Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Every single thing from the second Shayna picked us up from the airport and we walked through the gates for the first time has been nothing but incredible. The staff, the lodge, the food, all outstanding. I could not recommend Isambane more, I can’t sing its praises enough. Our safari guide Saneshan has been perfect and incredibly knowledgeable on everything from botany to astronomy and of course all the animals, birds and insects, he is also very kind, we were lucky enough to see the big 5 and many other animals. We were also honoured to get Angela’s last drive when we first arrived. Craig joined us for the last couple drives was also great and very knowledgeable. Every guest has been so kind. There has not been one meal that wasn’t 10/10, thank you chefs🩷 I was very sad to check out but we will definitely be back. Thank you so much to the whole team for the most incredible 5 nights of my life.🩷

Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Probabilmente il soggiorno con safari più bello della mia vita. ❤️ Ci siamo trovati benissimo fin dal primo momento: accoglienza, cibo, struttura e attenzione a ogni dettaglio, tutto impeccabile.
I safari, due al giorno di circa 4 ore, sono stati semplicemente fantastici. Essendo in una riserva privata, gli animali vengono osservati con grande rispetto, senza il caos di tante jeep che li circondano. La nostra guida ci ha fatto immergere completamente in questo mondo, raccontandoci tantissime informazioni sugli animali, le loro abitudini, i predatori e l'ambiente in cui vivono.
Gli avvistamenti non sono mai scontati, ed è proprio questo il bello del safari: cercarli e vivere l'emozione quando finalmente li trovi. Io sono riuscito a vedere tutti i Big Five, un'esperienza indimenticabile.
Lo consiglio vivamente a chiunque voglia vivere un'esperienza safari autentica. Ci ho lasciato un pezzo di cuore. ❤️
Se dovessi trovare un piccolo aspetto da migliorare, direi il Wi-Fi, che durante il nostro soggiorno non funzionava sempre molto bene. Noi avevamo una SIM con traffico dati, quindi non abbiamo avuto alcun problema, ma potrebbe essere utile migliorarlo per gli ospiti che ne hanno necessità, ad esempio per guardare un film o utilizzare internet più comodamente.

The guides who accompanied us on the safaris were especially caring and helpful, always doing their best to ensure that we could enjoy the experience to the fullest and see as many animals as possible.
The food was delicious, made with excellent-quality ingredients and very well prepared. In addition, the room was beautiful, comfortable, and cozy.
Without a doubt, this is a place we would highly recommend, and one we would love to return to.

Unfortunately the game drives were a bit disappointing as just little game was there and only parts of Balule could be used due to concessions. And we were not supported by a spotter besides the ranger as guests on days before our arrival. If you want to go for the Big5 and lots of game go for Krüger NP self driving!

Fomos bem atendidas desde o primeiro contato até o transfer de volta ao aeroporto. A tenda é muito confortável e as refeições são impecáveis. Nossos guias também foram muito atenciosos e sempre nos perguntavam quais animais gostaríamos de ver nos game drives. Infelizmente não conseguimos ver o leopardo e os búfalos, mas fica um motivo para voltar!

Reviewed Aug 28, 2026Fan-tas-tisch!!! Het fijne gevoel wat wij bij Isambane hebben is moeilijk te beschrijven.
Een van de mooiste en fijnste plekken waar we ooit verbleven. Alles is prachtig, van het uitzicht, de tenten, het zwembad, de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes. Het team is fantastisch en maken er echt een feestje van, gastvrijheid ten top. Goede verzorging met heerlijke maaltijden.
Super mooie omgeving en erg leuke en interessante game drives, de rangers/drivers zijn top. We hebben veel wildlife mogen spotten!
We missen het nu al. Heel veel dank Isambane team! We raden het iedereen aan.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026The pool and vicinity to the elephants was incredible. The food was the best in South Africa and a real special touch having the chef come to your table at each meal to explain what you’re eating. The tents had a lovely shower and bath. The boma was icing on the cake. The game drives with the blankets and water bottles as well as great selection of drinks and nibbles was greatly appreciated.
The bumpy Ferrari safari was a little uncomfortable on my back. The game driver wasn’t as engaging as other drivers we’d had. He seemed less comfortable with guests.
Upon departure our game driver was adamant he check our room prior to giving us our vehicle keys this made us feel as though it was assumed we had broken or stolen something. This left a bad taste. This was disgusted with the comment “let me just check your room before you leave to make sure you hav everything”

