great value for money and really friendly staff

I really liked my stay there. The host was friendly Big and comfortable bed The best thing was proximity with the beach and swimming spot with big waves to have fun with. Also close to Yoga Tangalle studio. Close to a decent supermarket

good room with fan and super friendly environment. value is ok, when considering the low price. the garden is a super nice place to sit in and its so close to the beach.

for us it was to hot to sleep. because it is ground floor and the windows dont have bars on them, you either have an open house all night or have to close them. with closed windows it got really hot really quick. other than that the place could be much nicer with some small adjustments. it could use a new mosquitonet or fix/ wash of the old one. maybe nets on the windows. and a thorough "spring cleaning" of all the corners etc. with those small things it would measure up to other budget places we stayed at. still worth going, if you dont mind the heat.

The Hostess is very friendly and helpful—she also prepared a great breakfast! The place is very nice and close to the beach! I’m 75 years old and walked to the beach in under 2 minutes— and you can hear the music of the Ocean Waves day and night! A GREAT EXPERIENCE, best priced place in town, AND WORTH EVERY PENNY! I also recommend the “Trees Restaurant” that’s a 5-7 minute walk away! (See pic)

Well… I left the place to go find a place closer to “Secret Beach” (to go Snorkeling)… found a nice place but it was much more expensive… So I returned to Tangelle to discover that the place that I so enjoyed was fully booked! (I found another really nice, place just up the hill, but had to pay more!) After arriving, make sure to have her block off whatever additional days you hope to stay there! It’s the best place in the area for the money!!!

The location of the accomodation is amazing. Only few meters from the beach. The host is also very nice and offers breakfast as well. We have had the “villa” which was separated from other rooms. There was an AC in the room but we have not used it…

I think this place could be easily a little paradise but actually I believe they have to take more attention to clean the rooms / fridge / bathrooms. And would be great to have some protection agains mosquitos and other bugs. There is no hot water but it was ok for us.

Pokoj je dost malý, trochu temný. Málo úložného prostoru na zavazadla. Hodně slabá wifi, ale to je na Sri Lance běžné. Okna se hůř zavírají, takže se do pokoje snadno dostane hmyz (ale nad postelí je noskytiéra, takže to není takový problém).

I just LOVE this place, it's less than a minute from the beach and all the good restaurants, but still it feels quiet, because it's not right on the main street. I can highly recommend this place and Mrs. Ramana is such a lovely person.❤️ And the breakfast is perfect, it keeps me going on until dinner, so it's the perfect place if you are on a budget too. I started out with 2 days, and extended immediately for 2 weeks. Maybe I never leave 😃😂

The friendliest owner and family, they really welcomed their guests into their home. I extended for multiple nights. I was greeted with a smile everyday! Super safe and a 1 minute walk to the beach too! Great communication!

Ramani is a really sweet host, making everything for you to feel like at home! Also she is full of good advice! The room and the bed are big and comfy, and the beach is literally in one step from the house. I booked for one night, and I finally stayed four nights! I can highly recommend this place!

It was a wonderful stay at a cozy homestay hosted by the lovely Ramani. From the moment we arrived, Ramani made us feel right at home with her warm hospitality and attention to detail. The homestay itself is nice and tidy, reflecting her care and dedication. One of the best aspects was its proximity to the beach—just a few minutes away! It was perfect for leisurely strolls and enjoying the beautiful seaside. While it's important to note that there is no air conditioning and the WiFi connection wasn't usable during our stay, the charming ambiance and the value for the price more than made up for it. The experience truly felt like a relaxing escape. We are grateful to Ramani for her kindness and the opportunity to stay in such a welcoming place. This homestay is the perfect fit if you're looking for a budget-friendly option near the beach!

For the price, this is absolutely worth it. Anyone should just visit this place to really get the feeling of living in a «home stay». The woman whom ran it was just amazing, like an auntie I never met. Would love to stay here again some day.

Ramini is the most generous and caring host ever! She loves each and every one of her guests and is happy to cook for you and help you with anything you may need. This homestay is located is very close to the beach and is surrounded by lush greenery.

This place was wonderful. The owner is truly delightful and makes you feel very at home. The room was very comfortable and with access to the kitchen and some lovely outside spaces it really has everything you need. Super close to the beach and very convenient for the local shops and restaurants.

