Lake Naverone Holiday Cottages

The lake was awsome. There is plenty of things to do around the lake. Very beautiful and peaceful.

It was a beautiful getaway. The scenery was spectacular, views of the snow covered mountains across an amazing lake. There wasn’t much cell reception which allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - helps to detox from digital life and find the fun you used to have as kids. The facilities are great and inexpensive, to keep you occupied during your stay.

Absolutely Beautiful! All round 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back.

Everything was wonderful...from the beautiful cottage, the quiet scenery, the comfy rooms and the super friendly staff to the absolute relaxation in the middle of the Drakensberg.

Had to pay extra for lake view chalet - booking.com did not indicate this when i booked No electric blankets Old, outdated showers and toilet. Showerhead was small and water flow was minimal Hot water in the kitchen tap not readily available, i had to run the tap for over 5 minutes before it came through. Scanty information about hiking in the area

The units are as seen in pictures. The place is also as seen in picture. The lake view was amazing even though our unit was behind another unit. Walks to the lake and around were theurapitic

It wasn't really the fascility issue but rather area issue. Nearby placea with restaurants closed early or didnt take day visitors

I loved the lake view, my husband is in a wheelchair and he was able to move around freely on the unit. We loved the fireplace and we absolutely loved Cynthia she was so friendly

Loved the cottage, location was perfection, check in (late arrival) and out was easy and smooth Cottages were clean and serviced daily, with fresh wood supplied, including kindling laid in the fireplace And the LOCATION......oh my hat!!! Was definitely an excellent tick to my bucket list

Would have liked a shower in the en suite, but that is minor issue And was surprised there was no coffee station, but also no biggie, as we had been traveling and luckily had our own

Liked the fact that the accommodation was not on top of each other, giving you more privacy and peace

Layout of the chalet was beautiful, the fire place created such a nice atmosphere and keep the whole place so lovely and cosy. It was so peaceful and relaxing, taking the row boat out on the lake allowed for some amazing photos of the area and lovely views of the mountains.

the gas geyser behind the toilet door was a bit in the way but not a major issue

The sceneric views were outstanding, breath taking, picture perfect. Accommodation was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped.

No TV Heater in room was not very effective

We loved our stay in the peaceful surroundings and cosy cottage.

The horse riding and direct access to the lake and fishing. The cottage had a view of the birds nesting on the tree. The staff and management were very friendly and accommodating. The coal stove was such a fun experience

The fire place. It is a bit older and left a lot of smoke..

Being on the edge of water is amazing and being afforded morning sun were winners for me!

The only negative is hearing vehicles going to-and-from Drak Gardens but it is definitely not a dealbreaker.

From the time you arrive you are welcomed and informed by the host about everything to do and expect at Lake Naverone. The place is Stunningly beautiful we were truly blessed spending time at the Lake.

De locatie is prachtig! Heel bijzonder. Ook de faciliteiten op het park zijn goed.

Ons huisje was sterk verouderd. Stoelen met kapotte poten, licht dat het niet doet, toilet liep niet door, sterk verouderde bedden etc. Zo jammer dat het niet wordt onderhouden, want de plek is magisch.

I absolutely loved the romantic feel to the place, with the stunning views and row boat onto lake.

I'm used to self catering with at least still some tea and coffee available. Reccomendation always let the staff clean the rooms as die to it being close to the lake we had a few critters visit.

Perfect facility for a family vacation. All the expected amenities were provided. Great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

That we couldn't stay longer!!

The cottage was cosy and inviting. The scenery was beautiful. Our kids enjoyed the pony rides and swimming in the lake.

My husband loves fishing but unfortunately didn't catch any fish during our stay. We were told the fish are deep down in the lake.

💎My hidden gem💎 It was truly a place that made my heart feel clean and peaceful. Most guests seemed to arrive by car, but I traveled from Pietermaritzburg to Underberg by shared minibus, then did some shopping in Underberg before taking a taxi to the accommodation (around R300). If you don’t have a car, I recommend asking a taxi driver for their contact details and arranging a pick-up for your return. During my stay, I enjoyed trekking, sitting quietly by the lake, and walking around it every morning — it became my daily routine. This has become one of my favorite places, and I would absolutely love to come back again. The dogs were also incredibly cute 🐶 とにかく心が綺麗になる滞在先でした。 ほとんどの宿泊者は車で行くようでしたが、私はPietermaritzburgからUnderbergまでシェアミニバスを使い、 その後Underbergでお買い物をしてからタクシーを使いました。R300でした。 もし車を持っていない人はタクシー運転手の連絡先を聞き帰りにPickしてもらうといいと思います。 トレッキング、湖でただぼーっとしたり、湖を一周するのは毎朝の日課でした。 絶対に戻って来たい私のお気に入りの場所になりました！ 犬たちもかわいいです🐶

this was ohne of the best Places in 8 weeks in south africa!we only regret that we stayed for 2 days and not longer.the cottages are cozy and comfortable and far enough from each other to guarantee privacy.fantastic walks around the lakes and along the river,you dont get tired of the amazing landscape!we loved it!

It's a serene place, very quiet. The view was like from the movies. Overlooking the lake and mountains, plus a few waterfalls could be seen from my cottage.

The host was wonderfully warm and friendly, and the setting is beautiful with excellent access to walks. The cottage is well-appointed with plenty of space. Bed linen was crisply clean though the blankets could have been fresher.

The shower was unable to be regulated so was a hectic experience.

Beat value for money in January. Facilities and sorrounding are exceptional. You have everything you need for sled catering

It was only scenic

There were major safety concerns. It wasn’t access controlled and owners wasn’t taking any responsibility of any loss to the guests. It was advertised free WiFi; however, the WiFi was only available at the reception area and there was no WiFi in the cottage where we stay. My husband struggled a lot. Network was also very weak and one should bring the satellite phone even for emergency. There was no electricity on the passages and it was scary dark in the night.

Lake Naverone is absolutely beautiful. Nestled amongst the mountains with dams and rivers all around. We loved our time there and will be back

Pretty views, loved the local friendly geese. Lots of things to do like paddle-boarding on the lake. Helpful staff which were quick to respond to any queries. We did river tubing in the area which was great fun.

There aren't duvets on the beds, which we all found strange and uncomfortable. It gets cold at night. Granted they provide a sheet and a few blankets. However, the blankets move during the night and the sheets feel insufficient - it feels like a makeshift bed arrangement. Considering how happy we were with every other aspect of our stay, it is rather odd they overlook proper bedding.

I was well kept and the lake is so beautiful.

The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, situated among trees and close to the lake. The bird life was exceptional, making our time there very relaxing. I particularly enjoyed the covered verandah with its good-quality furniture and braai.

Family from Europe were blown away by the view from our cottage and the facilities.
