Reviewed Aug 17, 2026We had such a lovely and peaceful stay. The place was quiet and tranquil, and our cottage was quaint, cosy and surprisingly spacious enough for us and our toddler. We especially loved having enough space for our little one to run around and explore, as it made the stay so much more enjoyable as a family. ❤️ One thing we found very amusing, though, was how low the toilet was! 😂 Let’s just say we had to mentally prepare ourselves for a very deep squat every time! Definitely gave us a good laugh. 😅 Overall, a lovely little getaway and a peaceful place to unwind. 🌿🏡

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026Wonderful place in which to relax and do your own thing. Plenty of space with kitchen, dining and lounge area separated from the bedroom. Excellent well-equipped kitchen which made it possible to cook properly inside when weather wasn't nice enough to use braii. A kettle braii was provided to use instead of the fire pit since it was quite windy again on the second evening of our stay. Beautifully furnished annex to the main house: comfortably cushioned couches, interesting pictures and pretty floral arrangement on the big sideboard. Celeste, the owner showed us around the kitchen garden & very kindly saw that we were provided with vegetables, freshly laid eggs and a beautifully packaged flower & leaf salad which formed the basis for breakfast & 2 evening meals. Both the gardener and housekeeper were friendly & helpful. There are maps of the Karuma Farm Estate & we enjoyed exploring the illustrated routes. Celeste also provided us with helpful suggestions of venues for wine tasting & lunch & places to visit en-route to our next destination.

Een AC in de tweede slaapkamer was fijn geweest omdat het een warme zomernacht was.

Reviewed Nov 8, 2025It was a super cute location and the chalet was incredible!! Perfect little home. I wish we had booked for more than a night as a stop over on our journey because it was so peaceful!! The view of the mountains was stunning and the rooms were spacious and comfortable!
The couch was a bit small and the toilets are quite low to the ground. The bedroom with 2 single beds also gets quite hot and theres no air-conditioning like in the main bedroom.

We appreciated her friendliness, allowing us to arrive earlier on Friday and check out later on Sunday, and the use of a 2nd cottage with a double bed. We enjoyed the walking trails. Celeste contributed to making the weekend special for my partner's mother who celebrated her 79th birthday. We are looking forward to many weekend breaks with our friends at Karuma farm. A bonus was the farm market on Saturday on a neighboring farm.

The bedroom needs more light. I couldn't work lout how to light the gas hob, but maybe that was just Me.

Absolutely beautiful setting from the cottages covered stoep area - it was so peaceful to have breakfast in a secure and well kept garden while the birds were chirping away. For a family of 4, the cottage was more than spacious enough, with facilities to cater for both my kids and my wife. The host, Celest, made such a concerted effort to meet us. I'm looking forward to booking this place again. Bathroom facilities and showers are clean with good water pressure and heat. Great place to do an mtb trail or a road cycle as well.
I have no complaints about this place.
