I travelled with 5 friends all in our 60's and couldnt fault Yakaduru. We loved the location and the serenity. Staff were fabulous and nothing was too much for them. We stayed in the family bungalow and loved the openness of it. All our meals were included and were fabulous. We couldn't fault our stay.

The hotel is very beautiful. It is furnished with a very good taste. Dinner is fantastic. Staff is great! Location superb! The safari they offer is brilliant!

Staff couldn’t do enough for you, very unique setting, clean and comfortable room, right outside the national park with lots of wildlife, really good food, range of activities, surprise bbq for our honeymoon on the rocks, and a surprise local dance show!

Le lieu était en travaux, il avait l'air fermé et pas ouvert. J'avais choisi ce lieu pour la tonne d'avis positifs, l'expérience en elle même et le spectacle en revanche nous 'avons eu droit à rien de tout cela et au vu du prix c'est une double peine !! Impossible de discuter avec un responsable, cela ne dérange personne de vendre du rêve en photo et d'être à côté de la plaque dans la réalité.

Helemaal niks alles was fantastisch

Esperienza fantastica. Camera aperta con zanzariere attorno ai letti. Bellissimo il momento alla sera quando lo staff utilizza prodotti naturali per allontanare gli insetti (sembra una cerimonia!) e sistema le zanzariere per permettere agli ospiti di dormire in maniera confortevole. Personale davvero super: sono stati gentilissimi in ogni momento rendendo la permanenza molto bella. C'è una roccia vicino alle stanze dalla quale godersi alba e tramonto. Ristorante con cucina locale buono. Colazione molto abbondante e con ampia possibilità di scelta.

Aggiungerei al buffet del ristorante qualcosa di semplice e più internazionale per i bimbi. I bagni avrebbero bisogno di un po' di manutenzione in più essendo sottoposti ad usura dato che sono all'aperto.

The Yakadura Yala concept is a great idea when combined with a safari. It felt more like how you’d expect a safari experience to feel, rather than staying in a typical hotel resort complex. The staff were very helpful, the range of activities laid on very comprehensive and the fire dance was a great addition. Seeing sunset up on the rocks was also a nice way to end the day. We booked a full day safari with Yakadura which was really good and we saw a lot of different fauna and flora, including a number of leopards. The jeep has priority access in the morning which was ideal given that there was up to 250 other jeeps queuing at the entrance on the day. Plus Yakadura is close to the entrance making it very convenient for Yala.

The place has a lot going for it and it was a unique experience. However it comes at a cost and I’m not sure it’s great value for money compared to other places we stayed in Sri Lanka.

Un magnifique endroit, très proche de l'entrée du parc. N'hésitez pas, c'est encore largement plus beau en vrai que sur les photos. Le personnel est adorable et la nourriture très bonne. Ils organisent les safaris avec d'excellents chauffeurs et un coupe-fil pour entrer de manière prioritaire dans le parc. Bref, tout était parfait.

The safari was 10/10. We prearranged a full day safari and had the nicest most knowledgeable guide. We were able to skip the large general queue. Yakaduru arranged a welcome dance by local performers which was also very entertaining. The food was nice and the staff very welcoming. Great service, especially from Moorthy. The room was authentic and traditional.

Nothing to mention specially here. The bathroom being outside was different from other places we stayed which was an adjustment but understandably is apart of the accomodation.

Great place to stay for safaris at Yala. Food was great and staff were brilliant. Really enjoyed the cultural performances. The pool is small but lovely and refreshing. Stayed in the family room which is open to the elements but was totally fine for us. Would highly recommend.

Le safari est en revanche très décevant Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’animaux, pas d’éléphants, et le chauffeur n’a rien d’un guide. Bref si nous avions su nous aurions passé notre chemin.

Great stay. The staff are super lovely. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Due to the express entry for safari we were 5th in and saw leopards straight away. Room is nice and wasn’t too hot even without air con.