No WIFI in the room but with local SIM and data pack this is really no problem.

The host was very friendly and welcoming.

The place is very dirty and full of small animals. The kitchen was still full with dirty plates and cooking material, which looked like it has been sitting there dirty for months. The bathroom was in a condition we didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower. The Place looked like it has been empty for months and wasn’t cleaned before our arrival. Cannot be rented out in the condition we found it.

This is my Sri Lankan home and family. I loved my stay here and I love these people. Mom is the most lovely person ever and she will take care of everything you need. I stayed here first 8 nights and after one week came back for 4 nights. I had everything what I needed. I wish everything best for this family and I'm going back there as soon as possible.

Accommodation with a very pleasant lady who is always happy to advise and help. There are lots of beach bars and restaurants just opposite. A pleasant place with a homely atmosphere. Thanks very much for the few days here!:)

The host is so wonderful I felt at home so quickly it was hard to leave even though I was only there for two nights ha ha. It's a perfect location, right off the best swimming spot, in a lovely house in a garden. I loved lying there listening to the waves....

Right next to the beautiful beach of Tangalle, the location is perfect ! The room was nice and spacious with a mosquito net, powerful fan and nice bathroom. The owner is such a lovely lady and cook beautifully, the breakfast and diner were really tasty :) I had a great evening having diner with the others guests sharing stories and adventures it was really pleasant :) I highly recommend Ananda Homestay if you're staying in Tangalle. Everything was great. The property is in a quiet alley on the beach, there's a nice garden. The room has a mosquito net, 2 fans, a table and a chair. The food is delicious.. I will come back!

Large bed. Great mosquito net. Large bathroom. Sound of the waves. Temperature was ok with fresh air coming from outside as it is close to the sea + the fan is great and makes no noise. The amazing owner: Sri Lanka is full of amazing people, and Ananda is one of the best. Cheap cooking lesson: about 3000 rs. Very friendly, nice English, you can laugh a lot with her. She can provide you access to her kitchen. She managed to find a motorbike rental who does not require the passport. Laundry is possible. Nice garden to rest.

Maybe the sound of one of the bars in the morning (starting at 8am) and at night (until 10pm). It was still acceptable and I'm someone who is very sensitive to this kind of thing. Breakfast was a bit expensive though.

Best location in Tangalle, literally steps from the beach and all the beach restaurants! Owner is very friendly and kind.

None of my charging adapters would fit into the one plug in the room (which is being used by the fan anyways). Room needs a power bar.

One of our best stays in Sri Lanka. We were welcomed with a big smile and she helped us with all of our needs. Food was also excellent! We wish we stayed longer.

Lovely owner letting you feel at home at her homestay. Basic room with comfortable bed and mosquitonet for very reasonable price. Welcome tea. Good wifi. 30 sec to the beach. In the main restaurant area. Nice opportunity to sit outside. Later checkout possible.

The home stay is well located, near the beach and the centre and the owner is so lovely. But, it could have been more clean. Anyway, for the price is worth it.

Right by the beach, you can hear the waves of the ocean from your room! :) Incredibly welcoming and lovely host, she is amazing and you feel at home when you stay here. The breakfast was so delicious and the ingredients fresh from her own garden.

As it was quite inexpensive, likewise the cleanliness wasn’t super. But again for the price, it’s not so bad.

The lady that runs the place is lovely, since the first minute she treated us like we were their family. It's very very close to the beach, and some restaurants but still very quiet. You should definitely try her breakfast and take a cooking class with her. I 100% recommend it

Had a very pleasant stay at Anada Home Stay! Stayed two nights and the accomodation was super close to the beach and nearby restuarants! Host is very kind and has great hospitality (: delicious breakfast! Me and my friend also booked a cooking class one evening which was super nice. Learned how to cook 4 curry which was super tasty. Really recommend this guesthouse!

I'm not picky so I didn't mind, but the bathroom and small kitchen needed a bit more cleaning. I arrived just after someone else so I guess the lady didn't have too much time to clean though.

Host lady was awesome, she helped us a lot and was really friendly. Overal the accomodation is great for the price. 3 minutes from the beach, city center walkable distance, we would gladly come again.