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026Unser Aufenthalt im Isambane Camp war mit Abstand das schönste Erlebnis unserer gesamten Reise und eines der schönsten Erlebnisse, die wir je hatten.
Alles war einfach perfekt – die Lage, die Zimmer, das Essen und vor allem das Personal. Für uns eine glatte 10/10. Wir wollten am Ende eigentlich gar nicht mehr abreisen.
Besonders die Menschen dort haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Alle waren unglaublich herzlich, aufmerksam und authentisch. Wir haben uns menschlich sehr gut mit dem Team verstanden und uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt.
Mitten in der Wildnis zu leben, umgeben von der Natur und den Tieren, ist ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl. Der Essensbereich bietet eine traumhafte Aussicht und wir hatten das große Glück, während des Essens immer wieder Tiere an der Wasserstelle beobachten zu können. Solche Momente vergisst man nie.
Wir können Isambane jedem uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Wer eine authentische Safari-Erfahrung mit wunderschöner Unterkunft, hervorragendem Essen und außergewöhnlichen Menschen sucht, ist hier genau richtig.
Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team für diese unvergessliche Zeit. Wir hoffen sehr, eines Tages wiederzukommen.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026Fantastisch verblijf gehad! Geweldige ranger die ons veel wist te vertellen tijdens de game drive en ons veel liet zien. Hield rekening met iedereens wensen. Ook nog de luipaard en olifanten gezien bij de waterhole. Personeel was allemaal onwijs vriendelijk en het eten was heerlijk!

Reviewed May 27, 2026Am liebsten würde ich doppelt so viele Sterne vergeben, wie möglich. Dieser Aufenthalt war einfach unglaublich, ein echtes Bucket-List-Erlebnis und wie aus einem Bilderbuch.
Vom grandiosen Essen über die wunderschöne Pinterest-reife Einrichtung bis hin zu den unvergesslichen Sichtungen bei den Game Drives war einfach alles perfekt. Und als absolutes Highlight kamen sogar Elefanten während Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen (!!) vorbei, um direkt vor uns Wasser zu trinken, einfach surreal.
Großartiger Ranger, unfassbar freundliches Personal und eine Gastfreundschaft, die wirklich ihresgleichen sucht. Wirklich, wirklich empfehlenswert!

Reviewed May 20, 2026As refeições eram maravilhosas, e os game drives foram perfeitos, vimos muitos animais, além disso um elefante bebeu água no lago que tem na frente do hotel. A equipe é super atenciosa e foram perfeitos em cada detalhe.
O quarto que fiquei não possuía ar condicionado somente ventilador e a tarde era impossível ficar no quarto por conta do calor, mas isso não estragou nada aproveitamos para curtir o hotel .

Reviewed May 5, 2026Het is een fantastische ervaring: het personeel en de safari guides maken het onvergetelijk. De safari’s worden gedaan met veel respect voor de dieren en natuur en er wordt de tijd genomen om uitleg te geven en de dieren rustig te bekijken. Het verblijf in het kamp is ook uitmuntend. De maaltijden zijn fantastisch en het personeel zorgt enorm goed voor de gasten. De kleine dingen die zij regelen (persoonlijke ontvangst na game drives en handgeschreven briefjes) en de positiviteit die zij uitstralen maken het verschil.

