Reviewed Apr 30, 2026民宿的地點真的離捷運站超級近，有夠方便。最讓人驚訝的是房間的乾淨程度，真的只能用完美來形容! 雖然是面向馬路，但隔音效果也很好，聽不到外面的車聲與人潮的吵雜聲 大推這間民宿!!

之前住過一次，覺得枕頭很不好睡，床鋪的體驗感則不錯。然後環境清潔幽靜。這次自帶枕頭，就睡得不錯。

Reviewed Jun 10, 2025Super close to Tamsui station! About 300 meters or roughly 3-5 minutes of walking. The host was responsive and allowed me to check in one hour in advance because I had an online work meeting. There are so many shops and restaurants in the vicinity, but the restaurant next door served the best xiao long bao I've ever had in my life!
Soundproofing needs work. We could hear the people from the other room using their bathroom. The internet speed could be faster. Download is 30 Mbps, and upload is 10 Mbps. Good enough for basic stuff, but my work required a faster speed.

I would definitely recommend The Locomotive Homestay to other travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, modest room in a good location at a great price!

Reviewed Apr 1, 2024Clean, modern and well designed, good amount of space, and located near the train station and food. (Tip: the Chinese chiropractor, not the massage parlour, just opposite, is very good). Cheaper than staying in central Taipei but connected by mrt (about 45 mins). Tamsui is a lovely place to be in - lovely coastal views (just 5 mins walk from the residence), great food options, much less crowded and noisy than central Taipei. Staff were helpful and prompt with their replies.
As with most Taiwanese hotels and homestays, the soundproofing isn't fantastic. But it's not horrible (I stayed at a hotel with worse soundproofing in Kaohsiung).
