Le support staff, les guides et les trackers étaient très professionnels et aux petits soins à chaque instant. Les repas étaient tous délicieux ! Tivemos dias inesquecíveis em uma estadia simplesmente perfeita! Toda a equipe do Motswari é extremamente gentil, cuidadosa e solícita. Todas as refeições foram fartas e saborosas. Os quartos são super confortáveis e limpos. Os games drives foram muito bem organizados e emocionantes, pudemos ver de perto os Big 5, dentre muitas outras espécies de animais. A equipe que nos guiou nos game drives, Louise e Thabo, foi super atenciosa e dedicada, nos fazendo sentir sempre seguros e confortáveis. Por fim, amamos as surpresas que fizeram durante as refeições (não vou falar mais para não dar spoiler!). Nota 1000.

Minha única ressalva é que, visto que não há não há serviço de telefone na região nem sinal de Wi-Fi nos quarto, seria melhor se o Wi-Fi disponível nas áreas comuns fosse mais consistente (ele caiu algumas vezes durante nossa estadia). Mas é claro que também apreciamos o período de desconexão!

Heerlijk eten en een geweldige locatie midden in de natuur! De lodges waren prachtig ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. De gamedrives waren echt geweldig! Zelfs tijdens de vroege ochtendritten lagen er voor iedereen heerlijke warme kruiken klaar in de jeep. En tijdens de gamedrives werd er ook tijd gemaakt voor een gezellige borrel. Onze chauffeur en gidsen, Lot en Hudson, maakten de hele ervaring in het reservaat helemaal compleet. Wat een geweldige ervaring! 🦁🐘❤️

Everything! The animals were amazing. Our guide and tracker (Eden and Magic) were incredible. Their knowledge and love of the animals was clear to see and they made our experience incredible. The room was lovely with a private deck where we could relax and watch the animals at the river during the day. Lodge staff were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay so special.

Staff were very friendly and our guides were incredible. We saw 4/5 of the big 5 and multiple times. Only thing we didn't see was a buffalo which didn't really care about.

Receptionist could have been a bit more on the ball. It would have been nice if they explained more on the safety side too i.e. what to do in case of an emergency.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Auch wenn man den alten Stil beibehalten möchte, könnte man gewisse Sachen aufwerten. Die Matratze macht alle Bewegungen mit.

Beautiful property with charming rooms. The food was excellent, and the reception and service team were very friendly.

Our bungalow initially had an unpleasant smell, but it cleared after some airing. Unfortunately, the hot water was not working. The game drives were less informative compared to other experiences, and the driver seemed somewhat unmotivated.

Amazing stay! There is nothing to complain about - amazing food, amazing people, and a well thought through itinerary. We were also lucky to see much more than the Big 5 and our guides were just amazing finding the perfect sights. Just worth it!

We stayed for a couple nights of our honeymoon and the staff and hospitality were unmatched. They went out of their way to make it special for us - with flowers on the bed, wine in our room, private table at dinner, safari drives on our own - all without us even asking! Saw so many animals in the lodge itself too just from our room (bush buck, warthog, crocodile, impala, giraffe, elephant, hyena, baboons). The safari guides were very knowledgeable and shared interesting info on the animals. Also worth mentioning the food was great and the AC in the room was a lifesaver. Thank you Motswari!

Only very small flaw is that the rooms (although super spacious, clean and well maintained) feel a bit dated and in need of an upgrade. Perhaps that's the intended look - but not my personal taste.

Everything was fantastic. The staff were amazing. Our guide and tracker, Rudolf and George, were exceptional. We had the absolute best time and highly recommend it.

Motswari for us was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Basically, you enter a different world when you arrive at the Lodge; the beautiful setting, the fantastic room with the terrace view, the food but above all the friendliness of the staff, who could not do enough to make our stay such a memorable experience. Then the daily safari with our guides Erik & Difference who shared their knowledge with us and showed us all the magnificent animals in their natural habitat. But what made it so special was the fun we had along the way. Thank you to all the staff for this wonderful experience.

