Food was great, very kind and generous host, felt very at home, relaxed, and safe.
Air conditioning would have been very helpful during the heat wave, but the fans did help enough to sleep through the heat at night!
perfect location for entry to the park, staff were welcoming and very helpful, good food selection on menu, safaris were all arranged for me
We booked for one or two nights and decided to stay for 5 days.. it was the best decision ever. Was truly very needed and such an magical place to rest and enjoy at. The hut was very comfy. The garden was spacious. We where swimming in the river infront of the guesthouse everyday. The family who run the place is very sweet. Thank you for everything.
Namaste Bardia Resort- along with at least 7 other "resorts"- is a short walk along the road running south of the National Park entrance. The property has a lot of open space, with cottages set well back from the road and the restaurant. It is a quiet rural area comprised largely of other "resorts" and small farms. Krishna and Kamila (the managers) and their staff (Ram and Ranju) are pleasant and friendly. Like any of the low-cost accommodation in Thakudwara, my room was spartan and basic, but very spacious and plenty comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The included "Genius" breakfast was very good, and there is a variety of decent food for lunch and dinner...although you can easily get the much cheaper, standard Nepali fare in Thakudwara. Free (or very cheap) bike rental provides a good way to explore the surrounding area, although the bikes are old and a lot of the roads are rocky...expect your knees and buttocks to cop a pounding!
I have no complaints whatsoever about the accommodation. However, I strongly suggest you shop around for guided tours. Unfortunately I hastily took a Dalla Community Forest guided tour with the resort. It consisted of a short motorcycle ride to and from a viewpoint located 200-300m from a bend in the river. You then wait quietly all day, hoping for animals to approach the river. My guide told me that the community receives Rs300-400 and he receives Rs200 per day (another guide told me the community receives Rs500, and that guides usually get about Rs700 per day). A packed lunch, snacks and water is provided. So, based on the figures provided by the guides, the actual cost for the tour operator is somewhere in the range of Rs800-1,500 Therefore, the tour price of Rs8,000 is utterly unjustifiable...in fact, I think "rip-off" is a fair description! TIPS: it is possible to enter the community forest independently and free of charge. However, there is a caveat: tigers are often seen in the forest, and both elephant and rhino are also occasionally present, so walking or cycling within the forest comes with a heightened risk, especially if you are alone. If you want a well regarded, highly experienced guide for any forest or jungle tour, I highly recommend you enquire with Hukum (owner of Jungle Base Camp). Most of his tours are significantly cheaper than his competitors, without compromising on knowledge and experience (refer to my review of Jungle Base Camp).
Namaste Bardyia is located perfectly outside Bardyia National Park. We enjoyed all the food that was prepared from breakfast to dinner. Krishna took us on a jungle walk for half day and he took me to the community forest on motor bike. We didn't see any tigers but got to see a rhino and baby, deer and lots of birds.
De ruime kamer ,vriendelijk personeel
A truly memorable stay at Namaste Bardiya Resort. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so welcoming, warm and genuinely caring, it felt more like visiting friends than being tourists. Although Krishna was away during our stay, he and his wife organised everything perfectly and went above and beyond to tailor the best possible plan for us, especially to maximise our chances of seeing tigers and it worked, we were lucky enough to see two tigers. Our safari guide Deep was outstanding, incredibly knowledgeable about the park and clearly passionate about wildlife, which made the experience even more special. Spending one night in the tree house was also a highlight and something we’ll never forget. The people here are truly authentic and beautiful, and their kindness really stays with you. We wish the whole team all the very best and highly recommend staying here.

Namaste Bardya Resort is a familiar, welcoming place where to spend some nights close to the jungle. Kamala, Ram, his sister warmed our hearts, and Krishna made us feel welcomed even from distance, since he was not there during our staying. Sharing stories at night with the very expert guide (also called Krishna) made our experience in the jungle more meaningful. Also the food was so good, I’d eat their banana pancakes and chilly chicken today if I could! Thank you very much for making our days so beautiful.
spacious room nice setting in green garden friendly staff tasty food
Tutto perfetto. Ottima ospitalità e cibo molto buono.