Het is een goed verzorgd ‘kamp’ met leuke zitjes en een heerlijk zwembadje ter verkoeling. Vooral ‘s avonds met alle lampjes aan is het heel sfeervol. Het eten was goed verzorgd, met voldoende keuze. Het personeel is zeer attent. De manager heeft veel kennis van en is erg betrokken bij de natuur en deelt die graag. Ook de safari die we boekten was top geregeld voor een prima prijs. Wow! Prachtige, grote, mooi ingerichte lodge in safaripark. Eigen zwembad was leuk, ook aangenamer dan groot zwembad. Leuke tour met veel weetjes over dieren en omgeving door medewerker. Lekker buffet.

Safari was erg duur i.v.m. safari’s aangeboden door andere organisaties. Chauffeur/gids safari viel dan ook nog eens tegen.

Het personeel was super vriendelijk en netjes. Ze kwamen vaak vragen of alles in orde was en of we iets nodig hadden. Dit werd dan ook gelijk voor ons geregeld. We hadden de tweede avond een barbecue avond geregeld. Alles werd voor ons klaargezet en het eten was heerlijk. In de avond werd er een muggen behandeling in het huisje gedaan, om zo hopelijk de muggen weg te jagen. Het is een hele ervaring om in zo'n huisje te slapen. Hier moet je je wel op voorbereiden. Je hoort 's nachts namelijk insecten en dieren. Als je dit leuk vind, zou ik dit verblijf zeker aanraden! We zijn met de manager/baas twee keer gaan wandelen en hij legt je alles uit over de dieren. Fantastisch om te zien hoeveel passie hij hiervoor heeft. Vanuit het verblijf hadden we een safari geregeld en ook dit was super. We mochten 's ochtends de rijen skippen, omdat het verblijf daar voor betaald. Dit was super fijn!

Super ervaring om in de vrije natuur en een open cottage te verblijven, nabij Yala NP. Ambiance is uniek. Personeel is geweldig. Ze legen je echt in de watten. Gratis bushwalk met guide was heel erg leuk. Aansluitend een High tea on the rock tijdens sunset was fantastisch.

We hadden een klein ongelukje, maar dit werd door de manager heel goed opgepakt en ruimhartig gecompenseerd.

Super leuke accommodatie als je naar Yala NP wilt. Het is daar heel dichtbij en de safari was super geregeld! De Moon Drive was ook heel leuk, we hebben veel gezien! Zo ook bij de Bush Walk! De gids wist ons heel veel te vertellen. Bij de BBQ avond kregen we ook meer dan voldoende lekker te eten. Elke avond wordt je huisje door het personeel ongedierte vrij gemaakt. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam! Zeker een aanrader! Leuke afwisseling in onze reis icm de safari.

El hotel es precioso, está a 10 minutos de la entrada del parque nacional de Yala. Está en medio de la jungla y está decorado con mucho gusto, nuestra habitación era una cabañita con piscina privada y era muy grande. Por la noche, antes de ir a dormir hacen un ritual para echar a los mosquitos quemando canela :) La comida está buena y es variada y para el desayuno puedes escoger entre 4 o 5 opciones, nosotros elegimos uno típico de Sri Lanka, había mucha cantidad y estaba todo muy bueno. El personal es muy amable, íbamos con nuestra hija de 7 años y en cada comida nos preguntaban si lo que habían preparado le iba bien o le hacían algo diferente para ella, son muy atentos. Contratamos el safari de todo el día con ellos y también muy bien.

