Séjour incroyable chez Sam ! Plein d attentions et petits détails comme les bouteilles d eau a disposition, le masque et tuba, les draps pour les matelas des transats, 2 ventilateurs dans la chambre .... Des petits déjeuners et dîners si vous le souhaitez très bons et très très généreux ! Sam et ses filles sont adorables, le coin est magique, un vrai village de pecheurs, une plage vraiment baignable sans risque....prévoyez d y rester un moment ! La vue sur la mer et le lever du soleil depuis votre terrasse, c'était vraiment notre meilleure spot sur la côte Sud !!! Merci !!!!

Der Ausblick auf die Bucht war einfach super. die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und das Frühstück mit der Aussicht einfach fantastisch.

Einfache Ausstattung.

Alles! Die Lage direkt am Meer, das saubere und schöne Zimmer, der Balkon, das Frühstück und vor allem die netten Gastgeber!!! Sam und seine zwei Töchter sind sehr nett und kümmern sich um alles, damit man sich wohl fühlt! Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr weiterempfehlen 😊

Gutes, luftiges Zimmer mit großem Balkon. Aufmerksamer und sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, der uns von morgens bis abends immer wieder mit diversen Getränken und Speisen verwöhnte. Unterkunft direkt am Strand in wunderschöner Umgebung. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

A l'écart des zones surfréquentées par les touristes sur la côte sud du pays, cet hébergement fait face à une plage surtout utilisée par les pêcheurs, mais où l'on peut aussi très bien se baigner. La terrasse est agréable et la nourriture généreuse.

Vielen Dank für die herzliche Begrüßung im Beach Inn . Wir verlebten hier 3 wunderschöne Tage . Das angebotene Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig . Die Unterkunft hat keine AC ! Man taucht ein in das Leben der Einheimischen . Das Zimmer hatte eine angemessene Größe und war zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sauber . Ein gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis . Wir danken für die Freundlichkeit . Der Blick aufs Meer und die Fischerboote ist sehr romantisch .

What an incredible place. Right on a beach with no one else there, the location is hard to beat. We had the best food we have had the whole holiday . The breakfast and dinner were amazing and such a friendly family. Sleeping with the sound of the ocean and a short walk from the lighthouse

The perfect place to escape the crowds, enjoy a beautiful sea view, and experience a Sri Lankan fishing community. The rooms are basic but super clean and have everything you could need: mosquito net, fans, towels, bottled water,... The family is so welcoming and prepares lovely food. Dondra with its beautiful lighthouse is worth the visit.

Cheap comfortable spacious lodging in a simple fishing village overlooking the sea. Lovely quiet non touristy location. We were looked after beautifully by lovely Sam (beautiful soul!) who served us big breakfasts on the terrace. We were happy with the cold shower as the weather is very warm.

Lovely sea view from room and balcony. Proximity to two almost private beaches. Rustic homestay experience, in local neighbourhood. Wildlife everywhere. The host family were fantastic and extremely kind. Breakfast and optional dinner were made from the heart, varied and plentiful.

Nothing really. This homestay was a refreshing change.

I have travelled for over 30 years and this is undoubtedly one of the best value-for-money homestays I have been to. The family are so kind and generous. Their comfortable home is on the beach, with views out to a beautiful bay. You can watch fruit bats and parrots roost at night and the sunrise from your bed! Turtles sometimes lay their eggs at night here but I was too lazy to stay up. Breakfast is amazing: lots of fruits and a variation of pancakes, patties, eggs, coffee etc. Bottled water is also freely available. Good fans and mosquito nets. Sam is a great host. His daughters were home at Xmas and they were wonderful too. You can swim well in the sandy bay or visit the beach below the lighthouse, 10 minutes away, where there is a cool bar with a swing and hammock over the water. I prefer the non-touristy side of things here and chatting with locals. I visited Dickwella today to suss out the next place to stay but it was far too touristy for me, so I returned to Dondra to stay even longer.

I liked everything about the homestay.

Hosts were really good. Meals were great. We had a nice view and everything is clean.

Great location overlooking the beach and in a friendly village . Clean room. Nice to walk up to the Dondra lighthouse . Amazing breakfast , one of the best on our trip and varied the two days we were there .Dinner was fantastic and great value . Very large portions . Host was very helpful with everything . A great place to stay to experience real Sri Lankan life away from the tourist areas .

As in a lot of properties no hot water .

This place is a little gem. Right in front of the beach, it is an oasis of peace far away from the busy touristic places. Here you get to experience lovely authentic Sri Lankan neighbourhood. The hosts were very friendly and kind. The father was the sweetest man, always being very caring and offering us teas, water and food. Oh my God the food is amazing, and the amount, I wished I could have 3 stomachs to fit it all in. Higly recommend it. Thank you very much Only suggestion is to install an A/C in the room for the hottest days :)

Fantastic homestay situated in one of the prettiest bays in Sri Lanka. The room was very good and clean with a wonderful view of the colourful fishing boats. The family looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was varied very tasty and the portions were huge.. It's only a short walk to the lighthouse and the little town where the temple is worth a visit. Wish we had booked for longer. Hopefully will return next year.

First and foremost, Sam and his family are exceptionally good hosts. The Inn itself was on the beach,any . you would be in the sea! The inclusive breakfast not only sets you up for the day but possibly puts you back to bed because there's so much of it. Apparently, there's no translation for portion control! Also, no breakfast was the same over the 7 days that we stayed,originally booked for 5. It's that good. The evening dinner was an extra, but well worth it. Great location steps away from beach where you can swim, mainly fishing boats around. The room was very simple, spacious and clean. The host (unprompted) brought in an extra plug in fan to help cool the room. There was a ceiling fan. That was much appreciated. All very uncomplicated , former family home that has not been boutiquified. Bathroom shower has better water pressure than many expensive hotels! Shared large terrace / balcony was not an issue for us; friendly couple staying in other toom. Food here deserves a mention ; we thought it was exceptional. Father & son host were very helpful providing lift/ taxi themselves to whale watching & to onward destination. The rating would have been 10 if some signage to help find it :) and (we are not worried at all re fancy decor) but for comfort air con would be a great investment for future.

Exceptional hospitality, our hosts were extremely helpful, friendly and funny made us feel very comfortable and part of the family without being intrusive. Food was excellent 👌 both quantity (enormous!) and variety. Location is right on the beach with large verandas in the centre of a traditional fishing village.

The place is a small fishing village. The house is on the beach. Very kind father Sam and his dauther cooked fantastic breakfast and dinner. For us not traditional fish for breakfast. They where delish The sunset is beautiful. There is a lighthouse you can visit.
