Nice quiet location. Close to town and attractions. Close access to the wonderful Lough Key Forest Park. Excellent host. Beautiful home and spotlessly clean. Great variety for breakfast. Highly recommend a stay here.

Nothing to dislike - Maggie and Fiona were the ultimate hostesses, so friendly, welcoming, jovial, and brightened our time with them. The house with its artwork, flowers outside, and openness made it feel cozy and like we were home! Want to return someday!

Margaret is such a lovely lady, she received me as if I was an old friend, immediately offering a cup of tea and some chocolate bars. She had a very important family event on that day but still gave me a lift to the Lough Key Park. Breakfast was simple with cereals, toasts, yogurts, fruits but very pleasant chatting with other guests. The beautiful house is on the hill with a nice view. Stunning Boyle Abbey is close too.

As it is in a residential area, there is only one small XL store nearby (It is around 20min walk to town, so you can find more options there) The room is lovely but somehow I could not manage to adjust the shower temperature and get warmer water. Still it was a comfortable stay.

Location is great and the premises are lovely very well maintained.

Curtains in the room could make it darker I had difficult sleeping at early hours of the day.

Margaret was a very helpful host who got up at 1am to help another guest get to the bus station. breakfast was served with a smile the next morning and the ingredients were all fresh and excellent quality.

Margaret was a brilliant host and welcoming. The room was very clean and cosy. A lovely continental breakfast in the morning. Hill grove House is located close to the town centre and easy to walk to town.

Margaret’s Hillgrove House was the best base for my explorations of Boyle and the county! Warm and welcoming! The bed was just right. I spent a few hours just reading in my easy chair by my window. Breakfast was lovely. The garden was so pretty in the evening when I returned. Everything is spotless.

Even if the house was nice and cozy, it was impossible to like it.

It was the worst accommodation experience I’ve had. The problem wasn’t the facilities but the host’s lack of hospitality. I’m not sure if it was because we’re Asian, but it really felt like we were treated differently. Most reviews said the host was warm and friendly, but we didn’t feel that at all. The bathroom wasn’t inside the room. It was clean and right across the hall, but constantly going in and out was really inconvenient.

Such a really lovely stay, Margaret and Fiona couldn't be more accommodating. Lovely breakfast with toast, fruit, lots of cereals and OJ. Such a comfy bed and a really clean lovely house with perfect location

It was the perfect stay.

Beautiful clean house, very comfortable beds, bathroom was spotless and lots of towels provided. Also could use kitchen and could make tea/coffee/hot chocolate at any time.

The location was our main focus as we went to do some genealogy study, but end up being perfect to walk to town and to the Abbey. Lovely place with manicure garden and a lovely host.

The area that this B&B located seems safe. Our bedroom is OK.

The B&B has a very restrictive rule for check-in (by 8pm). As we arrived late, the host was very unhappy and rude to complain.

Cannot put into words how special our stay was. Margaret was an absolute lady. Myself and my son were cycling from Donegal to Longford for charity. Margaret brought us the local restaurant An Craoibhinn, and insisted on covering our dinner! She was so kind. The house was exceptionally clean and homely. The house is the epitome of what a B&B should be. Thanks Margaret and Fiona xx

Maggie und Fiona sind super liebe Gastgeber und immer bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Wenn man Lust auf nette Gespräche und ein gemütliches ruhiges Zimmer hat, ist man hier genau richtig.

La propriétaire nous a confié une clef qui ne permettait pas d'ouvrir le logement. Nous avons tenté de la joindre par mail, elle ne nous a pas répondu. Puis ne nous a pas cru. Nous sommes restés 45 mn dehors à attendre dehors. Par chance d'autres touristes sont revenus vers 22hs et nous avons pu rentrer. Il faisait froid et il pleuvait. C'est intolérable et très inconfortable, inadmissible

Breakfast was more continental than cooked. It was very good and Maggie goes to a lot of trouble to keep things homely and good. She even collected me from the station which is brilliant because the area is beautiful but not easy to get to without transport.

Nothing that Maggie has any control over the area is quite hilly and I’m not terribly Mobile but she collected me from the station which made life so much easier