A beautiful property and lovely guest house very close to the bardiya national park entrance. The Cabins are big and cozy, each one quite far from the other so you get a lot of privacy and all around there are only trees and grass. It feels like really living in nature and not in a resort. The common dinning area is very nice, facing a beautiful river, and the food is good. Krishna and his wife are great hosts and they offer a lot of options to experience the park. Overall, a really amazing value-for-money place in bardiya
Sehr freundliche Leute, unglaublich Hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Augenblick wohl. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker und riesen Portionen. Krishana der Besitzer ist ein ausgezeichneter Guide.. Tolle Touren... Der Preis für die Bungalow ist unschlagbar. Einfach mit Van, Tip Top sauber... Nur zu Empfehlen.....
The property was amazing! So much open space, very calm and tranquil.
Very friendly and helpful host and family, cozy lodges & close to the National Park entrance Probably the best Dal Bhat we had!
Shower is a bit weird, one showerhead produced cold, the other almost boiling water. If you mix them in the bucket, it won't be a problem!
The owner is a very experienced safari guide. On the jungle walk and jeep safari he offers I was able to see wild rhinos, elephants and even a tiger. He is also very helpful (gave good recommendations, helped book the bus back to Kathmandu...). Food, especially fried rice with omelette for the jungle walks, is just amazing. Can only recommend.
Great place near the river, quiet, beautiful nature. Tasty food and Krishna helped me a lot to organize all kind of things. Bardia is still with little tourism, amazing wildlife and traditional villages straight out of the Jungle Book movie . I went by bicycle and many people greet you.
Nothing
If you want to see animals this is the right spot, Krishna is a very knowledgeable guide and a great host, the hotel is clean and nice, Kamala is very kind and her food is amazing. Definitely recommended, I loved my time here and I ended up staying even more nights!
The experience in Bardia was great thanks to the staff on Namaste Bardiya Resort. The activities they proposed are perfect: we did jungle walks and Jeep safari and slept in the tree house. Every activity was different and I would totally reccomend them all: the jungle walk is to feel more connected to the nature, with the jeep safari is possible to cover more ground and rush to see the animals when they are spotted somewhere in the park and the tree house is a wonderful experience to sleep in the jungle. We saw a lot of animals including the big ones: a tiger, a herd of elephants and multiple rhinos. This was possible thanks to the knowledge of our guide (also our host) Krishna. The resort is very nice and confortable, Krishna's family super nice and the rest of the staff too. The food is always cooked fresh and delicious. Plus, the place is very close to the entrance of the park and right in front of the river (where we were swimming to chill a bit) so sometimes is possible to spot animals even from the resort (even inside, deers crossed the property and even a monkey was sitting on our room porch). The rooms are simple with everything you need.
I definetly have nothing to complain about
Relaxing environment set by the river you can swim in
Beautiful place and great location 👍🏼You get your own nice bungalow in the garden where deer are coming sometimes. The price was good, so my few days turned into 2 weeks. The restaurant has a view of the river, and the food isn’t too overpriced (except for the coffee and tea). The family was polite and helpful.
However, some guests were offered a 2nd jungle walk for free (if they didn’t spot animals on the first safari) or were invited to join another tour altogether, while others weren’t. I guess it depends on whether the host likes you or not. Also, the place isn’t very social. Some guests don’t even bother to reply to a “good morning.” 🙄 So if you want to be treated the same way as others or are looking for a more social vibe, there are other places with a better vibe.
From the first minute I felt very welcome. The host Krishna helped me organize a tuk tuk from Ambasa village to him. I got a very nice and cozy bungalow. I really enjoyed the sunsets from my terrace. Krishna's wife and his team cooked delicious food and served me milk tea daily ;) This place offers you a paradise, quiet, surrounded by nature. You can go to Bardiya National Park with Krishna, he is an excellent guide and will do his best to see rhinos, elephants or even a tiger. I highly recommend this place for a longer stay. I was there for two weeks :) ❤️
the family is super helpful, friendly and easy going :) the food on the menu is very tasty. the houses are spacious, cozy and warm, with a great bed and bathroom. i felt at home immediately. the houses offer a lot of privacy on the big piece of land. the village is only a 15 min walk away and it is possible to see elephants nearby. thanks a lot for this welcoming stay!
