All was good. Clean, spacious rooms, big bathroom. There was strong wifi, tv and kitcjem has all utilities for cooking. There is supermarket close by so you can cook.

Ruhig, gute Ausstattung, modern, schöner Blick aufs Meer. Gute Lage für Wanderungen im Black River Park und um Strände im Süden und Südwesten zu erreichen. Zu empfehlen.

The apartment is well equipped and spacious. Solid furniture and a washing machine downstairs that you can use. It has windows on all sites so it has a lot of natural light. There is a gate around the building and you can park your car inside. The door that leeds up the stairs to the apartment can be locked as well so it's a very safe place to stay. Great to wake up early, have a coffee on the spacious balcony overlooking the ocean, watch some beautiful birds and see Le Morne Brabant from your kitchen window. The family downstairs as well as host Arvind is very helpful. You can ask them anything! There was a cyclone approaching the island at the time of my visit and host Arvind kept we well informed on what to do. I ended up staying here for four weeks and absolutely loved it. From this place I explored the whole island by car. The arranged taxi from the airport was also really great, driver Ash showed me where the supermarket was, some restaurants and other basics. Gave some advise on driving in Mauritian traffic as well :)

La Gaulette is a quiet village with mainly residential properties. It has no sandy beach for swimming therefore not very touristy which is very nice as you get to experience the true Mauritius. Oceanview Kite Gardens Rooftop Apartment is perfectly situated with a stunning view over the lagoon and Benitier island. The apartment is very spacious and very well equipped with all you need. The owner is very helpful and the garden full of beautiful flowers and fruit trees. LaMorne beach is a short taxi ride away if you do not have your own car and cost MUR 500 each way. During our one week stay here we felt very much at home and loved waking up with the sun and the birds. We highly recommend Oceanview Kite Garden Rooftop Apartment.

Nothing negative

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Arvind communicated with us ahead of time with all the details we needed to check in. His father in law lives downstairs and made us feel at home right away. It really gave us the feeling of living among the local people of La gaulette. We enjoyed waking up to all the sounds of the birds and Arvinds dad tending to his really beautiful garden while we ate breakfast. The seaview is poetically framed by coconut palms and boats on the water. This makes the sunsets unmatched! The apartment was kitted out with enough to make us very comfortable. There were even plug adaptors! The rooms have deep cupboards good for storing clothes. We were pleasantly surprised by the kind housekeeping service twice during our 1 week stay. Our towels and sheets were changed for us. There is a really convenient washing machine and clothes drying rack that makes beach days easier. The secure parking is incredibly helpful. We'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in La gaulette.

Just bear in mind to manage your usage of the hot water. The weather is so warm so cooler showers were welcoming anyway!