Unser Aufenthalt im Yakaduru war etwas ganz Besonderes. Wer die Natur liebt und eine authentische Erfahrung sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön in die Natur eingebettet und bietet eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. Das Essen war hervorragend und das gesamte Team war unglaublich herzlich. Die Mitarbeitenden nehmen sich viel Zeit, um über die Natur, die Tierwelt und die Umgebung zu erzählen. Man merkt, mit wie viel Leidenschaft sie ihre Arbeit machen und wie wichtig es ihnen ist, dass sich ihre Gäste willkommen fühlen. Direkt am Abend unserer Ankunft haben wir die Moon Drive Safari gemacht – ein absolutes Highlight, das wir sehr empfehlen können. Wir haben bereits Affen, Elefanten, Rehe und Pfauen gesehen und waren zudem an einem wunderschönen Strand bei einem kleinen Fischerdorf. Auch der kostenlose Bush Walk (ca. eine Stunde) hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Dabei erfährt man unglaublich viel über die Pflanzen, Tiere und das Ökosystem. Diese Tour war für uns ein echtes Erlebnis. Unsere Hütte war riesig und sehr komfortabel. Da man mitten in der Natur übernachtet, kann sich auch einmal ein kleiner Frosch ins Badezimmer verirren – das gehört hier einfach dazu und macht den Charme des Ortes aus. Jeden Abend werden die Zimmer ausgeräuchert, damit möglichst keine Mücken ins Zimmer gelangen. Ein weiteres Highlight war die traditionelle Tanzvorführung von drei jungen Frauen am zweiten Abend. Zum Abschied haben unsere Kinder sogar noch ein wunderschönes Foto mit Rahmen geschenkt bekommen – eine unglaublich liebe Geste, über die wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team für diesen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt. Wir können das Yakaduru von Herzen weiterempfehlen!

Finalmente no pude alojarme en el Yakaduru porque los monos destrozaron el tejado de nuestra habitación, pero el personal estuvo pendiente de nosotros, nos buscó un alojamiento alternativo muy bueno (Yala Chalets, muy recomendable) y estuvo pendiente y preocupado de nosotros en todo momento. Muy bien.

Fantastische idyllische plek in de bufferzone tussen de bewoonde wereld en het yala park. Het is een klein paradijs midden in de natuur. Heel gastvrij en met veel kennis over de locale ecologie en biodiversiteit, daardoor krijg je een ander perspectief en is de ervaring alleen maar mooier! Eten is heerlijk en alles is perfect verzorgd.

The property is amazing. The food is perfect and there is huge portion for everyone. We also witnessed a traditional Sri Lanka dance. I have been able to do a morning walk in the bushes with Dhammika. They have also organized a smooth safari which was really pleasant because we didn’t have to do the queue for ticketing on the morning.

We would have loved to have a guide with a better English for the safari but we saw all the animals so really great.

Our stay at Yakaduru Safari Camp was simply unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for. The location is excellent, with Yala National Park just a 10–15 minute drive away. The camp arranged an outstanding safari for us, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Even though the park was busy, our guide always found quiet spots where we were completely alone. We were incredibly lucky to see an amazing variety of wildlife, including a leopard! It is clear that Yakaduru carefully selects its safari drivers, and we really appreciated their respect for nature and their eco-friendly approach. The entire property has been created with so much love and attention to detail. Everything is beautifully maintained, and our private pool villa was absolutely stunning—a peaceful oasis surrounded by nature. The food was exceptional. Every single meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and something we looked forward to each day. A special thank you to Hasitha, who took us on a fascinating jungle walk and shared so much knowledge about the local wildlife and nature. He also organized a wonderful traditional dance performance, giving us a beautiful insight into Sri Lankan culture. It was an unforgettable experience. What impressed us most, however, was the incredible staff. Every single person went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible. Their kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality made all the difference. Thank you to the entire Yakaduru team for creating such wonderful memories. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this magical place to anyone visiting Yala.

There was nothing that I didn’t like

Wat een fantastische ervaring! Het verblijf is prachtig. Alles was ontzettend schoon, ondanks de open daken van de hutjes. Elke avond zorgen ze ervoor dat eventuele muggen worden verwijderd. Op een paar kleine spinnetjes na zijn we verder geen ongedierte tegengekomen. Alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld. Het personeel was enorm vriendelijk, behulpzaam en stond altijd klaar om met alles te helpen. In het bijzonder willen we Moorthy bedanken. hij zorgde ervoor dat alles perfect geregeld was en deed er alles aan om ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Ook het eten was heerlijk en als extra verrassing kregen we zelfs een prachtige traditionele dansvoorstelling van twee geweldige dansers. Kortom we hebben een fantastische tijd gehad en zouden dit verblijf absoluut aanraden!

