We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property in Munroe Island, Kollam. The property has a wonderful view and a beautifully maintained garden, which makes the whole place feel peaceful and relaxing. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the host was very friendly and welcoming. There is also convenient parking available for both cars and bikes. The rooms are couple-friendly and provide a comfortable and private atmosphere. The complimentary morning breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here. The peaceful surroundings, cleanliness, friendly hospitality, and beautiful property made our stay truly memorable. Highly recommended for couples and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Munroe Island! ❤️

A perfect staycation at Mundro Garden Homestay. Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of Munroe Island, the stay was comfortable, the hospitality was heartwarming, and every moment felt like home away from home. I stayed Munroe island three days alone , the host whole family are very kind and so friendly, they made great meals for me , organized the canoeing activity, I am happy with my stays . Room’s also comfy with strong AC and fan , I do like all environment surrounding lots huge plants and trees .

Extreme climate might causes power cut :( ,especially AC, that’s kinda tricky although it will be solve eventually.

Tucked away in a peaceful side street well away from the main road, the property is a 15 minute auto ride from the railway station. The room has plenty of space, a classic Indian bathroom, and a gorgeous terrace to eat breakfast on. The food made by the homestay is absolutely delicious and highly recommended! The owners are also incredibly helpful - they quickly assisted me before our trip and helped us arrange everything during our stay. The early morning backwaters tour is 100% worth it! I can't speak highly enough of the homestay, you won't regret it :)

We felt very comfortable in this homestay. The room was very spacious, and we were served a wonderful idli breakfast on the lovely terrace. The location is very quiet, and most things are easily accessible on foot. The host family is very kind and helpful. It was also great that they organized the tours we wanted, even though we were really last-minute. For example, we went on a shakara ride the first evening and a canoe trip with a family member the next morning.

L'unica cosa migliorabile se proprio devo trovare qualcosa è che nella mia stanza non arrivava bene il segnale wifi. Ma immagino perché fosse un pochino distaccata dall'edificio principale.

L’hospitalité et la disponibilité de nos hôtes! Le repas était juste fabuleux et le petit déjeuner aussi ! Le meilleure que nous ayons mangé en étant 13 jours en Inde! C’est très agréable sur la petite terrasse. La chambre est spacieuse et nous avons beaucoup apprécié que celle ci soit rafraîchi avant notre arrivée. On a adoré la promenade en canoë et que vous ayez tout organisé ! La balade est magique, féerique ❤️ Et merci pour les vélos pour aller voir le coucher du soleil ! Munroe Island est vraiment un village authentique et paisible et j’espère qui le restera !

Firstly thank you to Subin and Deepa for being warm, kind, and fantastic hosts. Good clean, comfortable rooms, and excellent home cooked food. Great location for exploring Munro. Subin arranged for us to take the sunrise canoe tour which was excellent. Fantastic stay, and wished to have stayed longer..would highly recommend

Amazing hosts, delicious breakfast and dinner. Deepa and her husband were so warm and friendly! We had a lovely stay.

Delightful family, extremely welcoming and helpful. We ate dinner at the homestay on the first night and breakfast was provided. They gave us good tips for places to see - don’t miss the „special lemonade“ stall, Deepa will tell you how to get there. The sunrise boat trip was a highlight.

Water pressure came and went but not a major issue as we could always use the bucket if the shower didn’t flow.

Our hosts were lovely people, really helpful and friendly. Deepa & Subin make a great partnership behind this lovely homestay. Everything from booking trips to making some great suggestions to enhance our time there. Meals were great - beautiful home cooking. The A/C and fan worked well

There was no hot water....but we were so hot & sweaty, a cool shower was great! The bed linen was a duvet - perhaps a single sheet may have been better to sleep under to cut down the use of the A/C?

This is one of the calm and serene homestay. The hosts were exceptional in dealing with the customers. They have sent me all the trains schedules before the journey. Every query they have answered patiently. Welcoming was also sweet. Dinner we ordered was good. To be frank we went with no expectations, but turned out to be one of the best. Thank you for making us feel home away home.

