Very handy location! We had a great night in the local bar and a lovely meal in the local restaurant which are both only a 10 minute walk. Siobhan was very welcoming and gave us great recommendations for the local area. The room was very comfortable and we would highly recommend staying here!
This B&B was very comfortable and quiet. Myself and my cousin came and we found the room to be warm and very inviting. There was a microwave and fridge, I travelled with my little dog and she loives fish and rice. I was able to leave in fridge which was excellent!. There was orange juice and other treats in the fridge, which I thought was a touch that not many would have done. The bed was comfortable. I would definitely come again.
I have to say the towels. They were so hard and not comfortable.
Good location. Nice and quiet. Facilities are good and clean.
Breakfast was prepackaged. Muesli was excellent, however.
Lovely spot & a nice quiet location, it’s just a fabulous little place to stay … self contained with just about everything you need, it’s been thought out very well
Nothing
Beautiful en suite apartment decorated with taste and the comfort of visitors in mind. Great attention to detail with all the facilities you could imagine. Siobhan is a great host and recommended restaurants within walking distance and rang to check ahead for time of last orders. Breakfast was self service with lots of options. Location is perfect down a quiet cul de sac but yet near as a base to explore the Glengarriff/Bantry area or take a trip to Garnish island.
No TV in the room but I didn't miss this at all. I enjoyed the radio instead.
1. Our room was separate from the main house, offering plenty of privacy. 2. The owner was friendly and helpful. 3. Breakfast was generous and varied, providing a great start to the day—with options including bread, ham, cheese, jam, honey, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and milk. 4. Complimentary Wi-Fi was available. 5. The room included a mini fridge for added convenience. 6. Toiletries were provided.
1. The room is a good size for travellers packing light, but those with larger suitcases may find space a bit limited. 2 No TV in the room.
The room is very comfortable, nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and all one needs to make breakfast. Terrific. It’s a lovely setting, a cute and practical lodging. A good value just off the Wild Atlantic Way.
It’s not that we did not like anythng. But we had a bit of a problem. We lost our internet connection for most of the afternoon — while we were hiking the Sheep’s Head Lighthouse loop — and for that reason did not receive instructions for how to arrive at the precise location until very late in the day. Siobhan sent very precise and easy to follow direction, but we did not receive them until after we had arrived. (We used the Booking.com “get directions” function, then Google Maps to find the B & B.) Our advice: Be sure to check for a message through Booking.com with the directions before you arrive in Ballylickey.
It was a great stay and absolutely recommend! The landlord is a lovely and nice lady. Everytime again and a perfect place to relax. It was so well organized and there is a microwave and a fridge.
The room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The host communicated clearly from start to finish, making check-in easy and stress-free. We also appreciated the variety of breakfast options. The facilities were well-maintained and had a nice, welcoming feel.
Superb, very clean and quiet
Lovely place, easy check-in
Service was good and staff nice
Nil
Spotlessly clean. Best night sleep we’ve had after 3 weeks is Ireland as the doona was not heavy. Fabulous continental breakfast. No traffic noises. Highly recommend.
We usually like a tv but we were so tired it didn’t matter
Not good
Quiet en nice and comfertabel

The set up was nice. Everything was very comfy and clean. The electric shower was nice. The host was very kind and helpful and set out breakfast for us before we arrived. (There is a mini fridge, microwave, and electric kettle.)
Great B&B stay. Loved the self check in and that the room was so separate and self contained. Fabulous bed and bathroom. Really great set up with fridge and microwave. Breakfast being in your room was so handy. Who doesn’t want breakfast in bed at the time you want?! Couldn’t rate this stay more. Great and friendly host.
Only contact with the landlady: to ask to put on some heating... The noise of piano exercices up to 9PM. Very frugal self done continental breakfast
The room was really well designed and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. It was great to be self sufficient, Siobhan was very helpful and even accommodated our coffee snobbery by providing a cafetière when asked.
We had beautiful weather but couldn’t enjoy it because we had to have blinds down. Venetian blinds might have overcome this issue. In case you’re not aware the toaster seems to be on its last legs xx
Excellent place everything you need in room, friendly host. Def stay again if in area
Very comfy and quite room. Also the host was very friendly.
The room is beautiful and very comfortable, equipped with all the services and even more. The location is very quiet and has parking. The owner is a very kind and helpful person. Highly recommended!