Todo mundo é muito receptivo, funcionários são realmente incríveis e tratam todos muito bem. A comida é ótima e o lodge é muito bonito.
Nos vimos os elegantes na piscina e foi muito fofo!
Não conseguimos ver os big 5. Não sei se é um problema da reserva ou se foi o período que fomos (abril). Adicionalmente, apesar da comida ser muito boa, é prato fixo (você não tem escolha). Ou seja, para quem tem um paladar mais regulado, pode sofrer.
Ficamos no quarto menorzinho, e algo que não estava claro pra nós era que o banheiro era FORA do quarto. Ou seja… se quiser fazer xixi durante a noite, tem que sair do quarto.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Everything was simply just amazing - the staff (the most friendly and kind people ever!), the game drives with our super knowledgeable guide, the accommodation, the food (we’re both vegetarians and that was no problem at all!) and the animals of course 🙂 we were able to see the big 5 and many many more animals. We had some really close encounters with elephants - amazing! Our guide gave 200% to make the best out of all the drives, which was fantastic!
An absolute 10/10 experience! We will definitely come back!

Reviewed Apr 21, 2026Es war sehr sauber und gemütlich in der kleinen Hütte. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Das Essen war super lecker, alles frisch und dabei noch kreativ zubereitet. Das Personal erstklassig, ein Service der sich kaum übertreffen lässt, so nett und freundlich, einfach toll! Täglich inkl. eine Safari morgens und nachmittags, der Guide war toll und die Safaris grandios! Alles top organisiert. Und wir hatten sogar das Glück, dass Giraffen und Elefanten ins Camp kamen, das war unfassbar schön!! Die Zeit im Isambane Camp werden wir nicht vergessen 😍 Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Team 💝

Da equipe, com tratamento excepcional com os hóspedes e do local em si. Pudemos avistar os elefantes no jantar, uma manada. Tudo foi maravilhoso na estadia.

Reviewed Apr 3, 2026We enjoyed every minute that we've spend at Isambane. The staff is so helpful and friendly and the location is amazing. We saw loads of elephants at the pool (14 on a single evening).
Also the morning+evening safaris we went on exceeded all our expectations. The guide tells you a lot of useful information and shows you the best spots. And on return, the whole team is waiting to welcome you back. Just wow.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2026We had such a wonderful stay at this lodge in the Balule Private Game Reserve. The service and hospitality were truly outstanding – everyone was so warm, attentive, and made us feel at home right away.
The lodge itself is small, which creates a very intimate and peaceful atmosphere. We loved spending time on the terrace overlooking the waterhole.
The game drives were incredible and we were lucky enough to see the Big Five. One of the most special moments was watching elephants come to the waterhole during dinner – and even drink from the pool.
Overall, a very memorable and relaxing stay. We would absolutely come back.

Food is very good.
The game drives were amazing, we got to see the big 5 plus many other animals. Special mention to Sanesh, the guide, who was great and super patient to explain us everything. We even got to see lions chasing other animals thanks to him.
The fact that there are only 10 guests in the camp is very enjoyable, it makes it super private and intimate.
The level of comfort was below our expectations for the price. Although the camp facilities and common areas are great, the room did not match the expectations. The room is very small, only a bed fits, so impossible to open a luggage. The 2 major issues were (i) the noise that some animals (baby bush) were doing inside the roof of the room, making it hard to sleep and (ii) the temperature, extremely warm during the day as the room is like an oven. Finally, the shower was hard to use (instable temperature and pressure)

We vonden persoonlijk het eten iets aan de zware kant. De invulling niet altijd passend bij de momenten. Het was super maar voor ons te zwaar.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2026Das Camp liegt direkt im Balule Nature Reservat und bietet ein unfassbares Erlebnis, da es keinerlei Begrenzungen oder Ähnliches gibt. Man ist also mittendrin! Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind alle samt so nett und hilfsbereit. Das Camp und die Zelte sind wirklich sehr sauber und gut gepflegt.
Die Game Dives (2x täglich) haben uns große Freude bereitet. Wir hatten das Glück alle Big Fives sehen zu können!
Réserve magnifique dans un environnement vallonné. Les safaris sont d’une très grande qualité. Nous avons beaucoup appris sur la faune et la flore, merci aux super guides qui apportent des informations vraiment très intéressantes ! Vraiment incroyable.
Question de goût mais nous n’avons pas adoré le lodge en lui même au niveau de l’architecture du lieu. Notre tente était un peu petite et nous n’avions pas d’eau chaude. Pour le prix, nous nous attendions à mieux.
Au niveau des repas, c’était bien mais souvent trop salé ou sucré à notre goût. Et le midi c’est vraiment léger.

