You ideally need your own form of transport to be able to enjoy the area to the max!

The hosts were very inviting, kind and very helpful. We were made to feel very welcome and important. The room was very spacious as per the pictures. The facilities were luxurious. The minibar and snacks in the room are free and replenished daily with cleaning. The food, cooked by the hosts, was restaurant quality and very generous in quality and serving size, you will not go hungry and great value for money! The location is peaceful, so much greenery, beautiful river walk close by. Not the hustle and bustle of the main park if you want space and to relax. The hosts own the surrounding tea fields and you can do a tasting to understand the great quality of their tea. They have a family run business in the main Alishan Park where you can do this experience again with more of their tea varieties. The hosts also has their own coffee roasts from locally sourced beans and they are around the corner from the main local coffee grower/roaster in the region if you want to expand your coffee experience. We would happily stay again and thank you so much!

This place exceeded all my expectations - simply WOW!!! Everything was stellar and above and beyond, from the accomodation to the hosts to the service to the food. Literally not one bad thing to say here. The accommodation is so beautifully decorated you could tell the hosts put a lot of love and heart into the design. Every room is incredibly spacious and so thoughtfully decorated down to the details of the little stuffed animal on our bed. The common spaces are also beautiful and full of art that the hosts made and collected over time. The service was so top notch. Our hosts were so incredibly lovely - this is true hospitality at its finest!!! They had their adorable kids nearby and drove us into the Alishan town while providing awesome recs. They also served us breakfast and dinner, always with a smile and warmth to them. Speaking of the food - it was spectacular!!!! It was all beautifully presented and every meal was hearty and delish. They mixed all these flavors in a unique delicious way and the presentation itself was like art. Overall, i could not stop raving about this place. This is a true hidden gem and unlike any other hotel I’ve ever stayed at and we will for sure be back and recommend this place to everyone!!

Breakfast and afternoon tea both had very generous portions. Owner was lovely, attentive, and every corner of the establishment was very thoughtfully decorated.

Once in a while on a trip, all the stars align. Alishan is a magical area to begin with, and the magic can only be best discovered by staying with a warm host from the area. This place is exceptional from the house itself, the artistic and literary flair, and most of all the whole family behind it. They are the warmest, most genuine, and most interesting hosts who can enrich your experience and give you a real understanding of the region. Spotless and comfortable, with lavish home cooked meals, it’s a 10/10.

The hosts are warm, welcoming and so hospitable. It feels like you are with family. The meals were thoughtful and extremely generous. We felt so at home!

The employees are nice and there is a walking trail nearby.

The cost is very high for what it is. The food was okay but we got served something very similar for dinner and breakfast (roast chicken). It’s not super easy to access without a car.

If strict no shoes inside the facility, a pair of new / individual slippers should be offered. I personally don't put my feet into anybody else shoes or slippers.

The place was beautifully designed and decorated, extremely clean. Food was good, they really show love in their food. Would have preferred if they cooked local homey Taiwanese dishes, the kind that your mom/ grandma would cook for you but it was still delicious.

This guesthouse is owned and operated by a family who also owns the tea and coffee terraces around it and you can watch the tea being picked from your room. The location is about 1 hour to Alishan and 1.5 hours to Yushan. Our corner room was large with tiled floors, a comfortable Western king bed (unusual as beds are hard in Taiwan) a huge, but rather empty bathroom and a wrap around balcony that offered 180 degree views. They serve their own tea in the afternoons with cake and their own coffee at breakfast in the mornings in cut glass wine glasses, which is one of their many eccentric features. In April, swarms of fireflies can be seen a short walk away and some even wander onto the balcony.

There isn’t a comfortable chair in the room or on the balcony. The futon is only for decoration and pulling out for additional guests and the only other place to sit is on the cushions on the windowsill. The ceiling lights are blinding so we just used the standard lamp unless we needed to see inside the cupboard to make tea etc. The decoration of the hotel is a childhood theme abounding in toys and Beatrix Potter. The most bizarre decoration is a miniature coffin on the wall by the front door laying to rest a bunch of dead roses with an ode to say that although the recipient doesn’t like roses, she will take these to her grave. Romanticism is not dead, but apparently good taste is. For US$400 a night one would expect some luxury rather than stuffed toys.

