Reviewed Sep 16, 2026We stayed at Casa da Fonte while exploring Peneda-Gerês National Park and, although we only spent one night here, we had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation feels new, very clean and modern, and we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable and had enough storage space even for a longer stay. Downstairs there is a spacious breakfast area with a fridge and an electric kettle. Breakfast was varied, with plenty of options to choose from. Communication before our arrival and the self check-in were both quick and easy. In the morning, we also received some helpful tips for places to visit nearby. Even though we do not speak Portuguese, the staff were very kind, welcoming and did their best to help us. There is also a nice restaurant near the bridge in the village, perfect for lunch or dinner. Casa da Fonte is a lovely place to stay while exploring Gerês, and we would happily come back again!

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Przepiękne miejsce, idealne dla osób chcących odpocząć wśród natury bez natłoku hałasu bądź ludzi. Casa da Fonte jest bardzo zadbane. Czysto, przestronnie i z przemiłą obsługą. Śniadania bardzo smaczne. Polecam wszystkim którzy chcą w tych górach spędzić trochę czasu.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2026Super schön hergerichtet. Nach dem Trubel in Porto hat uns die ruhige Lage sehr gut gefallen. Frisch auf gebackene Croissants sind natürlich ein besonderer Bonus. Ein paar Brocken portugiesisch hätten uns in der Unterkunft geholfen, aber mit Händen, Füßen und dem Google-Übersetzer ging es auch 😄

Petit déjeuner copieux et on nous propose de nous servir pour faire un piquenique pour le midi. Restaurants, distributeur à proximité. Accueil incroyablement sympathique, on sent que les propriétaires aiment recevoir, ils partagent avec nous les choses à faire dans la région. Accès à un salon et à la cuisine. On se sent comme à la maison. Nous avions réservé pour 1 nuit, nous y sommes restés 3.

La verdad que me cancelaron el viaje para llegar desde Geres, y tenía senderos temprano, antes del horario del desayuno, y me escribió por WhatsApp dejándome tranquila que ella iba a estar, y podia llevarme el desayuno. Muy gentil, y siempre respondió mis dudas. El desayuno está bien, y es una gran ayuda para los que estamos de paso, tener heladera, cafetera y la cocina
No sabía que no harían el cuarto, pero de todas maneras, estuvo bien. Quizas incorporaria un servicio de lavarropas, ya que no hay donde lavar y colgar, y el lugar donde esta ubicado, a pie, no tiene ningún servicio, ni super.

A limpeza poderia ser um pouco melhor. Encontramos uma meia a tapar o detetor de incêndio, um papel de chocolate em uma das mesas de cabeceira e o espelho do wc também estava com "escritos" quando ficava embaciado. Atenção que não sentimos que o quarto estava com pouca higiene, achamos só que é necessário ter mais atenção a estes pequenos detalhes de limpeza.

Reviewed Oct 30, 2025Das Haus befindet sich in einem kleinen ruhigen Bergdorf. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und komfortabel. Das Frühstück war gut und frisch zubereitet. Die Angestellte war äußerst freundlich und bemüht.
Durch das Online-Checkin leider etwas unpersönlich. Während unseres Aufenthaltes war nur eine Dorfgaststätte geöffnet. Wir haben zwar immer etwas gefunden, was uns angesprochen hat, für Reisende mit besonderen Einschränkungen (Veganer etc.) jedoch schwierig.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025Excellent location in a quiet village in the midst of many sites to view and hike. Very good breakfast every morning and the staff were all great. Communication with them prior to and during visit was great as well. A great place to base park adventures from plus a decent choice of restaurant/cafe nearby.
A tad small room, but the awesome shower water pressure and temperature made up for that! Good tv channels too!

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025Carla keeps the place immaculate. Our room was very clean and modern. Had all the amenities we needed. The breakfast was very good. Carla provided us with recommendations on places to see and where to hike. Very nice and affectionate cat, which stays outside. However need a car to get here. There is a wonderful place for dinner by the bridge which is a short walk away. We had dinner there all 3 nights. Lovely stay.
