Unearth Hostel (Pondicherry)

Had a great time staying here. Special thanks to Pooja and Vamsi from the reception team for helping us with our stay and guiding us on the must-visit places around. They were really friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, a great experience!

The location along with the knowledge of the host made my stay an overall fantastic experience. Vamsee is the perfect host for a property like unearth. To explore auro please reside there for atleast 1 week.

The restroom could be renovated.

The stay, the people and the whole vibe was really fun. Pooja and Vamsi were very sweet and helpful. Had the best time at Auroville. Would 10/10 recommend the place.

Es grande para estar con mas gente y jugar hacer yoga y pasar buenos ratos, puedes hacerte tu propia comida y tienes cerca un par de restaurantes que estan bien, te ayudan a buscar lo qie necesites y la comunicación para moverte por Auroville esta bien. No es ee los alojamientos propios de auroville por los ue si quieres hacer voluntariado no es tu lugar

En 3 semanas no cambiaron mis sábanas, la cocina la gente la usa y no queda limpia y esta todo un poco dejado. Pero en general muy bien calidad precio.

It is a very social place, but at the same time, we had a quiet room where we could sleep properly - not an easy task in India! Good location, comfortable, and great people working there, with whom it’s easy to become friends.

Realy comfortable place with nice cats, and an amaizing manager.

Mon hostel préféré sur mes 2 mois au sud de l'Inde. C'est propre, tellement calme, les dortoirs sont bien agencés avec rangements, prise individuelle, eau chaude. Le dortoir mixte 8 lits où j'étais est en fait 2 chambres 4 lits qui communiquent avec la SDB au milieu, du coup on était entre filles. Plein d'espaces pour socialiser ou s'isoler sont un rooftop, ce qui fait que les couches tard ne dérangent pas les lèves tôt. Le staff est lumineux et vous informe de tous les évènements du jour sur Auroville. l'hostel est bien placé, a proximité de quelques bons restos abordables. Location de scooter possible (et à mon avis indispensable). Excellentes rapport qualité-prix.

Aufgrund der Low Season hatte ich den Dorm für mich allein, das war super. Es gibt einen schönen Aufenthaltsraum und eine große Dachterrasse.

Im Hostel darf geraucht werden, das fand ich nicht gut. Im Aufenthaltsraum hat es nach Rauch gestunken.

Good place to stay to be a honest review. Comparitely other hostels in Aurovile.

The owner Prerith was super nice and gave me instructions to find interesting things around Auroville. Love the cozy corners to just read a book or sketch or journal and no one would bother you. The room could have been broomed every day, which wasn't done for the four days I was there, but otherwise the common areas are all clean and very comfy. The nonAC dorm was very comfortable even in the summer. Breakfast next door at Dinesh and Devi hotel were so affordable and yummy.

They freestyle prices. When you extend, ask for the price and compare it to booking.com They charged me a higher price then I would have paid with booking.com Since I paid at check-out, I had no proof of the lower booking price the day before.

Practically everything. The vibe there is excellent. The people are extremely helpful. It's accessible, nothing is too far away.

I've visited this hostel a couple of times now, and from the very first day, I absolutely fell in love with it. I always do thorough research before choosing a hostel, and this one exceeded all my expectations. The atmosphere, the people, and the overall vibe made it feel like a home away from home. I met some amazing people here and made unforgettable memories. The manager, Nikita, is the kindest soul—always ready to help with anything, making the stay even more special. Leaving this place was always bittersweet, and I wished I could extend my stay every time, but work never allowed it. If you're looking for a hostel experience in Auroville, this is my top recommendation!

Minor things really - AC didn't work, bathroom fan didn't work. The rooms come off balcony where others can smoke and smoke and noise comes through window.

Warmcee met us with enthusiasm and love for auroville, providing us with loads of information on what to do. Good location - hire a bike from visitors centre for a few days and cycle around

Eating out at night, had to walk a bit further but good to get exercise