Een verblijf in Yakaduru is echt een belevenis op zich, we kunnen het alleen maar aanraden. Nisantha was een warme host die zijn liefde voor de natuur met veel gedrevenheid deelde met zijn gasten. Het eten was top, met Moorty als enthousiaste waiter. De avondvoorstelling van de traditionele dansers was de onverwachte kers op de taart.

There are few places in the world that get you this close and personal with nature and make you feel at once in the middle of everything wild, but also comfortable and cared for. The service is second to none; the food amazing and access to trips and local knowledge first rate. Highly recommend for those wanting to power down from the world in classy camping comfort.

Beautiful stay in Yala, our room was superb big and spacious very a beautiful with a unique touch, we really felt like we were in the jungle ! The staff were amazing they went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay, special mention to Moorthy who was so friendly and Nishantha who educated us about the property’s nature. All meals were included in our stay, giving us a taste of beautiful homemade Sri Lankan food. We even got to enjoy a traditional performance on our last night which was great !

We verbleven 2 nachten in Yala Yakadura. Bij aankomst denk je “waar zijn wij nu beland? In the middle of nowhere”. Maar werkelijk, deze ervaring was schitterend. We trokken al de helft van de wereld rond maar vonden dit één van de verblijven die ons het meest zal nablijven. De ontvangst was top, meteen kregen we een lunch, werd gevraagd wat we graag eten of drinken en zijn enorm begaan met het welzijn van onze dochter. De kamer was de familie bungalow, openlucht douche. Zeer mooie typische stijl. Uiteraard dien je de dieren erbij te nemen. Dit is even schrikken maar je raakt eraan gewend. Ze hebben een mooi zwembad die voor de nodige verkoeling zorgt. Alle uitstappen werden geregeld en wij deden de half day safari en high tea in the rock. Ervaringen om nooit te vergeten! De safari was goed geregeld en onze dochter kreeg nog een snackpakket mee en heel wat inbegrepen drankjes. We gaven aan dat we graag een schooltje wilden bezoeken, Nishantha nam ons mee in zijn Tuktuk om ons deze ervaring te geven. We kochten wel eerst wat schoolbenodigdheden, het was hem ook niet teveel om een omweg te maken en ons te helpen. Wat een ervaring… Zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner waren super. Moorthi legt je in de watten tot en met, niets is hem teveel! Boek dit verblijf, daar ben je één met de natuur, met het échte leven, sfeer. We zouden er meteen terugkeren. Bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid!

Amazing hotel. Staff were lovely. The food was great, especially breakfast. The room was so incredible - beautifully decorated, nice and cool, the most comfortable bed we had for the whole trip. They organised the safari for us and we saw so many animals including two leopards and so many elephants. Was such a memorable stay. Would recommend to friends and would love to fome back.

Unser Aufenthalt im Yakadura Yala Safari Camp war einfach fantastisch! Der Bungalow ist wunderschön und mitten in der Natur gelegen – ein echtes Naturerlebnis. Besonders das offene Badezimmer hat uns begeistert. Man sollte allerdings wissen, dass gelegentlich kleine Tiere wie Frösche zu Besuch kommen, was für uns aber absolut zum Erlebnis dazugehört. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker und das gesamte Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Ein großes Lob auch an die Safari-Guides: Sie waren sehr engagiert und haben alles gegeben, um uns eine unvergessliche Safari zu ermöglichen. Alles in allem war es ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, das wir jederzeit wiederholen würden. Absolute Empfehlung!

