Håkøya Lodge

Nous avons tout aimé du Håkøya Lodge. Les propriétaires, Bjørn et Nina, sont très sympathiques et nous ont fait d’excellentes recommandations pour Tromsø. Le lieu, en pleine nature, est magnifique et paisible. Le lodge est impeccable, propre et confortable. Un lieu idéal pour se poser et découvrir autant les magnifiques fjords que la charmante ville de Tromsø.

La localización y las vistas eran estupendas, la casa muy bonita también, todo estaba muy limpio, había todo lo que necesitábamos, el propietario era muy atento y amable!

It was a clean, cozy lodge with character. I loved those designer lamp and light! Nina and Bjørn were attentive and always answered my questions right away.

Since it was Easter and the weather being rather harsh, we ended up staying in and cooking at the lodge quite a bit. It would have been nice to have a microwave oven, a freezer, an ironing board and a TV.

Bjørn was the perfect host, and was around to greet us despite our flight being delayed. The property is in a fantastic location , a short drive from the airport/city centre, with supermarkets nearby. The property itself is so nice, very clean, warm , and has all the amenities you need. very comfy beds. the views from it are spectacular. we visited in January and were lucky enough to see the northern lights on multiple occasions , either on a snowy walk down the road , or even in bed out the window! Bjørn was very helpful on recommendations when we wanted to take a scenic drive to Sommerøy and told us about and amazing cafe to visit. we feel very lucky to have spent 4 nights here, it really is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. thankyou ☺️

Every single thing was simply spectacular. The accommodation was utterly spotless, the quality of everything from the fittings, to the beds, to all equipment in the kitchen, was outstanding. Nina and Bjorn were wonderful and the scenery was honestly magical I cannot recommend this property enough. We loved our special time at Hakoya Lodge!

Simply amazing. Expect total peace here, the hosts being absolutely lovely and the surroundings gorgeous. This is a little gem of comfort and joy, and we hope it remains exactly so.

Great lodge and location, very nice welcome. Very comfortable beds and living area decorated with very nice taste.

Would be more comfy to have a second small 2 seats sofa if we are more than 2 persons to replace the long seat that has no back support.

Beautiful house and lovely location able to spot the northern lights from right there

Bjorn was absolutely wonderful. The space was immaculate. When I couldn't figure out how to turn on the fireplace he came to help. He refilled the wood in the firepit outside every night. Bjorn was an incredible host and this is our favorite place my wife and I have ever stayed.

Not much. Everything was wonderful.

EVERYTHING! Best apartment of booking.com EVER! It has all the amenities and utilities you could possibly need, the kitchen is very modern and the WiFi is super fast. The surroundings are beautiful and we got to see the incredible northern lights 3 nights out of 4! Also if you don’t want to rent a car, you can walk about 15-20 min and you can take a bus that leaves you in Tromsø. The closest grocery shop is also a bit more than 30 min on foot. And the hosts, Bjørn and Nina, couldn’t be any more lovely or welcoming, they even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens and lent us their snow shoes!!! Thanks again for everything! :)

I couldn’t name a single thing.

This lodge is an absolute gem hidden in Tromso. Everything was perfect from the lodge facilities, cleanliness, location on the cutest island (bonus point added for seeing the northern lights while there), to the kindness of the hosts. Communication was so smooth and we really felt at home. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Tromso. Thanks again for everything!

The property was fantastic!!! Everything you could need and more. The heating was amazing, you will never feel cold inside. It is so clean, modern and the bed was insanely comfortable. The fire outside was lovely, on two nights we saw the northern lights!! Bjorn our host was so lovely, gave us tips for our stay and was so welcoming! Thank you Bjorn & Nina!!

The overall quality of the lodge was exceptional. The facilities were excellent and the lodge was immaculate. Bjorn was an incredible host, and we couldn't have asked for a better setting. The polar night leant it self to some incredible scenery when the sun started to creep over the horizon on the island, and being twenty minutes away from central Tromso by car makes the lodge ideally placed. a 10/10 get away!

We loved everything. The space was great. Modern, comfortable and a quiet location. The hosts were superb. Very responsive to my million questions and offered good recommendation. Private patio with fire pit was the best.

It’s a little further out from town but just what we wanted. It was only a short drive for those who want more stores and restaurants though.

Very clean with all the necessary amenities (refrigerator, washer/dryer combo, microwave, oven, kitchen supplies); Shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower (only missing soap dispenser). Wi-Fi has good speed; free private parking; You get a partial water view (owners house has a water-front location) and a nice view of woods and patio space with heater.

The bedrooms are too small with twin-sized mattresses and small pillows which make it difficult for two adults to share comfortably.

Beautiful, arctic surroundings, we could use the entire polar day. The house was well-equipped, there was nothing missing for our family of 2+, 2yo and 5yo. Nice chats with the owners included in the price!

This is an exceptional property. It exceeded our expectations in every way! The hosts are fantastic! They went out of their way to help and make sure our stay was the best. The location was awesome. The apartment was modern yet comfortable. There isn’t enough room to say how great this was. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy Tromsø, do yourself a favor and book here!