Reviewed Dec 22, 2025the most incredible bush camp which feels private and intimate with only a few luxury cabins and tents on site. i cannot recommend isambane highly enough. i learnt so much in 4 days about animals, plants, trees and insects on the daily game drives with sanesh and lex. i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone visit - i have already booked again for next year.
nothing, the luxury tents are comfortable with all amenities you may need - totally 5 star camp.

Wir wurden im Isambane Camp mit einer so außergewöhnlichen Herzlichkeit und so liebevoll empfangen. Es gibt so viel Liebe ins Detail und die Wünsche eines einzelnen werden sehr ernst genommen. Wir werden und können Isambane nur vom Herzen weiterempfehlen und hoffen schnell wieder hier sein zu können.
Einfach eine Erinnerung die einen Platz in unserem Herzen bekommt.

De service en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel zijn subliem, je krijgt zoveel voor je geld zo is er elke ochtend en avond een gamedrive voorzien zolang je in het kamp verblijft en het eten is er overheerlijk.

Reviewed Nov 14, 2025Le personnel est aux petits soins. Les repas sont très bon. Les vues sont magnifiques et nous avons eu la grande chance de voir une famille d’éléphant boire au point d’eau 😍. La réserve n’est pas très grande mais les guides ont beaucoup de connaissances et nous avons eu la chance en deux jours de voir les Big Five et la plupart des animaux. Vous avez également la possibilité de voir certains animaux en dehors des safaris sur la demi-heure de route entre le Lodge et l’entrée de la réserve, ce qui nous a permis de voir un éléphant et une girafe a à peine quelques mètres de la voiture!
Ce n’est pas un point négatif mais il faut savoir que pour la tente de luxe, la salle de bain est accessible par l’extérieur par une petite passerelle, donc il faut quand même sortir dehors pour aller à la salle de bain

We hadden gehoopt om olifanten aan het zwembad te kunnen zien, en we hadden het geluk om dit twee dagen op rij te kunnen ervaren. Het personeel zorgt er echt voor dat je volledig kan genieten. We raden dir verblijf aan iedereen aan!

The team is incredibly passionate and warmhearted, the food is varied and an absolute highlight thanks to the chef, the camp is beautiful with so much attention to detail. The game drives exceeded all our expectations and were full of fascinating insights.

Le chef nous concocte d'excellents repas, le personnel est vraiment adorable. Lex nous a guidées sur tous les safaris, au top ! Les éléphants ne sont pas venus nous rendre visite à ma grande tristesse mais ce n'est que partie remise. Je serais bien restée plus longtemps. Vraiment incroyable, et excellent rapport qualité prix.

Le personnel est plus qu'adorable, les repas sont excellents, la chambre magnifique tout comme le lieu en pleine réserve avec le passage des animaux ! Les safaris ont été les meilleurs que nous ayons faits en Afrique du Sud, notre guide a été vraiment super ! Nous rêvons d'y retourner.

Reviewed Oct 3, 2025Ja, wat moet je zeggen na zo'n verblijf. Woorden schieten tekort. De lodge is met zoveel liefde en aandacht voor detail opgezet. Het is kleinschalig, want er is maar plek voor 10 personen. Alles is met zoveel liefde gedaan en aan alles is gedacht. Van de super safari met kundige gids (dankjewel Lex!). De warme drankjes in de ochtend die je mee kunt nemen op safari. De poncho's met een ingenaaide deken voor als het koud wordt. De verlichting, het kampvuur en de drankjes wanneer je terugkomt (dankjewel Angela!). De chef Gopolang die elk gerecht bij het uitserveren met een lach komt toelichten.