My girlfriend and I stayed at this property for two nights in July 2024 for a road trip. The services, comforts and supplies are more than sufficient. We really liked the cleanliness and the nice furnishings of the room. The welcome and availability of the owner, a truly kind person, were more than excellent. The house is located 5 minutes by car from the center of Bantry and 15 minutes from Glengarrif, so convenient location. Convenient parking inside the property. Overall good value for money and a very pleasant experience. The "self-check in" and "self-breakfast" solution were very efficient.
Overall nothing important to report
Lovely owner 🥰 Nice and quiet , amazing breakfast , comfortable bed . Highly recommended 😁
Excellent if you want something quiet and private. Host is very hands-off, but makes sure you have everything you need and was extremely forthcoming otherwise.
Not many surface areas to deposit luggage on, so best not be squeamish about leaving your bags on the floor.
Quiet, very clean, so relaxing and Fanta host highly recommended to go stay
Lovely, clean en suite room with everything we needed. Lovely hostess, quiet location.
Host was lovely and so sweet.
Quiet and location - close to town but not in center. Breakfast was continental and provided but not served. This worked for us because of added flexibility. There was plenty food and a good variety including fresh fruit.
Facility requested picture of driver's license. Based on our experience, this is not necessary, so it felt intrusive.
Clean and in general everything is fine to stay at this place. We liked the modern style of the room!
We haven’t known that it is a self checkin and self service breakfast place. So in general we like to meet a host and don’t like to spend time into cooking in the morning. There have been old magazines in the furniture, which I don’t know, why this is available?
Compact room for bedroom and breakfast. All goods for breakfast provided. Location good for nearby town of Bantry. Comfortable and clean.
The room was designed for bed and breakfast but with self catering from provided goods. We never met the host, all communication by email even when we were both on premises. Monday is the day most local restaurants and bars do not open or do food so a struggle but we found the Brick Oven open in Bantry and would recommend it.
Siobhan has created a very relaxing space, with all the cooking amenities you need. Breakfast is generous, the secure wifi signal is good, the bed is comfortable and you can park easily. We loved our stay and chatting with Siobhan. Would book her again if in the area so thanks a million, Siobhan.
Nothing
Extremely comfortable and clean. Siobhan communicated all the details in advance so checking in and out was really easy. There was a great sense of flexibility having everything you needed for breakfast in your area too.
Nice, cozy and clean room Location is a few minutes drive to Bantry, nice little town. Owner Siobhan was very nice but unfortunately not meet in person
There was relatively cold in the room upon arrival, Then the owner have turned on the heating. The breakfast was continental, which is OK, unfortunately some of the packaging was already opened from the previous guests with only 2 slices of cheese left, which is not acceptable also from hygienical reasons. The packaging with cheeses and sausages should be closed in the original way for each new guest.
The location, the facilities, the host, the price.
Nothing , everything was perfect.
The room was nice and very clean. The continental breakfast stored in the room was very useful for the morning. The check in instructions were very clear. Siobhan was very nice and helpful by message.
The room and bathroom were a little bit cold, especially during night.
Quiet, good breakfast, clean.
Heating was on for an hour in the evening and an hour in the morning. It was a wet day, our clothes were still wet the next day. It was freezing! An electric heater in the room might be an idea. Difficult to find. Instructions arrived after we had checked-in.
I really enjoyed staying here! Everything was spotlessly clean, plenty of food was provided, great for a hungry cyclist, and I even had a safe dry space to put my bicycle! I was also given great advice on local shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!
Location is amazing, close to Bantry and Glengariff, perfect place for touring West Cork. The host is friendly and very accommodating, I requested a gluten free breakfast and was given a lot of gluten free options. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious
Very private room. Fully stocked for all my needs for breakfast and evening supper. Room very clean & comfortable to stay in. Would stay here again.
Clean, tidy and shower was just what you needed after a days work 👍
All good
Self-catering heaven, which is what one needs at times. Even though it was a room and not an apartment, microwave and fridge in place for late arrivals dinner and early departures breakfast before the airport.
I wanted for nothing.
Nice room, good breakfast, quiet zone, a single room house.
Nothing
The self check-in and check-out worked perfectly. The host sent all the instructions prior to our arrival. The room was very lovely, clean and spaceious. In the room there was also all the food for the breakfast prepared and it was planty of it. There were also all the bathroom necessities (from q-tips to conditioner and toothpaste …).
The room and the bathroom were a bit cold.
Wonderfully private, quiet location, communication was excellent, healthy continental breakfast suited our needs perfectly. Close to restaurant/bar, good value for money, would definitely stay again! Thank you!
