I liked the choice of different, fun rooms - the treehouse, the camper van and the huts
I booked a camper van and the owner moved me to a more expensive hut without informing me. I couldn’t move to the room I booked as others were there. Staff were nice but poorly trained. More workers than guests staying there and they were a bit cliquey
Great social atmosphere and awesome location by the lake, bar onsite is great and staff activities such as pub quiz great for bringing everyone together.
Very messy and weird design - rubbish and cooking items at bottom of stairs blocking way to bathroom for one example. Weird design as only bathroom accessible from single room was down stairs via kitchen. Being above kitchen also meant constant loud noise early and late.
La localisation
Le bruit (jusqu'à 3h du matin)
Stayed in the campervan, which was nice and comfy. They also provide outside lockers (bring your own lock) to keep your items safe in case of an early check-in (or if you're staying in one of the campervans).
Campervan didn't lock, was under maintenance.
If you want to meet other travellers this might be the place for you. Nice outside area.
I honestly don't understand why this hostel is so well rated. The bathrooms are small and quite dirty and there is mold everywhere. The kitchen is also not very clean and especially the manager of this hostel has such an attitude that makes you want to leave this place immediately.
Great location - the only redeeming quality
Rude and unhelpful staff - worst I’ve met in 3 months travelling South America Communal areas (bathrooms/kitchens) were filthy and small. One bathroom did not appear to be cleaned during our 3 night stay. Room was very small Overpriced
Really great location. Very friendly staff. Had two very differens expieriences: First room (3 nights) was really crappy: small room, bed and pillow was smelly, bed noisy/squeking, very noisy room/outside noise. Second room (3 nights): comfortable bed, nice indoor temperature, good size dorm and quiet at night.
See above of diffent rooms - one bad one good. In general a noisy place with not many relaxing places to hang out - as the outdoor Spaces was occupied by smokers. Main building quite run Down, with very small kitchen but atmosphere relaxed. The friendly staff compensates for some of the shortcomings. It was Said that this is the best hostel in Chile, so i was dissappointed; have stayed at better - also in Chile.
Perfect location along the lake very near the city center. Very good and friendly atmosphère, nice and cosy common spaces, easy to meet and exchange with. Perfect place to stay some days and enjoy the surroundings
Property is right on the waterfront so has great views of the lake. Staff are very friendly - we stayed over Xmas and they organised a Xmas dinner!
Kitchens could do with a proper clean! There was never a towel to dry dishes. Fridges were cleaned out for Xmas but prior to that were packed with old food.
very lovely place directly on the lakeside. we stayed on the treehouse which was really special and had a perfect view. i loved it. take into account that it's quite small and there is a direct neighbouring room in the treehouse with other guests. i loved the atmosphere and vibe of the hostel. the bathrooms and kitchen could have been a bit cleaner but this is everything I could criticize.
My stay here was incredible! The hostel offers a stunning view of the lake, paired with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready with helpful suggestions and recommendations for local activities. It's an ideal spot for travelers looking for both comfort and adventure. Highly recommend!
Kitchens are well equipped. Hobbit huts are were cosy and warm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Attracts the kind of open and adventurous guests, so great company in the hostel for solo or group travellers.
Bathrooms were usually high in demand, would be great if the property had more bathrooms.
Great location, helpful staff and lots of different living spaces.
Kitchens need more cooking equipment and the rooms are quite small.
Staff super helpful and above and beyond Interesting people
Food stolen Bed squeaky in hobbit house Treehouse a challenge—not much space for two people Hard to go up and down Difficult to get in and out of bed in treehouse and very aware of noise as close to other people
Nice hostel in Pucón. We had a "hobbit" cabin which was fun. An hostel as we like with friendly staff, friendly people staying there and great location in Pucón.
Bathroom and kitchen need some refreshing.
Really cosy place. Heating in all the rooms including the bathrooms. Great kitchen and communal area. Always clean. Had a really nice atmosphere. Nice location by the lake.
Charging the foreign tax unless I paid in dollars or euros. I didn't have this issue in hostels previous to this paying in pesos . This made the stay quite expensive. Downstairs room was quite hard to sleep in a couple of the nights due to noise from communal area, people up late and music playing.
Nice location at the front of the lake. Kitchen facilities good. Cozy chill out areas nice too. Rooms small but nice with heaters.
Shower wasn’t the best for pressure and heat.
Great Place, the extra kitchen outside was very nice and the hobbit houses as well. Felt really welcomed and the location at the lake and next to the centre was perfect.
Great location off of the lake, sociable atmosphere, friendly staff, comfy beds and great kitchen.
