Sehr gute und freundliche Gastlichkeit. Viele interessante Sachen aus DDR Zeiten gab es zu entdecken und zum anfassen. Leider reichte die Zeit nicht aus, um tiefer in den 2 „Museumzimnern“ eintauchen zu können.

Das Wasser zum Duschen brauchte ziemlich lang bis es warm wurde.

Sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Quartier. Die Ausstattung, z. T. auch die offen verlegte Elektrik, ist teilweise "skurril", vieles ist zusammengebastelt und hält eben gerade so. Große Ansammlung alter DDR-Gegenstände; z.T. in gesonderten Räumlichkeiten, z.T. im ganzen Haus verstreut. Andererseits ein unterhaltsamer älterer Herr als Gastgeber.

Quirky and a 15 minute walk from the castle, good free parking, excellent breakfast. Fridge and microwave to heat food if needed. Kettle for hot drinks. Super clean sheets. Comfortable bed. Working lift. Great value given its amazing location.

Water leaked out under shower door but we had a scraper to get it back to the drain.

Ein toller Gastgeber in einer wirklich außergewöhnlichen Unterkunft. Man lebt quasi in einem Museum, an allen Ecken gibt es etwas zu entdecken und zu bestaunen.

Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, man denkt der Nachbar duscht im selben Raum, ist halt ein altes Haus.

Lokalizacja w spokojnym miejscu, fajne muzeum DDR w środku, można powspominać...Łóżka wygodne.

Dusche und Abluft im Zimmer schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Zimmer müssten mal wieder renoviert werden. Der Charme geht dadurch bestimmt nicht verloren.

Wirtin war sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Frühstück war sehr überschaubar, aber ausreichend

The place was quirky which made it even more special. Just take note that they serve breakfast as part of the price but have no restaurant, so you would need to venture into town to eat. We found a lovely place just by the foot of the castle

We waren op doorreis. En de enige mensen in het hotel. Het was rustig en na een lange weg er naartoe was dat prettig.

De douchekop kon alleen op harde stand, want op de andere stand vloog het water omhoog.

Eine sehr außergewöhnliche Pension, mit DDR Museum. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, tolle Gastgeber mit Herz.

Auf das warme Wasser musste man Geduld mitbringen 😄 aber man ist ja nicht auf der Flucht.

Bijzonder gebouw, bomvol met allerlei memorabilia, vooral uit de voormalige DDR. Hele vriendelijke en gastvrije host. Er was een koelkast waar je zelf drinken kon pakken en bij vertrek afrekenen. Ligt wat uit t centrum maar wel op loopafstand

De doucheruimte kan wel een kleine opknapbeurt gebruiken, maar was verder wel schoon

Ruhig gelegen, abseits der Hauptstraße. Wundervoll herzlicher Empfang. Frühstück lecker und alles was dazu gehört war vorhanden. Dazu ein kleines DDR Museum. Für uns ein toller Aufenthalt und würden definitiv wieder einchecken . Vielen Dank .

Gastvrouw was aardig, gezellig en heel sociaal. De kamers zagen er netjes, gezellig en mooi uit. Het ontbijt was lekker en gevarieerd. 2 nachten verbleven en gaan komende maandag weer een nacht naar dit hotel 😃👍🏻 Er moet ook wel vermeld worden, dat deze vrouw alles alleen doet!! Petje af voor haar! Wij hebben diep respect voor haar ❤️

Clean and comfortable room. Great hosts made us feel welcome. Simple breakfast with more than enough to eat. Quiet location. Easy walk to Colditz castle.

Slaapkamer kan je niet goed verduisteren.

Our goal was to see Coldiitz Castle so the location was Ok. We don’t have a car so it is a 2 km walk which is ok for us. The museum is quirky and unusual it looks like it was set up20 years ago and hasn’t been dusted. The breakfast was good and the area comfortable and also unusual

The only staff member was friendly but only speaks German so I’m sure there were things we missed. There was only one pillow per person and the towel were half size and thin.

Sehr freundliche Vermieter. Alles vorhanden zum Wohlfühlen. Das mit großer Liebe eingerichtete Museum ist ein absolutes muss zum anschauen. Die Parkplätze sind direkt am Haus und kostenfrei.

