Přátelská atmosféra, ochota a vstřícnost majitelů
Hluk ze silnice
Lovely hosts. Friendly and welcoming people. Delicious tea, interesting stories, good travel advice.
Our room didn't have a hot shower. Only one socket to either use the fan or charge your phone... Some people might like a softer mattress for their rest. Not huge issues but
This is the perfect guesthouse for doing hikes in this super beautiful area of Sri Lanka. Devils staircase hike, combined with Ella Lanka and Bambarakanda falls is an amazing one, but also Wangedigala (14th highest mountain of Sri Lanka!) can be easily done without a guide. The hosts will help you as much as they can, and are very friendly. The room is comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend this guesthouse!
The guesthouse is a bit far from the village so there are only small shops available nearby, but it adds to the charm in my opinion!
Nice house with a beautiful terrace and mountain views, the owner helped us get to the hiking trail, and we purchased tea that the family collects and dries themselves
it's a bit noisy in the room at night from the big cars outside, but the earplugs help
The owner is very hospitable & friendly. Very easy to find the location. It's close to "Surathali Ella" & "Bambarakanda falls".
Mr. Clive and his wife were amazing, so kind and helpful. The place was super clean and really comfortable.
Honestly nothing, everything was great.
Clive and Chryshanthie were the loveliest hosts. They welcomed us with a fresh pot of tea and a bunch of delicious bananas. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was their warmth and genuine desire to help us in any way they could with information and advice on walks and where to eat etc that made our stay with them very special. They even let us have a late check out so we could shower after our long walk. Very accommodating and thoughtful. I would highly recommend Misty Mountain Guest House. It was a pleasure to stay there.
Mr.Clive ,the owner of the property was soo friendly . He allowed us to use his own kitchen to prepare tea and noodles eventhough the kitchen facilities were not included.great location
It's better to have hot water
Clive and Chryshanthie gave me the best hospitality i’ve ever had. They made sure I had everything I needed and even more. Clive and his wife are pure hearted people with generous stories to share. They will let you enter their house like you’re a family member of them. They are truly welcoming. And please try Clive’s food, it’s one of my best meal of this trip. Thank you so much for this incredible experience and hospitality, Love
Nothing! Maybe think about bringing a mosquito net as it’s quite in nature. I might bring a little more touch of luxury to your stay.
It could not be better than it was! I had great time there for two nights. The host is very kind and knowledgeable. The room was clean and beautiful. As a birdwatcher, I photographed 17 birds species from the balcony of the place! I will never forget the place and its kind host ❤️
Rooms are clean, the food was always delicious and Clive (the owner of the hostel) was very hospitable and helpful throughout my time here. Overall a great experience!
Clive is the most kind, generous and welcoming host. He immediately made me feel at home and was so helpful and attentive. The rooms and facilities were very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend - this was such a special place to stay!
Everything’s was amazing :)) always want to come back
We had a great time with Clive and Chryshanthie. They prepared delicious Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast for us. We spent the evening together and learned a lot about Sri Lanka and just enjoyed spending time together. Clive also showed us his garden where we could see different plants. It felt like we were visiting family. Thank you so much for everything!
The hosts, Clive & Chryshantie, quickly felt like a mom and dad. They were beyond caretaking and amazing. We had the best food ever, for both breakfast and dinner. They gave us gifts, memories for life and helped us with our next booking and made sure we arrived safely. We felt so safe, like home.❤️ The guest house itself had everything we needed and we felt sad to leave after 2 nights. They both are so knowledgeable about many different topics and felt like we could talk for ages and just want more.
Liked everything in the property. The owner couple (Mr. and Mrs. Costa) was very nice, friendly and helpful. They were willing to help with anything.
It was next to the main road, so it was very noisy at night. First night, it was bothering everyone, but second day we really didn't hear anything and didn't pay much attention to the noise as we were very tired.
The hosts are absolutely georgeous! It's a simple, but lovely homestay, has everything you need and if you like to talk with locals and know more about tge country, Clive will tell you all you want to know :) Thank's again for all your infos, good conversations and bringing me to the hikingpath. See you again, pretty sure ;)
Unbelievable stay for the money, with great hosts and the best meal I've had in Sri Lanka so far.
Clive and Chryshanthie were both very welcoming and always went out of their way to ensure I felt at home. Room was very nice and close proximity to some nice hikes and waterfalls. Highly recommend.

The place is wonderful, the room comes with all the comfort needed - but we are mostly grateful to have met the hosts, an amazing and caring couple always open to help and give great insights about places to visit or Sri Lank itself. They cook, and it simply was the best food ever had.
Amazing stay, hosts were so caring. x
The owner Clive went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He upgraded our room as the room we originally booked did not have hot water. He would often make us tea or bring us bottles of water and was just an all round friendly guy. The room was clean and comfortable, I can’t fault anything.