Das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben am Abend unserer Ankunft eine kostenlose Führung durch die Umgebung bekommen. Am Abend wurden die Zimmer noch ausgeräuchert und es waren Moskitonetze vorhanden. Das Zimmer war etwas gewöhnungbedürftig, da es etwas offener war und somit ab und zu kleine Tiere dort waren, das hat uns aber nicht weiter gestört. Insgesamt war es ein schönes Erlebnis und wir würden wieder kommen.

We stayed here with our 3 children. The experience is superb. We stayed in the family hut which is open air. The beds were tomorrow and we had no issues with mosquitos. The staff prepared the beds with intense before sleeping. The outdoor bathroom was nice and in nature. Lots of small animals to see in and around our room. There are many places in the compound to sit and chill. The food was exceptional and the shared dinner was great with entertainment. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing, delicious and so much food. There is a rock to climb up for great sunsets and sunrise. The staff were amazing. Answered endless questions from the children and were so friendly. The forest walk included in the booking was great. We would absolutely come back again.

This is not for everyone - there is no ac or hot water (not that you needed it). But we loved it. There is no signage on the way in, so make sure you have your map. The only thing we would change is if staying with children (younger) there could be some consideration for child friendly food. Ours didn't really eat much of the food, and they are use to living in Asia and are not picky.

Un hotel muy original, con una decoración y un ambiente que hacen que parezca que estás viviendo una auténtica aventura. La experiencia ha sido diferente y muy agradable. Además, todo el personal fue muy atento, amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. No tenemos ninguna queja; sin duda, volveríamos a alojarnos aquí.

Menzione speciale per la guida del nostro Safari Dahmmika e il driver Buddika, chiedete di loro!! Bellissimi anche gli spettacoli di danze tradizionali tenuti prima, durante e dopo la cena da parte di tre giovani ballerine, meravigliosi!

We had an unforgettable stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location is perfect if you’re visiting Yala National Park and want to stay surrounded by nature. The full-board meals were absolutely delicious, with generous portions and a great variety throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality. Every member of the staff was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. They always greeted us with a smile, shared plenty of laughs with us, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The safari was unforgettable and one of the best experiences of our trip. Seeing wildlife in its natural habitat was a dream come true. As a lovely finishing touch, the staff surprised us with a thoughtful farewell gift, which was such a kind gesture and made our day. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the heart of the wild. We would definitely love to come back one day. 🤍

The experience was unreal!

There’s nothing I didn’t like I just think you need to know that you’re pretty much in the outdoors. Also some friendly advice.. the bbq night isn’t for everybody it’s per your party. We tried it one night the food was great but we were away from everyone else on our own. Maybe the advertising for it is a bit misleading.

Absolutely incredible!!! Do yourself a favour and stay here. Everything about the accommodation was sensational. Eco stays always get a huge thumbs up from us, the attention to details were just brilliant. Such a beautiful space, it really did feel like you were in the middle of the wild. The lighting, the food, the safari… Everything was perfect!

You should be aware that there is no AC or refrigerator. The rooms aren’t sealed so if you are expecting this you will be disappointed If you enjoy this then you will have a thoroughly enjoyable stay

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and made us feel safe at the accommodation. In the evening we had amazing entertainment by Yakadura Dance Group, they did an amazing performance of local dances. The safari tour we booked and the expertise of the guide were excellent. We couldn't be more happy about booking this accommodation. Thank you so much !

Yakaduru is such a special place. The camp, staff and food are all 5*. The camp is in such a beautiful setting, surrounded by nature. The camp is lit up at night by hanging lanterns and there are hanging seats where you can relax. The evenings were filled with delicious food options and the staff had even arranged for a traditional dance to be performed before and after dinner. The Yakaduru dancers were incredible! The room is stunning and the bathroom is large with a beautiful, open shower. The staff go above and beyond to make the whole experience impeccable, you could not ask for more. They even prepare your room at night to prevent mosquitos. The pool is small but idyllic and there are a selection of sunbeds and hammocks to relax in. The team are so professional and arranged the safari perfectly. We were the 1st to enter Yala national park which is only a short distance away. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely nothing this place has been the highlight of our trip.

