Feels like you enter the flat through the bathroom. The kitchen equipment is great but it leaves very little working space. The bedding isn't great, very slippery . The electric blanket is a great extra but unfortunately the cord pokes you in the back, so we had to take it off.

We came at a time they were doing renovations and it was just noisy. The other thing was we had problems with water in the shower whenever we wanted to take a shower mostly there was no water we had to keep calling staff to help us with getting water in the shower room

WiFi was intermittent and had a relatively poor signal. Did not work well when sitting outside - water problems with shower. ... possible airlock caused it to splutter in the morning, with variable water pressure from zero to full blast

Lots of space , large bedrooms with a massive bathroom with bespoke shower, big kitchen with everything you need plus large lounge & separate dining room.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2026The Old School House was very conveniently located for the wedding we went to at a wine farm in the area - as away from the congestion of the Stellenbosch town centre. The cottage had all the amenities we needed and with its own garden too. I loved its history and character. Parking was secure and right in front of the cottage. The local cafe for brunch, and also a restaurant were walking distance away and both were superb.

Very little screened the bathroom from the rest of our room; people walking past the window outside could see the toilet if the curtains weren't closed. The hot plates were on top of a microwave that was located on a lower shelf. All very strange.

The room had no window or air conditioner. It was at the back of the building with a messy back yard. No allocated parking had to park far from room. Tiny prep bowl for dishes in kitchen and oversized basin in bathroom doesnt make sense. No instruction to use tv.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Lovely location with a beautiful view. The units have everything that you need and more. We were 5min from our congress venue and this was a real treat. The heater and electric blanket were very welcome with the cold weather!
The one unit was stuffy, and the carpet can do with a good vacuum. The Clyvias in the room was old and water in the vase discolored and smelly. I think a little personal touch and a good check before checking in will sort all of this out, otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Zeer slecht bed. Helemaal doorgelegen. Dringend aan vervanging toe. Gastvrouw niet vriendelijk. Geen vaatdoeken aanwezig in de keuken, alsook geen warm water. We hadden duidelijk een kinderbedje aangevraagd, dat is blijkbaar niet doorgekomen.

Reviewed Dec 8, 2025Ein bisschen verwirrend bezüglich der Bezahlung : Die Anzahlung (Hälfte) sollte online überwiesen werden (nicht über Booking), der Rest sollte vor Ort möglich sein mit ATM bzw bar. Ein paar Tage vorher sollte dann doch das gesamte Geld überwiesen werden (auch wieder nciht über booking). Wir haben dann gesagt, dass wir es vor Ort bar bezahlen werden. Bei Ankunft erzählte sie uns, dass sie das Geld morgens von unserem Konto abgezogen hat (das war dann eine andere Karte bzw Account von meinem Lebensgefährten, welche hier bei Booking angegeben war.). Schlussendlich war alles richtig, aber sehr wirr und undurchsichtig.

Spacious living area with aircon (much needed in summer) and a TV with Netflix etc. Huge bathroom with large shower and corner bath. Very well equipped kitchen with oven, Nespresso machine, microwave. Spacious dining room and private fenced garden with a braai area. Very relaxed atmosphere. Close to Stellenbosch square, La Piñeta and Route 44 market.
