1 Room in The Yellow House, close to Airport & Lofoten

Very spacious, well equipped, plenty of supplies of all kinds. Friendly; responsive and hospitable hosts. Use of common kitchen was not an issue. Everything was clean and comfortable. Nice private space on upper floor including a sitting area (though we only stayed overnite due to our schedule). Well enclosed shower without water leaking outside (as happens in many other Norwegian rooms). Nice bedside reading lights with shelf for a phone or essentials with outlet. Big window overlooking water. Convenient parking outside the house. Convenient access to airport and 2 grocery stores. A luggage rack if it could be provided might be a nice feature add to future guests. Lots of bonus treats (going above and beyond most places): Supply of info about the area, couch in the room, bathroom Supplies, kitchen supplies.

Nothing really. Using a common kitchen felt a bit awkward at first since we weren’t used to it but it worked out well and was not a problem. A lot of guidelines and written policies were displayed around - was not an issue for us but could be for others. Sharing this so others know what to expect.

Quiero compartir mi experiencia con detalle, porque creo que puede ser útil tanto para futuros huéspedes como para las propietarias, de cara a que la descripción del anuncio en Booking se ajuste lo máximo posible a la realidad y así evitar confusiones. Se trata de una vivienda llamada "The Yellow House" (por su color), habitada por 2 personas y 1 perro, distribuida en 2 plantas. La habitación, el baño y un pequeño salón anexo que forman parte de la oferta están en la 2ª planta y son de uso exclusivo de los huéspedes. Sin embargo, para acceder a ellos hay que entrar por la vivienda de las propietarias y subir por una escalera interior, pasando por su salón y su cocina, que quedan a la vista. El dormitorio, baño y demás estancias de las propietarias en la planta baja, también a la vista, permanecían cerrados. Además, la cocina, muy bien montada, es compartida, pudiéndose utilizar los mismos utensilios y electrodomésticos que las propietarias. Creo que esta información es relevante porque la descripción actual en Booking no deja claro este aspecto, y puede llevar a alguna sorpresa al llegar al alojamiento. En nuestro caso, las propietarias no estuvieron presentes durante la estancia y nos facilitaron el acceso con mucha amabilidad y hospitalidad. Aun así, reconozco que resultó una sensación algo peculiar estar dentro de una vivienda ajena, con las pertenencias de sus dueñas a la vista. Dicho esto, la habitación y el baño en sí estaban muy bien. Y la ubicación es ideal, si se llega en un vuelo nocturno o el vuelo de vuelta es a primera hora. Tiene buenas vistas, sobre todo desde cocina. Está en una zona muy tranquila.

La falta de claridad en el anuncio de Booking: en la descripción del alojamiento no se especifica en ningún momento que, para llegar a la habitación, el baño y el salón anexo ofertados, es necesario entrar primero por la vivienda privada de las propietarias y subir por una escalera interior que forma parte de su propia casa. Esta información me parece esencial, porque cambia bastante la naturaleza del alojamiento: no es un espacio independiente con acceso propio, como podría entenderse de la oferta, sino una zona dentro de la vivienda habitual de las propietarias, a la que se accede atravesando sus estancias privadas (salón y cocina). Creo que este dato debería figurar de forma clara en el anuncio, ya que puede condicionar la decisión de reserva de muchos huéspedes, especialmente de aquellos que buscan mayor independencia o privacidad durante su estancia

Bardzo klimatyczne miejsce, w którym możesz poczuć się jak w prawdziwym norweskim domu. Goście dostają do dyspozycji komfortowy pokój na piętrze, z bardzo wygodnym łóżkiem, kanapą, poduszeczkami, kocami. Łazienkę z pełnym potrzebnym wyposażeniem (żele, szampony, ręczniki), a także możliwość korzystania z kuchni właścicieli, przygotowanym miejscem w lodówce (półka z napisem "goście"). Do tego miejsce na grilla, parking pod samym oknem. Mimo, że Pani Godpodyni zasugerowała, aby pytać, gdy czegoś potrzebujemy, w domu ujęły nas wszechobecne napisy informujące o wszystkim, co mogłoby zrodzić pytania. W pokoju dodatkowo albumy informacyjne o przepięknej okolicy, album pamiątkowy dla Gości, a jeden wyjątkowy egzemplarz albumu także ...przy toalecie - bo przecież najlepsze myśli często właśnie tam przychodzą do głowy 😉 Podsumowujac: absolutnie wyjątkowe miejsce, gdzie możesz poczuć prawdziwy klimat Norweskiej gościnności. Szczerze polecam!

