When we thought we would be arriving by train we found it difficult (actually impossible) to book a taxi to meet us at the train station.

this hotel is perfectly placed to explore Serlat. it s clean , fun and the owner is charming and helpful

The property is a nicely restored old city villa, just across the street from the medieval town center. Everything was tastefully done - though more in a fusuon of modern and authentic 19th century (no complaints, just setting expectations). There is free public parking just a few minutes walking distance - on quiet streets. The room was very spacious, inviting, and you could tell that everything from the furniture to the aroma were thought of. It was an extremely comfortable stay. And the breakfast was an assortment of just the right amount and variety of local products and produce, all of which were very high quality and well presented. Finally, the host was extremely welcoming and nice to chat with, and always ready with the right pointers to get us where we wanted to go.

Soundproofing isn't great, but certainly above average for this sort of building, particularly given the thin wooden window frames. Still, you can clearly hear cars, bikes and the occasional construction in the streets below, which detracts from the experience.

Great location, free parking very close. Easy to get into the fringe of the old town without the difficulty of driving tight streets. The host is great for providing daily ideas of what to see and routes. Breakfast amazing

The breakfast was absolutely delicious- fresh, varied and beautifully presented. The location is excellent. La habitación fenomenal. Amplia, cómoda, limpia, lavabo enorme!!! Estilo clásico y eso lo hace diferente. Steve es un gran anfitrión, un tipo simpático que te da buenas opciones e ideas. El desayuno sensacional... probablemente el mejor croissant que comí en Francia... y he probado unos cuantos :-)

Nada respecto al alojamiento. Probablemente Sarlat no es un lugar para alojarse en Agosto... demasiada gente y masificación. Si puedes viajar fuera de la temporada alta lo disfrutarás mucho más.

Des chambres d’hôtes tenues par un couple anglais particulièrement accueillant et attentionné. Déco so british :) Un quartier très calme à 5 minutes à pied du centre historique.

It was so close to the old town, basically a 50 meter walk to the start of the avenues of the old town. Fantastic breakfast. STEPHEN the owner was so helpful he made the trip an absolute delight with his information and recommendations and his sense of humour.

Memorable experience in this beautiful gem of a hotel ! Steve made things extra special from greeting us to sharing all the recommendations where to eat, places to visit and putting together a lovely breakfast every morning. The rooms were large and very comfortable with large windows and authentic decor. AC worked perfectly There is also free parking 2 min walk from the hotel. We ended uo booking another night and enjoyed another day of exploring the surrounding area and lots of great restaurants

Un séjour absolument parfait ! Le personnel de l’hôtel a été merveilleux et aux petits soins. J’avais demandé qu’un bouquet de fleurs soit déposé dans notre chambre pour faire une surprise à ma femme, et à notre retour, nous avons découvert le bouquet accompagné de bougies et de délicieux gâteaux au chocolat : une attention magnifique qui nous a vraiment touchés. La chambre était impeccable et tout était parfait. Rien à redire, si ce n’est un grand 10/10 ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

The room was spacious and airconditioned which was so necessary with the high temperatures. The breakfast was just gorgeous, so plentiful and huge selection. Having the facilities of a little kitchen for coffees, etc was a bonus. Steven and Susan were such brilliant hosts and went above and beyond for us. When my wife was taken ill Susan guided us on her scooter to the hospital, interpreted the language for us when we were at our most vulnerable. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and understanding. Also an excellent location for all that wonderful Sarlat has to offer.

There was nothing to dislike, it was wonderful, we will be back.

They advised us on so many things in the area, made dinner reservations for us, helped us figure out transportation to Paris (which was very complicated during the timeframe of our trip), and much more! The place was perfect and in a great location with walkability to everything.

We had a fantastic stay at Les Cordeliers. The room was stunning, the hosts were very accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious.

Welcoming is the first word that comes to mind. I am not sure just how old the building is but it has been fully modernized inside while it has kept the charm of a bygone era. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. There were also rooms nearby for relaxing or making coffee, etc. Breakfast included a great selection of everything from fruit to eggs, cereal and pastries. Overall a wonderful experience. The owners were a wealth of information and were able to give excellent advice for places to visit and to eat. I should also mention that the location is great, close to everything.

