Finca Cuipo

Fuimos por recomendación de unos amigos y superó todas nuestras expectativas. Es un lugar verdaderamente único, ubicado en lo alto de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, con unas vistas espectaculares al mar y a la desembocadura del río Buritaca. Lo que hace especial a este sitio: - Privacidad y tranquilidad absoluta: Solo tienen tres cabañas, lo que garantiza una desconexión total, un ambiente íntimo y la sensación de estar solo en medio de la naturaleza. Además, la piscina con vistas al mar y al río es un espectáculo. - Atención y calidez de los anfitriones: Helmut y Fiona, los dueños, cuidan hasta el más mínimo detalle. No solo te ayudan con toda la logística previa, durante y posterior a tu estancia, sino que además comparten con total cercanía su experiencia y vivencias en la zona a través de charlas apasionantes e inspiradoras que le dan un valor humano increíble a la estancia. - Recomendaciones locales de calidad: Te aconsejan los mejores planes, desde cómo visitar el Parque Tayrona hasta rincones menos conocidos y sin aglomeraciones. - Gastronomía exquisita: La cocina es increíble. Los desayunos incluyen frutas cosechadas directamente en su finca, opciones tradicionales colombianas y jugos naturales. Las cenas no se quedan atrás, ¡cada plato fue delicioso! Sin duda, un 10/10 en todo. Volveríamos sin pensarlo dos veces. Si estás dudando en reservar, no lo pienses más: es el lugar perfecto para descansar y disfrutar de la Sierra.

Finca Cuipo is an incredible place to stay, made even better by the extremely friendly hosts, Fiona and Helmut. The food was a major highlight of the trip: Fiona makes a truly delicious breakfast to start the day, and Helmut cooks absolutely fantastic dinners. They are both great conversationalists and very helpful with recommending local activities. Fiona shared wonderful insights about the property and the surrounding area, while Helmut and I had fascinating talks ranging from health and food to AI and Large Language Models. Finally, if you are an active traveler, I highly recommend doing a trail run right from the property. The routes and views are incredibly rewarding. I cannot recommend this stay enough!

Fiona und Helmut haben einen ganz besonderen Ort geschaffen. Es war eine richtig schöne Zeit, dort mitten im Grünen und der tollen Aussicht. 😍 Das Essen war super lecker, Fiona und Helmut sind tolle Gastgeber und kümmern sich in ganz außergewöhnlicher Weise um ihre Gäste. Der schönste Platz in unserem Urlaub. Danke für die Zeit!

The cabins are beautiful and luxurious with amazing views in the heart of nature. The hosts always went above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and having a nice stay. The breakfast was amazing, and Helmut and Fiona are wonderful chefs.

Nous sommes arrivés dans ce petit coin de paradis entre jungle et mer et avons passé 3 jours hors du temps. Après un petit déjeuner exceptionnel, se reposer à la piscine avec une vue sublime sur la mer est un moment de pur bonheur. La cabane est somptueuse, douche dehors dans un décor à couper le souffle, hamac sur le balcon à la nuit tombée, des souvenirs pleins la tête. Merci à nos hôtes adorables et aux petits soins, vous avez rendu notre séjour inoubliable. Merci à Keyli pour sa gentillesse et son délicat petit déjeuner.

Accueil, exceptionnel de la part de Fiona et Helmut durant nos trois jours de séjour. Un lieu hors du temps pour déconnecter ou se reconnecter à la nature. Les chambres sont dans des petits chalets individuels en pleine nature et sont très propres et très agréable avec une vue exceptionnelle sur la jungle et la mer. Le lieu respire le bien être, la piscine a une vue magnifique. La cuisine d’Helmut pour le dîner du soir est délicieuse. Petit déjeuner excellent. Idéalement situé entre le parc de Tayrona et des belles vallées autour de Palomino. Fiona et Helmut nous ont donné de nombreux conseils de visites pour profiter au mieux de la région. Bref tout est parfait, une adresse à recommander !

Our stay at Finca Cuipo was great. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every moment. The welcome was very warm, the cabin with a view of the jungle ánd the sea was sublime, the pool was soothing and the food delicious. I can recommend it to everyone

Can't think of a thing

Views from remote cabins are stunning and nearby jungle is pristine. Owners are looooooovely and their cuisine healthy and inventive. It is hard to leave this peaceful hidden heaven...

That their kitty Aquila is not to sell :-)

Those guys know how to do it ! One of the best experience we had in Colombia - for sure you will create special memories here. It's the perfect balance between relaxation, nature, 5 stars hotel services and amazing food. We would recommend this place to anyone planning to visit the country. Thanks again guys !

What makes this place so great, as so many have alluded to, is Fiona and Helmut - lovely, hospitable hosts who do everything they can to make you feel welcome. Loved the breakfasts and Helmut’s cooking in the evening was excellent too. The location is just magnificent and the views from the Finca and from the poolside are unforgettable - banana trees, jungle and the beautiful coastline. It is a rustic place but with lots of beautiful touches and a great spot from which to totally unwind and escape - though we also used it as a base to explore nearby Tayrona National Park and Palomino, both short bus rides away from the bottom of the hill. Thank you guys for sharing your slice of paradise with us, we miss it already!