Uns hat es gut in der Kutscherstube gefallen. Waren als Familie dort, hatten 4 Zimmer nebeneinander super. Das Frühstück war reichlich mit frischen Brötchen und Eiern vom Bauern. Die Wirtin war sehr nett und hat jeden Wunsch erfüllt . Danke für den schönen und kinderfreundlichen Aufenthalt.

Quirky, fun, friendly, family managed hotel, with a museum, walking distance from Colditz castle. We were made to feel very welcome. Our room was large and quiet. Car parking is on site.

The bathroom didn't have any toiletries or a hairdryer.. Breakfast is from 08:30 - 09:30 which we 'lost in translation.'

Zimmer war groß genug. Zusatzbett vorhanden. Gutes Frühstück. Schade, dass wir nicht länger bleiben konnten.

Very quirky lovely property

Am Ende einer Sackgasse im beschaulichen Ortsteil Thumirnicht ist die Pension hoch über der Mulde ruhig gelegen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist übersichtlich, aber man wird satt. Täglich gibt es lokale Eier frisch gekocht und frisch aufgebackene Brötchen.

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Auf den sehr weichen Matratzen und dem knarrenden Bettgestell haben wir nicht so gut geschlafen. Zum Frühstück war auch schon mal das Brot alle und kein Vorrat mehr da.

Het huis is één groot museum, met een spoorbaan in de tuin en binnen een gigantisch volgepropt DDR-museum. De eigenaren zijn hartstikke aardig. Het ontbijtbuffet was prima.

De internetkwaliteit was minder. Ik kon op m'n mobiel geen Nederlandse tv kijken.

Für 3 Personen gab es nur 3 Handtücher . Leider kein einziges Badetuch und kein badeteppich

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich unschlagbar! Die Unterkunft entspricht genau den Fotos – man bekommt also genau das, was man erwartet. Kein Luxus, aber dafür sauber und gemütlich. Besonders positiv: Für diesen Preis ist sogar ein Frühstück inklusive. Was will man mehr!?

Außergewöhnliches Ambiente

Parking is to the front of the property, enough for 6, possibly 7 cars and a large courtyard for motorcycles. The owner was very informative/friendly, speaking good English, she showed us all the areas and amenities on the way to our room. Our room was on the second floor, the stairs were narrow and winding, but there is a lift to all floors. Large double bed with two quilts, two pillows, bedside tables/lamps, wardrobe, table and three chairs, single bed, small draw unit, TV (to small for room), WiFi, NO AIRCON, radiator and on-suite wet room. Only three small hand towels. Room, towels and bedding were all clean. The area by the lift has a small shared kitchenette with sink, microwave, hot plate and fridge. Downstairs there is a lounge/ bar area with a large TV, open fire, honesty fridge containing beer, wine, soft drinks and water. There was a basket of crisps next to fridge and a note pad to mark down what you had taken. The place is like a museum, it is covered with memorabilia about Colditz and the castle. Breakfast was in another building, there was a dinning area and bar. Again this room was covered in memorabilia. Hot, day one scrambled eggs and day two fried eggs. Cold, four white rolls on table, selection of cheese and meat, hot boiled eggs, sliced bread, butter, marmalade and spreads, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, milk, water, squash, very strong coffee and a selection of teas. All very nice. Located towards the edge of the town it's still only a 20 min stroll to the market square then another 5 mins to the castle entrance, although on the return journey, it is uphill. If visiting Colditz castle there is a car park available at the entrance and I would recommend you allow at least 3 hours to fully explore. Be aware the there is a very large spiral stone staircase to climb half way around the histopad tour. On Sunday/Monday most of the restaurants/cafes either do not open or have reduced opening hours.

Das Frühstück war hervorragend, reichliche Auswahl, es war für jeden (alt und jung) genug zur Auswahl. Der Inhaber und seine Familie sind super freundlich. Wir werden gerne wieder dort übernachten.

