Robert was hospitable and helpful
Because of heavy rains room started leaking
Good place for a single traveler on a budget with airport layover. Great communication from the hotel. Lots of hot water! Make sure your taxi driver from Ben Gurion has his meter running or you will get taken advantage of.
I don't want to be unfair to the host who is a very pleasant guy - I don't believe the core bussiness is hosting. We should have checked the location first and used Google earth to get a better look at the offering. We were expectng something more upmarket - the problem was our research. The stay served the purpose of being close to the airport for our flight the next day.
I spent my last night in Israel at David's clean & cozy guest house ideally located close to Ben Gurion Airport. The property is walking distance to bank, food, drink & outdoor markets in friendly Or Yehuda adjacent to Bin Gurion Airport. The property was easily accessible by public transportation or local taxi service.
The staff went above and beyond to help me.
The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. It’s a short walk from the center of town, and there were shops nearby.
Although it doesn’t affect its functionality, there was almost no attempt at decoration.
The owner is very friendly and helpful
It's very outdated
My mum stayed here and can't praise you enough for being so nice and helpful when she was really stressed after all the plane cancellations. You really made her stay relaxing and went out of your way to help her. She slept really well. Thank you.
Nothing
An excellent and friendly host, who couldn't do enough.
people
it was a sizeable room it was silent good information with photos from the house. However the photos of the room doors was not accurate
the refrigator was not clean abd it was not clear what to use to make coffe and if there was coffee etc. it could have been more nicely put in the kitchen and with some notice
ideal for one night if arriving late and have a hire car Easy to find with sat nav Room was upgraded for free Excellent air conditioning and it was very welcomed at 1am The staff looked after us even though we never saw them
nothing
Helpfulness of the owner
Incredibly hot room to arrive into, dead cockroaches on the floor.
It was close to the airport.
It was filthy and poorly maintained. It was overpriced. It was not anything like the description. It was in a warehouse district not residential.
Well ..I can hardly remind something positive..may be when we were far from there already!
I can write here a lot but the most important is that the place is NOT 2.6 km apart from the airport. You cannot simply walk 2.6 km as booking promises! You need taxi in both directions and even from the airport it is 100-150 shekels, so, from.this only you add 50-75 euro to that price per stay which was 90 euro, hence 140-160 euro what is the price for a decent hotel elsewhere!
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location near airport was perfect.
Airport distance
All furniture needs a repair
It’s a fair property for 1 night when you arrive or going to the airport early Nice and easy communication with WhatsApp with the staff
Didn’t find air dryer The bottle of water property kindly left there was already opened Street Very dark at night All building needs works
Hospitalty was wonderful. Rooms were comfortable. I liked it being close to the Tel Aviv Airport
The Location was not great and not having a great breakfast
The clean bedding
Fairly rundown property in need of uplifting
Close to airport. Room very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room furbishment was basic but worth what the cost was.
The place was clean and close to the airport (15 minutes by car), which is exactly what we needed. Also, there were places to eat in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and gave us some soda, water, and some sweet treats. Very pleasant.
It has a reasonable price and its close to the airport. It s a motel, not a hotel, so you will get a simple room but the bed is very confortable, it has a small kitchen with a table, a big and good fridge and a ketel for making cofee/ tea. The location is between garages stations, you may find it a little strange about this and also the entrance / office but in the end you get a simple but clean room with confortable big bed, good airco and good shower. The owner is very nice and helpfull. To get there by bus come to Canada Ha Avodá street, not the Or Yehuda station, this aproach will give you a better impression of the area. There s a nice turkish restaurant close by.
Very clean, very simple check in, very friendly and clear communication... The room was better than I expected
it was a bad experience we stayed only one night but I didn't enjoyed
not clean very noisy because no windows area realy bad
Of the available lodging it seems to be the closest the Ben Gurion airport. The staff member was helpful and hospitable
it’s kinda run down and has a fly-by-night feel to it
For one night stay we had everything we needed: hot water, fridge, kettle, big bed. The wonderful host provided clear instructions on how to get to the place, offered us water and apples upon arrival, and he also ordered us a morning taxi to the airport. At 6 a.m. it was a ten minute ride. I think it must be one of the closest accommodations to the airport, and it has a rather affordable price from what I have seen around Tel-Aviv.
