Very peaceful place, the location is great, in the middle of the city, the hotel staff are welcoming and friendly. The roof top is amazing. Very simple facilities, comfy and nice
Il loculo in legno si trova al secondo piano bagno e doccia al pian terreno. Ventilatore sporchissimo e letto molto scomodo mancavano un po' di doghe. Nessuno conosce il posto ed è molto difficile trovarlo. C'è molto di meglio
Fun on the roof with lots of freinds
Hanging on the roof is great
The location is ideal. The cabin was correct, quiet, and comfortable. Overall, the accommodation itself was fine.
On the second day, I wanted to extend my stay. A staff member directed me to El Haity, the rooftop manager, saying that it was better not to book through Booking because prices there were higher. However, when I met the manager, he offered me a price higher than the one shown on Booking. I immediately showed him the price displayed on the app. At that moment, he used his phone and the price suddenly increased. I paid for the night, but a few minutes later I checked Booking again and saw that the price had returned to its original amount. That is when I realized I had been forced to pay a price set by him. After this experience, I decided not to deal with him anymore. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was very poor and almost unusable. Advice: In Egypt, I strongly recommend booking only through Booking and avoiding direct price negotiations with hosts.
If you are considering staying at this hotel, I strongly recommend reading my review first. I am a traveler who has been traveling the world for the past 2 years and has many hostel experiences. I made a reservation for this place through Booking, and afterward I received a message via WhatsApp. I assumed the person was the owner of the hotel. (Later I learned that yes, he actually is the owner.) I wanted to stay in a capsule, not in a hostel, because I was feeling a bit sick. Imagine this: you are in a foreign country and you get sick… Anyway, that was my own situation. That’s why I wanted to reserve a better and more suitable place for myself. I explained this situation clearly to the person who contacted me. In response, he sent me the messages that I also attached in the photos. I had been in Egypt for 27 days, so I had already started to understand people a bit. He was a complete money-hunter, a typical hotel owner from a touristic area. But let me tell you this, boss: life is not all about money. You may have millions, but in the end, the place you are going is under the ground. I want to tell you clearly that this behavior of yours is not right. Sometimes helping people is a good thing—don’t be afraid, help them. That goodness will return to you one day in a different way; maybe not as money, but definitely as something. Anyway… This person told me, “Come, we’ll see what we can do,” and directed me there. Normally, I wouldn’t have gone after such an answer, but unfortunately I had internet problems during my night journey. So I ended up going to the location of the hotel I had reserved. There was an employee named JOE. Honestly, I strongly recommend that women be very careful if they come here. Just because people come to a holiday area does not mean they are open to sex. What kind of mentality is this? Anyway, this employee showed me the rooms. When I saw the condition of the room, I asked, “How many people stay here, and who stays here?

like the pool
1. they will charge me for a doorlock. even they are able to provide but they don't, because if they do they'll lose 50 pound. 2. they charge me for the wifi. 3. bad wifi, very unstable 4. no converter to borrow
It is really close to the center and it felt really safe to be around. The workers are also welcoming and really nice. I really enjoyed my time here. Definitely will come back again!!
Volunteer opportunity! 🤩 Beautiful city for staying a couple of weeks, I was giving some Spanish and English classes as a volunteer for the accomodations in the hostel. A lot of free time during the day, classes normally at afternoon/night.
Bad internet connection 🥲
The staff were lovely and very accommodating, the pool was wonderful to cool off after a big day in the sun. things are always being cleaned and we felt very welcomed there! will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone heading to dahab! there’s also an opportunity to volunteer to stay for free, which is a very cool experience and great for budget travellers!
A super relaxed vibe. The communal area by the pool and the pool itself is perfect space to chill and cool down! All of the staff were so friendly, everyone made us feel so comfortable. We were also able to stay at the property in exchange for English lessons. The rooms were small and would get hot during the day being on the rooftop but it was honestly perfect for us as we were out all day completing a dive course. There are other opportunities to volunteer here for accomodation such as maintenance and/or housekeeping. But the language lessons were such a great experience & I loved getting to know our students.
