Absolutely loved our stay at this property, The place was beautifully maintained, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent, and the property had a wonderful atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

The host was very lovely and took very care of us. Her food in the morning was very delicious and it never disappointed. Everyday was different in the food selection and the whole stay was incredible.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mayflower Heritage Villa. We stayed for one night enroute to our week‑long road trip, and the experience was truly memorable from the moment we arrived. Susan welcomed us with a nice hot tea, which immediately made us feel at home after a long drive. This charming 100‑year‑old heritage villa is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful garden and a warm, homely atmosphere. Susan and her son Amal were exceptional hosts, kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, and even packed fruits for us to take along on our road trip, a gesture we deeply appreciated. The rooms were neat, tidy, and comfortable for a family. Breakfast was fresh, homely, and delicious. The location is ideal, peaceful and away from traffic, yet close to both the beach and the boathouse. Overall, our stay at Mayflower Heritage Villa was outstanding. You can really feel the 'home' at this home-stay. The best part of this place is the host, Susan. She is so warm, welcoming and resourceful. She helped us plan and organize our activities during our stay and is also an amazing cook! The food here was delicious, especially the authentic kerala breakfast! The villa is beautiful, peaceful and is walking distance from the beach. It really exceeded our expectations and is truly the best homestay I have ever stayed at!

The host Ms. Susan is such a warm and friendly lady. The location of the Villa is a big plus as all the attractions are nearby and autos/taxis are easily available. We stayed in the family room which was spacious enough to accommodate our family of three quite comfortably (in fact it can accommodate 4 adults easily). And the cherry on top is the lip-smacking delicious breakfast Ms. Susan serves her guests every morning. Egg Curry and Masala Dosa we had are the best we've had anywhere till date.

The only suggestion i can give is to include the Television inside the family room instead of a separate sitting outside. This will ensure privacy and comfort for the guests as well as the host.

Susan is the best host I have ever met! She makes you feel like at home, like you are a part of her family. She can organise a boat trip for you, call a tuctuc driver, suggest nice places around. The room is clean and the traditional breakfast is amazing!

If you’re unsure where to stay in Alleppey, book this home stay! Susan looked after me brilliantly from arriving late in the evening to thoughtful recommendation of activities I might enjoy, without being overbearing. The room was clean and comfortable (and huge!) and the daily breakfasts were a highlight. Susan is clearly very well respected by the local community and this helps to ensure a fantastic stay and a comforting environment. Everything was brilliant- and I hope to stay again.

We stayed 2 nights at the mayflower heritage villa. It is one of our favourite places we stayed in kerala. Susan is a lovely host. She made us delicious breakfast and was very helpful in booking a houseboat trip. The location is perfect. Only 10 mins walk to beach and cafes. The rooms are charming and very comfortable! We would definitely come back.

The staff, the location and the cleanliness of the place

The villa is vintage and rooms are spacious. It is maintained impeccably by Mrs. Susan Mathew, who is a very kind host. The breakfast we were offered was exceptional. We ate a vegetarian breakfast of masala dosa, sambhar, coconut chutney and fruit salad. Most of the fruits were from her own organic garden. The sambhar was very rich and wholesome, with a lot of veggies unlike the watery sambhar that most restaurants offer.

An absolutely outstanding stay! This beautiful century-old house is full of charm and authenticity, creating a truly unique and unforgettable atmosphere. The room is spacious, beautifully decorated, with very comfortable bedding, fully equipped with air conditioning, and features a large and very comfortable bathroom. The Indian breakfast was a real treat: incredibly fresh, generous, and carefully prepared. Even during our one-night stay, it was a lovely experience. What truly makes this place exceptional, though, is the host. She is unbelievably kind, always available, attentive, and genuinely caring. She goes above and beyond to make you feel at home—if not even better! A place I would recommend without any hesitation.

Das Gebäude liegt in einer Wohnsiedlung außerhalb der Stadt und auch bis an den Strand sind es jeweils etwa 1km. Von einer sehr freundlichen Familie geführte Einrichtung mit insgesamt 3 Wohneinheiten. Unsere Einheit bestand aus einem sehr großen Wohn/Schlafzimmer mit guter Ausstattung und einem WC. Unser Frühstück war sehr großzügig dimensioniert und bestand aus ausgezeichneten Speisen der indischen Küche. Insgesamt eine empfehlenswerte Übernachtungsmöglichkeit.

Die Wege in die Stadt und ans Meer waren bei der großen Hitze etwas lästig. Tuk-Tuks kamen in unterschiedlicher Häufigkeit und es gab hier auch unschöne Szenen.