We spent three nights at the Mundro Garden Homestay and felt very well looked after throughout. The hosts Subin and Deepa were incredibly friendly and easy to get on with, truly a lovely family. They arranged a sunrise canoe ride for us as well as arranging kayaking around the mangroves, a tuk tuk to the local train station when we left, and even offered to arrange for a tuk tuk to collect us when we got caught in the rain! Oh, and we also rented bikes from them for a day, which I'd recommend. The home cooked breakfasts provided were great and we can definitely recommend the delicious evening meals as well, also cooked in house by Deepa's mother. On top of this, the room we stayed in was lovely and clean, wifi was great and we were even given a list of local conveniences and points of interest when we arrived, which was really helpful. Thoroughly recommended for anyone visiting Munroe Island!

I think everything about the stay I loved it. Me and my pratner we both loved the family who hosted us..and so beautiful I really felt home and the home food was great and the host's dad took us for canoeing through the backwaters was beauriful very beautiful also they helped us so much with everything our next destination transportation too very helpful treated us as our own. Will definitely be back and if u are looking to stay please do u are choosing the right place..🫶❤️

There is nothing we didn't lile its just we visited kerela at the hottest time was the room was bit humid..but its has nothing to do with the stay the weather was very hot so All good...stay was perfect...ambienece was perfect...Family was the vest. ❤️

Little secret on Monroe Island. Peaceful hidden in the garden, nicely decorated and clean. We made a trip in the canals with grandfather which we absolutely recommend! Diner very tasteful and Deepa and family are wonderful people. They have the gift to make you feel happy ;-)! We cycled after a good night sleep further with sweet memories of Mundro Garden Homestay!

The delicious food we had at diner time (just try the paneer butter masala and pollichathu fish, it is fantastic) and at breakfast. The kindness of the hosts and their family ! The uncle of the hosts took my friends and me to a “canoe” tour in the backwaters and it was a wonderful moment of life !!

Deepa and Subin were fantastic hosts, incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made delicious home-cooked food for breakfast and dinner which we ate in their household table. They arranged a canoe drip, provided bikes for us and helped out with anything else we would need. Very quiet and tranquil location not far from the railway station. Lovely clean room with bathroom, fan and AC if you choose it.

Probably our mistake as the pictures are shown, but we hadn’t realised which room we had booked - ours was the more basic room not in the main guesthouse area on the pictures. The only small point was that there was not really an outside space to sit and relax.

The hosts were so nice and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere so peaceful. They offer delicious homemade meals. They also offer boating activities if you want.

We had a wonderful time staying here. Munroe island is incredibly peaceful but Deepa, Subin and their whole family made this experience even more special. The food was fantastic, the sunrise canoe tour was truly our favourite experience in Kerala yet. The room was clean, comfortable and private - this was the perfect stay in Munroe. Deepa and Subin were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them and their son Adi who was an absolute bundle of joy.

We can’t fault anything about this experience, it was magic.

Our stay at Mundro Garden Homestay was amazing. Deepa and her family were so welcoming and kind. We were always greeted with a smile and a positive attitude. The room was very comfortable and clean and was located in a nice quiet, private corner of the garden. The table and chairs outside offered a great space to relax and eat meals. The homestay offers bicycle rental at a very reasonable 200 rupees per day. The food prepared every day was amazing! Everything we ate was delicious, and we enjoyed trying all of the local Keralan dishes that Deepa and her family made. You must also take the boat tour, it really showcases the beauty of the island. Overall, we absolutely love this homestay and will definitely return if we come back to Kerala!

Canoeing with her father for the sunset, it was amazing. .. Deepa is a chatterbox, she told all the stories of Munroe Island. We are the listeners. She clarified our doubt too. Deepa was super friendly and welcoming. We had a nice long chat about all sorts of things, She is interested in getting to know her guests, which makes the homestay all the better. The room was pleasant, and it seemed like fairly good value. The food was really tasty, and I was offered more if I wanted it, so very generous portions. Deepa arranged for her father to take me on a canoe trip, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Munroe island is a great place and it gets even better when you stay with Deepa and her family at Mundro Garden Homestay. The place is clean and very well located, the food she offers is just delicious and you can go for sunrise and sunset walks quite easily as Deepa takes care of everything for you! She even took me to visit a temple in the town and taste the best soda on the island! I'd definitely recommend staying here for your holiday!