Everything about this property was perfect. The room was stunning. The property grounds were beautiful as well. I genuinely loved staying here and would stay here again without any hesitation. The staff was also incredible and the food was the best I ever had at any resort stay.

Absolutely nothing.

The facilities here are fantastic — the pool, lodge, and rooms are all wonderful. But what truly made this trip were the safaris, and that comes down to our tracker Tabu and driver Noel. Both are absolutely exceptional and you can tell they genuinely care about giving guests the best possible experience. Tabu did some seriously impressive tracking to locate a rhino for us, and when I jokingly told Noel I wanted to see a baby cub — even though sightings had been rare — he raced us across the reserve the moment word came in. We got to see it. That's the kind of dedication that turns a great trip into an unforgettable one. 10/10 — and I hope whoever stays next gets assigned to their car!

We stayed two nights and it was so memorable. We had the best guide and tracker - Josh and David - we even saw a leopard up close TWICE because of their good work. They are so knowledgeable and talented. The food is just to die for and the rooms are so beautiful, we had the Buffalo room facing the room and didn‘t want to leave. There were only six of us in the safari vehicle, which was roofless (amazing immersive experience) - that was very, very comfortable. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave you‘re so well taken care of, they think of your every need and the staff is just amazing. The rooms gets cleaned twice a day and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom, the whole room actually, was spotlessly clean. We saw loads of animals up close (Big 5!) and the game drives were so much fun. Every morning and evening you stop for a break in a beautiful location and they serve you drinks/coffee and some snacks. If it’s your first time on Safari - or first time in South Africa - and you’re unsure about which camp to stay at, as was I (and I did a lot of research myself) - come here and just enjoy. I promise you, you won‘t regret it!! It‘s amazing beyond words! Thank you Motswari, we‘ll be back for sure!

Everything was about this stay was amazing! Great staff and food offerings. I would highly recommend to plan a stay at this lodge. The staff made the stay extra special. They are kind and courteous - this needs to be emphasized!

Everything about Motswari is wonderful. The rooms are all comfortable and private, the staff (from cleaners, to chefs, to waiting staff, to the guides) were all incredible and made us feel so relaxed. All the meals provided were delicious and plenty. Only having WiFi in the communal area is a great idea and helped us disconnect and relax fully whilst there.

First and foremost the staff were just incredible! Our guides Josh and Difference really made the trip and showed us soo much wildlife. The hotel was peaceful and the rooms were unique. Expérience absolument extraordinaire. A Mostwari, tout est simplement merveilleux : le personnel, les lodges, l'emplacement incroyable avec des dizaines d'éléphants qui passent à quelques mètres de la piscine. Les safaris : merci encore à Rudolph et Tabo d'avoir réalisé mon rêve de voir les éléphants d'aussi près. Nous avons vu pleins d'animaux, c'était magique. La météo était fabuleuse pendant mon séjour. Tout aurait bien sûr été totalement différent dans le cas contraire.

Accommodation & camp are fantastic - both luxurious and rustic at the same time. We loved that is no fence around the camp but this does bring limitations such as not being able to walk around freely after dark. Food was excellent and they were very accommodating for various dietary needs in our group. Guide and tracker were very knowledgable and spotted some fantastic sightings. All the staff in the camp are so friendly and hospitable and caring.

We would have liked to have seen some of the night life on the drive even to have stopped and look at the stars but were given no opportunity for this on the drive or in the camp as the camp is full of trees and there was nowhere without light where we could sit & look up. For snacks and drinks on game drive, since there were kids in our group, would have liked many soft drinks from the start but this was quickly changed for the next drive, also would have loved dried mango or a fresh fruit (eg apple or banana) on the drives.

Motswari far exceeded our expectations. The lodge was amazing, luxurious and so comfortable. The food was insanely delicious. The staff were very friendly, went out of their way to help us obtain items we wanted and our guide and tracker (Eden & Magic) were fantastic and so knowledgeable. They worked hard to make sure we saw the big 5 and more. We even saw rhinos and lions multiple times, and had so much fun tracking leopards off-road, which ended with a beautiful, lengthy viewing of a leopardess prowling through the bush. 100% would recommend and do again.

