Very clean, comfortable, good bed and WiFi, good location close to the centre but very quiet at night. But it's especially Reggie who made the stay very pleasant, he's such a nice and helpful person. Reggie the friendly host is what makes this place great.

My stay at Javal Homestay completely exceeded all expectations! Every single detail was taken care of, and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the accommodation. A massive thank you to our host, Sir Raggie—his exceptional helpfulness and warm hospitality made the entire experience unforgettable. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone!

Reggie is amazing and the reason this place gets such good reviews. He’s so informative, knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us book our expedition tour to el nido even on a Sunday. 10/10 service. AC in the room was good. Great location.

Very dated, towels were really tatty and in need of replacement. Bed was very hard. Sheet to sleep with was a strange fabric that wasn’t comfy and again in need of replacement. Quite noisy too

The room was clean and organized, the seating area was nice, Reggie was a fantastic host who helped with everything and has the inside track on all the best deals and eats. The location was excellent and the sari sari store across the road has everything you need, from homecooked meals to laundry services.

The bathroom could have been in better shape.

Location was nice, close to the port, cafes, and shops. I have mixed feelings about Reggie. I grateful for him for providing a separate room for me and a separate room for the german guy, it was convenient.

I feel that this option was about the owner, not about the guests. Too many restrictions right from check in. I understand that every property has its own rules, but as a person who's been traveling across the Philippines, I got more freedom in other places. What exactly I did not like: 1) "granny" odor in the room. When I came into the room, there was nothing to breathe. I can use just my fan, but it was not enough to make the air flows, so it was too hot in the room 2) WiFi barely worked in the room B. I used my mobile network for work. 3) no mosquito net on the window. That means you cannot open the window cuz otherwise you will be bitten. Luckily, I have an electric fumigator and an anti-mosquito repellent pad, it saved my life. I opened the window, drew the curtain and slept. Anyway, it was too hot. The fan is right in front of your head, so I cannot sleep when it blows to you all the time. 4) no kitchen and fridge, but there is a sink in the common area. 5) water is not free at all. You can use it only for tea/coffee. If you need to refill your bottle, you should pay 5 pesos. Come on, guy, 20l costs 20 pesos at the refilling station. If you refill it in the machine outside, 1l would cost you 4 pesos. 6) you cannot wash your clothes. Probably, smth small. This is the first time I've ever encountered something like this. 7) and finally, the weird thing happened. Reggie has recommended me a Super Ultimate tour for 1900. It is more expensive, even we booked a tour in El Nido. Btw, I liked just 2 spots of 7 (lunch lagoon and Barracuda lake) Later, I came to another place, talked with neighbors and they shared with me that they did the same tour at 1600 and shown be a promo sheet. They also shared with me a phone number of another company, the price was also lower. I checked the website of the company I went with and the price was 1850. Spots are the same, but the price is different. Lunch was common for tours, nothing special.

L’accueil, l’emplacement, la propreté des chambres, la climatisation bref : nous sommes restés malheureusement qu’une nuit mais ce fut la meilleure à Coron ! Et puis à ce prix là, foncez !

Reggie is a great host - very helpful with recommendations. The room is very clean & comfortable & modern a/c (nice & quiet).

Good location and price.

The property is in a great location, just a short walk from the town and port. There is also a good Laundry service next door. The host (Reggie) was exceptionally helpful; we arrived with an idea of what we wanted to do but no bookings, and he helped us book both the Coron super ultimate tour and the expedition to el Nido. He also got us a discount on the expedition which was great! Both tours were fantastic and I would highly recommend taking reggie’s advice on activities!

A good hostel! Friendly host who will assist with anything/everything. Dorms are spacious enough, small lockers available (bring a padlock), water provided, wifi ok, walkable from harbour, laundry and small shop opposite. I'd stay again.

Propriétaire très sympa et arrangeant. Il nous a arrangé un tour en bateau pour le lendemain matin et un transport pour l’aéroport très tôt le matin. Possibilité d’étendre ses vêtements à l’extérieur!

