The owner was extremely helpful and upgraded our room for only half the difference. The suite was lovely and view of the lake amazing. A lovely place to stay and very relaxing.

Location

The guy at the reception has a horrible attitude. He does not know how to talk to guests. His behavior has trickled down to all his staff. Restaurant is under staffed and the servers appear to be disgruntled and going through the motions.

Everything was top notch. Beautiful, tastefully decorated hotel, clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and great dinner. A truly wonderful experience.

We could not get a room facing the lake,

Die Lage ist sehr schön, direkt am See, ein schöner Garten. Das Hotel war sehr sauber und schön ausgestattet. Das Hallenbad ist ebenfalls sehr groß und schön.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Südseite, wie fast alle Zimmer in diesem Hotel. Schon als wir ankamen, war es in dem Zimmer sehr heiß, wir haben 29 Grad gemessen. Es gab keine Markise am Balkon, dadurch war der Balkon tagsüber nicht nutzbar. Es gab keine Klimaanlage, keine Rollläden und auch keine Rollos, nur ein dünner Vorhang, der als Sonnenschutz nicht geeignet ist. Wir haben den Wirt darauf angesprochen, ob es nicht vielleicht ein anderes Zimmer gäbe. Wir wurden ziemlich barsch abgewiesen mit der Aussage, dass es früher nie so heiß war und dass in dieser Gegend alle Hotels keine Klimaanlage hätten und wir sollten die Vorhänge und die Balkontür geschlossen halten und in der Nacht würde es abkühlen. In den Nächten hat es kaum unter 20 Grad abgekühlt und wir konnten sehr schlecht schlafen. Außerdem waren die Matratzen oder Topper stark durchgelegen, in der Mitte bildete sich eine Kuhle. Das Frühstück wurde serviert, es gab kein Buffett. Dagegen ist prinzipiell nichts einzuwenden, wenn das Frühstück qualitativ besser gewesen wäre. z. B. die "frischen Früchte" waren jeden Tag ein Salat aus hauptsächlich grob geschnittenen ungeschälten Apfelstücken und noch etwas Melone, keine Zitrusfrüchte, keine Beeren, keine Ananas. Es gab an 7 Tagen jeden Tag die gleiche gelbe Marmelade, die nur süß schmeckte, man konnte nicht erkennen, welche Frucht es sein sollten.

Die Lage direkt am See ist wunderschön, man ist mit wenigen Schritten trotzdem in der Ortsmitte. Das Personal in den Servicebereichen ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, immer hilfsbereit und unterstützend sodass jeder Gast eine schöne Zeit verbringen kann. Wer solche Mitarbeiter um sich hat kann sehr stolz sein!

Für die Zukunft würde ich der klimatologischen Veränderung mit immer mehr Hitzetagen Rechnung tragen und alle Zimmer mit Klimaanlagen ausstatten für noch mehr Ruhezonen für die Gäste.

Top-Lage direkt am See und auch direkt im Zentrum, mit eigenem Privatstrand, wobei hier immer darauf geachtet wird, dass die Liegewiese nicht übervoll ist - daher auch nur späterer Check-in bzw. Benutzung bis 13 Uhr am Abreisetag möglich. Aber dafür immer genug Platz. Zudem gibt es SUPs kostenlos zum Ausborgen. Frühstück auf der Terrasse und auch BBQ sind sensationell. Personal überaus freundlich. Ebenfalls traumhaft: Sauna im Bootshaus mit Blick auf See. Es hat einfach alles gepasst!

Die einzige Kleinigkeit, die man noch verbessern könnte: eine Kapsel-Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer. Wir genießen in der Früh vor dem Frühstück und vor dem Schwimmen gehen immer schon mal gerne eine Tasse Kaffee. Aber das ist wirklich nur eine Kleinigkeit.

The private garden with direct access to the Lake was wonderful. We could borrow sups for free which we enjoyed very much. The food in the Hotel was delicious and the personell very friendly and they tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had the most beautiful balconyview over de lake.

I had been looking forward to this stay because of the generally positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience did not meet the expectations I would normally associate with a four-star hotel. The décor is quierky at best, and our double room was quite dark. The ceiling lights appeared to have an intermittent fault, and the bedside lamps did not function properly. Air conditioning was especially important to us because I am pregnant. At the time of booking, the property appeared in searches filtered for air conditioning, although I later saw that the individual room description did not specifically state that our room had it. We were told that only certain rooms were air-conditioned. No alternative room was available, so the hotel provided a fan. Unfortunately, even on its lowest setting, it was extremely loud (50 decibel) and made sleeping difficult. We left the balcony door open instead, but this allowed insects into the room. We also found ants under the bed and in the bathroom, as well as what appeared to be a small area of mould behind the sink. The gym was dark, and the air conditioning either was not available or was not switched on. As I was unable to sleep properly, we decided to leave after the first night and requested a refund for the second. The initial discussion with the owner was - extremely - unpleasant. When I joined the conversation, he described me as aggressive, although the exchange was brief, and said that he would only speak to my husband. I found this dismissive and inappropriate. He ultimately agreed to refund the second night, which I appreciated. Breakfast was attractively presented, but it is not a buffet and the selection is fairly limited. We were told that an omelette was not available and that only scrambled eggs could be ordered. Overall, I found the hotel overpriced for the standard of the room and facilities. Based on our experience, it felt closer to a three-star property than a four-star hotel.

Beautiful garden with a ladder to the lake. Paddle boards are available for free, self-service. Amazing indoor pool, nobody goes there in the summer so you can have it to yourself. View is incredible. Room was very large. Bike rental right next door. Easy parking. Staff was very nice and welcoming. In short: the best time we had in Austria, we stayed for 4 nights but could have stayed more than a week.