Eine bessere Unterkunft kann man nicht bekommen. Es passt einfach alles. Angekommen und super freundlich empfangen worden. Der obere Stock ist für den Gast, Schlafzimmer, großes Bad und Vorraum mit Couch. Eine Tee Theke mit allem was man braucht. Betten in denen man sehr sehr gut schläft. Frühstück wer will gibt es auch und die große Küche im Erdgeschoss darf man auch benutzen. Parkplatz vor dem Haus und eine ruhige Gastgeber Familie. Alles top👌🏽

We stopped over for the night in order to get our car rental from the airport the next day. Ideal location for us as it is close to the airport.

We arrived well past midnight, and the host thoughtfully left the door open for us. The facility was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Although we left around 4:30 a.m. and didn’t meet the host in person, their responsiveness and hospitality left us with a wonderful impression. We would gladly stay here again.

Accueil sympathique d'Helena et Iselin. Nous avions à notre disposition une chambre et une salle de bain privative occupant tout le premier étage de la maison et pouvions disposer aussi de la cuisine d'Helena et Iselin. Nous avions choisi ce logement car très proche de l'aéroport (15 mn environ en voiture) ce qui est pratique quand on a un vol à 6h du matin.

Accueil tres sympathique des hôtes qui nous font nous sentir comme à la maison. Emplacement idéal à 15 min de l aeroport. Endroit paisible d où nous avons eu la chance d observer des aurores boréales.

Ubicacio ideal al costat del aeroport de Narvik, a 15minuts Net i acollidor. Si hem de tornar a la zona repetirem segur. Les amfitriones responen rapid a qualsevol dubte.

Good sized bedroom, bathroom and sitting area all for our use. Warm house with a comfortable bed. Tea coffee facilities provided. Located close to the airport but far enough out to be nice and quiet. Lovely views from the house. Only stopped one night but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The hosts picked us up from the airport as our flight came in at 11pm. They also took us back the following morning so we could pick up our rental car. They charged a small fee.

Abbiamo pernottato qui alla Yellow House a fine vacanza, la sera prima di ripartire per l'Italia, struttura scelta principalmente per la vicinanza all'aeroporto di Evenes (Harstad/Narvik), ma ottima che come punto di partenza per visitare le belle zone limitrofe. La stanza si trova al piano superiore di una graziosa casetta gialla, abitata da Helena ed Iselin e il loro simpatico cagnolino Felix. La camera è dotata di un comodo letto, un piccolo divano con tavolino, un bollitore con tutto il necessario per prepararsi un caffè o una tisana, e una veloce rete WiFi. Il bagno privato, a lato stanza, è molto ampio e pulito, dotato di una doccia comoda e funzionale. Al piano terra è possibile utilizzare cucina e soggiorno, condividendoli con Helena ed Iselin. Comodo il parcheggio gratuito di fronte alla casa.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt. Das Zimmer war hübsch eingerichtet, es stand Tee und Kaffee zur Verfügung. Das Bad war sehr geräumig und ließ an nichts fehlen Die Küche der Hauseigentümer durfte benutzt werden und man hatte nicht das Gefühl zu stören. Im Gegenteil, die Gespräche mit Iselin Helena waren herzwarm und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Das Highlight war auch Felix, der Hund und die sensationelle Beleuchtung vorm Haus. Wir waren 3 Nächte zu Gast und konnten viel unternehmen. Die Nähe zum Flughafen ist ebenfalls ein Bonus, aber wurde nebensächlich bei dem herzlichen Umgang von Iselin und Helena.

It's a cute house, with friendly and nice owners!! The room was big, clean and warm. You have an amazing view from the window, you can see the NORTHERN LIGHTS from your BED! Very nice bathroom as well. The accommodation was so comfy. I would love to come back.

It is a beautiful room in a nice house 15km away from the airport.It is very comfortable to stay there if you have an early flight in the morning as we did.The owners are very kind and helpful. The village is very quiet with not many things to do.Very close is a super market.

The location near the airport is excellent. Hosts were nice and the upstairs bedroom and bath are dedicated to guests.

This was the first time staying with a host. I think staying at a small hotel works better for me

We stayed here as a stop on our drive up to Tromsø and were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the place was! The surroundings were peaceful, and everything was clean and cozy. The owner was very friendly and professional—great communication throughout. They even kindly let us use the kitchen first, which we really appreciated. A lovely stay overall!

It's a lovely place to stay. We bought some food in the store nearby (about 2km) and cooked ourselves. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is big.

The room is very comfortable and you can use the kitchen which has everything. It is a beautiful house, very close to the airport. And the owners of the house, Helena and Iselin are very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

It’s far from the airport. It’s difficult if you’re using public transport.

We were driving to Lofoten and we weren't sure where we would end up needing a place to stay. I found The Little Yellow House and booked it a couple hours before we arrived. We loved the hosts, the house, and Felix :) We were exhausted and they provided us an incredibly comfortable room and a hot shower. We loved it and highly recommend it!

The location was stunning & so handy for an early trip to the airport. It was lovely chatting with Helena & Elesin who'd made everything really comfy with lots of space. We also saw the aurora!
