Chambre confortable. Homestay chaleureux
This homestay is so quaint and perfectly located for what feels like an authentic Vietnamese village experience. Some of the buildings are old and some are new editions but it feels like a lovely little community. The bed was super comfortable, the quilt warm, bedding clean and good quality, the best quality pillows we had since leaving home! The evening meal was incredible, the best food we had eaten in Vietnam! Other reviews do not over compliment this, it really was fantastic. The addition of the host treating us to her traditional music and singing was just a magical end to the evening.. Shared toilet and shower facilities were ok and being improved. The hosts did a great job of managing different guests and making everyone feel welcomed.
Karaoke at night for me kind of ruined the traditional atmosphere of the place but was quietened when another guest requested. Personally I would not ruin the atmosphere with this but understand the other guests were enjoying it and it did not go on too late at all.
El ambiente acogedor
que lasparedes eran un tablon de madera y se escuchaba todo
Hot water run well.
Breakfast is not worth it, quantity is too low
Les chambres étaient confortables, le repas délicieux et l'hôte très très gentille et accueillante

Hang is such a lovely and great host! I felt so welcomed and got integrated by the hosts and another vietnamese family What an amazing evening with Google Translate, delicious food and lots of happy water Thanks for having me!
The food prepared was delicious. Very homely atmosphere. Great location, less than 5 minute bike to the waterfall.
Liked everything
Beautiful homestay. The family were so friendly. The food was amazing and great value for money.
We had a lovely stay of 1 might at Hoang cong homestay and we would totally recommend to stay there when you visit the area
We stayed 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. The room was a good size and tidy as was the shared bathrooms. The common area was a nice place to sit and chat with other guest and the family. The food was wonderful and you get a lot of it.The whole experience and area was wonderful would definitely stay again.
Nice location. I think all the homestays in Ban Gioc are close to each other anyway. We got upgraded to a better room for free. The place was clean. The dinner together with all the other guests was very nice, and there was plenty of food. The breakfast was good as well.
Great food, good location, really nice staff.
Loved the history and story of this homestay! The host was amazing and made sure we were comfy! They're originally from here and made an awesome place! The food they made was all from their garden or local! Booked a private room and was comfortable!
Nothing
Authentic Homestay experience.
The rooms can do with more cleaning. Mine had some cobwebs.
Host was very welcoming, gave us some flower tea when we arrived and lors of snacks throughout the stay ! Bed was very comfortable and room spacious. Thank you again
Would be good to have meals available at the homestay, at least breakfast :)
Amazing location. Wonderful and friendly owners. Fantastic food
Super friendly, good tips and excellent food
Super friendly host and fantastic area, close to the cave, the waterfall, the pagoda, and within an hour driving to some great viewpoints. The host cooked delicious vegetarian meals for us also. She even played some traditional music with an instrument made from pumpkin! I had a great time and I’m already missing the place…
It was a really good homestay! The family is welcoming and the food amazing!
The owners of this homestay are such friendly people. We were invited to join their family dinner and because we were the only guests that night they upgraded us to the private room with bathroom. Very peaceful place, inbetween the limestone mountains.
Really lovely experience - family dinner was great
Welcoming atmosphere
We had a big room for the two of us. The homestay is located in a beautiful small village only a few minutes drive from the waterfalls. The hosting family was very nice and hospitable and we had the best dinner since being two weeks in Vietnam.
The walls between rooms are thin, so you hear the people in the other room, but it didn't really bother us. Cleanliness in the bathroom could be a bit better. But still very good value for the money.
Everything. Just a brilliant experience. Food location were perfect and the family we stayed with so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!
Nothing
The house is authentic and there are two homestays literally attached. So you can get in touch with more people. The owners are super nice and welcoming. Cherry on the pie: walking distance a spot where you can dive in to refresh… you will definitely need it!
Not in all the bedrooms there is A/C and after an entire day might be nice.
Lovely little homestay with a very friendly host, serving up a great dinner, homely atmosphere, and conveniently located. Basic but decent amenities.
We were very well taken care of at this homestay. The proprietor was very friendly and spoke great English. They served excellent food at breakfast lunch and dinner for a reasonable fee.
The location is within walking distance to the local attractions (the cave, temple and waterfall) but it is a long walk which can be uncomfortable in the heat.
Host were very nice Mosquito nets provided The village is lovely I had the chance to eat with the family (with other western tourist) but a group of Vietnamiese people were eating all together outside. I wish we could have shared a dinner all together :)
Bathroom has not be cleaned
It’s a beautiful place, very remote and a lovely family! The rooms are very basic but as expected as it is very cheap to stay there. Food was incredible 😍
Friendly owners, great cooking by the husband, very quiet and clean. The village is beautiful and the location wonderful.
We had such a wonderful stay, no complaints
Location. Dinner was nice.
More authentic breakfast would be nicer.
We arrived with a motorbike and could check in before 12pm to explore the waterfall and caves without heavy luggage, which was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and they provide a mosquito net to let you sleep like a Baby. They offer a very nice& big Dinner with local food & drink (happy water) = 100K/pax. There is a big common area which makes it easy to have a chat with other travellers or the family. On the next morning they made a really nice breakfast (ricepancake with Banana, Egg, Coffee/ Tea) for 50K/pax. The shared bathrooms are spacious and clean.

