Reviewed Sep 17, 2026recently stayed in this apartment and overall had a very positive experience. The views were exceptional, making the stay feel relaxing and scenic throughout. The apartment was well equipped, with all the essential kitchen appliances available, and both bathrooms had good, functional showers, which was appreciated.
There were a couple of areas that could be improved. Some of the kitchen utensils are worn and would benefit from being replaced, and certain parts of the apartment would benefit from a deeper clean to bring it up to the same standard as the rest of the space.Despite these minor issues, the apartment offered a comfortable stay with fantastic views, and with a few updates it could be truly outstanding

Mould in main bathroom and extensive rust on shower curtain rail, upstairs shower holder broken, no ironing board cover, laminate peeling on some kitchen units, smoke alarm with no batteries hanging by a flex from hallway ceiling, towels were old and some were threadbare, limited crockery available ( 3 dinner plates for 4 people), some crockery was chipped, no markings on hob rings to indicate how to turn on a particular ring, no temperature markings on an old oven. No instructions on where to dispose of rubbish. On our arrival owner was difficult to contact ( he said his phone was on silent).

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026The location was perfect, just a couple of minutes drive from Dunfanaghey and accross the road from Portnablagh. The view out onto the golf course, and Killahoey beach was absolutely spectacular! The apartment is on the 3rd floor, but there's a lift if you need it. There was plenty of parking, and it was very easy to find.
There are definitely a few things to sort out within the property, but after pointing them out to the host, he assured me they were being sorted. The place needs a proper lick of paint, and the upstairs shower head was broken. Having said that, the shower downstairs (albeit in a bath), was excellent!!

The apartment was very cold, with limited heating on when we arrived, but no way to control it ourselves. We arrived back to a freezing cold apartment. Two of the visiting party refused to stay, and went elsewhere in the middle of the night, they were so cold. This ruined an otherwise great visit to Donegal. The landing lightbulb didn't work and we had to change it ourselves using another light. There was soap in the shower with pubic hair attached, so we didn't eat or wash at the property... I would question the thoroughness of the cleaning. There were also a lot of personal belongings in the property, such as clothes and work lanyards, so I feel like someone moved out for the night to allow the apartment to be rented to visitors. Avoid!

Reviewed May 25, 2025We stayed in the apartment for two nights and used it as a base for sightseeing. The apartment is very spacious, clean with amazing sea views. Oisin was very attentive, checking to see if we got into the apartment ok and rang the next day to make sure everything was ok.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2024The location in Portnablagh overlooking the sea is wonderful. You could hear the waves from the apartment. It's walkable to the harbour where there is a new sauna at the pier. Walkable also to the Cove restaurant. A 3 minute drive into Dunfanaghy itself. The apartment is well equipped with a washing machine and full kitchen. Oisin was helpful and proactively contacted us to check everything was ok.
The decor in the living room is somewhat tired. The upstairs shower is broken and the upstairs toilet makes a loud noise when flushed, I think there's an issue with the pipes.

The apartment was difficult to find, but the owner helpfully talked us through the driving instructions when we called for assistance. While we understand that the usual cleaning service didn't show and the owner had to do some last-minute cleaning before we arrived, we didn't enjoy having the owner's personal clutter stacked in the corners. There were also a couple of leaky faucets.

Reviewed May 25, 2024The view is lovely and true you do want to sit and look out at it. The property is really adjacent to Portnablagh and really too far to walk from Dunfanaghy but there are taxis available.
As a group of 4 ladies together for a reunion we needed 4 beds and one bed/bedroom was not suitable at all. It was a futon that when opened out had two levels. We packed it with towels but it was most uncomfortable. We pursued recompense and owner promised this but did not follow true. I would say accomodation has two bedrooms, not three. We found property had a lot of owners stuff especially in the kitchen cupboards which was a bit of nuisance and it could have been cleaner. Property could be overhauled though the low price probably reflects this. Was disappointed.

It is close to shops, restaurants, church and local amenities. The host was incredibly helpful and easily contacted if need be. Our host Oisín was so friendly and ultra patient!! I couldn't find the place, some glitch with Google maps, so he stayed on the phone with me until I pulled up at the front door, much appreciated! Would highly recommend this place as a great base to explore beautiful Dùn na nGall, you will be driving to explore but what's on your doorstep is pretty impressive

Reviewed Sep 26, 2022Very spacious and comfortable. Balcony with ideal view at end of the day. Proximity to nearby restaurant. Nearby Killahoey beach. Nearby town for provisions. All mod cons available, great bathrooms, elevator to third floor, parking available.
Kitchen hygiene to be slightly improved, just a better clean will be fine. Have a bin for rubbish and one for recycling.

While the property had all the essentials for your stay I would have liked WIFI although this was clearly stated in the description.