We were delighted to stay in a wonderful mansion perfectly maintained by Susan and Stephen. They recommended restaurants to us very well. The last day they helped us a lot due to a problem that arose. We thank you very much

It was a very happy five days for us at Les Cordeliers. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet, with a lovely view over the park across the street. The location was perfect and we could walk everywhere that we wanted in town. Breakfast was lovely, delicious, and with charming French music in the background. Stephen was very friendly and helpful. He directed us to restaurants and was informative about the town. Susan was delightful and made a delicious granola!

We loved the beautiful building very spacious incredibly clean rooms and amazing host. Very walkable to everything and excellent guidance on how to spend each day to have a great vacation.

Tivemos um problema de cobrança a maior, no valor de € 104,50, mas estamos tentando resolver. Café da manhã bem bom. De qq forma, recomendo muito esse hotel

The luxurious amenities, were exemplary and the prime location grabbed our attention to the hotel. We loved everything! We highly recommend “Les Cordeliers Hotel”Sarlat worthy of five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ A real jewel in the the Dordogne! Firstly, on arrival we were made to feel at home with a big welcome immediately 🥰 The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp white bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options, most of which was locally sourced. The staff were attentive and extremely knowledgeable of the local amenities, for all the local attractions, restaurants and bars. The hoteliers, Steve and Susan went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. The price is very favourable to stay at this hotel and breakfast was included. We are already booked up for next year!

Charming house steps away from the center. Susan & Stephen wonderful hosts. We drove through the area years ago, revisiting Sarlat. Stephen carried our bags up to the first floor, large room en-suite bathroom, overlooking the Park. Bed & Bath linen of high quality. Good breakfast downstairs. Stephen made Reservations for our requested 4 dinners. Excellent Michelin star service without the prices. As seasoned travelers over many decades, Sarlat remains our favorite by far. 4 days of Foie Gras and Truffles in an Historic area to visit. A Hotel for adults who appreciate the finer things in life. Absolutely everything! The location was fabulous, right in the heart of Sarlat. The furnishings and decor were everything you want from a tasteful and charming French stay! Breakfast was fresh and fabulous. More than anything - the hosts make this place truly special. So warm, accommodating - it’s so clear how much care and thought they put into Les Cordeliers and also have lots of local recommendations.

Breakfast was a true delight, served in the magnificent 1800s dining room—elegant and generous, the kind of setting that invites you to slow down and savour every bite. Susan and Steve’s recommendations for restaurants and local discoveries were spot-on. If you’re looking for comfort, authenticity, and a deeply hospitable experience in the Dordogne, I can’t recommend Les Cordeliers enough. A rare find. Un séjour mémorable au cœur de Sarlat Les Cordeliers est une véritable perle, idéalement située au cœur de la ville médiévale de Sarlat-la-Canéda. Dès notre arrivée, Susan et Steve nous ont accueillis avec une telle chaleur qu’on s’est immédiatement sentis comme chez nous. Si vous cherchez un hébergement mêlant confort, authenticité et accueil sincère en Dordogne, je recommande Les Cordeliers les yeux fermés. Une adresse rare.

Everything was impeccable

A beautiful building set at the top end of town, perfect location

The hosts were welcoming and so hospitable. We loved the breakfast (and second breakfast too) each morning. The decor is gorgeous and the rooms very spacious. There is free parking nearby and the location is perfect to explore Sarlat and nearby towns. Thanks so much for our stay Susan and Steve! We hope to be back one day.

This property is for the matured clientele. The room was huge, the AC was quiet and efficient! The staff/ owners were so nice and helpful. The location was one that you cannot beat. It was close the everything and yet so quiet.

There was no TV but that is not unusual for a lot of the France hotels/ BB.

The Location was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable. And everything felt quaint and cozy yet luxurious at the same time. The host Steve and Susan were so hospitable! They gave 5 star service and were so kind. If Steve gives you a recommendation be sure to listen! Everything he suggested was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay.
