Reviewed Aug 8, 2026This was little way off the Dungarvan to Waterford Cycle Greenway (40 mins by bike- exit just after 22km in Waterford direction, but it was worth it as we discovered the beeches of the Copper Coast. These remain in tourist terms undiscovered and are perfect roads for cylcing. The bedroom and bed clothing was spotless and the washrooms and showers were perfectly clean.
The kitchen has all it needs and is about to be refurbished. Prices in Ireland compared to the equivalent in Germany seem high but this was cheapest I could find in what was a half way cycle journey between Cork and Rosslare.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026The hostel was a great place to stay. Our late arrival was accommodated. The manager, Nicholas, welcomed us in the morning and gave us great suggestions about our ongoing journey. The hostel was clean and comfortable with table tennis and pool table. It was in a beautiful situation near Bunmahon. We enjoyed our stay.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2026Nicholas was a great host and both himself and his better half were very helpful and accommodating. The place is well kept and not too far from the places of interest (Geopark/ Bunmahon Beach/ Copper Mines). The rates were very reasonable, especially for the middle of summer and we would certainly love to visit again sometime. The living room was spacious and the kitchen well stocked with all cooking equipment. There are multiple bathroom facilities and everything is kept spotless.

Pas de serviettes de douche à disposition. L'indication pour l'accueil n'est pas très claire, les aboiements des chiens font hésiter a ouvrir le portillon, mais finalement il faut oser.

IL a également mis en place un espace de jeux avec les moyens du bord (billards quilles...) utile en cas de pluie. cuisine avec tout le nécessaire. Rapport qualité prix excellent.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026I was there during the early season and I had a private room. It was quiet and peaceful and there was plenty of parking. Bed was comfortable and the heat worked well.
There are several small fridges some of which seem to be on their last legs. Even with it being slow while I was there I found it a challenge to keep my few food items in a working fridge.

Very private and safe rooms. The staff was amazing and even offered us a ride to are bus station when leaving.

Reviewed May 10, 2026Nicholas was very accommodating when we landed and gave us the tour of the place. The hostel facilities such as the kitchen, living room, shower and toilets were clean and spacious. I specially love the games room because I played pool with my dad and it has other games you can try as well. I would definitely recommend this place as the room was value for money, great location because it is literally 30 minutes away to everything we want to go: Tramore, Waterford City, Dungarvan and Mahon Falls. and the owner Nicholas was very welcoming, helpful and friendly overall.

The room did not match the images on the website. There was a strong smell of smoke in the room, and even after airing before bed, the odour worsened during the night and woke me up around 1:30 a.m. I had to open the window, which made the room cold and left me feeling uncomfortable and chilly. As a non-smoker, I found the smell very hard to tolerate and quite upsetting. A night light stayed on in the room all night, and the constant brightness affected my sleep. I also noticed a dark hair on the bed, making me wonder whether the bedding had been changed recently. Unfortunately, the quality of the stay did not match the cost. I would not return.

A large group of males who seem to be construction workers who live there. They didn't look like guests or tourists. They were very loud past 10pm (against the quiet time policy), snoring all night, banging doors and shouting all over the place from 6 am. We didn't get much sleep and were wrecked the following day.

Reviewed Apr 27, 2026Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich habe mich gleich zu Beginn sehr willkommen gefühlt. Der Inhaber ist ein ganz lieber Kerl mit dem man sich gut unterhalten kann :)
Die Küche war zum Teil einbischen dreckig. Die Air Fryer waren sehr dreckig und nicht appetitlich anzusehen ,so auch die Mikrowelle. Die Heizung hat die ganze Zeit geknarzt, so dass ich sie über Nacht ausschalten musste und morgens leicht erkältet aufwachte. Generell war es sehr kalt im Hostel.

Reviewed Nov 22, 2025Nicholas was an excellent host. He gave us some good suggestions on places to visit. He clearly loves running a hostel. kitchen provided everything we needed and we had a great night sleep. beds very comfortable.
The shower itself was good but the ventilation wasn't so great which meant that things got kind of damp. It wasn't a big deal.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2025Les chambres sont en dortoir, il y a donc un esprit auberge de jeunesse. Je pense que cela convient a des voyageurs solo, en couple ou entre amis. peut-être un peu moins adapté aux familles, néanmoins il y a une grand hangar avec des jeux ( bowling en bois...)
Le fait que cela soit en dortoir , mais c'est une erreur de ma part, car c'est bien précisé dans l'annonce.

Plus de rangements dans la chambre de 4 pour un séjour de plusieurs jours aurait été plus pratique.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2025Very clean hostel, spacious room for 3 people. Good big kitchen dinng room. Very clean showers and bathrooms. Friendly host, with lots of local knowledge. Nice mix of families, and some elderly people staying there. Good facilities for teens too in the games room.
It was a few km from the sea, overall not a big problem if you have a car. It was in a peaceful rural location - good to get away from it all.

Judging this property as budget accommodation I rate it as 5 Star in that capacity. So, nothing really to fault my overnight experience.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2025Even though we arrived late, the check-in process was easy as the key was left on the desk for us. We had the chance to meet the owner the next day—he was very friendly and shared lots of helpful information about the local area, which made exploring much easier.
Unfortunately, we were disturbed a few times during the night by people running in the hallway and someone mistakenly knocking on our door. While it wasn’t the hostel’s fault, it did affect our sleep.