The super nice people treated and cared us very friendly while we stay
Clive and his wife were very helpful. He even explained the history of the Sri Lanka whisky called Arrack and offered us some tasting of his private collection of old Arrack
Great spot to stay on my way down from the central highlands to the south coast. Comfortable and clean room and Clive made me feel very at home and made sure I was well fed. Right on the main road with a little supermarket nearby as well.
The place is very easy to reach by bus from Colombo. Clive was waiting for me outside the place even though it was 22:30 already and pouring. I wanted to do a hike and Clive recommended to do the waterfalls as it had been raining for days and this trail was save. I loved my hike and Clive‘s hospitality. He would drop me at the bottom of the trail and provided me with all infos. Upon return I got a huge fruit plate and juice. Since the kitchen was under constitution Clive asked me to join for dinner and took me to a friend‘s place for excellent local food. We had hoppers, curry and roti while he shared some stories. He helped me get on the bus again and checked in if I got to Ella safely. All in all I had a relaxed time and felt in best hands off the beaten path. Thank you and all the best for the future 🧡
The place is next to the main road which makes it easy to reach but can also be loud during the night. Careful with food, close to nature means ants will love the snack.
Lovely and caring people. Kind and helpful. Delicious dinner.
My evening at misty mountain guest house with Clive and Chyshanthie has been my best evening in Sri Lanka, and I have stayed at many wonderful places. I am a young female from Australia travelling alone on my motorbike. Clive and Chryshanthie cared for me like family, cooked the most delicious Sri Lankan dinner I have had, shared stories of Sri Lanka, life, travel and nature with me. I learnt so much from them and it gave so much meaning to my travel. They are a beautiful couple with so much heart and a lovely home. I cannot recommend this guest house enough - I did not want to leave, it felt like home. The area generally is incredibly beautiful, 5 minutes to tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and several others, even the main road to the east of the guest house is breathtaking and worth a drive. The room is immaculately clean, comfortable and homely. It was such a privilege to stay here ♥️
The most welcoming owners I have ever had. Willing to help with anything they can. Got so much advices and help. Also very good chat on various topics. Room was clean and very nice. If you are in the area, this is the best place you can choose.
Nice clean room, the host Clive is what makes this place special, he will do everything he can to make your stay perfect, from advice on where to go to amazing Sri Lankan food and great conversation at dinner
Beautiful peaceful location. A perfect place to refresh and reset away from the busier, more touristic areas. The owners are so kind and sweet, you will truly feel at home here. Also very delicious food ! And all at a very reasonable price. If you like to hike, you can summit Wangedikanda in a 5 hour round-trip (for FREE) Cannot recommend enough. Amazing !
No complaints.
This place was incredible. Clive and his wife are some of the best hosts you will find in all of Sri Lanka. Incredible cooks, happy to help you with everything and anything, and amazing to chat to as well, they have a very worldly perspective on things. Nice and close to some awesome local hikes, but the owners were the real highlight, turning this into one of my favourite parts of my whole holiday. Thanks again for the amazing food and for making me feel right at home from the first minute I arrived. I'll be back!
Nothing to dislike here.
Travelled with two kids. Great hospitality & excellent home made dinner and breakfast. Hosts were very professional, supportive and had a kind attitude towards kids.
We are so grateful for staying in this place. The owner was so nice to us. We learned a lot about the culture and many things about Sri Lanka. We were surprised that they had made our national dishes 👌. Thank you so much. The Best Place we stayed so far in Sri Lanka 😊
In 19 days in Sri Lanka, we have changed 11 hotels and we can say with confidence that this is one of the best (we considered rooms in the price range up to $20 per night)! The owner, Mr. Clive, is an incredibly friendly and outgoing person. The outside area is very well maintained and the room is clean and comfortable. Mr. Clive offered us a very nice dinner at a great price. The owner also helped to adjust our route and gave us helpful directions for our future travels. Once again, we want to thank Mr. Clive for his hospitality! You will be in our heart forever. Sincerely, Mr. Roman and Mrs. Victoria. Traveler's note: We got to the hotel from Udawalawa by busses, transferring to Pelmadulla. The bus picked us up in front of the Udawalawa park entrance (just stop the bus where you are standing. You will be picked up) and dropped us off near the hotel. Time was about an hour and a half, price was about 1500 rupees per person for both buses. A grocery store near the hotel. Of attractions - a wonderful hiking trail from Ohiya overlooking the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka - Bambarakanda Falls. The trail is a 20 km descent with a difference in elevation of 1400 meters (the top point - Ohiya). If you want to walk it, I recommend to stay overnight at The Misty mountain guest house, drive to Ohiya in the morning (about an hour by bus and train), return to the hotel and spend the night there.
Fantastic owners with great welcome drinks and chicken soup...mmmm, I think one of the best owners that we meet in Srilanka! Comfortable mattress, great view, silent.
Cold water shower, really cold, not possible use it.
Lovely owners!
Many thousands thanks for the host, he helped a lot with every problem we had, clean room, hot water, good wi fi, nice tea
The bed was hard, other things are pretty fine
