Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Wonderful hosts Lars and Karin. Very eager to help us with anything. The appartement (both of them) with a view over the river valley. Outside is a couple of benches and a table. If needed there is a grill at your disposal, also a drying cabinet in case of wet clothing. Inside you won't miss anything, even a washingmachine. We were offered to use their canoe. Lars drove us 10 kms up the river and promised to pick us up again at arrival, and he did. We loved wandering at top plateau at the top of LIndvallen (there are two lifts open during the summer). It is however possible to walk uphill as we did since the climb is 'only' approx. 250m vertical. We wanted to visit the other tops nearby, but ended up crossing the border and driving to Trysil in Norway 1 hours drive, some 70-ish kms away. Free parking during summer both in the Sälen-area and Trysil (but you need to register at the parking app 'Aimo' ). At Trysil there are two lifts going near the top. Very popular for mountainbike trails downhill. It is worth walking the last bit up to the 'peak' and having the grand view 360 degrees. Very popular for mountainbike trails downhill. Svårt att laga mat i det lilla pentryt med bara två plattor då stekpanna och kastrull inte fick plats samtidigt. Funkar bra för frukost. Sängarna var väldigt mjuka.

She was recommending me places to visit and helpful in any way. + Great accommodation, clean and comfortable with everything I needed. + Location with a very nice view from the garden, a bit outside of Sälen in a very peaceful neighbourhood. + Parking at the house. + Laundry possible. + Mountain area from Sälen easily reachable by car with nice options for hiking.

A very nice small but well-furnished and well-equipped appartment with everything you need for a short or longer stay (bedclothes and towles on request for some extra money). Nice location in a calm housing area with a great view. The host was very kind and gave us a lot of helpful hints for hiking and sightseeing in the beautiful surrounding. When leaving, he gave us some very tasty tomatos from own cultivation :) Tack så mycket!
We have nothing to criticize. :)

Lars and Karen are super hosts, I felt like a member of the family, their were super friendly, ride me to a tour in the city, help me with preparations for my running, I couldn’t have more!

Reviewed Dec 11, 2022House is very beautiful and clean. Its awesome to wake up and see mountain right from your window! Owners are so very helpful and friendly. Is it close to nature and also to centrum, where there are shops and busses. Area is calm amd safe. 100% reccomend, would like to come back in summer season . Thank you Lars and Karin !