Absolutely nothing. If I had to make a small recommendation, I’d say a mat for snowy shoes by the door. Just so it would get the rug wet by the door. But that’s so insignificant to the greatness of this place!

Everything was absolutely amazing ☺️ Nina and Björn are absolutely lovely and attentive hosts, we felt at home from the very first moment. The location of the flat is very idyllic, right on the fjord with the best view of the northern lights. We were greeted with a bottle of the best wine, freshly chilled beer and fresh eggs from the house's own chickens. The evenings can be spent cosily on the terrace by the fireplace - a big thank you to the two hosts Nina and Björn for everything.

The place is exceptionally georgeus. Beautiful and modern furnitures, full of everything you may possibly need. Great lighting and ambiance. Beds are extremely comfortable. Great choice for quite, scenic, in nature place seekers. Bonus: Warm, helpful, friendly and respectful host. We visit in a very snowy time. He cleaned the paths and our cars from the snow free of demand. He left some organic eggs from their chickens and also put few drinks to the fridge for us before we arrived.

A little bit far from the Tromso city center so if you dont have car, it would be hard to arrive and leave. Also, it can be challenging for the snow-inexperienced drivers to come and go to the place in snowy weathers.

Hakoya Lodge is an exceptional place. Before we arrived, we had read all previous very positive comments, but we did not expect it to be so great. The lodge is very comfortable, clean, tastefully and carefully designed, you have everything you may need available. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful, they gave us great hints where to make shopping, park the car in Tromso or where to drive to see northern lights. The nature around the lodge is stunning. The area is very beautiful and quiet but you are still ca. 15 minutes drive from Tromso city centre. We definitely would like to come back there!

Nothing, everything was great!

The property does not only look pretty but the functionalities in it were very well thought of. We caught glimpse of the northern lights from the backyard. Most importantly, Nina and Bjørn were fantastic host! We received good communication and useful information prior and throughout the stay.

A slightly bigger bed would definitely be a plus!

It’s a very beautiful house in a very private place. Owners are very hospitable and nice people.

Everything! The fire place added a nice cosy feel to the lounge area. The heated floors are great! The view from all the windows into the woods, stunning! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

Genuinely nothing!

The location of the cabin was gorgeous, away from the main area of tromso. The lodge is extremely well equipped with most things needed for our stay. Sadly the weather was not kind for our visit, but there was a beautiful outdoor seating area to enjoy the surrounds. Our hosts were fantastic with information, both before and during our stay. We loved our stay and if we ever go back to Noway, we would definitely visit again!

The only thing I would say is that we wished the beds were a little bigger as they seemed a little smaller than what we are used to in Australia.

The cabin was well equipped, stylish & comfortable in the most amazing setting, with extremely helpful & friendly hosts. Already planning on returning during the winter for a different scenery.

A beautiful, stylish & fully equipped cabin with extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Cute dogs, cats and chickens in the yard, ready to make friends with guests. Tromsø area is full of great opportunities for outdoor activities and in the historic & nice city centre almost everything is achievable on foot. Our warm recommendations!

Great location … everything new, clean and modern. Hosts were absolutely great … thanks for the treats in the fridge on arrival and to the chickens for their great job :-)

The weather :-(

Absolutely everything. The lodge is very well located in a quiet place at 15min from Tromso. The apartment is big, very clean, nice furnished and warm. Björn and Nina are the most amazing hosts you could ever find. When visiting again Tromso, we will definitely be back at Hakoya Lodge. ;)

Everything was just perfect.

From the start to the end of our stay here everything was PERFECT. The lodge is warm and well equipped, beds very comfortable, the host are very friendly and they been there for us anytime we need them and looked very well after us making our stay enjoyable. Being on a small island but not far from the city you can enjoy the sillent and connect with nature. We been able to see northern lights from the lodge and was amazing. The host has a small chicken farm and we had fresh eggs. Kitchen well equipped, dishwasher and even a washing machine ready to go if needed. We want to come back in Tromsø during the summer and we will definitely choose Hakøya Lodge again. Thank you for having us!

Fantastic location on a remote island, a 25 minute drive from the Tromso airport. Beautifully designed interior. This is such a great alternative to a busy hotel downtown. The hosts' helpfulness is off the scale, including de-snowing the 1km+ access road at 1am to make it easier for me to get home in heavy weather after a northern lights trip.

Nothing really. The remote location means that you need to rent a car and be willing to drive in snowy conditions in winter to go shopping for food etc. But for me, that was well worth it.

Great host! Amazing facilities - feels like you’re in your own home, with a hotel feel!

The Håkøya Lodge is spotlessly clean and very, very comfortable. The kitchen had everything one needs to make meals and the hosts had excellent advice and tips for everything from where to get the best groceries to where to see the Northern Lights.

It's a gorgeous apartment amidst nature. The hosts are immensely friendly and helpful. You get the impression that they try very hard to make the place as comfortable as possible. The same applies to any help you might need during your stay (for example, advice, friendly small-talk or help around the house). Hard to imaginy why anyone would ever visit Norway and not consider staying at Håkøya Lodge. It is perfect way to experience the beauty of the country. It's by far the best lodge we've ever visited and we can highly recommend it.