Eau potable à disposition le premier jour mais il n’y en avait plus le 2e jour, nous l’avons mentionné mais il n’en a pas remis.

Reggie really good and helpful. Basic but everything you need. Area not well lit at night, bit iffy, but I’d defo recommend here.

Reggie ist super. Er hat uns viele tolle Tipps gegeben, was man alles in Coron sehen kann, abseits von vielen Touristen. Die Lage ist auch super.

Das Bett war leider etwas unbequem, aber für 1 Nacht ok. Es gibt auch einen sehr penetranten chemischen Geruch im Bad, keine Ahnung was das ist, aber es war fast nicht auszuhalten.

The host was the best you can get. He gave us the best recommendations on what to do, where to eat... He arranged the hopping islands tour and rental of motorbikes. His neighbour is making great coffee and breakfast (and laundry if you need). We had the best stay, mostly because of this welcoming accommodation. Would come back. The private room is tiny, but we didn't mind, we spent our time outdoors. The hostel part looks even better though.

On the picture bright rooms: we had dark, narrow room on the ground floor, stilos, windows on concrete wall. The room was paid in full upon arrival, and the outstanding change was to be returned at a later time. Despite reminders, it was not refunded. I would like to point out that tipping is voluntary and must not be withheld without explicit consent, regardless of the amount. This is not a matter of pettiness, but a matter of principle.

Only there for one night before boat expedition but it was perfect for that. Room was clean, had AC, hot water in shower, good room for price paid. Had free water dispenser. Reggie the host was very helpful, gave us dinner recommendations and booked us a tricycle to the port.

El alojamiento estaba limpísimo,todo,de los sitios más limpios que he visto en Filipinas. El aire acondicionado funcionaba genial y no hacía ruido y el agua caliente también genial. La ubicación no es en el centro,pero se tarda 10 min andando y además así evitas el bullicio. Nos gustó mucho.

Los gallos empiezan a cantar a las 5 de la mañana,pero en esta zona es normal,independientemente del alojamiento.

Nice little hostel in coron, the host is a really nice guy

I had a really great stay at this homestay hostel, and a big part of that was thanks to Reggie. He is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely cares about his guests. He helped me organize tours and transfers, and gave great recommendations for places to eat — which made everything so much easier and more enjoyable. The place itself is clean, comfortable, and has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere where you feel at home. What stood out the most, though, was Reggie’s attitude. You can tell he truly wants you to have a good experience, and that makes a huge difference. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a welcoming place with a great host.

Em Reggie és súper atent i t'ajuda amb tot el que necessites, dona molt bons consells per passar els teus dies a Coron. Pots llogar moto allà mateix. Lloc per entendre la roba molla.

Alguns insectes a l'habitació, el labavo i la dutxa s'embossen amb facilitat, falta algun armari per deixar les coses a l'habitació.

Ignore the reviews regarding the owner as he was very welcoming and nice. He gave us lots of advice for places to go and was happy to help. The room is very clean and comfortable. A/C is good. Free water cold and hot. Good cheap local eats near that he recommended. 20minutes walk to port for expedition or easily get tuk tuk.

Alloggio semplice, confortevole e pulito in contesto familiare, il proprietario vive nello stesso stabile con la famiglia. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. È ubicato in una zona non turistica, che a me è piaciuta moltissimo per la sua autenticità, ma comunque vicino al centro, con ristoranti negozi ecc. raggiungibili a piedi. Il punto di forza è il proprietario, amichevole e disponibile, ci ha aiutati per le escursioni, il noleggio dello scooter e la prenotazione del van per l’aeroporto, oltre a darci consigli di vario genere. Una menzione anche per la piccola attività a fianco, che su richiesta prepara colazioni e pranzi al sacco ottimi ed economici. Grazie di tutto!

Après plusieurs péripéties dans notre voyage, l’accueil du propriétaire à Joval Homestay a été un vrai réconfort. Nous nous sommes sentis accueillis, attendus et à notre aise dans ce logement ! L’air climatisé est très apprécié après des journées chaudes. Reggie a été d’une grande douceur, bienveillant et attentif. Des conseils en termes de visites et de lieux pour se restaurer ont été très appréciés!!