Siobhan s garden is a paradise
nothing to complain
I liked that the accommodation was self contained and everything you could need was laid on. Property location is very quiet. Convenient private parking.
Siobhan was lovely and very welcoming, even when I called twice trying to find the house. It is down a lane, I was looking for a road. The room was very comfortable. Lovely view of the backyard, and mountains beyond. If I’d had more time available to me I would have stayed longer.
Nothing
Beautifully decorated self contained room. Snug too...off the main road so very quiet. Lovely modern bathroom/shower. Breakfast is included as is dome fresh fruit.
There was nothing to dislike here.
Would recommend this room. Has everything you need.. Very peaceful and comfortable
Nothing
Terrific little place and very clean and well maintained.
A sign saying Bantry Bay Haven might have been nice as thats what I booked - only sign said simply B&B.
well organised and relaxing
no problems
The room was adequate, in room supply for breakfast was good. A better mattress would be nice.
The property is almost impossible to locate, it does not provide an address and the house itself just says B&B, not Bantry Bay Haven B&B. We lost 90 minutes. Upon knocking on the door nobody answered. About an hour later having concluded we were at the right property, a young adult opened the door and just said: the key is in the door. After that we did not see anybody anymore.
Really comfortable bed and breakfast in Ballylickey. Own door entrance, en suite, seating area, kettle toaster microwave and fridge. Continental Breakfast supplied. Lovely host.
Could only be improved with a flat screen tv. but the wifi was good in any case.
just what I needed!
clean, private, comfy, well stocked.
Everything about this place is 5 star
Nothing to delclare
The view from the bathroom.
Why is this property called Bantry Bay Haven? We couldn't find it and asked locals where it was, and no one had heard of it. When we eventually found it, it had the name Trafford in small writing on the postal box on the gate. The room itself was compact with nowhere to put our belongings, so we had to leave our suitcases on the floor which gave us even less space to move around. Ensuite was very nice although had cheap towels and bathmat. Bedroom was not as bright and cheerful as shown in the picture but quite dingy with a dark colour scheme.
Excellent— very thoughtful layout , compact , well organized, everything works simply, great breakfast. Overall go hiontach ar fad !
Couldn’t find any faults - Everything matches expectations. Description is very accurate.
Host Síobhán was so lovely and accommodating, our own side entrance so not interfering with her side of the house, lovely spacious room, bed was so comfortable and any toiletries/breakfast foods you can think of were provided. kettle and microwave also came in handy and was overall an extremely comfortable stay.
this is an ideal spot if looking for a scenic or very quiet get away, however there is no restaurants around the area open on weekdays with just one shop within walking distance
after a long day I was looking forward to warm room I could relax in, unfortunately I didn’t get that. no heating at all was on and no extra heater to put on. there were extra covers but this is not great in the middle of February and didn’t see the host at all.
An amazing arrangement with stocked fridge for self service breakfast and a microwave to cook something yourself in the evening
10/10 recommend- such a lovely room with plenty of breakfast options included. Nice and quiet location but still so close to town. We really loved our stay here and would definitely return
A very quiet and cute place to stay near Bantry. I like making our own light breakfast.
All the little touches that made our stay great
People could look straight into our room and we had to have blinds closed to have privacy
An absolute gem of a find! Great hospitality, warm welcome, very comfy room, abundant breakfast! Would highly recommend.
Location of the property is very good. Very quiet Nice room.
Can’t remember ever staying in a b&b where there was no television. Having to prepare your own continental breakfast in your room was also poor. Location of the property could not be found by sat nav.
Super gem or haven in idyllic scenery . This self contained unit with abundantly stocked fridge and every toiletry available supplied is Heaven . Siobhán is so accommodating that we parked our car in total security earlier at her place and headed off cycling. The privacy -peace-comfort-cleanliness -location -hospitality are A1. Can’t wait for our next cycling trip to this same “ haven” .
A longer stay😒
A home from home. Need a car to get in to Bantry as very limited bus service . But for outdoor people plenty of country walks and beeches and a pub with music /food nearby and a 5 star hotel but need to book food in advance. A very pricy supermarket nearby who sell wine. Beers etc and gourmet food to take out. Cold fare etc. The owner of the apartment is exceptional with all sorts of food in a practically filled fridge and fresh milk each day. Selection of cereal and fruit. Private entrance in to apartment is ideal and car parking. Pillows super comfy. Would definitely come back.
No television . Not really an issue for me but maybe for other people