The level of cleanliness is good and the level of safety also helps meet my needs and a privileged location close to the local market, close to the parking lot, close to the sea and diving centers, and also close to Al-Fanar Street, one of the most famous streets in Dahab.
To change the sheets, he asks for money, and if you want to lock the room, he asks to buy a lock 🛅.
the small boxes that include a bed are somehow cute, also the oversupply of sockets was nice. take a lock and keyes with you if you want to secure your belongings.
no communal space to sit and chat with others, not a single lightbulb outside at night, the toilet is 2 floors down and the wind makes the door of the small boxes just constantly slam into the other rooms, so no chilling inside the box during the day. at night it is really cold (febuary). contact to other guests was difficult because of the lack of an open communal space. the thing has potential, but its just not finished yet. it felt like i was in the middle of building the place - but i paid for a proper camp.
The place was quite and the location was great and it was clean room and place , Few seconds to the beach and the walking area and the staff was friendly and helpful specialy MR. Ahmed he is very very nice and very helpful and it won’t be the last .
I disnt like anything Every thing was amazing
Nice little sleeping pod at on the roof, only thing is because I went through booking.com I paid more than others who got a bigger pod so remember this when going through a third party, this is no fault of the place though and the owner actually gave me a free night to stay! After I messed up the booking dates 😂 Very nice, attentive staff Pool was a little dirty so I didn't go in sadly but I'm sure it's cleaner in the summer, overall cleanliness was very good everywhere else Overall very good experience just sad it's very quiet in Egypt at the moment
Couple things mentioned above, overall very good
The manager is a nice person. His communication is very good and he helps a lot with reservations. He is the a very reliable person I know. Thanks to all the team.
I was given a wooden cabin in the rooftop of a hotel. The cleanliness and the facilities were excellent, with comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful, facilitating me to extend for one night. Great location.
A bit tricky to find
Without Ahmed's kindness, helpful and reception, there is no charlie It’s a simple place, calm and perfect location 🫶🏻
Close to the center Staff isn’t bad
They give you a different room and tell you that this is the one you booked and to upgrade you will need to pay more The rooms are extremely hot to the point that you will not be able to sleep even if you have the fan focused on you No room locks and you will have to buy a lock yourself No garbage bins in the rooms
it is a cool place and value for money
The staff is very friendly and helpful. the location is great just a few steps from all that you need. Nice atmosphere for family and making new friends.
Simplicity was good and expected
Location
Some Noise outside
I liked the location and the staff, they were so friendly beside it's a good value for the price
The room wasn't clean, and I had to buy a lock for the room
the property was in a very nice location, staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Below average
It’s super old and not taken care of.
The most adorable people ever. Can't ask for more fruitful stay that how languages exchange activity is always available.. learning and teaching new languages gives advantages for your stay and room upgrades. Just go there it's literally a house of well-being.
Sometimes the staff/volunteers were very helpful. Rooms with bathroom good value. Wonderful party one night! Lovely connections made: friends for life.
Noisy. Male staff/volunteers' conversation not always appropriate. Some rubbish around the place. Bathroom sometimes not cleaned. Too much weed being smoked - especially by some volunteers/staff. Not good enough English spoken by some staff members.
Insanely beautiful place, friendly and very cool staff, amazing vibes and exceptional host. I've traveled quite a lot, and been to many places but none have exceeded my expectations quite like this. The host is passionate about creating environments that facilitate cultural and language exchange, and I found it amazing that that they offer people who speak Spanish free accomodation in exchange for a few hours of teaching a day. 10/10, will definitely be back.