What a lovely place and what fun we had. Deepa is just wonderful and we had so many laughs. The place was super clean and really pretty; the food was lovely and the cooking class was fun.

We had such a wonderful time at Mundro Garden Homestay - the best place we have stayed at in India! Deepa is a very friendly, approachable and caring host who wants to make sure you have an amazing experience. Our room.was comfortable, we opted to have all of our meals there as she and her mum are fantastic cooks - it was great having home cooked Kerelan food. She organised a sunset canoe trip for us as well as a Shikara boat the following day to explore the peaceful backwaters. You can walk round the village and really get a flavour for local life. To top it all off, we did a fantastic cooking class with Deepa.She helped us with our onward travel by sharing train times and ordering us a tuk tuk to the station. Nothing was too much. This is an absolute MUST stay and will be the highlight of your holiday. Thank you Deepa for having us and also to your lovely family.

The family were very welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast lunch and dinner at the Homestay which were delicious and generous portions. We also did the canoeing trip at sunset which was very tranquil.

A lovely warm and friendly family who looked after us with yummy breakfasts. Deepa took us out to the local temple celebration of 100’s females making offerings with candles. Beautiful! The rooms were super spacious and beds really comfy. We took a canoe trip with Deepa’s father which was nice. Her mother is sweet and helpful. Lovely family. Shame we didn’t get to meet Deepa’s son. The surrounding area is quiet and calm, a real relaxing place to be. We loved Munroe Island!

In a beautiful location of Monroe, it is so peaceful and filled with kind people. The property is clean, each with its own terrace and the option to have AC. Deepa was the most incredible host, she makes incredible home cooked local food and took us to the temple where she told us stories. This was definitely an experience we will not forget.

I have been travelling for one full year now and this was hands down my favourite stay of the whole trip! This was all thanks to the host Deepa. From the moment me and my mom entered the homestay until the moment we left we felt at home and couldn't have been more comfortable. We were welcomed with the warmest smile every time we entered! Deepa is such an open and warm hearted person and really does everything in her power to help the guests as much as she can. She cooked delicious meals for us and recommended the best places to stay! She even came with us on the canoeing trip and made sure we had an incredible time. Her son and mother who are also staying at the house are super sweet as well! The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean and tidy. Wifi was good. Location was great. We can't recommend this place enough, thank you from the both of us Deepa for such a nice stay! ❤️

The room was very clean and spacious with a lovely terrace area, table and seating. The large bed was the most comfortable we have had in India. Our host was very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Our sunrise canoe ride was magical, the highlight of our stay.

When booking this place, I knew that I would want a break from the city life (From Kochi then Trivandrum) and it was exactly that. My stay was only 4 days, but by the end, I was hoping I could live there forever! Deepa is the host, and is supported by her family members who were always smiling, kind, and helpful. They prepared meals, planned adventures, and gave suggestions on how to spend the time. The space was clean and very quiet. I spent a lot of time reading or walking around the island viewing the backwaters - most of the people would smile and greet with a happy hello. The food was so delicious - I highly recommend the clams!

Hospitality of host Deepa and her family were good. Neat and cleanly maintained property. Breakfast was good. We opted for veg food and one day we got Doasa and next day puttu (Kerala food). They will also provide Lunch and Dinner with advance information. They will also arrange for Boating/Cannoying.

Located in a place where approaching road is bit narrow, but thats not an issue of concern.

I had a great time at Mundro Garden Homestay. The caretaker, Deepa Chechi, was extremely friendly. I stayed here with my family. We used two rooms, and both of them were clean and well-kept. The dinner and breakfast provided were homemade and tasty. Especially the karimeen fry was super tasty. Stay provides sufficient parking space for a car. Deepa Chechi also helped us arrange the canoeing ride. My family and I are very satisfied after staying here and recommend others to try staying here.