Everything was excellent. The rooms had everything you needed with very comfortable beds. The food was excellent with lots of choices. Our guide and tracker were superb. We saw the big 5 and lots of little things in 2 days. We will definitely return.

beautiful decor, open camp looking out to watering hole. rooms and public area are all stunning and feels very immersive, like you are really in the african bush. The staff were all very very welcoming, friendly, chatty, and we got the sense that they really wanted us to enjoy our stay, which we thoroughly did. we also stayed one night in the giraffe’s nest which was very special despite some high winds. Lastly, the food was outstanding sing. home cooked delicious african cuisine, presented with pride and care.

amenities could be further improved. It unfortunately rained for the majority of our trip and so a few board games, magazines, films etc would be good when unable to laze by the pool

Fantastic! I must first mention the staffs! We felt so so taken care of and they were so friendly and polite and was there to help 24/7! We didn't want to leave this place at all because we felt so spoilt. Our guide Eden and Magic were the most amazing. They were so good at their jobs and we were able to see more than what we expected on our game drive. I hope everyone who stays here gets to experience Eden's and Magic's knowledge and gets to go on game drives with them. Please request for them I am sure you won't regret it. Next up is the f&b team! Special mentions to Timothy, Craven, Noah, Elizabeth (the head chef) for looking after all our dietary requirements. I ate so well! Lunches were so wholesome and so earthy and good for the soul! The housekeeping did an amazing job at cleaning our rooms TWICE day! I cannot recommend this place enough. I didn't want to leave and could've easily stayed another week. It was just so relaxing.

The staff are exceptional. Eden and magic were so knowledgable, funny, accommodating - they made our trip! There skills as tracker and guide were second to none. We saw so much! Including a lion kill. WOW. And all of the staff on the property again couldn’t do enough to look after you! Every single one of them called us all by and throughout our stay.

Superior experience, we saw the big five in the first 2 Game Drives. Hayden & Patrick( tracker and driver )were fun to be with, knowledgeable and friendly all times , went that extra mile to find the animals we wanted to look out for. Noah, Tim & Prince provided a service with a smile in the restaurant and bar, even remembered our tipple. Food was so delicious and plentiful. The whole team work incredibly well together, this was a holiday of a lifetime , phenomenal hospitality. This is a bucket list holiday for sure. Well worth paying premium rate. You get what you pay for , definitely recommend. Allow for extra cash for the tips , recommendations 600-700 rands per day for driver & tracker , then the support team. The leave as a Family is definitely true , the singing and dancing memories made in the heart forever . Take dark trainers …. It’s very dusty! Thank you.

It was amazing. The rooms were excellent. With great views over the river, often frequented by animals. The food was terrific. Our guide and tracker, Noel and David, could not have been better. We saw the big 5 and much more- many giraffes, Zebra, hippo etc. we arrived about 1pm. Lunch is at 2.30, game drive 3.30-6.30pm, dinner at 7.30pm. On the day we left we did the normal 6.30-9.30am game drive, followed by a wonderful brunch at 9.30am. We left at 11. So you get a lot extra. For 3 nights we had 6 game drives. There was good hot water, comfortable beds, great leather chairs with a nice balcony. There is also a nice pool. All staff were super friendly and helpful.

Accommodation good, food very good. Each night they had dinner in a different area. A lovely boma one night. The bush brekki was different and nice. Prince looked after us well. Game drives excellent with wonderful sightings Lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe etc our game driver Hayden was very informative and Patrick our tracker was good. Enjoyed the drinks stop in the evening and early morning coffee on drives. Went to the main Motswari camp for lunch one day. This was our 3rd visit to Motswari several staff remembered us Timothy got a big hug from him.

We had wanted to return to Motswari main camp but they upgraded us to the Health Retreat we were a bit cross about this!

