Dormir en un edificio de Aalto ha sido una experiencia excepcional. La comunicación con Harri inmejorable. Alquilamos unas bicis para movernos por las islas, lo repetiría sin duda.

Siisti, toiminnallinen huoneisto, hyvä sijainti Aalto-kohteisiin tutustuttaessa. Saimme sovittua kierroksen Koetalossa ja pääsimme jopa testaamaan Kunnantalon saunaa. Kauppa ja kahvila vieressä. Ystävällinen henkilökunta.

Vessan viemäri ei vetänyt kunnolla, koko vessan lattia tulvi, kun kävi suihkussa. Vessa kaipaisi myös päivittämistä. Televisio olisi kiva.

Majoituspaikan vastaava henkilö ja avainten luovuttaja oli hieman erikoinen eikä ainakaan lisännyt viihtyvyyttä.

Staying in a building designed by Alvar Aalto. Beautifully conserved and very tranquil. The video was short and informative, and visiting the building was a fantastic experience.

The rooms are rather rudimentary.

Suihkutila olisi kaivannut suihkukoppia, sillä vesi levisi koko tilaan ja viemäri veti huonosti.

何よりもアアルトを感じることができた。 スタッフの対応が良かった。 冷蔵庫や電子レンジ、ポット、カップ、カトラリーが揃っていてとても良かったです。

鍵を開けるのにコツがいる点かな？シャワールームへ行く際にドアが交差する点。これは仕方ないのかもしれない。もともとの設計でしようから。

If you are interested in the work of Alvar Aalto then staying at the Saynatsalo Town Hall apartments will be a treat. We stayed in the "Hugo" apartment which is a basic 2 bedrooms but it is fitted out with furniture and fittings designed by the Aalto studio. In addition there is access to the entire town hall (agreed with the hosts). There is a modest kitchen and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and warm with instant hot water. The unit was very clean. There is a sauna on site that guests have access to (nice touch!). The surrounding town is very small and quiet. parking is very easy.

Saynatsalo is very small with very limited dining options. The cafe at the town hall does not open until 10am. Neither of these was a major issue but guests should be aware.

建築が素晴らしかった。 さらに、宿泊室の備品も素敵でした。 ご案内してくれたHarri Taskinenさんがフレンドリーで、私達は英語が少ししか理解出来ないのに丁寧に御説明頂けました。 また、夏の別荘のオプショナルツアーもご案内いただき、大変楽しめました。

Great to stay in an Alvar Aalto building. Bit of an architect’s dream and a unique experience. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen has the basics.

Need to fix the key lock which is broken and caused some panic to the person we found trying to retrieve the key to access room booked. Bring bathroom shoes as entire bathroom floor wet from using the shower.

Simple: you get to spend a night in an Aalto masterpiece

It does not have a living room, but only a small table in the kitchen but not a problem really

夜は、中庭周りの廊下に照明が灯り、建物外側もライトアップされ、昼間とは違った景色を眺めることができました。 キッチンの使い勝手がよく、水切りや調味料の置ける薄い棚など、造りに細かい工夫が感じられました。水曜日に宿泊したのでサウナも体験できました。温度は低かったですが、清潔感がありました。チェックインの時間が予定と変わってしまったのですが、臨機応変に対応くださいました。オートロックであることに気付かず鍵を置いたまま扉を閉めてしまったのですが、運良くスタッフの方が残業中で、笑顔で開けてくださいました。

ALVAR：古いせいか、鍵の開け閉めや、トイレを流すのにコツが入ります。また、カーテン、寝具カバー等のファブリックの組合せがイマイチで、もったいなかったです。枕の下に、髪の毛と埃が着いていたのが残念でした。 HENRIK：換気扇のスイッチが分かりにくく、押してからも煙を吸い込み始めるまで時間がかかりました。

トラブルで到着時間が遅れましたが、連絡にすぐ対応してくださりました。また、予定より到着が遅くなったにもかかわらず、見学の時間も十分にとっていただき感謝しています。

