Reviewed Sep 19, 2026I had a wonderful time. The room was very clean. The location is unique, and the breakfast was delicious, with everything you could need. The tomato jam was particularly tasty. The hosts are very welcoming. I felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Si tratta di un piccolo alberghetto, in posizione invidiabile (davanti alla riserva del sudoeste alentejano), al limitare del paesino di Odeceixe (già, di suo, caratteristico). Il personale è stato gentilissimo, in particolare la proprietaria e il ragazzo nepalese al ristorante (la colazione servitaci, sebbene fosse semplice, era molto buona). Le camere erano comode e molto spaziose, alcune dotate di balconcino o terrazzino privato.
Il parcheggio in strada non è garantito, potrebbe essere necessario cercare posto lungo la "circonvallazione" Variante 19 de Abril.

The breakfast spread is quite good consisting of fresh melon, omelette, bread, butter, jam, fresh juice, yogurt etc. The location is pretty nice - 2-3 minutes walking distance from restuarants yet peaceful surrounding overlooking the valley in front. Parking is in public parking space - though I never faced a problem, but something to keep an eye for.

Es ist mehr so ein Gästehaus, wo man im Familienleben sich beteiligt fühlt. Die Zimmer sind klar neben der Saison privat genutzt. Eine nutzbare Küche ist in der Winterküche zur Verfügung gestellt. Man muss sich mit vielen Zimmern ein relativ kleines Bad gemeinsam teilen.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026We really appreciated our stay at Sol e Mar Guest House. It´s a simple and very genuine spot in the countryside, 6 minutes away from the beach, which was just what we were looking for to relax for the weekend. The owner, Mrs. Dulce is a great host, very welcoming and always available for her guests. We found free parking right in from of the Guest House in the middle of August! It was quite a miracle as most places in Odeceixe are located in narrow streets with no parking anywhere nearby. We stayed in room 101, which was simple but quite comfortable, with a little balcony with a really relaxing view to the countryside. It has 2 ropes in which you can hang your towels and swimming wear. Breakfast was simple but with everything really fresh (some even from their own production). Mrs. Dulce has the sweetest young grandson, which our son loved to play with.
Odeceixe beach forms part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park and is considered one of the 7 wonders of Portugal. Parking can be quite a challenge and you have to go down a long hill to access the beach, so in the peak of Summer, you´re better of going early in the morning. If you want to avoid this issue, there´s a small touristic little train that goes from the Guest House into the beach. The water is excellent and not as cold as we had expected. Odeceixe Beach functions simultaneously as both a sea beach and a river beach, due to the mouth of the Ribeira de Seixe. When you go down the steps, it has a sort of central area where the stream is on the right-hand side and the sea is on the left. In the background, you can see the Ribeira flowing into the sea, and on the hillside, there is lush green vegetation with trees at the top. The mixture of the stream and the tides create shallow pools of warm water, ideal for children to play safely, as the sea is very rough. At low tide, there is a very extensive stretch of sand. At high tide, the sandy area is reduced to the sandy peninsula in the centre. There´s another beach 18minutes away, that has the same setting than this one, only that it is smaller - Carvalhal (already in Alentejo Region). Odeceixe Village is gorgeous with its cute narrow streets and its lovely little houses, very well kept and typical from the Algarve. (had to write this here as there wasn´t enough space above.) - We wish we´d have been there for longer, but unfortunately 2 days it was all the time we could afford. It was hard to say goodbye to Mrs. Dulce and her grandson. We hope to be back soonish.

La stanza quadrupla è imbarazzante, letti a castello scomodi, uno dei due non è neanche possibile stare seduti nel letto sotto, i materassi sono tutti deformati e mi è venuto mal di schiena, la stanza è troppo piccola per 4 persone, tutto molto umido, abbiamo trovato gli asciugamani bagnati dall’umidità, luci troppo fioche e un solo specchio piccolo nel bagno, luce bagno scarsa, invece le tende non sono oscuranti e quindi mattina c’è la luce nella stanza, inoltre la stanza è all’ingresso della struttura e accanto a dove si fa colazione quindi in u punto di passaggio poca privacy. Questa stanza dovrebbe essere solo doppia e comunque è una stanza non adatta alla locazione per la troppa umidità

Reviewed Jul 5, 2026Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber schön und sauber. Der Ausblick in die Natur ist wunderschön und war für uns ein schöner Auftakt für unsere Wanderung. WLAN war gratis. Auch das Frühstück war einfach, aber gut. Die Unterkunft liegt zentral im Ort. In wenigen Fussminuten ist man im Zentrum.
Es war so passend, dass es wirklich nicht's zu bemängeln gibt. Wir hatten auf der ganzen Wanderung das Gefühl, dass vieles so ganz selbstverständlich und unspektakulär, einfach funktioniert.

Reviewed Jun 24, 2026Ik doe een roadtrip door portugal en dit was mijn achtste hotel. Veruit mijn favoriet tot nu toe, hoewel het niet eens het duurste was. Eenvoudige, praktische kamers zonder poespas, leeslampjes, degelijke bedden, vriendelijke staff en een prima ontbijt. En een geweldig uitzicht op de vallei! Bovendien viel men mij doorheen de dag niet lastig met berichtjes over wanneer ik zou inchecken, wat ik erg apprecieer. Je arriveert gewoon wanneer je arriveert. Graag tot wederzien!

Tür vom Zimmer zur Terasse war nicht mehr abschließbar. Zimmer mußte durch heruntergelassenen Rolladen gesichert werden. Frühstück war ok aber sehr einfach gehalten.

Reviewed May 8, 2026Surprisingly great! Looks like recently refurbished, our room had a terrace with a place to dry our clothes which was very convenient at that stage of our trail.
Breakfast was limited but everything else was amazing.