Honestly there was nothing we would change. we loved it.

The Finca was amazing! Surrounded by beautiful nature, oceanview, nicely decorated and super clean. The atmosphere by the pool was very relaxing and we got offered nice drinks and snacks. Fiona and Helmut were the best hosts! Super friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcomed! The breakfast was always amazing and also even though they don’t have an official restaurant, they cooked us some very delicious meals every night! We cannot thank them enough for one of the best experiences we ever had!

Just came back from a 4 nights stay at Finca Cuipo and I can say it's absolutely perfect! The cabanas are wonderful, with an amazing balcony and view and super nice outdoor shower! Fiona and Helmut welcome you as friends and do everything they can to make sure you are having a good time. They cook great food and are always up for a nice conversation. The finca is surrounded by jungle, so it is very quiet and peaceful, perfect if you want to disconnect for a while. 100% recommended!!

Helmut and Fiona were the best hosts I’ve ever met, they were so caring and accommodating to all of our needs. We felt so at home! The homemade food (breakfasts and dinner) they prepared were top notch, best of the meals I’ve had in Colombia. It was so healthy and delicious, we didn’t need to leave the property to dine elsewhere. The property is in a very unique location with spectacular view, very private and serene. We were researching all the cool activities we’d like to do in the area but in the end we just spent the whole day chilling by the pool and on the hammock because it was so amazing! Just be aware it’s located on the top of the hill, so getting up and down on motortaxi was an exciting attraction itself. I’d love to come back again and have a longer stay :)

Absolutely nothing!

Easily the highlight of our 3 months in South America. The finca is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the coastline and immersed in nature. The cabins are thoughtfully designed and so comfortable, along with offering incredible views of sunrise and the sea, all from your hammock! This is the perfect place to switch off and relax (we had grand plans of hikes, and ended up sat by the pool for 3 days, and didn't want to leave!) Fiona and Helmut are amazing hosts, from the first hello, to our final goodbyes. (and can't forget the lovely Tovi). Each meal we had was lovingly prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommend Finca Cuipo! It was the perfect way to end 2022, and see in the New Year.

Finca Cuipo is magical, and the wonderfully warm hosts only add to the stunning natural setting. I stayed 3 nights and was sad to leave on the final morning. I can’t wait to return again soon!

Our stay at Finca Cuipo was outstanding. The Finca is set in a beautiful area, surrounded by nature with fantastic views of the ocean below. The cabin was stylish, rustic and comfortable and the attention to detail was second to none (the outdoor shower was a highlight for us). The food was prepared and cooked from scratch with focus on flavour and nutrition and was always delicious. Fiona and Helmut were brilliant hosts, friendly, interesting, attentive and knowledgeable. Together with nature, they’ve created an oasis which we didn’t want to leave. If you’re looking to truly unwind and immerse yourself in nature (whilst keeping all of the comforts of home) you must stay here. My only negative is that no other place will ever compare to Finca Cuipo!

'Finca Cuipo' is a little paradise in which a very loveable young family let take you part of their life within and with the nature. If you wake up in the morning, its every day a different, but always a beautiful sunrise. After that, you can look forward to a very delicious breakfast (especially the pancakes and fresh juices!) you chose the day before. Same with the dinner. If you have any questions for example about the culture or need help to plan a trip/ transportation/..., Fiona and Helmut will help you with it. Communication is very easy because the both speak fluently English and Spanish. Fiona also is able to talk German and Dutch. We've definitely never had so caring hosts! Our choice was to stay for 5 nights and we can absolutely recommend that number of days.

Helmut and Fiona completely went out of their way to make our stay amazing from beginning to end. We really did not want to leave! We did the Lost City Trek before coming here and Helmut offered us transportation from the end point of the trek to their place which was super practical. Helmut, and the cook Kelly make super delicious food, we loved all the dishes that were served. The place itself is very beautiful and truly unique. We didn't leave it to go on any daytrips because we liked it so much and it was the perfect place for us to relax after an exhausting hiking experience. Finally, when you're staying with Helmut and Fiona, their very cute baby daughter Tovi and very social pets (a dog named Canela and Bagheera the cat), you'll feel as if you're visiting a couple of friends... While at the same time having all the luxury in the world once you retrieve to the beautiful cabins. We can not recommend this place more highly and hope to come back here ourselves one day soon.

The location was beautiful and quiet and our room was perfect. Everything was incredibly clean and organized which made our stay comfortable. Helmut and Fiona cooked delicious meals for us, with a variety of options to choose from! Waking up to such a beautiful view was amazing. We would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a unique experience and want to get away from the noise and traffic to relax in a small haven of peace.