The location is incredible. Tucked away amongst the mountains, it is an amazing place to relax and unwind. There are are also great hiking trails all around.

This is a lovely place that feels like a home. It is Warmly and beautifully furnished. The room and bathroom are very big and pleasant. The mountain views from the rooms are as good as many of the lookout points in Alishan. The breakfast and dinner is elaborately prepared almost like a Michelin Star restaurant. The owners treated us like a friend that is staying with them.

The house was absolutely terrific in every aspect. Quiet, clean, big rooms, focus to details, lots of personal details in every room, breakfast and dinner was magnificent in taste and serving, not only tasty but delivery . The family who owns the house and several tea plantations in 3 rd generation were extremely friendly and helpful. Our expectations were exceeded by far and if I could give more than 10 points, I would do. We should have even considered to stay there for a few nights and commute every day to Alishan mountain on the top for 30 minutes.

Sunrise Yunqi Teahouse had such amazing views. When we arrived, the first thing we did was taking photos at the front of the hotel, instead of checking in 😂. The owner was super lovely and patiently waited for us to finish. The place was huge and clean, so was our room. The whole place was nicely decorated, with poems displayed everywhere - you can tell they put a lot of heart into this place that’s more than a hotel, but rather a show of their love of love and respect for the guests. I also highly recommend booking dinner/breakfast with them - they again put so much heart into serving us with the best possible experience. This guesthouse is such a gem and a great find on our Taiwan trip!

The property is set in a stunning location with views of the mountains and tea fields. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets from our room. It’s clean and comfortable. The hosts are so kind and generous. We loved the afternoon tea and breakfast was delicious.

A massive room with great view; Beautiful building; Breakfast was great and you can also have dinner there if you request it ahead which was amazing. Gorgeous and quiet atmosphere. Very friendly host.

No door to the bathroom so you might not want to share the room with someone other than your long-term partner. There are two roads that lead to the entrance and they both have some pretty sketchy parts so if you are a nervous driver or have a very big car, it might not be for you.

Where to start....? A magical place, whose recipe for success takes in a breathtaking location, incredible hosts, and superb facilities.

That we didn't plan to stay here longer. Next time!

The small family running the teahouse were so friendly and welcoming. The teahouse itself were full of little personal handwritten quotes and touches that made you really feel at home!!! The spread of food was very generous and high quality! In many ways this place exceeds even some of the big named five star hotels in a big city!

Family home with 4 guest rooms. Excellent hosts with attention to every detail to ensure comfort of the guests. We arrived late (after dinner) and it was dark and raining heavily. Hosts came out to greet us with umbrellas and took our luggage to the rooms. Breakfast next morning was excellent and we could not finish. Host packed the balance with extra homemade bread for us to eat during our journey. House and rooms are amazing, comfortable and luxurious. Room rate is steep, but highly recommend stay for special occasion(s).

Advance information with photos of the house showing sunrise and sunset would be helpful for guests who are new to Alishan area and weather. Our family of four (adults) were undecided whether to wake up early the next morning to go back into Alishan Natl Park to take the train to see the sunrise, as weather was uncertain with rains. We also missed the opportunity to witness a rare sunset moment at the BnB when weather cleared and sun came out with rainbow.

We had a very relaxing stay. The property and room were tranquil and spacious. There was so much food during meals and snacks / ramen in the room. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. When we said we needed to buy tea as gifts, he let us try multiple teas and gave us helpful tips to purchase tea at their family’s store in Alishan.

An absolutely lovely family-run guest house with impeccable rooms and stunning views over mountains and tea estates.

This is a beautiful home and our hosts are the most welcoming and friendly people. It was such a treat to spend time there. The home cooked food was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

The owner go out of his way to make sure that i have a comfortable stay. The accommodation itself was very spacious with the beautiful surroundings. Tea and food are very delicious! Overall,a very impressive stay.

The location is very scenic situated on a hill side surrounded by tea and coffee plants. The room was clean, large and very comfortable with modern amenities. The home cooked food was sensational and delicious. The host are very welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to make my stay as best as possible.

the complete experience from views, to lodging to meals to exchanges with hosts are full of joy and attention to excellence while keeping it very real and warm. there’s love in the house and one can feel it instantly.