Very little we can say here. Room becomes very hot and stays hot during the night, however the hotel generously provided a fan which helped. We didn't eat at the restaurant because there were no vegan options at breakfast, and for dinner there was one vegetarian choice.

Alles ist gut organisiert. Die Inneneinrichtung ist stilvoll und sehr komfortabel. Das Personal ist freundlich. Das Frühstück am See ist wunderschön.

1) Die beiden Personen an der Rezeption sind grundsätzlich freundlich und hilfsbereit, in gewissen Situationen jedoch etwas zu bestimmt, sodass wir uns gezwungen fühlen, die „vorgeschlagenen” Anweisungen ausführen zu müssen. 2) Beim Frühstück ist alles sehr frisch, aber die Brote aus dem wunderschönen Brotkorb sind wirklich nicht resch. Das ist einfach sehr schade für das sonst liebevoll zusammengestellte Angebot.

Stilvoll eingerichtetes Hotel in toller Atmosphäre. Der Liegebereich direkt am See ist schön angelegten mit schattigen Plätzchen unter Bäumen. Auch gefallen hat mir der Billard-Tisch in der Lobby - super Ausklang eines schönen Urlaubstages.

Our stay at Cortisen am See was simply outstanding and deserves every one of its five stars. The setting is breathtaking. The views over the lake are spectacular and truly one of a kind. The boathouse experience alone is worth the visit and created some of the most memorable moments of our trip. We were able to completely relax, disconnect from everyday life, and reconnect with nature and the beautiful surroundings. The hotel itself is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. Every space reflects great care, with fascinating contemporary art pieces and stylish décor that make the property feel unique and sophisticated without losing its warmth. We also enjoyed the excellent gym, which was well-equipped and highly functional. The billiard room was another highlight—having a game while enjoying a glass of whisky was a wonderful way to spend the evening. The charming center of St. Wolfgang is only a short walk away, making it easy to explore the town. Breakfast was excellent, beautifully presented, and served with great attention to detail. Most importantly, the staff made our stay truly special. Roland welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It is clear that hospitality is a core value of the hotel, and it makes a tremendous difference to the overall experience. Although the weather during our stay was rainy, it did not diminish our enjoyment in the slightest. In fact, it added a special atmosphere and made the scenery even more dramatic and memorable. We would love to return in the future, hopefully during warmer weather, to fully enjoy the lake as well. Thank you to the entire Cortisen am See team for an unforgettable stay.

A beautiful property with an excellent location. I arrived via bus from Bad Ischl (nice day visit) and it is very close to the drop off. Took the boat to St. Gilden and bus from there to Saltzburg - perfect! Easy to walk either direction around town and to transportation. Very relaxing and hotel management and staff are very welcoming. I had a wonderful room, felt like an apartment, with an excellent view of the lake and mountains. So restorative after big city visits and lots to see in this town. Fun atmosphere, great for solo travelers!

Unser Aufenthalt war einfach hervorragend! Schon beim Check-in wurden wir unglaublich freundlich empfangen und das gesamte Personal war während des ganzen Aufenthalts aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell. Man fühlt sich hier wirklich als Gast willkommen. Besonders begeistert hat uns das Frühstück – eine große Auswahl, frische Produkte und alles liebevoll vorbereitet. Egal ob süß oder herzhaft, hier findet wirklich jeder etwas. Ein perfekter Start in den Tag! Das gesamte Hotel war außerdem äußerst gepflegt und beeindruckend sauber. Sowohl die Zimmer als auch alle öffentlichen Bereiche waren in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Der Service war insgesamt erstklassig: schnell, zuverlässig und immer mit einem Lächeln. Man merkt sofort, dass hier großer Wert auf Qualität und Gastfreundschaft gelegt wird. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Das gesamte Team war stets sehr freundlich und nett, das Zimmer stets sauber, bereits nach dem Frühstück war es prompt gepflegt, das Frühstück war geschmacklich sehr gut und reichhaltig. Wir haben es außerdem als positiv empfunden dass kein Buffet angeboten wird, sondern a la Carte. Das ist sehr nachhaltig aber unserer Meinung nach kein Nachteil für den Gast. Die Aussicht im Zimmer mit Seeblick war traumhaft. Mit so einer tollen Aussicht startet man gut in den Tag. Wir danken dem gesamten Team für einen sehr erholsamen und traumhaften Urlaub und kommen gerne wieder.

Our stay at Cortisen Am See was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived we were impressed. The service was attentive and the staff were truly lovely. The beautiful decorations, special art pieces, and elegant interior design gave the entire hotel a unique and luxurious atmosphere. The rooms were, stylish, and filled with character. The bed was comfortable. The lake view from the balcony is a must. There is plenty of space to lounge, both indoors and outdoors—perfect for relaxing with a book or enjoying the peaceful ambiance. The lake access and breathtaking lake views were stunning, and we loved being just steps away from the water. The restaurant and bar area was another highlight. Every meal was a treat—dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and we especially enjoyed the grilled lunch by the lake. For wellness and activity, we made use of the sauna, the well-equipped gym, and the lap pool that added a great balance to our stay. We felt truly pampered. The location is also ideal—within easy walking distance to town center, schafberg mountain area and lakeside strolls. There are several fantastic hiking trails nearby that offer unforgettable views. The entire experience was relaxing, serene, and beautifully executed. There was truly nothing more we could ask for.We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Cortisen Am See.