En varannut aamiaista. Huolehdin itse syömisistäni

Kuinkahan paljon tähän mahtuu kirjoittamaan :) Olen työskennellyt ennen isossa hotellissa joten tästä taustaa ja majoitun nykyisin paljon työni puolesta. Oikeastaan tällä kertaan ei paljon mennyt nappiin. Ei herätä luottamusta jos ketään ei saa kiinni. Ei ollut etukäteen tiedossa mikä on minun huoneeni nimi. Otin lukkoboksista sen mitä siinä oli. Boksi löytyi hienosti. Huone löytyi hienosti ja tykkään talosta paljon, talossa on sitä jotain. Huone ei vaan ollut minulle vaan yhdelle miehelle ja hän sai saman huoneen. Tehtiin salapoliisityötä jotta saisimme kiinni jonkun kuka asiasta jotain tietää. SE ei ollut kovin helppoa. Huone sitten ei ollutkaan minulle vaan tuolle miehelle. Siihen sitten jäin tavaroineeni käytävälle. Oli kuulkaa pitkä se 15 minuuttia odottaa, puhelimessa kerrottiin että katsotaan jos saadaan joku tuomaan minulle se oikea avain. Kyllä mielessäni kävi monta kertaa ajatus, entä jos sitä jotakuta ei saada tuomaan sitä avainta. Hän tuli ja oli oikein herttainen nuori nainen. Sitten selvisi että, minun huoneeni on annettu jollekin ja saan sitten, onneksi kuitenkin, jonkun huoneen. Viimeisen olisi voinut minulle olla kertomattakin. Hän varmaan joutui kotoa työpäivän jälkeen lähtemään kiireellä. Kiitokset hänelle. Lukkoboksi kirjautumisia on paljon käytössä ja se parhaimmillaan toimii oikein hyvin. Neuvoisin teitä laittamaan vähän isomman boksin ja jättämään aivan kuoreen josta löytyy vähintäänkin varausnro jos nimeä ette halua siihen laittaa. Nimiä kun ei nykyään saa olla muiden nähtävissä, varausnro käy oikein hyvin. Ehkä ylireagoin mutta, neljä päivää putkeen tekemässä isoa muuttoa ja sen päälle nälkä ja väsymys ei auta kaivelemaan huumoria kovin helposti tällaisessa tilanteessa. Nauratti onneksi kun söin niitä kylmiä broileripyöryköitä käytävässä.

Sijainti on hieno.

Yhteiskäyttöautoa ei voinut millään varata Säynätsalossa vaan joutui matkustamaan Jyväskylään asti sitä varaamaan.

Appartement müßte mal gründlich gereinigt werden, Schutz auf dem Kühlschrank, Spinnweben in der Zimmerecke, Renovierungsarbeiten im Bad wären angebracht, Heizung über Wochenende deutlich zu kühl ( Außentemperatur 4 Grad ) innen 20 Grad, da hilft nur ein Heizlüfter

Olisin toivonut tavallista kahvinkeitintä.Se oli korvattu retro hauduttimella.Televisio kuuluisi myös mielestäni huoneistoon.

Harri was an exceptional host. The whole experience was unique.

This was the best stay during my travels in Finland. Henry, who runs both the whole running of Säynätsalo Town Hall and the accommodation, is a very helpful and warm person who is happy to help with anything. Included in the accommodation is a guided tour of the Town Hall, and he can also arrange a boat trip to the Alvar Aalto's experimental house including a tour. The island is small but very pleasant and definitely worth staying on. The room was nicely and stylishly furnished, the kitchen had everything a traveler needs.

The condition is great. Very cozy room. The host and the volunteers are extremely nice. They gave us a lot of information about the design of the building. The food in the cafe is very tasty.

The best place to enjoy the architecture designed by alvar aalto. Also, a good place to enjoy aalto's furniture. The owner was really kind and even came over to open the door for us to visit, even though the town hall was closed on the weekend.

We travel to see Aalto's buildings, therefore to be able to stay in one was amazing!

bathroom shower is not separated, but I get it is normal in Finland.