The atmosphere, the location, the beautiful paintings in the walls. Very valuable for money. You feel you are in a tiny village, everyone has its own protected space - I felt my room was a tiny house- and beautiful meetings happen in the common areas. There is a Spanish week every year I was pretty happy to participate as a "teacher" Staff is available and happy to help you when needed. Thanks HASSAN! :D
Shared bathrooms weren't clean at all, and the showers at the girls bathroom had little water.
the staff were very nice
the horrible little owner who tried to scare and intimidate me out of money. His tactic is that don’t pay a night on time so he can fine you $30 for breaking his rule. This is a very big problem he told me over and over. This was all via WhatsApp, as he was too cowardly to show his face. be careful. I had to leave my windsurfing lesson and check out as I didn’t want to deal with the hassle he was going to cause.
cheap
cheap
the location was in the middle of the Main Street and near to the sea around 10 mins walking and they have hot water in the shower
dirty, nasty, rude receptionist always high and drunk almost all the day
The staff was friendly and helpful, the location is absolutely special
The bed mattress, pillow and sheet weren't clean when i checked in
Good place to stay. With really nice staff and always nice people to talk to.
Could be bit cleaner. But hard to complain for the cheap price.
The staff Hassan is welcoming and fun, in the heart of everything (top location), , very friendly and comfortable, they have a small gym too
It could be cleaner, but for the price , im happy and satisfied
Location
Cockroaches and mouse in our room. Terrible experience even for the low price. I had to get more expensive room as the one that I booked was terrible. On Booking it looks much more comfy
Wonderful and very welcoming hosts. They were always available and helpful. Everyone was extremely friendly and gave us great advice. We will miss you Eity, Hassan, Bassam and Romy!
It's not very luxurious but I can't complain as it was VERY cheap. The prices always change so it is possible to get a really good deal depending on the booking time. The staff is very friendly and I liked to spend some time talking to them. There is as well an option to stay for free if participating in a language exchange program. I was not long enough in Dahab to do so but if you are interested just ask for it! Maybe there are other volunteer options as well :)
Absolutely nothing
The place is just minging. Beds were uncomfortable and bed linen don’t seem to be washed. bathrooms were disgusting. I didn’t feel safe. No atmosphere at all. I’m glad I arrived late and only stayed for one night.
the price and the location
not clean they should take care of it more but because the price very good they don’t care
Cheap, own room with a fan, right on main street, close to beach.
With very little effort and investment it could easily be a super cool place. Guests used to low budget travel will se it as "local" charm while others will find something to complain about
Dirtiest place in the world This room is full of reptiles The bathroom are so dirty
Great value for price. Place is suitable for backpackers and budget travelers. The staff was friendly as always and the community was so fun. The camp has improved so much than my last stay adding more clean and budget friendly rooms.
Terrible room and service, I do not recommend to stay
Kind people, perfect location close to a local shops and cafes. Thank You Charlie House el Mashraba!
It was has expected, something could be better but it's hard to complain about anything with how little you pay for a private room.
The room didn't have anything except 2 beds and a fan , i requested to get a small table or a chair or anything just to put my backpack on because the floor wasn't clean and there wasn't even a carpet, the manager was communicating with me on whatsapp and told me that they will get a table for me but nothing happend and i don't like to ask twice also no one from the management was there the place was so empty most of the times , i understand it's a low budget camp but i was expecting at least the basics will be there.
Nice atmosphere, easy to meet people.
I have traveled a lot in budget accommodations and this is one of the dirtiest places I have been: - no tiles on the floor and a layer of sand from several weeks + some left over trash from previous guests (bottles, plastic wrappings...) - bed sheets were dirty and full of sand (they changed them when I asked) - the shared bathroom was the worst, all disgusting and clogging, my feet were submerged in dirty water
Good location and nice people
The room and the bathrooms not cleaned for years
Location
Inaccurate photos on booking. $13/night😳. Had to pay on booking so couldn't cancel.
Really nice staff and people in the hostel. Nice offer to extend your stay for an hour of language exchange every day 👍
The room was dirty, old cigarette buds on the floor, the glass in the window was broken. 2 beds and a table stuffed in an small room with nearly no space for anything else The bed was worse than sleeping on the bare floor. The showers are only cold water, and really really dirty. Insects and animals everywhere. Holes in the walls and doors. The toilets didn't flush properly.
Staff very friendly but the owner didn’t give fk