Game drives were exciting and well organised. Great variety of food options, staff were all wonderful and always went above and beyond for guests. Camp was a good size with different areas to explore, pool area was a bit small.

not cheap but worth the experience, the staff was exceptional and the game drives in the private nature reserve were something else! our bungalow was super clean and cozy, the food was really good and offered a great variety. also worth mentioning that while not having a dedicated spa they offer in-room massages which were amazing as well.

one thing that is missing is a gym - that would really make it heaven on earth (as you are in the middle of the reserve you cannot go for a walk either) conservation fee for the reserve should be included in the price / highlighted somewhere

Had an amazing stay at Motswari. Our room was clean and cozy, everyone super helpful and kind and food was great. The pool had a nice view over a creek where animals come to drink. The game drives were amazing, we did 6 and managed to see the big 5 after 4 game drives. Nice detail is that you get assigned to the same team (guide + tracker) every game drive, so you get to know them better and they know exactly which animals you've already seen and still want to see. We were with Rudolf and Lot, both very good at their jobs and nice/fun guys to be around. The reserve was managed very well, there were never more than 2 cars around an animal sighting which made it feel more special and less intrusive to the animals than in other parts of Kruger. Price was quite steep for us, but after all worth the experience. Would come back.

Details, but the outside seating at our chalet (Zebra) could use a bit of attention as it was not super inviting to sit there.

The whole experience was excellent and I could not recommend this hotel enough. We used an organised transfer by the hotel to get to the lodge; the drive there and back (around 90 minutes each way) was like its own safari. We saw giraffes, elephants, zebras, birds, hippos, baboons and so much more. The driver was happy to stop and let us take pictures. It was an amazing introduction to the whole safari experience. We arrived to a welcoming party of staff who continued to be excellent throughout our stay, they were welcoming, knew our names and went above and beyond to assist us with whatever we needed. I had ordered a parcel to the local post office and they were happy to pick it up for me so I didn't miss out on a safari drive. The rooms are lovely- we had a beautiful bath and separate shower where you could look out and see wildlife. The bed was extremely large and the facilities were comfortable. The communal areas are lovely as there are a small number of guests staying it doesn't feel crowded and there are options to use the pool, sunbathe or relax in a variety of different areas. We often saw elephants, giraffes, water bucks etc throughout the day coming to the river to drink. The safari drives are excellent, the guide and tracker we had were exceptional, we had seen the big 5 within our first two drives and they were happy to do what the group wanted to do, for example go out on long drives where there was a chance we would not see certain animals but they would be beautiful drives. The food is the best food I have ever experienced at a hotel. It was truly excellent and there is so much of it, no one will go hungry. The whole experience was magical and as someone who does not ever return to places and is more of an Air B n B person- I am already looking to come back!

My only slight issue was that there is no Wifi in the rooms however it is easily accessed in the communal areas and only added to our relaxation during the stay. It was the smallest inconvenience that was dwarfed by everything else being amazing.

Everything worked like clock work. It is all very well organised. The breakfast was the best meal of the day for us (we are both vegetarians) There was plenty of variety of food. The staff were welcoming, very friendly and fun, nothing was too much trouble. Our Driver and Tracker were very knowledgeable and experienced, they made every drive different. We would highly recommend staying here.

There is very little not to like, however we would have preferred our food served hotter, but that is our personal choice We also would have preferred better lighting as it was difficult to see, once inside the rooms, of course this adds to the atmosphere and is probably done like that for a reason to fit in with its environment.

We liked everything about our stay at Motswari! The place is managed amazingly in all aspects and food is delicious! We were impressed by our guide and tracker on our 4 drives which allowed us to see all Big 5 plus many other animals. Owen, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and together with George, our tracker, the team was extremely driven to track down the animals our group wanted to see!

The food was excellent, and the staff in the kitchen and bar were brilliant. We saw many animals because there is so many vehicles going out, there was always a call to go to a location, wasn't about tracking animals, more about go here there is a leopard, go here there is a lion etc.

The rooms smelled like Varnish, we mentioned many times, but nothing was done. A Hairbrush was taken from our bathroom, when we mentioned it, it mysteriously appeared stuffed in our luggage, it was not there before. While we saw many animals on the safari the guide didnt give much information about anything, needed to be prompted to tell us things. More interested to contact his girlfriend to come a and look rather then tall guests about the animals. Constantly messing or on the radio, needs to spend more time talking to guests about animals.