Lodge intimiste avec maximum 10 personnes, le personnel est aux petits soins.
Le service est personnalisé, tout est fait pour se sentir bien et profiter au maximum de la nature et des safaris.
Merci aux guides pour les safaris et au personnel pour les repas, le service et l'accueil que vous nous avez réservé !
Les espaces communs sont spacieux et confortables.
Nous avions la tente la plus éloignée des espaces communs et on se sentait seuls au milieu de la savane. Nous nous faisions raccompagnés quand le soleil était soleil couché.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025Van het begin tot het einde stond het Isambane team voor ons klaar. Een warm welkom met een welkomsdrankje, en alles wat daarna volgde was tot in de puntjes goed verzorgd. De locatie is fantastisch met de drinkpool voor de vlonder waar je het ontbijt, lunch en diner geserveerd krijgt. Over het eten gesproken.. een dikke vette 10. Elke maaltijd hebben wij genoten van de kookkunsten van de kok! De safari’s worden goed verzorgd met respect voor de dieren en natuur. Wij kunnen iedereen deze plek aanbevelen! En het zal vast niet de laatste keer zijn dat wij hier zijn geweest!

Reviewed Sep 11, 2025Als je twijfelt waar je verblijven rondom Kruger, laat dit je teken zijn om Isambane Camp te boeken. Fantastische plek midden in de bush, het personeel zorgt ervoor dat alles naar wens is, het eten is top en de drives zijn een goede combinatie van veel zien en informatie.
Wij hebben 2 geweldige dagen gehad hier en zouden het iedereen aanraden!

De porties zijn groot, en het is heerlijk.
De Game drives waren echt super!
Het personeel doet er alles aan om jou al je werk uit handen te nemen hier hebt je echt vakantie.
Heel de nacht hebben we leeuwen horen brullen dat is wel geweldig voor de ervaring. De volgende dag hebben we ze gezocht en heel snel gevonden. Prachtig!

Reviewed Aug 31, 2025Our stay at Isambane Bush Camp was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when we had a flat tire – they took care of it immediately and took the tire to the nearest town for repair. The food was delicious, the location right by the waterhole is unique, and the game drives were an unforgettable experience. We felt completely at ease and can highly recommend this camp for an authentic safari experience!
The bush cabins are really small and there is nearly no space for the bags and personal belongings. But this was the only thing which was not perfect.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2025De exclusiviteit en de persoonlijke aandacht van al het personeel. Het eten was echt fantastisch evenals de expertise van de gids tijdens de gamedrives. De omgeving en aankleding was ook fantastisch. We hebben bijzonder wild bij de accommodatie zien voorbij trekken.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025Tout était parfait. Un emplacement magnifique,très confortable avec des tentes de grands standing ,bien équipées. Le personnel est au petit soin mais en toute simplicité . La cuisine est très bonne, servie sur le deck avec vue sur la nature et les animaux quand ils viennent boire. Le top!
Le guide était très sympathique,passionné ,intéressant. On a eu la chance d’assister à la traque d’impalas par un léopard à quelques mètres de nous! Un moment unique et inoubliable!

Reviewed Aug 12, 2025Hier word je ontvangen als koningen. Het eten is heerlijk, de plaats waar je zit om te eten prima. Mooie gamedrives in een heel comfortabele auto. Heel enthousiaste gidsen die blijven speuren naar sporen. Heel vriendelijk personeel, we zijn 2 dagen verwend geweest.
Hutje was wat klein.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2025Je zit in de middle of Knowhere; maar je wordt volledig ontzorgd en in de watten gelegd. Heerlijk eten, 2 gamedrives per dag met gidsen die heel veel weten en enthousiast vertellen over de dieren, de natuur en aanverwante zaken. Echt een heel bijzondere ervaring.
Er viel niets tegen; maar je moet ook geen grote accomodatie en veel luxe in je huisje verwachten. Douche, wc en klein beetje ruimte voor je koffer en buitenom ga je naar boven waar eigenlijk alleen een bed is. Helemaal prima; want je slaapt er alleen; maar soms een beetje krap.