Lots of windows. Huge shared spaces. Quiet neighborhood. Close to town center. Clean. Has lockers. Enough bathrooms. Enough showers.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits chez Reggie, et nous avons adoré notre expérience. Les chambres sont propres. Reggie est très agréable et serviable.. répond à chacun de nos demandes et fait son maximum pour que notre séjour se passe pour le mieux (adresses restaurants locaux, location scooter etc…) Merci pour tout Gabrielle et Adel 🙂

Lit un peu petit pour dormir à 2…

Reggie est vraiment une personne et un hôte incroyable. Il m’a averti que je devais imprimer à l’avance mes billets pour le ferry Coron vers Manille. Sans lui j’aurais probablement passé un long moment en file au port. Aussi, il m’a aidé à organiser ma journée en me trouvant un chauffeur pour me faire visiter. Merci encore Reggie, je recommande sans hésiter

Impossible to sleep as it's a very noisy place, roosters yelling whole night, motorbikes, people walking along the street - we had a private room but I didn't sleep three nights.

Il proprietario é una persona squisita e ci ha aiutato molto per colmare le nostre lacune e così abbiamo programmato le 2 giornate al meglio.

La gentillesse, la disponibilité et les recommandations de Reggie. Logement simple mais fonctionnel, situé dans une rue calme mais proche du centre. La proximité de la boutique, face au logement, pour des petits déjeuners simples mais bon et pour les lessives.

Reggie è stato fantastico, ci ha dato tanti consigli, si è occupato di tutto mentre eravamo suoi ospiti, tour, scooter, traghetto, lasciandoci rilassare senza pensare a niente. Lo consiglio a tutti è una persona famtastica

Reggie is the most wonderful host. We listened to every recommandation and it made our stay so much better! The house is beautiful and clean. There is space to hang out oustide of the dorm and plenty of space to hang our clothes to dry. Reggie helped us book a tour. He is passionate, funny and welcoming, we already miss him!

What did we like? We liked Reggie! ❤️ Just like everyone else who has experienced his genuine friendliness & super quick assistance & knowledge re anything, including tours & activities to do (he booked everything so quickly for us). A lovely, lovely man with a big heart. Thanks, Reggie! 🙏 The room was cosy, the mattress very comfortable, large community water dispenser, plates, cups & cutlery available for use, outdoor drying area & eating area. Excellent aircon. 10 min walk from town centre. After 5 nights, we got to know locals, and enjoyed street food. Barber/hairdresser, just around the corner, very good, very cheap, definitely deserved to be paid far more than 150pesos for my hubby's haircut, so we did.

Had we had time & remembered to tell Reggie, we know he would have fixed it straight away, but I just couldn't get an even hot water service going for my shower, was either scorching hot or cool. And the toilet seat kept falling down. It needs a bit of adjusting.

Reggie is the nicest host we have met during our stay in Palawan Island. He gave us so many reccomendations and helped us when in need. The room is nice and clean.

You are amongst the locals which is lovely. Reggie the host was so nice. He explained all about the area & gave us recommendations for local food places with good prices. He also organised our Tricycle to the hot spring. Room was comfortable & spacious. Drinking water & hot water available which was great.

The shower pressure wasn’t fantastic but that’s the case with most places in the Philippines.

Very friendly and knowledgeable host who recommended activities and restaurants to us. The location was within walking distance of the main high street which was great, and the price was very affordable.

There was no kettle or filtered water in our private room building, and the ceiling of the bedroom had lots of mould on it and was not in a great condition. The plug sockets were also not in a good location, all just hanging on an extension cable halfway up the wall on the opposite side to the bed.

The host Reggie is very friendly and is at the ready to help you out. He has great tips for sights in Coron. Also some local restaurants for good Filipino food. The rooms are also very nice and colorful.

The beds are not the most comfortable but that’s a good reason to get a massage somewhere ;)