Since it is so close to the airport, the constant noise of planes landing and taking off might be a trouble for some guests.
Stay was ok. The owner was nice and helpful.
The room wasn't the nicest, the sheets were dirty.
Located in an industrial area, we had to leave this accommodation asking its owner to cancel the reservation due to the lack of internet network, the impossibility of cooking, a dilapidated building and a service overall pathetic for an excessive price! PS: We did a 6-day tour with a rental car. We decided to stay in accommodations where meals could be cooked: it was impossible to prepare any meals in this accommodation! A sacndalous price !
very near to the airport, Robert did everything to make our stay most comfortable
budget hotel, spacious room, kind owner, close to airport
bit noisy during daytime, very simple decor
Exactly what can you expect for this money.
It was a bit loud, as the walls are quite thin and it is possible to hear the guests from other rooms.
Manager v. Helpful
Nothing
It's close to the airport, so I like the location. And also very friendly staff.
The owner was very generous and kind, he went above and beyond to help us! I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be near the airport!
secure entry, spacious to get luggage organized for flight
security alarm sounding from nearby building
I needed a good value place to stay in Tel Aviv, especially as it's such an expensive city. For the price this place did exactly what I needed, a simple place to stay of a decent size. What's really nice for the price is that I got a double bedroom and another room with a single bed plus kitchen facilities. It's exactly as advertised.
It is a very convenient location for the airport, just a 10 minute drive. Nice that it had a small kitchen included. Parking out front was easy and Robert was helpful and friendly.
The rooms need a lot of maintenance. Very basic accommodations, so don't expect too much.
Clear directions. Fair bit of space.
Host kept forgetting that I had sent him a picture of my passport. We did this 3 times before it stuck. Neighborhood is pretty gritty. Room is up 2 flights of stairs.
The host helped to order a taxi at 3AM. Close to the airport, but anyway 15 min by taxi (100 shekels).
Tiny room only for one-night stay before early flight.
Perhaps location/distance from the airport is the selling point of this guest house. Large room (Budget) and strong shower. Coffee/tea and kettle in room which is good. - However better if coffee/tea/sugar comes in sachets for hygiene.
Cleanness could be better. Blankets don't seem to have been washed for some time. Linen dirty and pillow cover smells like it recently been used.
communication
3 rd rate
I wanted to stay close to Ben Gurion airport to catch an early flight & this property was perfect. The host is a good communicator & responsive. The suite is roomy & has everything you need for a brief stay.
The multiple flights of stairs didnt bother me nor the upholstery facory downstairs or the auto repair garage next door as I arrived late afternnon & left very early AM.
The location is in a bad part of town. We didn’t feel very safe!
No one to welcome you to show you where your room was.
close to the airport
parking space
close to airport
loud at night because of street and airport
The place had hot water and the room was big. The self check-in was easy.
The bed linen smelled like cigarettes and the entrance was hard to find as the place does not look a hotel or guest house. The outside wasn't clean and for solo travelers arriving during the night it isn't the most welcoming experience. The outside pictures also don't correspond to the reality of the place.
Very close to the airport perfect for quick stays before a flight
Near the airport. Competitive price. Clean Bedding on our bed. Comfortable mattress. Shower warm with good pressure. Toilet reasonably clean. Small kitchen with fridge-freezer and elderly microwave. Local kebab restaurant and several fruit and veg shops nearby. Fealty safe walking at night. Owner friendly.
In an industrial area. Building is a simply converted industrial unit. Some aircraft noise. small blood stain the sheet of one of the five beds in the room. (Not one that we were using.) Our double bed was in a corner, so one had to climb over the second person to get out. My partner used one of the other beds. Problem solved. No duvets. Elderly sheets and blankets are provided for one to make up one’s own bed. very scratchy towels. recommend taking your own if you want a soft one. At the windows, blankets were draped over the curtain rails in place of curtains. Many of the polystyrene wall tiles had come off. Some of the floor tiles were loose. the bed mattresses were resting on plywood. The shower screen did not fit, so the shower room flooded if one was not careful. Bare lightbulbs.
very comfortable bed
Just NO. Needed to take a taxi from airport. Hair on all bedsheet. breadcrumbles all over floor and kitchen area.