We simply had the most wonderful time at Yakaduru, the staff is amazing and the food we had was absolutely delicious - we loved the rooms, they gave you a proper safari feeling while still very comfortable and their pool was perfect for a little dip after the days adventures! I especially want to highlight their safari team, our driver and spotter were both absolutely amazing at knowing how to locate the animals (from knowing local bird warning calls to the more popular haunts of some of the leopards) and we had a brilliant encounter with so much wildlife, three leopards included!

There was nothing that we enjoyed during our stay.

We didn’t like the service provided by the staff. The staff was extremely rude and very impolite in terms with communication and service. Because of them, we had to really find a last minute hotel just for the sake of staying, as we didn’t have options and had to live in conditions that weren’t suitable. As we had decided not to proceed with the booking of the safari through them, they purposely cancelled our booking with them. Firstly, they had asked us to cancel the booking through booking.com and told us to book through them directly as they would provide the same rate, but we chose not to do that. While we were on our way to the hotel, they cancelled our booking. This happened 3 hours before our actual check-in time. They had deceived us under the pretext of “emergency” occurrence while they still had rooms available to book. We had to struggle till the very last minute to find an alternative as most of the places around were booked in advance. The staff knew what they did and were very cunning and irrational with the way they handled our booking. To anyone booking with Yakaduru-Yala, we highly recommend to save yourself the time, effort and money as they look to make money off You by booking you for a safari for a much higher price without your knowledge.

it was such a cool unique experience and staff were amazing, food was delicious and location for safari was great and lovely views on top of the rock, nishantha took me and my sister for a walk around the property and had a lot of very interesting facts and knowledge about the wildlife it was great!

Amazing friendly and helpful staff. We were particularly impressed by the attentiveness of Morethei in the restaurant and Nisha (abbreviated name - apologies!) with his abundant knowledge and passion for nature and conservation in Yala National Park. The resort was very clean but at one with nature. It was as described in the booking details and the standard of accommodation reflected this. The full board food was outstanding. There is an amazing chef working behind the scenes. We would love to come back one day!

There was enough electricity to charge phones but not sufficient for a hairdryer. This isn't so important in such a unique environment. Being at one with nature does mean the odd visitor in the room, which made the experience even more exciting. It's not every day you experience a frog leaping out of the toilet pan! We made some fabulous memories during our stay!

We had an amazing stay at Yakaduru Yala. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the food was consistently delicious. The activities were also fantastic, I would highly recommend both the bush walk and booking the safari through the lodge. The safari was a real highlight of our trip. We were lucky enough to see leopards, elephants, and crocodiles, making for an unforgettable experience. The team also paid great attention to the little details that made our stay extra comfortable. Each evening they burned incense in the room to help keep mosquitoes away, which was a thoughtful touch. The entire property had a wonderful atmosphere and a really relaxing, authentic vibe. Overall, I would highly recommend Yakaduru Yala to anyone visiting the area. We had a fantastic experience and would happily stay again.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

We loved everything at Yala Yakadaru especially all the amazing staff, who are all so friendly. This was a truly amazing experience immersed in nature. Such a peaceful location amongst the flora and fauna of Sri Lanka.Nisantha was a fantastic host with an enormous amount of knowledge of the wildlife, birds and fauna of the area, which made our stay a wonderful way to learn about the natural world. Dammika was our safari guide who with the help of the driver ensured our half day safari will be a lifelong memory, saw elephants with their babies, bear, deer, buffaloes, crocodiles, and so many beautiful birds. Also Moorhy( I hope I’ve spelt that correctly) was a gem in the kitchen, always friendly and happy.

Amazing place and great people taking care of us!

Excellent staff, taking care of us all time. Very respectful people working at the safari camp. We enjoyed the full day safari, visit to temples, etc. The food was great and the service even better. Lovely place, highly recommended for those outdoor lovers
