Lovely quiet location a short distance away from the town. Perfect friendly hosts who were very helpful with questions about the area. Excellent overall.

Das Gästehaus ist sehr schön und ruhig gelegen. Alles tip topp sauber und das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen!

Für unseren Aufenthalt war leider nur noch ein kleines Zimmer verfügbar. Für unseren nächsten Aufenthalt wählen wir ein grösseres Zimmer.

المكان جميل والإطلالات ساحرة، والخدمة فوق المتوقع تعاملهم ودود وخدومين ويرغبون بخدمتك دائماً، شكراً على حسن تعاملكم.

بصراحة كل شئ جميل جداً، يعيبه فقط ان ما فيه تكييف خاصة اذا كان الجو حار شوي لكن اذا كان الجو معتدل او بارد المكان ولا خلطه ويحسسك بدفئ الاكواخ الجميل.

Charming host, very friendly and made everything to make our stay comfortable. The place is very clean and very well kept. We had an excellent breakfast and enjoyed very much our stay.

The room was small with a leaning roof and no where to sit. The location requires a car.

Sehr schöne ruhige Lage. Zimmer zwar klein aber zweckmässig, sehr schöne Dusche. Frühstück ausgezeichnet.

J’ai aimé la décoration soignée de l’établissement ainsi que la terrasse extérieur / J’ai aussi apprécié l’accès à la salle de repas pour dîner. Notre arrivée a été assuré par Carmen qui nous a bien accueilli.

L’horaire du petit déjeuner à 8h me semble tard sachant que nous partons tôt en randonnée. Les illustrations de ma suite étaient mélangées avec celle d’une autre suite, ce qui prête à confusion. Par exemple, nous n’avions pas de canapé ni de table et coin repas.

Mir hat alles gefallen. Das Gasthaus wird mit viel liebe zum Detail geführt. Das Frühstück ist liebevoll angerichtet mit frischen Zutaten. Alles selbst gemacht. Die Zimmer sind sauber und schön eingerichtet. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und ruhig und sehr gepflegt. Es hat alles viel Charme und man fühlt sich einfach wohl und herzlich Willkommen! Ich komme sicher wieder! Und natürlich ein sehr freundliches tolles Personal! Einfach Top!

Séjour très agréable dans cet hôtel. La propreté était irréprochable, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Le personnel est accueillant et chaleureux, on se sent bien dès l’arrivée. Une bonne expérience globale, je recommande sans hésiter.

Super nette Gastgeberin welche die Gegend gut kennt und gute Tipps gibt. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend und es ist schade, dass man so schnell satt wird.

Personnel super gentil, lieu très propre et emplacement au top (proche de la gare, proche d'Appenzell et de Saint-Gall). Gros plus pour le petit déjeuner délicieux (et avec des produits locaux).

Très joli cadre. Chambre spacieuse et authentique . Tout était parfaitement décoré . Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner qui était délicieux.

Beautiful comfortable and spacious room, furnished in traditional Appenzell style. Quiet location, nice view and extremely helpful and friendly host. Very good breakfast, with fresh home-made items on a buffet and eggs etc made to order.

Nothing really, everything was great. You need to be aware it's a 15 minute walk into the village for evening meals - or a drive. But it's a pleasant walk anyway.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und liebevoll gepflegt. Das Frühstück gut, alles wir frisch zubereitet nach unseren Wünschen.

Etwas abseits, schön ruhig gelegen im Grünen, Zimmer modern eingerichtet, mit allem Praktischen ausgestattet, Kaffeemaschine und Wasserkocher, tolles Frühstück in grosser, heimeliger Stube.

Wunderschönes Gästehaus😍. Tolles Zimmer mit super Dusche. Mein Zimmer hat eine schöne Terrasse mit Blick ins Grüne. Sehr feines Frühstück. Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin.

This was our favorite place we stayed on our 3 week trip.  Everything was so nice. Comfy beds and rooms, beautiful property, wonderful hosts that take good care of you, and a very delicious breakfast, including a variety of local cheeses. 😋 We would love to return one day.

In middle of farm land about 1 hour drive outside big Zurich.

I loved the old traditional flavor Appenzell atmosphere of my room, but if you’re taller than 5’10” be sure to tell the booking agent or you will hit your head on the ceiling!

Everything! The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious! Easily the best breakfast we enjoyed during our stay in Switzerland. The staff is also so wonderful, we'd come back in a heartbeat!

Our host was very accommodating. We arrived after dark and they offered to pick us up at the train station by car. We accepted and we are happy we did. The walk may have been a “little” tricky in the dark, quiet, and peaceful village. When we woke the following morning our views were stunning and the village is beautiful. The walk to the train station is very easy, maybe 15 minutes through the village. We walked to the station when we left, however, our wonder host would have been happy to drive us. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Gais!

The rooms were very comfortable and I was thankful for the tub following a 5 hr hike!

hosts are extremly friendly and helpful. they are easy to communicate with and willing to help if u need for anything. Also room is very clean, beds are very comfy

My stay at Bären - Das Gästehaus was overall pleasant, but a significant disappointment overshadowed it. I specifically chose this hotel for its suite with a bathtub, willing to pay extra for this luxury. However, upon arrival, I discovered our suite lacked a bathtub, a detail not made clear during booking despite the promotional photos suggesting otherwise. This lack of transparency felt misleading and significantly impacted my satisfaction, rendering the positive aspects of our stay negligible. Despite the pleasantness of the hotel, I felt deceived, leading me to rate my experience as 1 out of 10. This experience highlighted the importance of accurate representation, as I would have preferred to choose a different hotel that met my expectations at the same price point.
