Reviewed Sep 16, 2026The view is exactly as pictured (can be hit and miss sometimes) . Absolutely wonderful to sit outside and have a cuppa. The whole place is just lovely, in fact so good we stayed another night. Communication was excellent, lovely and clean and not a thing to complain about.

We had booked only 1 night. The power went off at 8am so no breakfast We checked out early and no one thought to check or apologize or explain When we asked around most people said it will be back on by 1pm, so it seemed planned. We were disappointed to cut our stay shorter than we intended.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Ships bell is in an excellent location, close to restaurants like chokka blockka(excellent seafood). Amazing view of the port. Our room was very comfortable having everything one would need for a short stay. For those that like partying abit, there is a bar with karaoke which sounded like a lot of fun also because of the rugby. Overall very enjoyable stay.

Reviewed Jul 1, 2026We stayed at Ships Bell St Francis Bay. I stayed for a weekend and my parents stayed for 10 days. We had such a wonderful time. Hanlie, Craig and Jeanine are such lovely people. I stayed in a studio unit and my parents and siblings stayed in the penthouse, the most beautiful, comfortable and luxurious place to stay for families. We enjoyed the space, the games, watching the soccer and enjoying the perfect holiday. The units are spotlessly clean and all amenities are there. My families had a wash machine, dishwasher, airfryer, ironing board, iron just everything. The views from the units are so spectacular, refreshing and peaceful. It was such an amazing time and we actually do not have enough words to thank them enough. May God bless them always and forever.

The building is in dire need of an upgrade. Tiles missing and broken. Really gave a dilapidated feeling even before reaching the flat and entering or leaving the elevator. The flat itself was clean, and the bed was comfortable, although even there a bit of renovation would go a long way. Very minimal kitchen utensils.

The best prawns and oysters at 2 of the best restaurants in the Port. Prawns @.MAUROS... Bella bellisimo. And, oysters @CHOKA BLOCK . Absolutely full. HIGHLIGHT. the 🦭 Seal Cape Point Lighthouse. A must to visit and eat at the restaurant.

Reviewed Apr 9, 2026I had a wonderful stay at Ships Bell and could not have asked for a better experience. The apartment was lovely, very private and incredibly peaceful. It was the perfect escape to recharge and refresh. The harbour views are absolutely stunning and waking up to that scenery every morning was something special. The host was genuinely kind and welcoming, and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The location is fantastic, right by the harbour with everything you need within reach. The bed was super comfy, slept like a baby.😅 If you are looking for a quiet and serene retreat away from the hustle and bustle, Ships Bell is exactly what you need. I will definitely be back!
Most of food retailers don't deliver, only Spar. No Uber eats, no Mr. D, No bolt or Uber. These are the things you need to prepare for beforehand. There are local taxis, which are quite steep because of the lack of competition I assume. However, all these are challenges with the area, not the host or the apartment itself.

Liebes Booking Com Team, Nach der Buchungsbestätigung erfährt man erst das diese Anlage nur Bargeld akzeptiert. Nach dem einchecken muss erst mal Bargeld besorgt werden.Nach mehren Übergabeterminen zwecks Bezahlung haben ein kurz vor der Abreise endlich jemanden erreicht um unsere Zahlung zu tätigen.. Bis dahin wurden zwei Termine kurzfristig verschoben was im Urlaub sehr ärgerlich ist. Warum ändern sie diese Art des bezahlen nicht??

Reviewed Feb 28, 2026We stayed on the first floor of the building, nearby was a pub with loud music 2 nights in row until midnight, so quite noisy , in the early morning coffee shop underneath our terrace people talking loudly The doors of the building were banging by each guests entering so need to do something In the flat no plugs near the bed and no bedside lamp not convenient at all for reading or charging phone Base of the mattress needs to be changed it was cracking all the time A curtain in the bathroom will be necessary to block the light in the bedroom

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026Love the views, location and the novelty of staying at the harbour with the sounds of seagulls, boats the the water lapping the docks. The access to the private beach a short walk away is a nice tough and worth visiting. Convenient location and close to a great restaurant.
The sound of the boats and crew loading up at 05h30 in the morning is an issue. No aircon in the units and there is also a pub and restaurant right next door to the units that can have rowdy parties till late. We were kept up past midnight by a disco in the Italian restaurant and karaoke and loud patrons at the pub. Not ideal when you have young kids with you.

Firstly, no breakfast contrary to the AD for the apartment and the coffee sachets and other coffee making like milk, sugar provided for an apartment that was going to be occupied by a couple was just too limited and stingy.