Great hosts, delicious food and very beautiful surroundings.
I loved this place, it was so amazing to be welcome in her wonderful home and enjoying it with h her family. They are all welcoming and kind, she talked so openly about her culture and her village. It was an honour to be there. The food was beyond amazing. So fresh, tasty and well cooked. Everyone was more then satisfied. A true homely feel The bedrooms were intrinsic and not for those who want hotel bedframe treatment.. this was its charm and an experience. She even helped her the moped through the slippery village after the rain.
Nothing, bring earplugs if you don't like sharing a room
Incredibly surreal staying in a 300 year old family home. The host family are incredibly friendly and make your stay super comfortable. Dinner was absolutely wonderful and a highlight of the stay.
A true rustic experience in Vietnam. The owners of the homestay were so nice, and the food they cooked was incredible. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here even if it was only 1 night. It's a perfect place to unwind and get in touch with local rural vietnam life and learn about the local people. Thank you so much for our stay, it was very memorable.
The owners were lovely and the food was amazing. The scenery was second to none, truly outstanding.
The first night was awesome the other guests were really nice and respectful of other people. The second night was the opposite unfortunately. Not the owners fault in anyway, but that was my experience.
The authentic vibes of Tay people. The host and her family are really nice towards us. They cooked vegetarian dinner for us. The house itself contains history.

Very welcoming Very friendly family Great dinner and breakfast. Very social place, Had a good sleep.
During our stay in an ancient village, we had a wonderful time in this 300-year-old stone house. The host was very friendly and warm-hearted, and also a great cook of traditional Cao Bang cuisine. Although we only stayed for one night, it was filled with amazing food, good company, and interesting conversations. We definitely plan to return here in the future.
Nothing much.
Traditional village setting. Unbelievably beautiful surroundings and a real emergence in to how the villagers live. Had a great morning stroll through the surrounding villages too. The host cooked amazing food for everyone, delicious So fascinating, a world away from my home life in a big city. The waterfalls were amazing too.
Nothing
They tried to keep it as authentic as possible. Good food. Great location. I like how the house just like the village has its own history. Suitable for people who wants authentic experience but not for ones who looks for luxurious/Instagram/selfie kind of stay.
The mattress was thin and not comfortable. If you want a very comfortable bed after a long drive this might not meet your expectations but that's what you trade for a more local experience.
They are a really nice family who make you feel very comfortable, I was going to stay one night but finally stayed for another day. The place is lovely and I had one of the best meals I've had in Vietnam Thank you!
Very. Good natural location and delightful people.
Bathroom needed deep clean..
The place is wonderfull and the family really nice ! I spent a really nice journey, I highly recommand !
Spacious Rooms. clean bathrooms, beauty full dining area, silence is supreme the food the offered was amazingly fresh and delicious

