Ilmola resort by the river

Fantastisk flott plass like ved elven, vi fisket å badet i elven og tok en varm sauna etterpå, en magisk opplevelse. Huset var veldig fint og velutstyrt, rent og pent, med en flott utsikt. Kan absolutt anbefales. Familie med to voksene og ett barn på tur. Takk for et fint opphold.

Mahtava paikka ja maisemat Kemijoen rannalla. Aiemmin oltu rantamökissä, nyt päätalossa. Tilat loistavat. Sauna erittäin hyvä.

A lovely place, a lovely house. Everything is very comfortable, clean and pleasant, and the atmosphere is very homely. We give it top marks!

Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped

Die Unterkunft ist sehr umfassend ausgestattet. Von Gewürzen über Küchenutensilien, Shampoos, Seifen und Conditioner bis hin zu Büchern und Spielen ist mehr als nötig vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und das Haus schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Haus liegt auf einem Gelände mit weiteren Gebäuden. Die meisten sind unbewohnt, in etwa 50m Entfernung direkt am Fluss ist eine weitere Ferienwohnung. Von den Gästen bekommt man aber nichts mit. Wir konnten bei Piia Schneeschuhe ausleihen und ausgehend von der Unterkunft wunderschöne Touren unternehmen. Piia war immer schnell und gut erreichbar. Sie hat sogar extra Thermoskannen für unsere Wanderungen bereitgestellt, weil wir sie danach fragten.

Einige Verbesserungsvorschläge haben wir: - einige Spülschwämme und Bürsten waren leider durch Haare und Essensreste sehr dreckig. Wir haben sie in der Spülmaschine gereinigt, allerdings wäre es hygienischer den Gästen zumindest neue Schwämme anzubieten - das Zimmer mit dem Kamin ist wunderschön, wenn es allerdings als Schlafzimmer genutzt wird, fehlt etwas Privatsphäre. Es gibt zwar einen Vorhang, um die Glastür zu verdecken, allerdings nur auf einer Seite, sodass die andere Hälfte der Glastür frei bleibt. Hier wäre ein zweiter oder größerer Vorhang sinnvoll. - uns ist während des Aufenthaltes leider das zur Verfügung gestellte Feuerholz ausgegangen. Hier wäre eine Option zum Auffüllen schön gewesen, da der gemütliche Kamin mit ein Grund für die Buchung der Unterkunft war - das Zimmer mit den zwei Einzelbetten grenzt direkt an die Sauna an und ist daher sehr warm. Hier kann man nicht viel machen, ist aber gut vorab zu wissen

Hôtesse très accueillante et aux petits soins . Logement dans un très bel environnement , calme et tranquille . Une vue imprenable la rivière, sur les aurores boréales et la maison est très bien équipée.

S’il faut trouver un point négatif, maison très et voir trop chauffée . Nous n’avons pas fait de feu de cheminée même sous -22 degrés ☺️

Käisime perega Lapimaal jõuluvanal külas ja peatusime Ilmola majutuses. Kõik oli lihtsalt suurepärane. Majja jõudes oli soe ja kodune tunne ja kõik vajalik oli olemas. Kaunid nõud, et katta laud ja pehmed voodid, et magada magusat und. Lisaks mõnus saun ja õues lumi millesse hüpata 😃 Aitähh perenaine Piia! Jäime väga rahule! Soovitame kindlasti ka kõigile, kes Lapimaale sõidavad!

A fantastic property! Absolutely everything was so lovely - the views, the swimming, the warmth, the space, the kitchen & appliances, the comfy beds, the sunsets, the peace & quiet…. Everything!! And Piia was an excellent host

Having to leave!

Piia is a wonderfull host. Her place is amazing and so cozy. I stayed there with my family for 3 days and we felt like home. The place is so clean and have all the equipements needed for a great stay and also to cook. The location is charming and close to the river. You can even see northern lights from the patio. It's also close to the airport.

The location of the house is perfect. You could easily observe the northern lights from there.

The apartment was super cozy and clean. The owner was so helpful in every question She helped me out immediately. Perfect place to stay and have a relaxing time in Lappland.

A very large house and a beautiful view of the river

Really cozy house! The view is amazing. Kitchen is very well equipped

Perfect size and very clean. Location is great right next to the river. Nearest town for shopping is Kemi with 15 mins drive. Rovaniemi is about 1.5 hrs. The location is dark enough to see the Aurora if you are lucky like us. Definitely recommend.

Everything was great.

Very nice location next to old riverside farmhouse

Very very spacious and well-furnished house. It is equpped with everything you need for spending weekend on North: sauna, fireplace, stove (which can be used for heating), also all modern facilities as a side-by-side fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, drying machine, dishwaher, two toilets, modern TV, interent connection, two type of water supply (which is very important while you stay on North where -30 frost can freeze everything). House is well located: very far from any other houses - there is a total silent around, rahter far from road with a 1 car/hour traffic, and very picteresque view on Kemi river. Bonus - if you are fond of jumping in a snow after sauna, both entrance doors (main one and bedrom's) leads to nobody's eyes which keeps you privacy even outside :) Host is very responsible: repaired partial water supply outage very quickly and called to auto assistance sevices to find the solution for our frosted AdBlue :) Waiting for my next winter vacation to visit Lapland and this house again!

One minor drawback: sauna's stove rather weak for such big sauna and you need to wait to +80 cca 2 hours and +90 for half a day :) which is not a problem, becuase temperature shortage coulbe be compencated by steam - sauna lovers know :)

We really enjoyed our stay, the rooms are how they described, except the tv inside the master bedroom has been moved/removed. The sauna worked just fine, we used it every night. The view from the villa was so nice and we could walk on top of the frozen river as well. We managed to see the northern lights for 2 nights in a row.

The wifi was broken on the first night because of the previous customer, but the owner replaced it on the next morning. However, the wifi is still too slow for our group. We also had some difficulties to use the living room tv. We could not open Netflix app and at last we used the screen mirroring, because we did not find any HDMI cable to connect our laptop.