One staff member was a bit inflexible about the payment method and check in seemed quite long.
The best hostel is Pucon! The hostel is nothing but amazing. It exceeded my expectations. The facilities are great and so are the staff. Great beds, clean showers, and an amazingly clean hostel. Common areas are top notch! Special thanks to Paula for making my stay the best it could be! I'll definitely be back!
Hands down the best hostel in Pucon!
Staff was super friendly and helpful by planning activities. A great place to meet people and finding hiking buddies. Also one of the first hostels in Chile I stayed in that was well heated, in general just super cozy. I would come back in a heartbeat.
such a fun traveler community. perfect location and loads of recommendations. you’ll likely want to stay longer than you originally planned!
Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Perfect atmosphere and always welcoming. Nice places to make dinner even though it gets crowded because everyone wants to be with each other in the same kitchen. Right in the city centre!
A bit pricey, but well worth it for the atmosphere
- Staff very helpful with excursion recommendations - Great location on the lake, great view of sunsets - we stayed in cabin, was clean, heater provides good warmth. - two kitchens, both well equipped.
- nothing
Location
Great vibe, super friendly and helpful staff, good location for taking kayaks out and spacious kitchens to cook in. Lived up to the hype.
The pillows in our private room were a little uncomfortable but no other complaints!
amazing location right by the lake where you can watch a stunning sunset. Comfortable dorms, good and clean bathrooms and three well equipped kitchens
Nothing
Staff, including the owner, were AMAZING. Super helpful & friendly.
The bunk beds were children's bunks, so you couldn't sit up in the bed to read or write if in the bottom bunk. But rooms were clean and provided a locker.
Great atmosphere. Lovely owners
The best hostel I stayed in South America! Great people and fantastic memories. - amazing sunset views, they also let you bring your own beers in which helps contribute to the fun atmosphere - staff helped book all my activities and explained all the things we could do - bedroom was so cool, my dorm was a Harry Potter theme in the attic - kitchen had lots of people cooking and was really sociable at night
The best it was the environment and the kitchen outside.
The bed… too much noisy.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was great and very convenient for everything.
The dorm I stayed in seemed small for the number of guests sleeping there
everything
nothing bad
the staff is really great, the vibes of the place and of the people are wonderful, close to the beach and you can see the bests sunsets and the villarrica volcano at night. the kitchens are very clean and well equipped.
quite a lot of spiders at the hobbit hut, one night the electricity was down and in the central building there isn’t always hot water
very friendly staff, and great opportunities for cooking your own food. A place to feel relaxed
Great location near shops and restaurants, very convenient.
When I arrived I was told the tour I’ve been waiting to hike for months was not available on Monday. I was asking for updates on this tour for weeks, however no one mentioned that there is a meeting at the tour company a day before the hike otherwise I would’ve flew in earlier. What if I was only in Pucon for 3 nights? I would’ve missed the opportunity to hike Volcan Villarica, this hike depends on good weather and there were only two sunny days during my stay. I think the staff need to work on communication and being attentive to guest requests. I also was not given a tour of the hostel, the girl at check-in Kat, was nice however she was not considerate of my check-in and decided to help other guests and send me upstairs with no information. I had to figure everything out and it seemed like the manager there wasn’t that helpful either when I tried asking for tours and availability for the second volcano hike, I never heard back from them “although they said they’d let me know of availability “ I was a bit disappointed but overall I was able to hike Villarica last minute. Please work on better communication with guests and greet them at check-in!
sociable and friendly. staff helpful
amazing and beautiful place with lots if good recommendations it’s definitely a place where they know what they’re doing.
they told me and my one friend i was talking to at 23:00 to go inside , we were smoking outside. we were talking so quietly but they have these insane house rules. if we ain’t bothering nobody don’t come bothering me
Perfect hostel! Very friendly and helpfull people! WiFi, parking place, lockers, hot showers, beautiful commun areas with a bar, kitchen, many activities to book.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, good bbq and kitchen facilities. Lots of activities. Great vib. Tree House accommodation was fantastic with lovely sunsets over the lake. View of volcano right out front door! Large lockers available
Great location and place to spend Christmas - staff was super friendly and helpful
This hostel was fantastic. The location is stunning, the vibe was great from staff and other backpackers and they have a real great selection of room types and facilities. The daily briefing and advice on what to do in Pucon is also really useful.
Very minor things! The bunk beds in the dorm were a bit creeky and it would have been useful to have a few more places to hang things up e.g. wet towels!