Der kleine Hof liegt etwas abseits am Ortsrand und ist herrlich familiär geführt. Neben den Gastgebern stach natürlich der Hund hervor. Mit ein wenig Leckerlies ging der uns nicht mehr von der Seite ;-) Die Unterkunft / Zimmer war eher schlicht, aber dem Preis durchaus angemessen. Wie schon anderweitig beschrieben, ist das kleine Privatmuseum aus DDR-Zeiten mehr als eines Blickes wert. Bedauerlicherweise konnten wir nicht in der Kutscherstube essen, da die Wirtsleute altershalber den Betrieb geschlossen haben. Das Frühstück hingegen war ausgezeichnet und überraschend umfangreich.

Ein klein wenig mehr Komfort und ein etwas größerer TV wären toll - für eine Übernachtung war das aber kein Kriterium.

This Pension not only gave me a quiet and comfortable room but served an excellent breakfast. The lobby of the hotel is a museum of Colditz history.

If walking from town center, it's a bit uphill.

The hotel was very clean and the hosts very accommodating. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Added bonus of the collection of items from East Germany, very interesting to have a look at. Highly recommend if going to visit Colditz castle. Approximately 20 minute walk / 5 minute drive from the castle/town. Lili's Pizzeria was recommended by the host, where we had a terrific meal.

De inrichting, museumpje, prachtig huis en tuin, allebij uitstekend onderhouden, prima ontbijt. Leuke gastvrouw.

De kamer was sober, maar dat paste eigenlijk pries bij de DDR inrichting.

Kleines Zimmer, sehr alte Einrichtung,

Die Streckenplanung der Radtour brachte es mit sich, in Colditz zu übernachten. Da die Auswahl an Unterkünften nicht so groß war (insbesondere im Hinblick auf ein Abendessen) und die Unterkunft durchweg gute Kritiken erhält, haben wir eine Übernachtung mit Frühstück gebucht. Und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr nettes, hilfsbereites, sympathisches Inhaberpaar. Abstell- und Lademöglichkeit für Fahrräder. Gutes Frühstück. Wir sind recht spät angekommen und haben dann in einer kleinen Pizzeria "Lily" gegessen. Können wir weiterempfehlen. Die Pension liegt ruhig und etwas außerhalb der Altstadt, diese kann aber mit den Rädern in ein paar Minuten erreicht werden. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und geräumig. Es gibt eine kleine Getränkeauswahl mit Vertrauenskasse und ein kleines sehenswertes DDR- Museum. Uns hat es gefallen. Wir haben auch gut geschlafen.

Fantastic Place to stay. Very interesting DDR private museum on site. Peaceful, Counryside location Host very helpful...We got a lift to the bus Stop in his vintage Citroen. Stylish Breakfast Memorable place to stay - gives You experience of Colditz and beyond. Will be back!

A fair walk to town - about 15mins, but interesting nevertheless....

the breakfast was good, however the table where the food was laid out was too small for the number of people who wanted to make their selection

my friend and I stayed in an upstairs room with a single bed and a double bed. There was no light by the small bed - it was therefore difficult to read in bed

Nostalgie Hotel mit DDR Museum! Es gab viel zu entdecken. Der Ortsteil von Colditz heißt Thumirnicht, der Name ist Lebensmotto!! Gefüllter Kühlschrank mit Kasse des Vertrauens. Bei 35°C eine Wohltat. Sogar war Lift verfügbar und unsere Fahrräder waren gut untergebracht!

Die steile Anfahrt mit dem Rad war nochmal eine Herausforderung!

Rooms are spacious and clean. It’s a quirky place - virtually a live-in museum - but quite interesting. Breakfasts are decent.

You have to go back into town for food - it’s about a 15 min walk, which isn’t too bad in pleasant weather.

Der Service war sehr sehr freundlich, das Frühstück ausreichend. Auf meine Bitte, etwas eher zum Frühstück zu kommen, war problemlos möglich. Der Innenhof ist sehr schön gestaltet und ladet abends zum Verweilen ein.

Leider gab es keine Fliegengitter am Fenster, was die Mücken zum Reinkommen einladet. Gerade im Sommer auch keine Option, das Fenster zu schließen. Dass es auch Mückenstecker zum Ausleihen gab, hab ich zu spät gelesen.
