Está ubicado en una calle con camino de tierra, no me lo esperaba ya que está a cinco cuadras del centro de la ciudad, el aseo de las dependencias es malo y encontramos oscura la Hostel, muebles viejos y muy mal cuidados y deteriorados, sábanas, cubre camas y toallas manchadas y percudidas, sobre todo las toallas, realmente si no me fui de ahí es porque mis hijos estaban agotados de tanto tracking y cerca había comercio. Otros lugares estaban más retirados y en la ciudad se ve gente en situación de calle y la presencia de perros vagos, por lo que no quise arriesgarme.

Si existia café y te para servirse, pero como decia en la página que había desayuno yo no compré nada y me fui a mi trabajo sin desayuno. Sin embargo, me gustó mucho las instalaciones, la limpieza y la casa es preciosa. La cosina es muy linda y acogedora y muy bien equipada. Excelente.

Our host's friendliness, helpfulness, and excellent recommendations for places to visit made our stay special. We particularly enjoyed trying delicious local specialties at the Mercado Municipal, which he advised us. We even extended our stay! Thanks a lot!

Bien que le hostel soit super bien situé dans la ville, ça devenait parfois assez bruyant dans la rue juste en face.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2025Muy buena localización. El señor que nos atendió fue amble y de gran ayuda. El baño y espacios comunes estuvieron muy limpios todos los días. La cocina estaba completa y tenía de todo para poder cocinar.
Hacía mucho frío en las habitaciones pues la calefacción estaba en el espacio común así que tenías que elegir entre pasar frío o dormir con la puerta abierta en un hostel con otra gente…

Reviewed Dec 1, 2024Great location in Castro, 10 mins walk from main bus station to all the local villages and islands. Roberto the host was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen was well equipped.
This property feels more like a home stay than a hostel / hotel. It’s a big old house and the heating / plumbing js dated. The showers weren’t really hot and there’s no heating in the room. Our first night was cold BUT if you ask for a heater there should be a plug in one available which we greatly appreciated. Everything in the property is quite dated, but it has its own charm.

The kitchen was well equipped and a good space for cooking and dining. Close to town and overall really positive experience here.

Reviewed Nov 27, 2024We loved this hostel so much we stayed for 3 nights rather than the 1 we had originally planned. It’s super comfy and cosy with log burning stoves . The kitchen is really well-kitted out and comfortable to be in. The whole place is really clean and the water is very hot. Walkable from the centre of town and the bus station. We spent a couple of days camping in Chiloe National Park and were able to leave the rest of our gear at the hostel safely. On our return we were invited to a bbq with the hostel owner and his friends and family - it was the nicest evening we’ve had in Chile and we only retreated to bed at 11pm as we were knackered from our walking earlier in the day. Couldn’t recommend this hostel highly enough!

Most comfy bed we have had so far. Showers were clean and hot with good pressure. Kitchen was stocked! Have laundry facilities avaliable Highly recommend!

Reviewed Aug 3, 2024Excellent location, very close to the Bus terminal, the city center and the Pedro Montt palafitos. Even if you're just passing by you can see the palafitos with a short walk.
There is no heating within the rooms (the one I was at, at least), so they can get a little cold. An internal heater or some heat distribution vents would make it perfect. The rest of the house is very warm and Cozy.

It was quite cold in the rooms at night as the central heating did not work very well.

Reviewed Feb 11, 2024This is a superb hotel. I had a single room for the price of a dorm. Its very clean. Pablo who runs the hotel was great. When I arrived they were doing a free bbq and I was invited to join - with wine included. Everyone was very warm and friendly despite my lack of Spanish. They don't do the bbq every day, I think I got lucky. but even without the bbq I will return because there was such a good atmosphere. The free breakfast was great too.

Reviewed Dec 5, 2023Roberto was a warm and welcoming host. The location was great, only a 5 min walk to the big supermarket and bus terminal and close to the centre. Room's were spacious and comfortable, it had a great homely feel.
Only small complaint is it was a little cold in the communal areas, but the fire in the evening was a great touch.