IDas sehr ansprechende Gebäude befindet sich in einer sehr angenehmen, ruhigen Wohnsiedlung am Rande der Stadt. Ins Zentrum, wie auch zum Strand sind es jeweils etwa 1km. Betrieben wird dieses Objekt von einer sehr freundlichen Familie in Form von 3 separaten Wohneinheiten, die sehr angenehm gestaltet sind. Unsere Einheit bestand aus einem sehr großen Wohn/Schlafzimmer mit guter Ausstattung und einem WC. Unser Frühstück war sehr großzügig dimensioniert und bestand aus Speisen der indischen Küche. Die Atmosphäre und auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis haben gestimmt und wir können diese Einrichtung sehr empfehlen.

Absolutely nothing

The host was very warm and helpful. She helped us book a tuk-tuk to the restaurant and the train station. She also suggested local cafés and beach areas to explore. The breakfast was very tasty, and we ate to our fill.

Mayflower should be your first choice in Allepey if you want to have a cozy stay with a nice atmosphere like home. Especially Susan takes care of everything, special mention to her cooking skills and the food. Felt like a home. Will always recommend Mayflower as the first place if someone asks me about stays in Allepey.

Hospitality was top notch. Susan Madam took time from her busy schedule to talk to us, and on our request, she and her family, prepared dinner. Dinner was a lavish feast and we appreciated the effort they took to prepare such a great meal, on very short notice. The property is in a Heritage area of the town, it is also close to beach, jetty and station - all are 5 to 15 min auto ride away.

Everything was perfect really. Maybe tea/coffee cups, glasses and tea coffee kit could be provided, because a good electric kettle was there.

We had 3 nights with Susan at the beautiful Mayflower homestay. She looked after us like part of the family and for that we are really thankful x Breakfast was different every day, egg curry, masala dosai, chutneys and curries,spiced tea and coffees.She even made us a special meal on our last night and sent us on our way with snacks and treats. Our room was great.. beautiful old style, fan and AC , kettle, plenty of drinking water, lovely bathroom,great shower pressure, super hot water,body wash, shampoo, lots of storage space. Warm welcome, great room, overall nice house. For some, the mattress could be too hard, but we loved it. Easily the best breakfast we've had on the trip!

I would not book the offered Backwater tour again since I'd prefer a smaller boat that goes into smaller canals as well. On top of was announced as sunrise tour, but we got picked up too late for that.

It's Clean, well maintained and a cozy stay. Rooms are spacious and washrooms are big and maintained very clean. Host Susan is warm and welcoming. Breakfast was homely cooked and very delicious. Highly recommended for couples who want to spend time in a peaceful environment. Please be respectful about rules and regulations of this homestay.

The washroom basin should be provided with a handwash unit.

Susan is an exceptional host. She is always smiling and is very, very helpful. Location is superb just a twenty minute walk to the town beach, and local restaurants are close by as are any other supplies you need. Her South Indian breakfasts are fantastic, all home cooked for her guests. Duck egg curry for breakfast - amazing. Whatever you need Susan can arrange it for you. She organised an early morning 3 hour boat trip and she organised her driver to take us back to Cochin. If I could give Susan 11 stars I would!

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einem schönen alten Haus, in guter und ruhiger Lage zwischen Strand und Hafen, wo die Boote in die Backwaters abfahren. Die Gastgeberin und ihr Sohn kümmern sich wirklich rührend um ihre Gäste. Es gibt ein ausgezeichnetes südindisches Frühstück mit frischem Obst. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder da buchen, wenn ich in Allepey bin.

Wspaniała rodzina, która przywitała nas bardzo serdecznie. Gospodyni przygotowała dla nas pyszne śniadanie oraz lunch, bardzo obfite złożone z lokalnych dań. Gospodyni zorganizowała dla nas również rejs po rozlewiskach. Mogliśmy spokojnie zostawić tez dłużej nasze motocykle i bagaże. Dom jest bezpieczny, bardzo czysty z pięknym klimatem. Spacerem w 10 min można dojść do plaży.

Notre hôte a été charmante. Accueil avec un exellent jus de fruit du jardin, chambre fraiche ( Ac+ fan) , et propre. Grande salle d eau. Bon conseil pour une adresse de restau. Notre hôte nous a organisé à notre demande une excursion ds les backwaters au petit matin ainsi qu un chauffeur pour rejoindre notre étape suivante. Bon petit déjeuner indien + fruits. A recommander.

The stay was exceptional. The room was super clean. Exceptional home food with a number of options. Host Susan took care of our stay so well... She planned out itinerary based on inputs from us nd arranged autos for transit. She booked shikara on behalf of us and gave thoughtful suggestions. She packed the snacks for our shikara ride. We just had to book the stay. Susan takes care of rest. Thank you Susan chechi.

There was mold smell in some of the cupboards. Must be due to the age of the cupboards. But that didn't interfere with the stay anyways...

Living in a well maintained 96 year old property along with an amazing team who went out of their way to help us given that my wife had fallen sick. Definitely would recommend this place.

Mancava l'acqua calda e la posizione non è il massimo poiché è distante dalla zona dei ristoranti e per spostarsi abbiamo sempre preso un tuk tuk. La colazione è inclusa ma purtroppo è la colazione indiana 🥲