Staff staff and again the staff was amazing service excellence Food perfect and always fresh. Very smooth and efficient operations. No “hick-ups” in any part of the stay.

Guest areas need to be “refreshed” as it feels and looks a little tired

The staff really make this place so incredible; from the amazing chefs to the attentive wait staff to the exceptionally knowledgeable guides/ trackers (shoutout to Josh who found not only the big 5 but the white lion cub too!), everyone went above and beyond.

Would’ve been great to have some sun loungers in the sun to make the most of the free time. Given no WiFi in rooms, having a phone in the room to call reception if you need to leave as you need to be escorted in the dark due to wild animals.

Super friendly staff with warm welcome and attention. The amenities and accommodation were on point with lot of comfort while being made traditionally in the heart of the reserve with respect with the surroundings. The food served four times a day was great with variety and large quantities, making us discover local cuisine. The Safari drives went perfectly fine, we were able to see all the animals living in the reserve with great respect and explanations from our guide and tracker.

Our arrival was not perfect as no one was attending the reception at 6pm and everyone was gone for the safari drive from 4pm to 7pm. Happily a tracker was in the lodge and was able to help us checking in.

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. A huge thanks to Henry and Jan, our exceptional tracker and guide. Their expertise led us to all the Big 5 within just two days! The spacious and cozy rooms offer a true bushveld experience, even allowing for animal sightings while enjoying the pool. The food is amazing, with a nice variety every day and delicious local meat offerings.

Best safari experience of them all! This was the best safari experience of all we had while in Africa for a month during December to January when we visited South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. Our guide Hayden was amazing, taking us off-road into the bush to catch some incredible animal sightings. He and the 2 trackers, Patrick and David, had a skill that others we experienced did not at finding the Big Five up close and often during our 3 days at Motswari. The twice a day schedule was a bit crazy especially the 5:00 am game drives, but missing a bit of sleep was worth it over and over as we had incredible success catching so many animals at this preserve. The accommodations and the meals were also first class considered being out in the wild, and the entire staff was attentive and friendly, particularly in the restaurant and bar. If there is one safari experience not to miss in Africa, Motswari is it!

Every single part of our stay was 10/10 The game drives you are taken on are amazing - we saw the big 5 in the first 3 drives. Joshua, our ranger and Difference, our tracker were superb at their jobs; super relaxed and highly skilled at what they do. The food is out of this world! The staff are extremely nice and accommodating of any request but they are not too ‘in your face’ either - they allow you to make what ever you like of your stay. Elizabeth and Thambi and their team do such amazing work with fresh and local produce - every meal was an experience to remember! Jan is one of the waiters and bar men - he was so kind and friendly in his engagements with us, making us feel welcome and give us an insight into life in the area. He chatted freely about his life and asked about our lives. Getting to know him and the other staff was a real bonus of the trip. You come as a tourist and leave as a friend.

Excellent food, in both quality and variety. Quality of the drives and guides / trackers were exceptional. Staff hospitality was amongst the best I've experienced in any hotel.

A very minor point, but the daily cleaning of bathroom could be improved slightly and replenishment of the toiletries (e.g. shower caps) was not always done. Overall the rooms were very comfortable and clean.

We had an amazing time at Motswari. The food was top tier and all of the staff made us feel at home. We saw some very rare animals during our safaris and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the experience. The owner and manager of the reserve were also present and very friendly. We would love to come back to Motswari.

It was different than what we had seen before. That was stimulating. There was drought and the nature reflected the climate. Facilities were good, the staff wonderful.

Maybe one could do more with the garden around cottages?

The property is located in an amazing private game reserve. Our guide Owen and tracker George were fantastic, they were very knowledgeable and every game drive was an experience! The staff were simply the happiest and kindest bunch we have ever seen! The food was really nice! Diverse and very interesting! The small pool is very refreshing, something you’ll appreciate on a hot day.