Absolutely loved it! These type of homestays are a large part of what makes it worth it to travel the north. Very nice location and a lovely meal with the family. I stayed a day extra to enjoy the peace and the surroundings.
the owner was a great woman, she immediately let us check in and was very welcoming with snacks and drinks, we felt immediately at home! Great typical Homestay: nice dinner with the familie and their friends, good rooms with mosquito nets (beds on the floor though like every house), nice bathrooms with hot water.
don’t expect luxury, but a great version of an authentic Homestay!
Very authentic experience ! The room is nice and cozy . Getting dinner with the host and their kids is definitely a different experience . Close to the Tiger Cave which is a must see plus the Ban Gioc Waterfall .
Absolutely amazing stay here. Very genuine and lovely experience. Will stay here again the next time (:
The hospitality, dinner, freindliness and kind ess of the family, super noce simple rooms, quiet environment close to the waterfalls and caves.
great dinners (veggie options!!), comfortable bed, friendly staff, motorbike rental, close to waterfalls!
The most lovely family is the team behind this homestay. And what a team! You feel welcome from the moment you arrive, we were freezing and were immediately put in front of a fire and given a cup of tea to warm up. We were able to check in early and have some rest. We also had a fantastic dinner at the homestay! They went over and beyond in details to make sure we were happy. The location is a lovely village about 30min walking distance from the waterfalls.
Everything was great, but this is just a note so you are aware there are no scooter rental shops in the village, the homestay has a couple of manual scotters, but no automatics, so think if you need one beforehand so you come up with a plan b.
One of the best homestays I have stayed at. Very welcoming family, great food and comfortable accommodation. All in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Perfect place! Very nice owner, great food. If you want to experience living with local family in typical house of Tay people, go for it. We loved it!

traditional homestay, incredible food (vegetarian option), lovely family, interesting dinner with the family, simple, close to the waterfalls
everything was perfect!
The homestay is located in Khuoi Ky ancient stone village and the atmosphere is just amazing. You get a very cozy, authentic, and local feel. The balcony overlooking the mountain provides a chilling setting. The hosts are nice and friendly. We were offered to join a family dinner for just 100,000 VND per pax and the food was so delicious. One of the best stays on our trip to the North this time.
The hospitality of the owners, meeting others and the quality of the home cooked food. The location is superb close to Ban Gioc Waterfall, pagoda and cave.

this is the local experience! fantastic family who is happy to answer all your questions. location near the waterfall is really nice
Thoroughly enjoy my stay in this authentic Tay village. Our host Cong and Hoang are great chef and prepare the best meals for us. I love the beautiful house they have and we had dinner every night with other travellers staying at the house. It was surrounded by the mountains and nature. Walking distance to the amazing cave and Ban Gioc waterfall. Highly recommend!
Great stay at Hoang Cong Homestay, we had a very warm welcome and a super pleasant night in the montains, it felt really good being there. The house is ancient and has a great atmosphere, it's the real homestay experience and discovery of vietnamese way of life !
This is true family homestay. The family is super friendly and welcoming. You should not expect luxury but if you want true Vietnamese experience I think this is it. We have had very good meals here including delicious Vietnamese breakfasts. The host played for us a nice song on her pumpkin instrument. We tried cutting rice and we visited buffalo stable. The location is close to the waterfalls, caves and pagodas. The accomodation was clean and we had nice hot shower there. The host arranged for us a rental of a scooter for a reasonable price. We felt truly welcomed - almost like home. Thank you.
ancient property and enjoy the culture of Tay’s hospitality.