Excellent food, peaceful location right on the border of the National Park. Friendly, family-run resort.
Everything. Lovely secluded huts surrounded by jungle, across the road from a river and a short stroll to town and the jungle. The manager Krishna was very helpful and a guide through the park. His family were very friendly and his wife cooks delicious food that is well priced.
The owner and his family were incredibly nice and helpful. I am deeply grateful to the family for making my trip truly wonderful, giving me tours around the area and managing everything for me. I would love to see you again!
It was great, my original plan was to stay 3 nights and I like it so much I stayed 7. The owner Krishna and his family, helps me with everything I needed, if it’s information, food, laundry and more. And Krishna was my guide, he knows the park so well we saw tiger almost everyday thanks to him. The room is big and clean. Highly recommended
Nothing it was perfect
The rooms were spacious, clean and peaceful. The staffs were also very friendly and supportive especially the owner. If they add more items into their food menu, it would be perfect. This place is value for money.
I love the family everything is great I recommend this place because we are like their own family Thank you for everything Krishna I recommend the jungle walk It was a great experience finding wild animals
Here, you can connect yourself with Wild life (Nature) . Peaceful location far from city life but with all the required facilities like wifi, hot water, veg -Non veg, Alcohol on demand. Everything, fish, duck meat. Staff is very cooperative, higine food,

Very beautiful place near the river and the entry of the national park. The owners and the staff are really pleasant, I took the jungle tour with them, very beautiful day and we’ve seen lot of animals. Thank you Namaste Bardiya for this beautiful stay.
The location is near to boundaries of Bardiya national park. Beautiful view from roof top ( balcony) and there is lot of open areas and greenery within this property. The krishna and Kamala always there is to help you. Food was so delicious, I enjoyed this place coz homely and friendly environment.
Great!!!
Krishna and his wife and the other staff were very nice with me. Good guide and very good food. It was very nice days

This new hotel is a place you shouldn't miss! the price is unbelievably cheap! and the location, especially if you are a birdwatcher, is the best! It is across the river, with very beautiful area and well-designed cottages. You can stay there forever and chill! The staff are very friendly and the owner, Krishna, who is young but experienced guide provides you anything you need.
The only thing which wasn't easy for me, was the shower with separate cold and hot water taps faucets. But during the day it is really hot and you don't need that much hot water.
Very friendly staff, good food, hot shower and cold beer in the evening made our stay great. We also did two jungle walking Safaris with the owner. He Show us animals we could have never seen without him. He's a guide for 22 years. One last thing: almost every third day the elephant comes to the river! You can watch him from their Terrace easily
No complains
The place was great, very nice very clean. And so peacefull !
Well placed guesthouse with simple but nice bungalows in the traditional house style. Attached bathroom with hot water 24 hours. Rooms are basic but nice and very good price for what you get. The restaurant is well placed with river view and great food. Krishna the owner organise everything well and we had a great jungle safari.
Had a short but very pleasant stay, thanks to the friendly and helpful owner Krishna, as well as the personel. There's a variety of food options available at the restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and overall I'd say you get value for money. I also arranged an enjoyable walking safari with Krishna, though I didn't get lucky with the wildlife. Better luck during my next visit!
Lovely authentic and green place with cottages. The houses are spacious and clean. Can't wish for a more friendly and helpful staff! The host Krishna helped us with anything we wanted, from the excursions, visiting a treehouse, the park and having up to date information about the buses. The balcony of the main building has a beautiful view on the park and river. From here you can enjoy the nature, spot the elephants, monkeys and crocodiles. Moreover, the freshly cooked breakfasts and dinner were a delight, which made it a very relaxing stay.