L’extrême gentillesse de tout le personnel avec une mention spéciale pour Shayna qui a tout fait pour s’assurer que notre expérience (et nos transferts) soit la plus parfaite possible. La nourriture était excellente également
Absolument RIEN (mon fiancé dira que les portions du repas du midi sont peut-être un peu légères, mais sinon tout est vraiment parfait).

Reviewed Jul 22, 2025Wow what a place. Middle of the bush and you really feel part of nature. Super friendly staff, great food, so much animal life. We had a leopard we could see from our dining area. Rare to have an actual 10/10 experience, but this was it.
Minor, but they still use plastic straws. Which I think doesn’t fit this property

Reviewed Jul 4, 2025We really can’t fault our stay at Isambane. The lodge, food and safari drives were all incredible and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was ever too much trouble. We stayed for four nights and saw the big five and more, we also saw elephants from the terrace as we had our breakfast. We loved our time here and hope to come back one day!

Desde a recepção de absolutamente todas as pessoas do staff, extremamente cuidadosos e preocupados com a experiência dos hóspedes, as acomodações (o quarto é pequeno mas confortável, o chuveiro maravilhoso), o contato presente com a natureza em toda a volta dos cômodos do hotel. Os guias são muito especialistas na busca pelos animais, explicam tudo o que você quiser saber sobre a vida na selva, estão sempre em contato com outros guias da reserva para se comunicar sobre os animais, carro confortável com paradas para comer, tive ótimas experiências durante o Safari. Mas pessoalmente, o que tornou a hospedagem inesquecível, foi o water hole em frente a piscina do hotel com a visita diária dos animais para beber água. Estar no Isambane tornou minha experiência de Safari maravilhosa e eu voltaria mil vezes

Reviewed May 25, 2025O Isambane foi muito mais do que um lodge, foi uma experiência inesquecível em nossas vidas. Durante nossa estadia, nos sentimos verdadeiramente parte de uma família. O cuidado, a atenção aos detalhes e a comida deliciosa tornaram tudo ainda mais especial. Cada momento foi único e acolhedor. Recomendamos de olhos fechados, e esperamos, de coração, poder voltar um dia e viver ainda mais dias nesse lugar mágico.

Reviewed May 7, 2025Wir haben eine Woche im Camp verbracht – und unsere hohen Erwartungen wurden nicht nur erfüllt, sondern sogar übertroffen. Die täglichen Pirschfahrten waren ein absolutes Highlight. Wir haben eine beeindruckende Vielzahl an Tieren gesehen und dabei nicht nur die „Big Five“ bewundern können, sondern auch viele andere faszinierende Tierbegegnungen erlebt. Dabei haben die Ranger uns auch viel Wissenswertes erzählt. Direkt am Pool des Camps tauchten immer wieder Elefanten und andere Tiere auf – ein einzigartiges Erlebnis in entspannter Atmosphäre. Das Camp selbst ist wunderschön in die Natur eingebettet und strahlt eine familiäre, herzliche Stimmung aus. Das gesamte Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam. Nach jeder Pirschfahrt war unser Zimmer bereits frisch gemacht – ein Service, der uns sehr beeindruckt hat. Auch kulinarisch wurden wir rundum verwöhnt. Das Essen war durchweg hervorragend – abwechslungsreich, liebevoll zubereitet und absolut köstlich. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt eine perfekte Mischung aus Abenteuer, Erholung und Genuss. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder und bleiben länger.

Reviewed Apr 20, 2025Das Isambane Camp war die absolut schönste Unterkunft unserer Südafrika Reise. Es gibt nur 4 Zimmer, so dass man es hier in Ruhe genießen kann. Emma hat uns wunderbar betreut und wir haben sie in unser Herz geschlossen 🥰
Eines Abends kam sogar eine riesige Elefantenherde zum Pool und zum Wasserloch 🥰 gerne wieder 😃