If what you are looking for is AALTO, there is no better place than the Townhall. It feels really special and not only gives you a good feeling of Aaltos mind but also helps you understand better Finnish people and their culture. Unmissable opportunity to overnight in a masterpiece. Included a very good guided tour to the town hall by Alvar Aalto. In general, good services, furniture partially original or respectful, good cleaning, attention to sustainability.

My mattress was not the best and no way to make the bedroom really dark but these were minor issues.

For anyone interested in the works and architecture of Alvar Aalto, a visit to his iconic Saynatsalo Town Hall is a must - even better if you can stay in one of the original guest rooms. Harri, who manages the town hall has a wealth of information and is eager to talk about the building and Aalto’s career on a guided tour. He also takes guests to Aalto’s Muuratsalo Experimental House a short distance by car or cycle, or boat ride across the lake. Although basic, the accomodation had all we needed for our short stay, with comfortable beds and bedding, a small kitchen and shower room, and cupboard shelves & hanging space for clothes. Breakfast is available at the excellent cafe ‘Aabakery' on the ground floor. There is also a supermarket across the road if you want to self cater or choice of local restaurants. The Alvar Aalto museum and other of his architectural works are only a few minutes drive away in Jyvaskyla. The quiet town of Saynatsalo with it's fabulous Town Hall is the perfect location to stay and a great opportunity to experience his work first hand.

Wonderful stay! The host is very kind and a wonderful resource for all things Aalto. It was a treat to stay in an architectural masterpiece. There is a lovely cafe on site.

Everything was really nice!! The apartment was comfortable and well appointed and the location was ideal. There was also a lovely coffee shop right in the building.

There is absolutely nothing to not like about staying at Säynätsalo Townhall - if you know what it is. It's an architectural icon in a small quiet town, filled once again with life by a dedicated caretaker. While international afficionados take the tour, you can actually spend a night or more in one of the apartments - in one of Alvar Aalto's main buildings, one that shows such much about what his architecture, his thought was about. The host is exceptionally friendly (you can buy his very readable book on the building and Aalto in the book store), and there is the fabulous aa-bakery right there for very tasty breakfasts. Easy parking, excellent communications, caring caretaker, apartment with all one needs - plus great walks in this quiet community to the near-by harbour or on more natural trails. A large supermarket is just across the street.

Opportunity to stay over inside a unique Alvar Aalto building and experience the atmosphere of the architecture. Welcoming reception by the property manager and the building is located in a unique area (island).

This was very special, a room in the iconic Town Hall, especially for those keen to stay in an Aalto-designed building. The room and facilities are basic, but just fine, and I wished I'd stayed another night. Harri, who runs the place, and gives tours, could not have been more helpful, about Aalto, or the island location. Bus connections are good, with access to Muuratsalo and Aalto's Experimental House. At Saynatsalo, don't miss the excellent bakery on the ground floor, and there's a small pub with excellent home brewed beer by a marina. Enjoy the landscape, and the quiet of the lake. Finland at its finest.

Brilliant to get the Aalto cultural heritage feeling! A rare opportunity to experience sleeping in a real Aalto bedroom.

Shared bathroom was an authentic Aalto experience, a bit modest compared to today's standards.

Location, staff (Harri was great! Very helpful, great guide in the Alvar Aalto buildings and made everything easy for us), comfort and clean.

We liked everything

It’s a worthy and meaningful experience of staying in one of Aalto’s important work. Very grateful for the perfect maintenance of this building thanks to the kind and professional owner. The owner gave us a good guidance of this building and shared about his deep research of Alvar Aalto. The room is bright, clean and quiet, and there is a small sauna open twice a week. Good Cafè for breakfast. Very close for the visit of the experimental house of Aalto. Most importantly, every visit and stay will be a great help for keeping this beautiful building in a good state!

Arrived to find our accommodation at the Town Hall had been let to someone else despite it having been paid for in advance. The host did manage to arrange with a friend for us to stay in their house which we did. The house provided was very good but we could have done without the hassle after a long days travelling.
