Reviewed Jul 20, 2026No recomiendo esta hostal. Confirmaron mi reserva y mi hora de llegada en medio de un temporal. Resulta que al llegar al preguntar a los vecinos porque nadie salía me dijeron que estaba cerrada de inicio de semana (al menos 4 dias antes de mi llegada). Esto no lo comunicaron nunca y no se pusieron en contacto para cancelar la reservar, tuve que hacer la solicitud una vez llegado allá en medio de un temporal. No lo recomiendo es una estafa y no tienen cuidado de los huéspedes. Insisto no reserven acá.

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026Siempre me alojo aqui queda vez que me encuentre en Castro. Los dueños son super amables y simpaticos, y se duerme muy bien porque las camas son super comodas. Esta vez fue mi cuarta. La ubiacion centrica es muy buena, cerca del mar, del mall, y de los terminales de bus. La calle es muy tranquila y la casa tiene muy buena calefaccion.

Petit bonus : elle dispose d’un mirador/terrasse donnant une très belle vue sur la baie. Grande télévision. Les animaux étaient très mignons (2 chats et un petit chien)

Reviewed Aug 16, 2025La ubicación fue lo mejor. Muy cerca de todo, literal; al lado de todo. La familia que atiende: muy atentos y simpáticos, y el lugar es una típica casa chilota, con todo el calor, y amor de hogar; que siempre se necesita (creo) en una hostal. Las pequeñas mascotas del hogar le dan su hermoso toque de amor y ternura al espacio, y en términos generales; puedo decir que es un lugar totalmente recomendable para cualquier viajero, familia, o grupo de visitantes en la comuna de Castro, y en la isla de Chiloé.
No hubo nada que no me haya gustado.

No dark curtain! The house is in front of a city light , so we couldn’t sleep al night. The walls are thin! We have heard our neighbors all night. She also tried to charge us more.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2025The family was super kind. The facilities were always clean. We felt incredibly welcomed even though our spanish is very poor. The hosts made an effort to answer our questions and help us plan our days. Super close to the bus terminal! Cant recommend this place enough!

Shared kitchen with all necessary appliances, and very clean shared bathrooms. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place as a base for exploring Chiloé!

Reviewed Dec 22, 2023Hosts were really nice and friendly. Location is central, easy to get around walking. The hosts helped us park our car in the tiny lot in front of the house. The bathrooms are being regularly cleaned.
First of all it is not a hostel, but a house in which a family lives in the ground floor and the guests in the upper floor of the building. The rooms are tiny and not perfectly clean, there was no fireplace and no kitchenette inside the room which differs from the description in Booking. Also there is no breakfast. The shared bathrooms are also tiny with very low ceiling and although they were constantly cleaned, it still felt a bit uncomfortable. Also on Booking there was breakfast included, but there was none offered. In general one could supposedly use the living room/kitchen, but we didn't since we felt it belonged to the family owning the property. Finally, for the same price one could get a room in a hostel offering about the same quality plus the additional services a hostel normally offers.

The curtains were quite thin, and with a street light right outside the window the room was quite light at night time. Not all rooms face this street, so wouldn't be a problem with other rooms.
