacious.

The breakfast is good but you can only choose one item from the list and the portions are small. We asked if we could have two plates which was no problem at all. However, we weren't told that we have to pay extra for it. That was an unpleasant surprise at the end of our trip Unfortunately, I haven't seen the staff smiling... compared to all other places we have stayed where all people were very friendly, smiling a lot and helpful, it was strange to experience the opposite here.

We loved it: design of the place, location, free bicycles, the vibe, the outdoor feel, great food. Perfect for families!

Comfy clean and very convenient to visit Ninh Bin. Everything was perfect and made to make you spend a great moment.

The villas are very tastefully furnished and have comfortable beds. The garden with the swimming pool is absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood is amazingly quiet at night. You can rent a motorbike or take one of the bikes to drive across the rice field to Tam Coc village.

This lovely hotel is situated in a peaceful area, away from the busy crowds of Tam Coc. The rooms and hotel grounds are beautifully designed and well maintained. The staff provided good service, and the hotel offers bicycles, which are convenient for visiting Mua Caves—just a five-minute ride away. For breakfast, you select your meal the night before, ensuring it is freshly prepared when you sit down in the morning. Although most attractions require a taxi, transportation was never an issue despite the secluded location. Overall, this is a highly recommended place to stay in Ninh Binh.

The only drawback was the transfer service arranged through the hotel, as the company they used attempted to charge us extra upon arrival in Hanoi. While this may not be the hotel's fault, it's something to be mindful of.

The best place i've evere stayed in my life. The place is sooo beautifull, the rooms so comfortable and cosy, the staff was really polite and open. I tottally suggest this place, and it is close to manu staff. They also have bicycles you can take. Amaziing

The accommodation was very good with very helpful staff and excellent facilities. They included a drive to Tam Coc to pick up our bus provided bikes to explore the area and had laundry options for free. The location is very good as well since it's not far from Tam Coc or Trang An boat tours even with a bike. We enjoyed the place a lot and can highly recommend it.