They organised a big christmas dinner with all the guests, it was amazing and I will never forget it.The hostel is very social but they are also respectful of ppl that need to be up early. Not a problem as it is near the lake so you can go there to carry on drinking / chatting. Best place to stay in Pucon.
was a bit crammed in the kitchen at times, there are 3 but there are a lot of ppl as well. I think a bit more social space could help as well but having less meant ppl were close together so that kinda forced ppl to meet which is nice
One of the very few hostels in which you feel involved right in, friendly staff/volunteers, they introduce you to loads of activities and can book through them. The hostel has a great style, loved the layout, very unique. Was always clean and the rooms get tidied up almost every day.
Nothing
The location was perfect and only a few mins walk from the centre of town. When we arrived the staff explained the activities offered and booked us on to the Villarricca trek. We had a car and were able to park within the hostel grounds most days. There was a small bar in the main building which served draft beer. The showers and toilets were located in different areas of the hostel and clean. Showers were hot. There were two kitchens which had plenty of space. It was a very busy fun hostel and there were long term guests who had been there a while.
To access the car park we had to ask staff to open the gates and we felt uncomfortable asking them as they generally could not be bothered. The staff and some guests had a BBQ in the garden and our accommodation was in a hut right beside the BBQ area. The music was VERY loud all day long, we actually left the hostel to get away from the noise. We were leaving to trek early the next morning and had to ask for the music to be turned down that night. Eventually they moved elsewhere in the hostel. I think this was just a one off.
Location, super staff, comfy beds, plugs to charge phones and good internet
Not enough toilets and shower. Maybe a little bit noisy and kitchen are not well equipped
atmosphere, location, the van
kitchen not clean and often crowded
location close to the lake and cute hostel setup with decentralized kitchens to mingle with other travelers. very social hostel with a bar.
it’s not directly on the lake (what we somehow expected) and the dorm rooms are actually relatively small: but generally great hostel and I enjoyed my time here.
The staff, the location, the tree house to have a beer, the hamac, the friendly atmosphere. The bed are really comfy. Definitely a good place to be if you are a solo traveler.
It could be cleaner
Location was perfect, by lake and close enough to the main street. Great for also meeting and socialise with other travellers. We stayed in the tree house, quite cosy, and had great views of the lake and sunset.
The place is filthy, especially the shared kitchens and toilets. The hostel attracts a very young crowd that don't clean up after themselves. The kitchen is always full of used pans and dishes. And good luck finding any space in the fridge. We stayed for 6 nights and had these issues daily. Also, our food kept getting stolen from the kitchen despite labelling it. The internet is non existent, buy your own mobile data plan if you need internet!
Awesome hostel! Great location, close to the city center and the lake but in a quiet area. Nice and social atmosphere, great common rooms and gardens. In the garden are several cute and comfortable wooden ‘hobbit’ houses and old vans as private rooms. Great view on the lake from the treehouse. 3 kitchens. Friendly and helpful staff. Kayaks for rent. Social activities are organised and there is a bar, but after 11 pm is it necessary to be quiet to ensure a good night of sleep.
Nothing. Breakfast not included but supermarkets are close by.
Lakefront
Run by volunteers so no one knows what is going on
Awesome location, great vibe, nice outdoors areas, staff was welcoming and very helpful.
Cleanliness wasn't the best.
Clean, easy communication. Very friendly and helpfull people! Very nicely furnished and equipped hostel!
The hobbitroom was very comfortable and the facilities were clean. The location is excellent. overall nice stay.
Some staff weren’t very friendly.
really cool social hostel. good for activities in pucon
great facilites and spacious areas
- great social area, bar and lakefront location - friendly and helpful staff, with lots of information on tours - large bedroom and good shower
- the bed was a bit uncomfortable and squeaky - poor soundproofing in the building - slightly expensive given no breakfast
Probably one of the most relaxing place I’ve ever stayed. Homemade treehouse to relax, have cup of tea, read, overlooking the lake at sunset. Other hang-out areas in the garden. The second kitchen in the garden is lovely to meet other people I stayed in a small, barrel-like cabin with electric heating, small seating area outside, very nice. Very helpful staff re info in local activities. if you like meeting other backpackers, this is the place.
Well, the kitchen does look like a backpackers place, but good for meeting people
location was excellent
communal kitchens (as in most hostels) were not clean. pots and pans were old and need replacing. the floor and surfaces need a deep clean / refurb
Great and many kitchens. Staff were all awesome. Amazing location. Social vibe. Everything was great. The 8 bed cabin was one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in.
I switched to the 6 bed dorm for the last day, and it wasn't as nice, but everything else was great.