The pickup from the airport is way too expensive considering the taxi rates in SA. Not sure if you can get the same value (nature wise) from cheaper resorts.

Amazing staff and delicious food.

It may have been simply timing, but we seen relatively few animals on our 4 game drives which was disappointing especially given the cost of staying somewhere like this.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Hayden and tracker Patrick were incredible, so knowledgeable and friendly, they really made our experience. The drives were great, we saw such a variety of animals including the big 5. We saw and learnt something new every drive. The lodge is lovely, our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We stayed in Roan room and had a lovely porch looking out to the savanna woodland, where we saw animals roaming past. The pool area is a beautiful view too. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious- we tried kudu and wildebeest! We also did the giraffe nest which was an amazing experience. We got to see a hyena and a lion visit the watering hole in front of the treehouse. The stars and moon were amazing and listening to all the animals sounds. Could not recommend this lodge enough!! Unforgettable 5 days.

The best game drive experience! We absolutely enjoyed the game drives with Josh, who was so passionate and motivated to show us the big five and many more animals. The staff at Motswari is extremely friendly and puts a lot of effort into everything. The food is really good.

The interior of the rooms is a bit outdated. Also, the bathroom is separated from the bedroom, so we could only enter the bathroom via a small private path and a private outdoor shower. At night when it was dark and we put on the light in our room it meant that a lot of bugs, mosquitoes etc. got into the room.

I’m not sure I can put into words the joy this incredible 3 night stay at Motswari gave us. Our lodge Nyla was wonderful so tastefully decorated and very spacious and comfortable. We were collected from our room and escorted to dinner each evening by the friendly staff. The food was fabulous and the staff out of this world, nothing was too much trouble. Loved their singing at lunch as they brought in the food. Josh and Difference were the most amazing guide and tracker and we loved our time with them. They worked so hard to make sure we saw the Big 5 and yes we did multiple times. Thank you to everyone at Motswari for making us so welcome we certainly felt we left as friends and will be back ❤️

Loved everything

Our stay at Motswari Private Game Reserve was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Our room was immaculate—clean, tidy, and incredibly comfortable. The facilities are stunning, and we were lucky enough to spot animals strolling by multiple times. The all-inclusive service was exceptional, with an abundance of delicious, high-quality food. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable—so kind, attentive, and warm. The private safari, which runs twice a day, was impeccably organized and simply amazing. A special thank you to Joshua, our driver, and David, our tracker. Highly, highly recommended!

Super friendly staff, food was outstanding with loads of choice and flexibility. Everyone just wants to make your experience memorable and they do it with the biggest smile. Couldn't recommend enough, just book it.

Very nice private game reserve. Food was great. Guides were wonderful. They entertained us too!

We wanted more time with the other guests. After the games drive we were escorted back to out room then had to wait an hour for them to come get us for dinner at 8. Maybe just 30 min would be better to freshen up. I would have rather went right to dinner after game drive, like at other places. We felt like we were waiting around for an hour, getting tired and would have liked to have happy hour with other guests. Also bigger tables at dinner to meet people vs just mostly 2 tops.

Our stay at Motswari was fantastic - to start off, the property itself is absolutely stunning, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and you are surrounded by wildlife 24/7 due to the open air fence. The food for all three meals was delicious - they just kept feeding us and it got better each time! The safari's themselves were amazing - I've been on many safari's before, mostly in national parks where an animal sighting is reported and 20 cars race and crowd the animal and it feels very uncomfortable. This did not happen here - all of the guides are in contact with one another and the surrounding private lodges and have a 1-2 car rule where you are only ever around one another car while doing your animal sighting. This made it an incredibly intimate experience with each animal and felt like we were respecting the wildlife while still being able to get up close. The guides were also fantastic - we had Paul and Magic who were the best duo we could have asked for. We saw the big 5 in one day in addition to wild dog sightings every day, hyena dens and pups, several leopards and lion prides, and elephants and giraffes everywhere! Motswari offered everything you could want in a safari and more, and it's true when they say leave as a friend. We visited for our honeymoon and are already planning our next trip back! 11/10 recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