Close to the airport
It's located in an industrial zone, clearly not meant for night stay.. bed linen was not clean. The place was smelly , the towels were smelly. No external window and the AC remote doesn't work so you either freeze to death or suffocate
At the begining everything was fine. The owner reply really fast and send all the informations. The rooms are old but for sleeping after or before a flight it's not a big deal. but there some negative things that made my experience really bad. - No sheets - Hair and fur even in the bed - No wifi - nobody at the reception in the morning - noisy place I'm usually not picky but at this price we expect a better service.
inside of the room
the location and environment, not clean enough
honedtly, nothing really.....
Quite a run-down place...horrible view. Would not wsnt to return - for this amount of money, very expensive
Nothing.
The worst lodging in many years of travel. Fifteen minutes away from the airport, in an industrial area. The rooms are inside an old abandoned factory. Without heating.Everything is dirty, old, broken with torn sheets, worn and stained towels. The blankets smelled of mold. Furniture very old and broken. Cables and fixtures covered with cardboard plastic curtains or posters. Impossible to sleep because the owner uses the room on the ground floor to organize private parties with live music. Loud stereo system until 2 a.m. at night. I find it very bad to lie to those staying there and say that they were celebrating their wife´s birthday. I asked guests who were drinking and singing in the courtyard and celebrating a wedding anniversary and regularly used the disco room for parties every weekend. I stayed with husband and children and a family of friends and their children staying in another room, and I swear we didn't know whether to get angry or laugh at how crazy it all was. A horror movie. Be warned. It´s a scam!
This is only a "guest house". Do not expect a lots. The staff or owner is very good. He is a very good man. I arrived late at night he helped me all the way. Thanks
There is as nothing to like about this property.
The Star Guest house is in an unlikely industrial area. It sort of looks like they carved a room out of a warehouse. The room was dingy and somewhat uncomfortable. we chose it because it was supposedly close to the airport. It is physically close but the driving route makes it no closer than some of the more distant Tel Aviv suburbs. I would never stay there again. You should remove the Star Guest house from your Web site so that others will not wind up there. There was no heat to warm the place other than our bodies.
Clean, basic overnight facilities for 3 or 4 adults, but don't expect 5-star accommodation. TV, hot shower, toilet, partial air-conditioning, free internet. Facilites for coffee, tea, snacks etc, (microwave) but meals not provided. Very handy to airport and as a central base for exploring Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and further south. We stayed 4 nights in all and will use the Star Guest House again. Proprietor Robert very friendly, speaks English (and Hebrew!) and is very helpful - a nice guy. Off-street parking next to entrance by arrangement. Rapid responce to phone calls or WhatsApp messages.
One of rhe AC units didn't work - the other did and warmed the whole flat OK. The shower was also cold until you realised you had to switch on the timed electric heater a bit beforehand - no probelms then. The entrance looks like (possibly is!) a building site - but don't be put off by that - walk on through and up the stairs to the office. Rooms on 2 floors - I suspect disabled access might be a problem - ask Robert first!
Large room. Nice owner. Basically clean.
Refurbished old apartment rooms. Building and walkways were really old and run down
I don't think it has any advantages but near the airport.
Almost everything.
dirty, very unpleasant place
Bed was very comfortable and I honestly would enjoy staying here a couple days if not for the unexpected negatives.
Room was non-smoking but smelled like smoke. I was not informed that this guesthouse is connected to a nightclub and that loud music would shake the room through the night.
The manager was very friendly, very helpful and accommodating. I was there for a single night, and chose this place solely because of the proximity to the airport.
There was a lot of noise at 6am from incessant slamming doors and shouting right outside the room which made it impossible to rest. I found the room overpriced for what is essentially a motel room, and though it is physically close to the airport, it is 20 minutes and 100-150 shekels by taxi to get there.
